Diamonds repeatedly fell out, broken prongs, etc. and an assessment from a reputable goldsmith confirmed that the rings were unwearable. Despite these glaring flaws, Jewelers on State refused to take full responsibility, offering only partial fixes that didn’t address the core issues. Deceptive Practices: I specifically requested lab-made diamonds, but Jewelers on State’s own appraisal (which took a month longer than promised to receive) revealed that the wedding band contained natural diamonds instead. This is a serious breach of trust and violates both ethical and legal standards in the jewelry industry. Misrepresenting diamond types can lead to serious repercussions, including legal action, as customers are entitled to full transparency about what they are purchasing. Their denial of this fact in their public response only further damages their credibility. Broken Promises: The jeweler explicitly told us they would honor a letter from a specific professional jeweler if it confirmed the rings were structurally unsound. We went through the time and effort to obtain this letter, which clearly stated the rings were unwearable, and yet they failed to honor their commitment. This demonstrates a complete lack of integrity and willingness to follow through on their promises. Misleading "Custom Work": I strongly discourage anyone from using their "custom work" services. Despite claiming to create custom designs, much of their work is not done in house, and every small change takes an excessive amount of time. The process is far from what most would expect when investing in a truly custom piece. Unacceptable Customer Service: The jeweler has repeatedly failed to respond to our calls and text messages, despite claiming publicly that they want to fix the issues. They ghosted us entirely after promising to address our concerns, making their stated desire to help feel insincere at best. Additionally, their return policy was not available on their website at the time of purchase, and they claimed that it had been there since 2022, this is false, as proven by internet archives. Dishonest Public Response: The jeweler publicly claimed the engagement ring was flawless and that they used lab-created diamonds. However, the appraisal they provided and the goldsmith assessment proves otherwise. Their public response misrepresents the facts, further eroding their credibility. Ongoing Frustration: The rings spent more time in their possession than in mine, yet the issues persisted. Ultimately, it was only through my insurance that I was able to recover the monetary value of these disastrous rings. This process caused immense stress and disappointment, and the jeweler’s lack of accountability made everything worse. Final Thoughts: I would never recommend Jewelers on State to anyone looking for quality jewelry or ethical business practices. Their inability to deliver on promises, refusal to honor clear commitments, and misrepresentation of materials are completely unethical. If you value your time, money, and peace of mind, go elsewhere.
