With more than 16 years of professional experience photographing weddings, portraits, events, and real people in unpredictable environments, Jess brings equal parts artistry, technical expertise, intuition, and calm to a wedding day. Once the celebration had started she also did a phenomenal job capturing all of the important people who we wanted casual photos with. To this end, the process before our wedding was also seamless-- we were able to coordinate everything remotely and Jess arrived day of with printed lists of the names of family and friends as well as group shots that we desired. She even made a large group photo with over 15 people happen! I can't recommend her enough. She was fun, her vision is unique and she was incredibly professional. On our wedding day, Jess went above and beyond. She created our timeline, which kept the day flowing seamlessly, and she made sure we were never rushed while still staying on track. She took the time to capture every special moment and made sure we got photos in all of the spots that were important to us around Lake Placid. Being in front of her camera never felt staged or forced—it felt natural, fun, and comfortable, like we were spending time with a friend who just happened to be capturing every moment beautifully.
Our friends and family also raved about how wonderful she was to be around, and how seamlessly she blended into the day while still capturing everything. Her professionalism and attention to detail showed in everything she did, yet she balanced it with warmth, patience, and genuine care.
When we received our photos, we were blown away by how stunning they were—they truly captured the heart of our day in the most authentic way. Jess is everything you could hope for in a wedding photographer and more. She gave us the gift of memories we will cherish forever, and we feel so lucky to have had her with us on such an important day.

& highly opinionated family personalities, aggressively bright sun in the afternoon during the ceremony, and a rain storm in the evening on the backdrop of no cell service and shifting clouds. She came up with really cool shots that we never would have thought of that became some of our favorites. E.g.,
- She went on the balcony to get a full wedding group shot of everyone there.
- She found a non traditional first look spot in the forest which allowed her to capture glowing green forest light
- She worked with the rainstorm to get us beautiful dramatic misty evening shots that we ended the night with us dancing in the rain. These shots she previewed to us only a few days after the wedding while we were on our honeymoon and they've become our favorites & were used for our TY cards
She handled some outspoken family members with grace and humor. Many of our guests all commented on her professionalism and adaptability and were wow'd by the photos.

It was a wonderful mix of Jess bringing her expertise and also listening and understanding what we wanted out of our photography. The day of, she was prompt and patient with us as it took us a bit to warm up to the camera. Her gentle suggestions/guidance about where to stand/how to position ourselves throughout the day really helped improve the final product. photographer. She was prepared and walked us through her portfolio highlighting photos from our venue and suggesting taking photos during golden hour on the hilltop overlooking the Hudson Valley. She answered all of our questions and was transparent about costs and expectations. We booked an engagement session as we were both very nervous about getting our pictures taken. After having worked with her, I can say we were blown away with how organized she was, communicating with us every step of the way, from Zoom meetings months ahead of time and then a few check-ins getting closer, and her efficiency is next level. We’re also pretty awkward in front of a camera but she made posing fun. She understood family dynamics and we made a list of people we needed photos of which she was able to provide for us. What we (and our families!) were so impressed with on the day of was that she was able to gently borrow us, friends, and family members to take our requested group photos SO quickly and efficiently, and without disrupting any of the party. For our actual wedding day, Jess knew that we wanted great photos but also really wanted to spend time with our guests. ur wedding to family holiday cards to boudoir for an anniversary gift. Each experience she made us feel special and completely at ease while she was shooting. It's not always easy to get my husband and son to open up and genuinely smile for pictures, but Jess did it with ease after only having known them for minutes. She's meticulous and captures details I wouldn't have even thought to look for in person, and the end product is stunning photographs that I have and will treasure throughout the years. Jess coaxed smiles out of everyone, gently nudged me into taking (needed!) bride breaks, joked us through the family portrait line, and, perhaps best: was phenomenal with my kid. She was unobtrusive but ever present: whenever I turned to say, "Could you...?" she was there to take the photo. She even finished my braided up-do when my sister got stuck, and it was gorgeous.
For those doing their own planning (we got married at my parents' house): the photography schedule of the day she created became the backbone of the whole wedding. I had no idea what I was doing, and she was always ready with an email answer or suggestion. Her lists helped me make my lists.
I chose her originally because the couples in her portfolio looked incredibly happy and beautiful, glowing in a way that seemed achievable even for little-old-me. Throughout the super-stress process of planning the wedding, those couples' photos were a calming touchstone that yes, I would also be happy and beautiful, that my wedding was a dream that was actually possible.
