JF Studioz Luxury Photo & Video

Warning to couples getting married: Run. Everything in me didn’t want to write a negative review especially for a black owned business but it was that bad. We booked the luxury videography package, for 8 hours of wedding day coverage, up to 4 different angles, drone footage, best wishes from guests and 3 final videos which includes a teaser, highlight and 30 min documentary. The team the day of was lazy. It was a drastic difference from our PREGNANT photographer (a separate vendor) who captured our wedding beautifully. On multiple occasions during our family pre ceremony and bridal party post ceremony photography sessions, the video team was no where to be found. We had to get our parents and coordinators to find them during key moments where they were supposed to be present recording. We now know from guests footage the entire team was too busy dancing together & recording for social media instead of recording our wedding. They had the exact timeline the photography team had and missed several sentimental moments with the brides dad, brides mom presenting family heirlooms, grooms mom and bridal party. When we received our sneak peek teaser and highlight video we were shocked. As a couple we felt embarrassed while watching and guests who saw the teaser recalled the day being romantic and emotional. We got party footage. It didn’t include the drone footage we paid for and we only found out our drone footage was corrupt after we inquired about it. The only positive is weeks later they recovered the drone footage. In our original highlight video, our heads were cut off several times including during our first kiss. The moment the bride and father walk down the aisle is very far away. These are key moments for a wedding that can never be recreated. At the time of this review, we have yet to receive edit revisions for our 5 minute highlight video & no sign of a documentary video. It wasn’t until the general manager stepped in that we received any consistent communication post wedding. Our guests recorded better moments than the videography team and we requested an unplugged ceremony. We are now thankful our guests didn’t listen. The video team focused on our reception with dark dancing footage and choppy edits. Likely because they weren’t present for key pre-reception and family moments. In my opinion they don’t specialize in capturing moments. Our highlight video didn’t even include the groom’s mother singing a surprise song for him or the parent dances. Overall if you want a wedding video that looks like a club promo then this is your company. We sent back edit notes and were promised multiple delivery dates that were never met. The company lacks communication and professionalism. I’m not sure if there’s a shortage in staff. But I gave week grace periods before calling after 3 deadlines they promised and they rarely respond via email. Don’t promise a deadline you can’t keep. Most clients are fine waiting if they know when to expect the final product. Full disclosure: My husband is a professional photography and I am a video producer for a living. We’ve worked weddings before. We wanted to have faith in this business because we know what it’s like being black owned vendors but I would never recommend booking this company for a wedding. Run and pay for a company that provides quality, pays attention to detail and delivers to their clients in a timely manner. Just because it says “luxury” in their title doesn’t mean that’s what you will get.

I booked JF Studioz for photography/videography services in January 2021 after receiving good reviews from their past clients. Although I eventually booked them, the decision never set right. I wish I would have listened to my conscious. I am very easy going and easy to please, so the fact that I am so dissatisfied and in tears as I right this review is evidence of how upset I am with their service. Before I get to the photos....I want to point out that I booked an 8 hour photography package. Although I didn't think I needed the time... I wanted to ensure I was able to take photos before the ceremony. The photographer arrived on time....took a few photos....and stood there. I had to give him ideas of what to take pictures of...although I gave him a shot list prior to the wedding. As the ceremony start time approached, he informed me he did not have time to set up his lights! Sir.....what were you doing this entire time? My photos were HORRIBLE! The photographer did not put any effort into the shots. I did not GET A SHOT WITH MY HUSBAND ALONE AFTER THE CEREMONY!! I took photos with the wedding party.....but NOT my HUSBAND! This was a totally upsetting experience. I hate to write a negative review but I will never get this moment back and neither will you if you book JF Studioz. I advise you to stay away from this company. I would have been better hiring 3 inexpensive photographers, rather than paying for the 1 photographer I received with this low quality of work. The highlight video was better; however, I am sure you can find MUCH better. Our heads were chopped off during the most of the ceremony. I shared my experience with their team, and after having to get in touch with them multiple times, they offered to look at different angles for the video. I am not sure how that works....I have yet to receive a revised documentary video. They offered a free session with my spouse and I for photos, but according to them, my photographer was one of their best. What would be the point in being unsatisfied and upset again? Please be aware and take this review in account before making a decision.

"The work for this company is pretty good. They offer a variety of packages to accommodate what you might be looking for. I am mostly pleased with the quality of the work. What I'm not please about is: My original point of contact disappeared, and I was not made aware or properly transitioned. Photographer did not follow the formal shot list and was all over the place. The formal photos were not ""placed"" correctly (people lined up unevenly, group not centered in the obvious archway behind, extra props from the ceremony still lingering and not moved, etc.). Photographer did not use his professional eye to make sure all of the formals were setup perfectly (group photos off-center and not aligned correctly, mother-bride picture is awkward, groom's pant leg needed constant adjusting but was not paid attention to) Photographer wasted time showing us pictures when pictures needed to be taken constantly having to chase down the new PoC after the work was completed to get everything in order. I'm still constantly contacting them to reveal pictures I know were taken but aren't included in the gallery. Though the quality of the work was decent, I cannot gloss over the lack of professionalism that would make this an overall quality experience. The more I look at my pictures, the more I wish I had recruited some family members to help make sure we got the ones we wanted."

Phenomenal Experience!!! We were lucky enough to have Chad as our photographer and he was just phenomenal! Not only are we extremely impressed with his photos, he was truly a joy to work with on our wedding day! Thank you so much Chad!!!!
