We met with Jessica a few weeks before our wedding, and she helped us narrow down how we wanted our wedding day to flow. She helped us build a timeline, focus on what is important to us, and ensure that we come up with a photo list that captures everyone we want photographed. She was extremely realistic about the timings it takes for photos, and helped us decide what package we needed for photography. Prior to the wedding, I found a few photos of the St. Francis gardens that I loved. Jessica had not seen this part of the gardens before, so she traveled to the venue for our walkthrough to understand potential photo shots for our first look. This went above and beyond what she needed to do and really shows how much she cares about her clients and about the artistic integrity of her work. On the morning of our wedding day, Jessica arrived at the getting ready spot on-time and was calm, flexible, and genuinely happy to be there. She silently orchestrated photos in the background and did not interrupt the flow of our day. For our first look, she gave great instructions and truly made my husband and me feel comfortable (neither of us had been professionally photographed previously). Jessica and her supporting photographer Morgan were absolute rock stars with the children in the family photos. My family still comments on how amazing they were with kids. At the ceremony, Jessica was everywhere, capturing all the special moments, and all our guests on the dance floor. I really cannot speak highly enough about Jessica. Immediately on her website, she features an array of diverse couples along with bright, vivid beautiful colors in addition to natural candid-looking photos. With this being our first professional photoshoot, we were nervous with how they would turn out but she immediately made us feel comfortable. For example, she helped our aunt get professional lighting for her phone pictures and was happy to talk to us about our common interests. That was especially appreciated as we had had to scale down the wedding to a micro-wedding due to the health crisis, making all of our plans change up at the last minute. At the wedding, she and her second shooter were naturals with our wedding party. They handled our stubborn (but adorable) 4-year-old ring bearer with casual ease and managed to get a lot of good shots of him. She did a fantastic job of getting truly joyful shots of everyone there. Critically, she made our photos look like a celebration, rather than the photos feeling awkward with our 20-person guest list. My husband and I have spent all morning passing our phones back and forth, sharing our favorite shots (which is all of them). We're so thrilled to share the photos with our loved ones that weren't able to come due to health concerns. It is a special blessing to have such lovely memories of our special little night!

In terms of our particular experience, we decided to go with Jessica for both our engagement and wedding day photos, as well as chose the option of an additional shooter for our wedding day. Price-wise, we found Jessica to be middle of the road; however, for the reasons captured above and below, she is an extraordinary photographer, and in that respect, an exceptional value. For our engagement photos, we really appreciated how Jessica sought to understand what was important to us, in terms of geography, values, and special locations unique to our personal experience and relationship. We ended up doing engagement photos at three separate locations. Jessica made thoughtful recommendations around what to wear, timing of locations to optimize the daylight, and poses to take—on the latter point, her ease and sense of humor helped foster a natural dynamic and made the photo session enjoyable. On our wedding day, Jessica proved to be deft in her ability to capture all of the key and intimate moments of the day without imposition, allowing events to unfold naturally. She was also seamless in her ability to collaborate with our videographers (Winter Studios who we also highly recommend), helping us capture the best of both perspectives. Following the wedding, Jessica provided us an “early peek” of events throughout the day which we loved sharing with family. Within a couple of weeks, she followed those up with a much larger set of photos, organized by the day’s events. We cherish these photos, and are now working with Jessica to make tailored photo albums for each of our parents. All in all, choosing Jessica to be our photographer was a great decision for us. We are especially grateful for all that she did to help make our day as special as it was, and for capturing for a lifetime, the joy that we and our loved ones shared that day.
