​I am so incredibly blown away by how amazing Jess has been to work with and how perfect our pictures turned out. Jess was extremely organized and easy to communicate with. We loved that the meetings we had with Jess were tangible and productive rather than just discussing ideas solely. Jess was extremely easy to get ahold of and very timely in responses when we had questions. We always felt secure and confident in her abilities, her commitment, and her professionalism. She​ truly got to know Seth and I as a couple, and wanted to capture our relationship in the pictures. Her editing style is beautiful and shows the authenticity of our love. We received our sneak peeks and our full gallery in an amazing amount of time and it was perfect to relive our wedding day. Jess has been extremely communicative through the whole process. We couldn't recommend Jessica Knighton more thoroughly! We chose Jess because we noticed that in her photos, the people always looked relaxed and their personalities shine through. This is very representative of working with Jess, who made us feel so comfortable from day one. From our first meeting, she helped us know what to expect with the whole wedding process, drew up an itinerary for us, and really helped us think through what would make the wedding day perfect for us. During our engagement session, Jess really helped us feel more confident in front of the camera. We were nervous but were surprised to find that the photo shoot was actually a lot of fun. And now we have cute photo posing skills we can use for the rest of our lives! We loved how the engagement photos turned out! The way we were having fun on picture day was perfectly reflected. When the wedding day came, it was like Jess was a guide to get us to all of our planned special moments. As a couple of introverts, we highly recommend having her sneak you out for sunset pics. Not only are the pictures perfect (they are), but you get some time for yourselves to take in the fact that you just got married! Afterwards, Jess worked with us on editing the pictures just right. We can’t make you decide who to choose as a photographer for your wedding, but we have nothing but praise for Jess!​

I think I speak for a lot of us that wedding planning is not easy and pretty overhwhelming. ​I found Jess at the beginning of my planning journey by looking through about a million portfolios online. Hers stood out by a mile when my then fiance (now husband) starting tearing up while saying, "I hope we look that happy on our day." After meeting with Jess for a consult she gave us a full outline of what our day would look like down to the hour. Even though this was a rough draft it was honestly the perfect guide that we would use throughout our whole planning process. It gave us a lot of comfort knowing we didn't have to figure it out from scratch. Along the way as the day got closer we did our engagement photos which was a blast and Jess was up for anything to make our vision reality. Which for us was running around a state park to find any leaf that was orange in early fall. Every step of the way she helped us with suggestions when we needed them. As the day got sooner we realized we needed more than just a photographer and Jess offered a bunch of amazing options. We found our coordinator through her, who we also adored. When the big day came I barely had to worry about anything knowing I had a team behind me that I could trust. Now with the wedding over and having the photos back I don't think we could've made a better decision!

We chose Jess for our engagement and wedding photos and would recommend her services to anyone seeking a quality and personal experience. She is on top of it the entire process; from helping us choose the right location for the first shoot all the way through ordering prints, Jess was so amazing to work with! Reliable communication, good recommendations, and she listened and incorporated what we were looking for as a couple. For example, she delivered many beautiful photos highlighting details of the venue (an old mansion/museum) and the general atmosphere in addition to portraits and candid shots. We also appreciated the quick turn around for receiving photo proofs and the final product. The pictures turned out amazing, she did a great job of capturing candid moments, which was important to us, and making our family and friends feel at ease in the absurd, 101 degree September weather. She also helped us stay relaxed with her calm presence and warm demeanor. Jess is the total package!

​I first met Jess when she was taking the photos for a wedding I was in. Jess was super friendly, made everyone feel comfortable and gave direction well. It’s never fun taking pictures when the photographer can’t manage a large group and it was so nice that she handled such a large group well and still made it fun. She was excellent to work with. I ended up booking a headshot appointment with her after the wedding.

As we began the wedding planning process, we were nervous about wedding photography. As two individuals that are fairly camera shy, we knew it was vital that we hired a photographer that allowed us to be ourselves, created a comfortable environment, and provided a safe space. Look no further than Jess! Jess quickly made us feel safe and at ease during the entire photography process. Not only did Jess create amazing photos, Jess also came beyond prepared to both our engagement session and our wedding day! As a couple with zero idea of the process of wedding planning, Jess led us in all the right directions. Jess is not only an amazing photographer, but she also builds a strong, lasting relationship with you. I know we will continue hiring Jess for all future life events.

​Jess has been our go-to photographer since the beginning. I always felt that the quality of the photos and the editing were exactly what I was looking for. Very effortlessly natural and in times even candid. The focus was always on my partner and I and our time together. Receiving the product after the engagement and wedding was such a joy. The mood and vibe of my wedding was captured perfectly. There was an excellent balance of what I asked for in terms of family, friend, party, couple, and detail photos. My wedding was very dark/moody and she easily accomplished the similar goal with the photos. I felt heard when there were issues that arose the day of and we always worked to solve it in a way that we would get the photos we needed. In addition, she chose and AMAZING second photographer that she knew would jive with us as well. Lastly, they were excellent at wrangling large, rambunctious families and remaining professional which I’ll be forever grateful for. I’m so, SO impressed with her talent. I have and will continue to recommend her to anyone I think would be a good fit for her.

​Jess was everything we could have hoped for in a wedding photographer - kind, fun, talented, prompt, organized... It's difficult to look for a photographer you're engaged. How do you know what you're looking for when you're sorting through websites and have never had professional photos taken? We were so lost. After talking with several photographers and sorting through heaps of websites, we're SO GLAD we went with Jess. Her website reflects her as a wedding photographer so if you enjoy her work there you won't be disappointed. She was so kind and knowledgeable in our online meetings, and once we booked with her we instantly felt like we had a friend on our team. She helped plan our timeline, our next steps, recommended vendors, and even advised us on how to be more eco-friendly. Her presence translated well to our wonderful engagement shoot as well - it felt easy and fun and all our doubts about taking nice photos on the day of melted away. She had so many gorgeous shots from just one hour - we were blown away. Jess is a wonderful choice for couples like us that value warmth, authenticity, and ease and could use a gentle guide. Her photos are full of love and light, she is engaging and creative, subtle yet takes charge. Our wedding day was full of so much love in so many different forms, and she was there quietly capturing it all. We love looking back on our (enormous, beautiful) wedding gallery as a way to be transported back to the day, which is exactly what we hoped our wedding photos would do. She got everything - intimate portraits, classic shots, big family photos, whimsical scenes, detail photos, and even silly group shots. She captured how beautiful I felt and made it all feel genuine and easy. Plus, she is so professional and got the photos and sneak peeks back to us SO QUICKLY. We never regretted hiring Jess as a photographer and don't think you will either. We strongly recommend her.

This woman is a GENIUS hire her immediately!! We could not be happier with Jess and our wedding photos. We were looking for someone that could capture our wedding day in very natural, relaxed photos (and also do the more formal portraits), with a style that is interesting and brings out depth of color without being overly editorial. We also wanted someone very experienced in photographing folks of all different skin tones, we had a diverse wedding party and didn't want anyone to be over or under saturated. Let me tell you she delivered on all fronts and more! She got so many great candid shots and also suggested poses and movement that created very interesting but natural looking photos. We weren't originally planning to do an engagement shoot, but the fact that Jess includes it in her packages is really amazing. By doing that beforehand we got used to the camera and working with her (neither of us were comfortable in front of a camera), and also got a chance to see which kinds of poses we liked and didnt like, which helped a lot on the day of the wedding as well. And we also got amazing engagement photos! Jess also went above and beyond and actually traveled out of state (we were living in NC at the time but wedding was in MN) to do the engagement shoot with us there, it was so much fun! One other thing that I was not expecting from a photographer was so many suggestions on how to make our wedding more eco-friendly and have less environmental impact, but she is really passionate about green weddings and gave us so many good ideas. She directed us to a silk flower rental site that we used, and it was perfect. The speed with which she provided us with the final photos was also surprisingly fast, We got 100 gorgeous sneak peek photos the Monday after our Saturday wedding, and the final gallery not long after, which was far above my expectations. She really captured every detail of the wedding, even things I didn't think to specify but I'm so glad she got. Going through our album really feels like reliving the day. Oh and she also suggested a second photographer to work with her based on the specifics of our wedding, and the person she got was absolutely amazing as well and it was so great to be able to get shots of multiple events happening at once. Lastly, Jess is just a wonderful person. She is so sweet, kind, down to earth, funny, and just fun to be around. She is clearly very passionate about what she does, and is also very organized and professional. We absolutely loved getting to know her, and everyone at our wedding loved her too! 11/10 recommend!!!

We could not have picked a more perfect photographer! Jess answered any and all questions before the big day and went above and beyond on the day of. Our photos turned out wonderful and she helped to coordinate ourselves, our party, our family, and even pictures with our dogs perfectly. She made us feel so comfortable and at ease during the whole process. Amazing photographer!

​Wedding planning in general was incredibly daunting to me (as I'm sure it is for many). Scrutinizing over timelines, trying to think of every detail of the day, booking everyone that needs to be booked-- it is nearly impossible to do alone! I was so incredibly thankful that we booked Jess as a photographer, because she did SO much more than just take our (BEAUTIFUL) photos. Jess takes the time to truly get to know the couple through the months leading up to their big day. She is always available for questions regarding any part of planning because she wants to make sure the couple is taking time to savor the entire wedding experience. She ensures that the both partners are calm and free of stress on their wedding day so that they focus on what truly matters- celebrating their love- which absolutely comes through in each photo. I highly recommend doing an engagement session with Jess. My husband and I are not picture people, so taking the time to learn to be comfortable in front of the camera before our wedding was super helpful. Not to mention Jess works incredible magic, where you don't even feel that she is there. Her presence is so calming and encourages you to be authentically yourself, that being in front of camera doesn't feel awkward at all. Looking at other wedding photos I had always thought "Gosh, Ben and I will never be able to do that-- we both overthink EVERYTHING way too much!" But Jess didn't over-pose us or ask us to do anything that didn't feel genuinely us. I am so in love with our engagement and wedding photos- I legitimately look at them every day. Jess captured the gorgeous colors of our day so beautifully. I truly cannot recommend her enough!!!

Specifically, on our wedding day Jess was the all-star. She went above and beyond. The photos were high-quality and she had everything very well planned out. She always was a step ahead and helped make the evening flow smoothly by coordinating with others -- from venue staff to the DJ. But she was also friendly and engaging with our guests, and not only helped capture our treasured memories, but truly helped add to them. Jess was an incredible photographer to work with! She was flexible in creating just the experience my wife and I wanted for our small elopement ceremony at the Minneapolis City Courthouse. We very much appreciated her initial consultation phone call where she listened to what our vision was and encouraged us to reflect on what we actually wanted and how she could help that vision come to life. As someone who is not always comfortable in front of the camera I can't recommend Jess enough - she made the experience fun and easy and it's definitely reflected in our photos! We had general ideas of where we wanted photos taken but completely trusted Jess and let her take the creative lead which made the process very low stress for us and we can't thank her enough for that. We're looking forward to working with Jess again in the future and would whole-heartedly recommend her to any couple looking to have someone capture their special day.

I can't possibly thank or recommend Jessica Knighton Photography enough. Jess was WONDERFUL. From the start, we really clicked with her personally and we could tell she understood not just the kind of photos we wanted, but the kind of values we were trying to infuse into every aspect of our wedding day.​ There are lots of talented photographers out there, but Jess's easygoing personality and her commitments to sustainability, community, and celebrating diversity set her apart and made her a natural fit for us. Planning a big wedding means you'll basically be in one of two moods for several months: 1) freaked out and drowning in details or 2) thrilled and grateful you get to do something so special with the one you love. Jess ALWAYS kept us grounded in Mood #2. She clearly loves what she does, and her enthusiasm for celebrating all the weird, wonderful diversity of love in the world is infectious. And the PHOTOS! What can I say about them? Looking at my wedding photos makes me feel like there's a big warm bubble of sunlight rising up inside my chest. Your wedding day goes by really quickly. Everybody knows that, but it's still surprising. At the end of the night you're exhausted and sweaty and your face hurts from laughing and crying and you're still like, "wait, did that really happen?". That's where the photos come in. It did. It did really happen. And when you've got a photographer like Jess, you don't just get evidence that it happened, you get a story that preserves that day in every little and big and spontaneous and planned and funny and poignant detail. We're gonna look at these photos for years to come, and our kids are gonna laugh at our ridiculous clothes, and we're gonna tell great stories about that bright, beautiful day. We absolutely loved working with Jess! We had a wild wedding situation and Jess jumped in with both feet! She helped us so much with not just photography, but also general wedding questions, and timeline things. My husband is biracial, and it was important to us to find a photographer who had experience photographing people of color. Jess had the experience, understood why it was important, and delivered amazing photos of our diverse family!  Most importantly, we felt so supported by Jess before, during, and after our wedding. She was right there with us every step of the way! Her associate Marina was also amazing. We are so grateful to have worked with Jess, and we love our wedding photos!! Jess is the best!

Jess was really amazing to work with! My wife and I are extremely grateful to have found and had Jess as our photographer for our wedding. When we were looking for a photographer, we wanted someone who had experience with working with a diverse clientele. We came across Jess's Instagram and was hooked right then and there. Her photos were amazing and she had various clients from different backgrounds. Also, we did not want someone who put that lame filter that is trendy for some reason. It's the one that makes everything brown, which Jess did not have or do. When we met with Jess, she was extremely nice and listened to what we wanted for our photos. We also loved her practice on sustainability. That is something my wife and I have instilled in our values. My wife and I were going to have a small legal wedding then a reception a couple months later. Jess was booked for our reception but was able to our legal wedding. Jess was so easy to work with. We had so much fun during the photo sessions. There was lots of laughing and positive energy all together. She helped make our special day even more special. When we got our photos, we were in awe how great they were. My wife and I are beyond grateful for Jess and cannot recommend her enough when people are inquiring for a photographer for their engagement and wedding photos. For our reception, Marina, the associate that Jess connected us with, was amazing as well! She was also fun to work with and took some amazing photos. Overall it was a extremely amazing experience. Working with Jess was no less than incredible. The booking process was super easy and Jess had thoughtful recommendations on shoot locations. I was pretty nervous about feeling awkward during the actual shoot, but Jess made my partner and I super comfortable. And the final photos we received are GORGEOUS. 10/10 would recommend.

We had an amazing experience with Jess! She was professional and kind, and her work was amazing!! She captured both the formal and candied moments of our big day. I’m absolutely obsessed with our photos! One of the best parts of working with Jess is how comfortable she makes you. My husband hates having his picture taken and was so happy working with her! She directed just enough to get the nerves out and get great photos but not so much that we felt like statues. I also struggled with camera nerves and while I was excited, I struggle with body image and anxiety around how I was going to look and photograph. Talking about that with anyone isn’t easy and especially with someone I hadn’t spent much time with(since I was out of town I only met Jess over zoom prior to the week of the wedding). But she was so kind and open that I found it easy to speak to her! If you are looking for a kind, talented, fun, and professional photographer Jess is your gal!

​Jess is an amazing person and an excellent photographer! Jess came highly recommended to me and I know why. Prior to photoshoot, Jess was a great communicator and very flexible with our needs. We were only going to be in town for a few days and wanted to take engagement photos accompanied by fall foliage. A week prior to our photoshoot, we scheduled a phone call with Jess where she provided ideas for photoshoot location and advice on what to wear. She even suggested we meet earlier in the day to ensure that we had the perfect natural lighting. On the day of the photoshoot, Jess was prompt and arrive early! She did a great job at posing my fiance and I without making us feel awkward or uncomfortable. The turnaround to receive the photos was super quick! Just a few days. Overall, we loved working Jess and would love to work with her again some day!

Working with Jess was the best photography experience we could have asked for! She was extremely thorough, made us feel very comfortable, and took fantastic pictures. She really helped make our day less overwhelming and was on top of getting every photo we wanted and then some. She made our vision come to life in her photos! I would recommend her to anyone I know. Everything Jess did exceeded our expectations. From the pre-wedding questionnaire/sheet to help us as well as Jess get organized, to the offer to use her inventory of recyclable wedding items (I.e. ring box, umbrellas, etc.), to touring our venue with us in advance to get a feel for the grounds, and of course working with us day-of to capture all the moments that were important to us, managing our camera shyness incredibly well by taking our thoughts off the fact that we were the center of attention, and finally to sending us a short video clip approximately two hours after our wedding ended that we didn’t know she was taking. And we haven’t even gotten to the quality or quantity of the photos yet. We loved every single photo. Yes, all 1300+ of them. We have looked at them time and time again and are always taken back to our special day. We cannot thank Jess enough for absolutely everything. We will cherish the moments she captured for us forever.

Wow, we had such a great experience working with Jess for our wedding! I hate having my picture taken, ​but Jess did a great job making us feel comfortable in front of the camera. We had a fun time taking the "getting ready" photos, and the family portraits went smoothly. Once our reception started we were in the zone mingling, and once we received the photos we were amazed at what a great job Jess did floating through the space capturing so many great moments with our guests. We are extremely happy with quality photos and were pleasantly surprised with the number we received! I will (and already have) recommend others to work with Jess for their weddings.

I contacted Jessica three days before I propose to my girlfriend on Valentine's Day 2021. Jessica took the opportunity without hesitation. She took incredible proposal pictures in the freezing cold of February. My fiancée and I decided that we wanted her to do our engagement and wedding photos. She was very proactive in her communication. She told us what to expect from her and she delivered on her promises. Our families were very appreciative of her quality pictures and how she included so many beautiful details about our wedding day. My wife and I recommend Jessica without reservation. We knew that Jess was going to be amazing when she was just as excited about our wedding as we were. She listened to what we had envisioned for our wedding day, and helped us create the most perfect timeline to document each special moment. She even went out of her way to scope out the ceremony location ahead of time so that we could have the best backdrops for each of our photos. Jess did a fantastic job guiding us through the family portraits and making sure everyone knew where to stand and how to place our hands-which was super helpful in keeping everyone looking relaxed and comfortable. As she took photos, she would sing, say happy comments, and give compliments to bring out our natural smiles. My favorite part during the session was the "couple's photos". She was quick with snapping candid photos of us being stoked about the day, and also gave us great suggestions for actions/poses along the way. Looking back at the final gallery, we are so impressed with the way Jess captured, as well as showcased, the beautiful Fall foliage along with our movements and sentimental moments. She is incredible! We would highly recommend Jess. 10/10. She is a delight to work with and really knows how to capture the perfect photo, which can then be cherished for a lifetime!

Jessica was incredibly helpful and fun to work with! My (now) husband and I were looking for a photographer that would help us create fun memories and make taking photos not feel like an obligation. She helped us to be comfortable in front of the camera, and helped us to make a plan and set a schedule! If we had any questions, she was happy to answer them. She was easy to communicate with, and we had no worries about photos day of because we felt we could trust her to take good photos. She delivered the photos in a timely manner and they were incredibly easy to work with! I'm grateful she was on our team, and I highly recommend working with her!

Jessica did an awesome job with our wedding photography. She helped us come up with a photography timeline for the day and made sure everything got done on time! She was so easy to work with and made the poses feel natural. Our final pictures were absolutely beautiful.

Jessica was incredible during both our engagement shoot and the day of the wedding. She made a point to sit down with us and get to know us a little bit before having any sort of shoot, which made the day-of feel like meeting up with a friend instead of just a photographer. She was also willing to work with us on dates, since our original date got pushed back a bit due to COVID. She went above and beyond on our wedding day and was literally everywhere. SO many people remarked afterward about how great the photographer was! She did an awesome job of capturing candid shots and shots that didn't feel super staged. Jess also does an awesome job talking you through awkward shots--to get the ones that look candid, it is a lot of walking in a weird way or posing in a way that feels unnatural because Jess knows what that pose will look like on camera. The shots all turned out awesome, and for both the engagement shoot and the wedding day, she got us a sneak peek (which ended up being a ton of the photos!) within a week. Very happy with our time with Jess and with the finished product! I also love that she is conscientious about where to get photos printed so that it is a local company that is environmentally friendly, and that she provided both high res and web sized images so that we could easily upload to social media for all the people who couldn't be at the wedding. 15/10 would recommend Jess to anyone looking for a great photographer!
