The authenticity really shines through in how comfortable and happy we look. Jess also has an amazing ability to find opportunities for the most gorgeous shots that I never would have expected. y amazing. Both in her availability in the planning beforehand, and as soon as she arrived on site, I felt comfortable and confident that she would capture our day with attention and artful care. One of the things we both felt, and that we heard from our family and friends, was that people almost never saw her, but she seemed to be everywhere at the same time, which I think is an amazing trait in a wedding photographer. When we were thinking back to the day, neither of us could remember really ever having seen her after the initial family photoshoots. Once the photos came though, it was clear just how present and focused she was, from morning to evening! She also put together the online album really quickly with the edited photos, which we were so grateful for, to be able to relive the day just a month or so after.
The portraits and live shots are all equally amazing. She really captured the joy and love of the day. My husband and I spent two hours looking through the photos when she sent them, crying and laughing from the memories. Jess took way more beautiful artsy photos than I was expecting, and we love them.
Our only small pieces of feedback, which you can probably just ask for beforehand (we didn't think to), is to get some more shots of friends and various groups of people talking and dancing, so we could have seen our friends and family in the moments we weren't around too, and some dinner table and speeches shots, and then maybe to have taken a few more shots of us alone and together. But those are small things, and things we had not thought to plan beforehand or known to ask for in the moment, so mostly just a recommendation to make sure to have a plan for all the photos you want beforehand!
We truly are so glad we went with Jess, and were beyond thrilled with the results. We completely recommend her to any couple looking for an excellent, cool, and warm wedding photographer to help capture the most amazing day. Thank you, Jess!!

She also doesn’t try to take a ton of posed pictures and really focuses on capturing real moments throughout the night, which is a huge reason we wanted to work with her in the first place! our engagement shoot, Jess made us both feel so comfortable in front of the camera, and captured beautiful photos digitally and on film. This continued at our wedding, where she captured so many little candid moments which we’ll cherish for years to come. Jess was exceptionally efficient with the relatively small number of posed portraits we did - we unexpectedly got them all done before the ceremony, which was a huge bonus, and that efficiency did not sacrifice the quality (or quantity) of the finished product at all! Jess is probably the right photographer for you if: you want film and digital photos, you want timeless, largely candid shots, you love flowers, you want a photographer who will largely stay out of the way and capture the beauty of your wedding day as it unfolds, and/or you want a photographer who knows how to create genuine moments to capture so that even the “posed” pictures don’t feel so posed. Jessica not only helped us quickly find a new date, but she also checked in on us, as a friend, which meant the world to us as we navigated this crazy time. My fiance and I ultimately got married in our home on our original date without all the frills of a normal wedding. Fast forward to December 2020 - our "new" celebration date and we ultimately had to cancel again. We decided to have an intimate vow renewal with our immediate family and Jess was there to capture the wedding photos we didn't get to have back in March. And man, she captures AMAZING photos! We met her on the day of and she was perfect for what we were looking for. We didn't want our photography to be overly time consuming and wanted them to feel like a part of the day without being a distraction from spending time with friends and family.

My husband and I are really not that big on taking "posed" photographs. We also had a very high bar in terms of what we wanted our photographer to capture (as I'm sure everyone does). We wanted interesting, thoughtful, candid photos of the day that captured every moment and emotion. We also wanted someone who could take spontaneous photos throughout the day and capture some amazing moments without "posing". They exceeded every expectation on this.

Her photos can speak for her talent - but let me tell you that you want someone like Jess by your side on the most exciting and nervewracking day of your life. I had gained (more than) a few pounds and wasn't feeling the most beautiful, but Jess and her second shooter knew exactly which angles to shoot and how to really encourage us (on a cold, dreary Cleveland winter day) and coax out the love and happiness we all had. Our poor bridal party suffered through outdoor photos (my request) and once they saw the photos it was universally agreed that the experience was worth it. Jess took the time to really get to know each one of us and my bridesmaids walked away so impressed that the photog knew them by name. Jess was so patient and kind with everyone, even with our demanding parents as they asked to take more and more photos. Bottom line is - a photo doesn't just reflect the subject, it also reflects the personality of the person behind the lens.
