Jessica Hunt picked up her first camera at 16 years old and has been creating fine art portraiture ever since. She received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Studio Art with an emphasis in Photography from Columbia College in 2014 and started her business, Jessica Hunt Photography, in 2015, with just a dream and a used Canon camera. Today, Jessica serves a wide array of couples throughout the Southeast and all over the world during one of the most significant experiences of their life: their wedding day. She is passionate about helping lovers connect on a deeper level with each other and creating imagery that highlights every couple and love story, no matter who or how they love. Jessica's work has been featured in well-known print and online publications including The Knot, Munaluchi Bride, Martha Stewart Weddings, and Southern Weddings — over 200 times in the past three years alone. She has also been named among The Knot's “Best of Weddings” for four consecutive years in a row and has earned and induction into The Knot's Hall of Fame.

I can’t recommend Jess and her team enough! After a rough start with another photographer, Jess went above and beyond to make me feel at ease and confident that I’d be in great hands with her. From our first phone call and post-wedding, she’s been nothing short of incredible. She even helped me apply boob tape for my bridal portraits, which was hilarious and a great reflection of her personality. The wedding day was amazing; she was on top of everything, whether it was making sure we were posed and looking our best or hiding me away from my groom. Everyone in the wedding party had nothing but great things to say about her and her team. And then receiving our photos and video was just the icing on the cake. I’m truly amazed at her work and can’t even find the words to thank her for delivering just beautiful images that will forever hold a special place in my heart. If you’re on the fence, let this be your sign to not think twice; she’s amazing. We can’t wait to use her for future photography needs. We love you, Jess!! The Jennings 🤍

Jess and her team photographed our wedding on September 7, 2024 just outside of Washington, DC in Virginia. They were simply amazing, truly exceptional, and so talented! 11/10! We are so happy and grateful we found them. First, the communication leading up to our wedding was very clear and responsive. Jess asked about our biggest priorities, prompting us to think ahead and align expectations. On the day-of, Jess was a dream! SHE WAS SO PROFESSIONAL AND POSITIVE. She has such a positive and calming attitude. She was super adaptable, connecting with us genuinely and making us laugh. It was a great mix of being directive - telling us where to go/how to pose in certain cases - and letting everyone be themselves comfortably. We felt easeful working with her and her team, and that was because of their professional and empathetic attitudes. She kept us on schedule without feeling rushed or anxious. One small example of the proactive, calming, professional experience that showed she really cared about us - we hadn’t prioritized getting “golden hour” sunset photos because it was right in the middle of our reception. Jess felt out the reception flow and noticed how gorgeous the sunset was and came up to us and said, “Hey guys, the sunset is gorgeous, I can get you in and out for those photos in 7 minutes if you want!” She also cleared it with our wedding planner so everyone was on the same page with the timeline (communication so good!). We agreed, popped outside for a quick shoot, and went back in to continue dinner. When we got our photos back, those were some of the ABSOLUTE BEST photos of the day! Jess really didn’t have to look out for us in that way, and I know it may sound simple, but it’s truly things like extra little effort on your wedding day in unexpected moments from those around you that make the difference in having magical moments - it was like if your best friend or sister was looking out for you. Then we got the photos, wow! First of all, we got 90 photos that were our “highlight album” just shy of ONE WEEK later. It was SO FUN AND EXCITING to be able to see photos that quickly while we were still on such a high. And the QUALITY!!!!! We had zero edits. We’d never looked so good and joyful! We already knew we liked the Jessica Hunt style from her portfolio. It’s a beautiful mix of bright, lively, true to color, and it brought out the beauty in our venue immensely. But it’s amazing to see your own special day and loved ones shot so beautifully with zero edits. P.S., we had all the colors of the rainbow among our wedding party and guests, and she photographed everyone beautifully across ALL skin colors and tones! Then!!!! We got the full photo album ahead of schedule, too! We know couples who had extensive back-and-forth on edits with their photographer, or were 2+ months out from their wedding with no professional photos to view or share, and we are so grateful for both the speed and quality. We still haven’t been able to choose which photos to have printed and framed because many are so gorgeous. Jess is just a fire human who is inclusive and cares so much about her work and clients, and is one of the most professional vendors I’ve ever worked with peak good vibes. I don’t know what else to say… She made us and our family and friends FEEL and LOOK amazing. We love you, Jess! Thank you. Hire her if you want an exceptional photography experience!!!

Jessica is more than a photographer; she's an absolute gem! Having her capture Michael and Amber's wedding was a dream come true. Her sincere and thoughtful nature shines through in everything she does. During the whirlwind of the wedding day, she even ensured we (the planners) stayed hydrated – a gesture no other vendor has ever extended. Her familiarity with the venue was invaluable, helping us navigate logistics and optimize the timeline for stunning photos. Jessica and her team were recommended to me by very close friends after their wedding. I must say, enough cannot be said about how wonderful Jessica and her team are. They’re energy is always on point and they’re ability to capture beautiful moments on the best day of your life are unmatched! We worked with Savannah during both our engagement shoot and the wedding day and she was WONDERFUL! She made sure we felt comfortable, beautiful and kept things moving. I couldn’t have asked for a better experience. Photography was the most important to me out of our vendors for our wedding. I did my research and after coming across Jessica Hunt/her team, I KNEW they were the perfect fit for our special day and they didn’t let me down. Jess constantly went out of her way for my wife and I and made us feel like we always had her full focus and attention. She also made us feel SO comfortable from the moment we met her at our engagement shoot and we instantly became lifelong friends. Not to mention, the actual photos…breathtaking and PERFECTLY captured. I could say so much more, but what’s most important is the talent/passion Jess has behind the camera. It can’t be matched or beat. If I had to redo the process, I’d choose Jess and her team over and over again. And we will definitely be using her for future shoots!

I can't give Jessica enough praise. She was communicative, open, curious, and empathetic throughout the process of planning the photography for our wedding. Her consults and questionnaires are designed to bring out the joy in imagining all the special moments you hope for during your wedding; her scheduling was masterful; and the entire team kept everyone feeling excited, respected, and beautiful! And this is all without mentioning the photos themselves, which are so, so gorgeous. Perfect representations of how my husband and I felt, which Jessica achieved both through working to get to know us as people, and through her dedication and skill at her art.

The Jessica Hunt Photography team is fantastic! They work extremely hard to make you and you partner feel comfortable and get you beautiful images that will last a lifetime. Jessica is very through and makes sure she knows your exact timeline and must-have shots. After a Covid scare just before our wedding, the decision was made to shift photographers, but it was handled with grace and we were not worried for a second! Savannah and Mary Faith did an amazing job capturing our favorite day. I cannot say enough good things.

Jessica Hunt Photography was at the top of my list when making decisions about a wedding photographer. Being in an interracial relationship, I wanted to guarantee that my pictures came out perfectly. Jessica and her team delivered beyond my expectations. Savannah and Mary Faith were at our wedding night and were perfect for us. We can’t say enough great things about Jessica Hunt and the entire JHP team! We had a great experience working with Jessica for our wedding and would highly recommend JHP to anyone looking for a photographer. A few things that set the JHP team apart: 1. The quality of the photos/editing was terrific. The photos are absolutely gorgeous and the team did such a great job capturing all the little moments of our day, which makes going back and reliving our wedding day that much more enjoyable. 2. Jessica is super organized and provides tons of resources such as vendor recommendations and example timelines, which was very helpful during the planning process. Jessica also provided detailed questionnaires to get to know us and what we wanted from our photos, compiled the personalized timeline for our wedding day, and was always available to answer any questions. 3. Jessica and her team are super friendly and will be your biggest cheerleaders. They do a great job of setting up shots and making everyone feel comfortable and confident during photos. 4. Jessica Hunt and Savannah did a fantastic job both with our engagement and wedding photos. Her associate Savannah and assistant Mary Faith captured our wedding day perfectly and made us both feel so comfortable in front of the camera. From our consult call with Jessica more than a year before the wedding all the way through receiving our final gallery, Jessica was a literal dream to work with. After seeing the colorful, inclusive love on her website we knew she was the wedding photographer for us. It was further confirmed during the phone call getting to know her and her infectious joy. The engagement shoot we did was one of the highlights of wedding planning, it felt like we had known Jessica forever, and there truly is nothing better than spending an hour cuddling and kissing your love while Jessica is your hype woman taking gorgeous pictures. She was also a huge help during the planning in general. Jessica provided a list of other trusted vendors and had questionnaires for us throughout the year to help us figure out what we wanted for our wedding day photos. On the wedding day Jessica and her team were amazing! She took the small hiccups of the day in stride, like my husband forgetting his button down, and even stepped in to style my hair for me when my initial plan fell through. She guided us smoothly through the day, making sure we had nothing to think about other than our love and took some of the most beautiful pictures. Jessica deftly handled extended family portraits with our 36 family members, and so many of them have told us she was the most organized and efficient wedding photographer they have ever seen. In looking through our gallery we also found many wonderful moments Jessica captured that we didn’t even know were happening. Truly if you want someone to focus on the love between you and your partner and to handle any distractions that try to get in the way while taking the most gorgeous pictures you’ve ever seen, we cannot recommend Jessica Hunt enough!

How do you even review perfection? Because that is what you are getting from Jessica and her team. After getting engaged in December of 2020, I knew that one of the things I would not sacrifice to the almighty budget was the photos of our big day. We wanted to keep all of my vendors as local as we could and when we found JHP online, I knew I had to book her as our photographer. I looked at and loved everything she had done, and honestly fan-girled a bit when I got to meet her the first time. Her photos always show the love of the couple on their day and I knew in my heart that I wanted her and her team for our day. It was one of the best decisions we made, and we have the photos to prove it. Once becoming a JHP couple, you just know that you are making the best decision to remember your day. I could never thank Jessica, Savannah, or Mary Faith enough for being such amazing artists and sharing their gifts with us, and every other couple who books them for their day.

I truly am so excited to write this review! Even before the proposal, we knew Jessica Hunt was going to be the photographer for our wedding. I (Haeley) saw her photos come across my Instagram page and immediately fell in love with the images on the screen! Getting engaged in December 2019 really allowed us to think critically about wedding planning while stuck at home during the pandemic, but once we were able to really start the planning process in January of 2021, Jessica Hunt was the first vendor we reached out to after deciding on our venue in hopes that she was available during our preferred wedding month (February). We were fully prepared to choose whichever date her and her team were available (no really, we told our venue coordinator to pencil us in for our first choice of date pending photographer availability before even the initial call with Jessica). And boy did we start off strong with our decision making! Jess and her team (go Sav and Mary Faith!) are a literal DREAM! From the very first call, she makes you feel like you’ve known her forever. She is so organized and has so many great resources for couples during the process including possible vendors and timelines. I’ve never met someone who fits so perfectly in their role as Jess does with wedding photography. I’ve seen other people call her their own personal hype-woman on their wedding day and I whole-heartedly agree! I am incredibly happy with our choice in hiring her to capture our day and would absolutely recommend any couple to book with her and her team!

Long story short: Jessica Hunt's team is phenomenal at what they do, make you feel comfortable in front of the camera, make sure you dont have to worry about a thing on your wedding day, oh and take the most STUNNING photos I have ever seen & you should 10000% hire them Long story long: Jessica Hunt's team genuinely cares about their clients. Jess took the time to get to know our love story, what was important to us and helped us create a timeline for our day. She even checked in periodically to offer help with finding other vendors or other wedding needs. We had an Indian wedding ceremony & an American wedding. She took the time to get to know all of the important traditions before the Indian wedding; even making sure that her team were dressed appropriately. Her team is made up of actual angels, they made sure that my hair and makeup was exactly how I wanted it all day so it photographed perfectly, they hyped us up so we felt gorgeous and natural in front of the camera and made sure that every single important moment was captured. They were on time, organized, made sure we knew exactly what to expect ahead of time and kept my bridesmaids on schedule so I didn't have to worry about a thing. I didnt want to miss out on any wedding fun because I was away taking photos, so she created the schedule in a way that we took 99% of pictures before the guests arrived so I got to enjoy every second. She captured our day beautifully. Not one of our photos looks awkward or posed. All you see are two people madly in love surrounded by happy people there to support them; just the way wedding photography should be. We got our preview photos SUPER fast and our full gallery just a few weeks later. The photos are gorgeous; she captured moments that I didnt even see during the madness of the day. My number one priority for my wedding was having the perfect wedding photographer because I wanted to remember everything about my special day, and Jessica was just that. Jessica Hunt goes above and beyond for her couples. She becomes your biggest cheerleader within 5 minutes of meeting her, and she cares about your wedding as a whole beyond photography. Each time we met up for a session, she wanted to know about how the rest of wedding planning was going, and if she could do anything to help. I loved that she cared about my whole day not just her part. My husband and I both don't love our pictures being taken, but with Jessica's guidance we had a blast. She had us laughing from the start making sure we were as comfortable as possible. My husband and I opted to do our vows at our first look because we wanted to be as vulnerable and honest as possible without a crowd of people, and we both agreed that having any other photographer there with us would have made it hard to still be comfortable in that situation. My husband said it was like having a friend right there with us-not someone that we were paying to just do a job, and I couldn't agree more with that. Jessica and her team are the kindest people you will meet, and she will truly do whatever it takes to make your day perfect. From our initial conversation with Jessica, we knew that we were in good hands! She was easy to talk to as she listened to our love story and what we envisioned for our wedding day. She was very responsive to our emails/inquires and provided great resources and information leading up to our wedding. When our special day finally arrived, the JHP team truly showed up and showed out! They were consummate professionals with great energy and a depth of experience. Jessica is phenomenal to work with! From our first interaction, she was responsive and provided us with details we didn't even know that we needed. She made the planning process easy as she walked us through our wedding day timeline and provided recommendations for other vendors. Not only is she extremely professional, organized, creative, and very knowledgable, she is fun! Jessica is witty, down-to-earth, patient, and really cares about the couple. We were originally opposed to a first look, but after talking it through with her, we are so happy that we chose to have that experience. WOW. That's really the best thing to say for Jessica and her team. We got put into a bind about 6 weeks before our wedding date when our photographer that we previously booked canceled on us. We went into panic mode - but our wedding planner shared with us Jessica's information and holy goodness did she save us. One of Jessica's 2nd shooters, Savannah, ended up working with us on our big day and she did NOT disappoint. Savannah and Jessica literally made our photography nightmares disappear and walked us step by step through the process from helping us decided on photo locations to sending us the final gallery that we got TODAY! The photos are stunning and I could not have asked for a more perfect experience. If you are considering Jessica and her team stop now and just book her. You won't regret it.

We hired Jessica Hunt Photography for our wedding and we're so happy we did. It was a wonderful experience start to finish and we're in love with our finished photo gallery. Jessica is responsive, warm, and super talented. So is the rest of her team. Jessica herself was already booked when we contacted her about our wedding, so she organized for her associate Savannah to be there on our day. Savannah was a delight! She made us feel comfortable right away and it really just felt like hanging out with someone who happened to be taking excellent, beautiful photos. We really love our gallery so much! The back and forth communication with Jessica throughout the whole process made us feel totally at ease, celebrated, and well taken care of. Thanks to the whole team; we're super happy and would recommend them to anyone!

After we booked our wedding venue, the next thing we needed to secure was our photographer. We interviewed several different photogs, and choosing Jessica was an easy decision. We instantly connected with her, and we could tell she really cared about us as individuals, our love story, and properly communicating that through her lens. My husband is pretty camera shy and was a little nervous going into our engagement session, but after, he was feeling happy confident and excited to see the photos! Jessica has a way of brining out your most authentic self, which translates into the best kinds of photos. She will hype you up and make you feel like you're the most beautiful/handsome person in the world! She is professional, detailed, communicative, funny, fun, kind and genuine. Jessica did an amazing job with both our engagement photos and wedding photos, and I couldn't recommend her more!

I've been waiting to post this review because I'm not sure how to put our amazing experience with JHP into words. We could not have asked for a better photographer. She is kind, patient, understanding, funny, and an absolute joy to be around. OH and she's an INCREDIBLE PHOTOGRAPHER. She's also very knowledgeable about photography and you can tell she's very experienced in her work. She knows the right poses and can set up a great shot. When we first met with Jess, I could tell that she was going to bring a positive vibe to our special day. I knew she would lift me up and make me feel like my best self in our photos. After our engagement session, that was confirmed. She just makes you feel so confident and so comfortable in front of the camera. Additionally, she knows the Columbia wedding scene and gives you recommendations for other vendors. We utilized so many of her recommendations for our day. She had questionnaires for us leading up to our big day to discuss the things we wanted or didn't want. We were able to communicate any concerns or questions and felt completely supported. We did a first look at Jess's suggestion and I am SO GLAD we did. It gave us more time for couple portraits and we were still able to join our guests for part of cocktail hour. We got a timeline ahead of time, with everything organized down to the minute. During our wedding day, Jess was prompt and organized. Everything ran smoothly. As a bride, I felt so incredibly supported the entire time. Anything I needed, even if it wasn't photo related, Jess was ready and willing to help me figure it out or find someone to. I got every shot I wanted and more. Our previews came in the following week and I was ecstatic. We got all of our pictures in less than 4 weeks. They are everything I could have wanted and more! The light, bright, airy quality of the photos complemented our venue beautifully. I will forever be recommending Jess to people I know because she is truly just the best! And to top it all off, she's an awesome human and will accept your love, no matter what it looks like.

All I know is that if you don’t book Jessica Hunt Photography something’s wrong because she is the absolute BEST at what she does. Not only did we walk away with the best wedding gallery that you’ve ever seen…but the entire process was amazing. It was the personality for me! You can see that Jessica is super passionate about her work and she is fun and entertaining throughout it all. So again, if Jessica Hunt Photography isn’t shooting your wedding…then I don’t know whose going to do it better.

I cannot emphasize enough of how great an experience my wife and I had with Jessica as our wedding/engagement photographer. She truly is a master at her craft in every aspect. Whether it was her charismatic personality fostering an environment where I could truly express my emotions to my wife, to the vivid photography that helped capture them at every angle. She is a true professional in the manner which she conducts her business behind the lens as well as efficiently responding to emails and delivering the final edited photographs. Calling Jessica’s services an investment is honestly an understatement. When I found Jessica’s website, my heart lit up. This is a photographer who is not only talented but also creates a space to celebrate the love of real couples from all walks of life. She is a unicorn in her field. With her rainbow/unicorn colored hair and Rothy’s, I wish Jessica could just take pictures of my whole life. She makes me wish I lived in SC so that she could take photos of all of my major life events. She is wonderful to chat with. She gets you. She makes sure she understands what is important to you as a couple and then she makes it even better. Jessica is sincere, honest, professional, and fun. She took away as much stress as she could from our wedding day. She had a timeline, she buttoned my gown, and she bustled my gown. When I say she goes above and beyond her duties she truly does. Meeting with her is easy. She really tries to get to know the couple on a personal level. She shows up on time. On the day of the wedding she just makes you laugh. The laughter in the photos is real because not only are you marrying the love of your life but also because Jessica is there just making you crack up. It was truly a joy working with her. Every transition was seamless because of Jessica’s planning from family shots, to our first look, to our exit. I could not have asked for a better experience working with Jessica. When I got engaged last year and started looking for photographers, I came across Jessica and I knew that she was it. She has the best personality! She’s so patient, kind, and really goes above and beyond to meet your needs. When i got my engagement gallery back, i knew that i would fall in even more love with my wedding gallery. My wedding did not go as originally planned due to the COVID-19 pandemic, but she was still able to work her magic and capture the most memorable moments of our lives. Not only was Jessica ready get things rolling when she arrived for pictures wedding day, but she was able to wrangle our 28 person bridal party without a problem! (Including my husband and I). She had great feedback and suggestions for making the events and photos as efficient as possible. Our pictures turned out phenomenal and would hire her over and over again! Jessica is a genius with a camera, and we are going to cherish our photos for the rest of our lives. Since we eloped, these photos are the sole evidence that we did in fact get married, and I don't know what more I could have asked for. Neither of us knew what to expect since we never had our photos taken professionally before. We had a blast on the shoot, you were so much fun to work with. She made us so comfortable. It felt like we were all just best friends going on a walk. Jess is the best and most highly recommended for a reason.

I cannot begin to say enough wonderful things about Jessica! If you want a photographer who you can be 100% comfortable with and rely on, then Jessica is the one for you! We hired Jess on over a year ago as we knew we wanted to use her services for our engagement session, my bridal portraits, and finally our wedding day. Choosing Jess was one of the best (and easiest) decisions we ever made throughout our wedding process as we instantly knew she was a perfect fit for us just after our first phone consultation! I never imagined a wedding photographer would be as fun, professional, knowledgable, and down to earth as Jess. We wanted a low-key, courthouse wedding and needed a photographer who could capture the beauty of the occasion. The bright and crisp look of her images drew me in. And sure enough! JHP was an insturmental part to our wedding day. From the first phone call down to our actual wedding day, Jessica and team were absolutely wonderful to work with. Jessica and her team know how to make you feel normal when you're taking photo after photo and really help you relax on your special day. I knew when I booked Jessica that she does amazing work so my expectations were high when she sent the email that our full gallery was available for viewing. I clicked on the gallery and was surprised to find that not only were our pictures beautiful but I truly do not feel that anyone could have done a better job capturing our wedding than Jessica and her team. If you're in the beginning stages of wedding planning, I promise you want JHP to be a part of your day. Jessica is so helpful and really goes beyond her "job." On my wedding day one of my lashes started to fall off and she reapplied it. She also twisted her ankle within the first five minutes of shooting our pictures and I literally had no idea until later in the night when she started leaning on a crutch. If you're wondering if you can tell in my photos? NOPE. The pictures are so perfect because she loves what she does it and it really does show in her work. Book her now. You will not regret it.

Where do I start? Jessica truly was the completion to our wedding day. She has a energy that you can be so luck to have around you and our wedding day. She made my Wife and I feel not only beautiful but so comfortable. We got married just us in a very intimate beautiful ceremony downtown Charleston September 23,2019. My husband and I are so thankful to have hired Jessica Hunt as our wedding photographer- she was such an important part of wedding day. Our pictures are so beautiful and she captured all the little details of our special day. I should also mention that her team Alisha and Justin were rock stars! We were a bit nervous about being awkward in front of the camera but she really took the time to get to know us before our wedding (even from a thousand miles away!) which allowed us to feel comfortable with her on the day of. WOW! If you want amazing photos, a professional who’s detail orientated, easy to work with and a joy to be around, hire Jessica. Jessica was a pleasure to work with from start to finish. In our first meeting, Jessica got to know us as a couple and our love story. She not only focused on me as a bride, but on my husband as well which meant a lot to us. She was extremely organized, asked a lot of questions about exactly what we wanted and, she was prompt on her delivery of photos! Not to mention the beautiful preview photos we got too! I can honestly say that choosing Jessica as our wedding photographer was the best choice we made in wedding planning (besides choosing to marry each other). From the first phone call, I knew I wasn't going to worry about anything. Our engagement photos with her were stunning and showcased everything we love most - each other, our dogs, and local beer.
