We had Jimi and his assistant Steve capture our wedding a few weekends ago and I cannot express our gratitude enough. Jimi was wonderful to work with from start to finish - easy to communicate with, knowledgeable, passionate, and helpful beyond measure. We could not be happier that we chose him to capture our day. His passion and skill are evident in the first conversations with him, and they only continue to shine through on both the day of the wedding and in all of the photos. I was able to relax and enjoy the day knowing that all of our special moments were being captured. We received so many incredible photos from our wedding day and truly cannot stop looking over them. Jimi captured not only our posed photos, which we adore, but incredible candids throughout the entire day. I have not stopped looking through the pictures and feeling like I am reliving the day each time. Jimi also took the time to capture the smaller details of our day, which are so special to look back on. We have wonderful pictures of the venue, our flowers, the cake, the decor, etc. that I can look back on and cherish. We truly cannot recommend Jimi enough and will without a doubt be using him again to capture any future events.

We had a wonderful experience with Jimi at J.Ferrara Photography Inc! When we postponed our original wedding date due to COVID, he was flexible and allowed us to reschedule for the following year. He photographed our wedding beautifully! We had such a great time reliving the day while we reviewed the photos! He took tons of great shots including both traditional portraits and fun candids. Wish I could give J.Ferrara Photography 10 stars because 5 doesn’t truly describe how good their work was and how great they have been to work with. After having to postpone our wedding because of the pandemic, I reached out to all of our vendors about a new date in 2021 and J. Ferrara was quick to respond and let me know that they would be flexible and work with me on our new date. I’d read horror stories about vendors refusing to switch dates or demanding more money or not responding to inquiries and J. Ferrara was exactly the opposite. They were kind, helpful, and professional. They even worked with me and shot my backyard “mini-mony” in place of our engagement shoot that we weren’t able to have. When we got our pictures back from this they were INCREDIBLE. Better than I could’ve ever imagined and definitely better than I’ve ever looked before. We’ve gotten so my compliments on these photos, they are really just SO good. Do yourself a favor and hire J. Ferrara photography to capture your special day- you won’t regret it!!!

There was never a doubt in my mind that I had to book Jimi to be my wedding photographer. I am obsessed with each and everyone of my pictures. Jimi is an artist through and through, and I put my trust in him completely. I chose Jimi because I love his style, and how each one of his pictures is a work of art. He sees things in a way like no other, and I 100% recommend just letting him do his thing. He knows a good shot when he see’s it, and each one of my pictures are better than the rest.

I HIGHLY recommend Jimi and Natalie, who teamed up to shoot our wedding at Nostrano Vineyards this August. We couldn't be happier with the entire experience we had with them! They are professional and so easy and fun to work with, and the results are just beautiful. I was a little worried at the end of the night because they were so discreet that I didn't see them around much other than for the portraits-- but they captured thousands of photos of the entire day, including so many special moments, while we were busy having fun! They really didn't miss anything. They also maintained excellent control over the family portrait session to make sure we got through it quickly so we could join the party-- not an easy task with so many excited people around. Mixed in with the more traditional photos are some unique and stunning shots that play with light, color and focus. Beautiful! We bought the digital package but we love so many of the photos, we will be purchasing an album. I highly recommend Jimi and Natalie if you are looking to check photography off of your stress list and have beautiful photos of your special day!

Selecting a photographer was a difficult process until we met Jimi. Knowing next to nothing about photography other than using our iPhones, my bride and I were at ease meeting with Jimi at his studio. The entire time he talked about his vision and artistic eye when it comes to capturing weddings which you could see throughout his studio and the work we viewed. Some girls dream of the dress, some dream of the flowers, I always dreamt about my wedding photos. Studying animation and motion graphics in college, I’ve always been extremely particular about how photos look. Besides marrying my best friend, having the most amazing photos was the number one on my list. I am over the moon estate about the photos that Natalie and Jimi took of my wedding. I’m beyond impressed with their professionalism, how relaxed they made everyone feel, and above all, the jaw dropping absolutely gorgeous photos they produced. When they sent they wedding preview, we were currently driving home from our wedding in New York (we live in the midwest) and I made my husband pull off to a rest stop so we could look at them together. Gorgeous does not even begin to describe the photos that were given to us. Nothing was missed either, having both of these talented photographers work on my wedding was such a joy and blessing. Scrolling through the her 1300 photos, I was able to see moments I missed, see happy faces, and see myself enjoying the start of my beautiful marriage. I think giving Natalie free range (my list of what I absolutely wanted was small) ended up being better in my favor! There are a few shots that are bind blowing, my favorite being of one they took with an umbrella, which f you are looking through their gallery, you cannot miss it! If anyone is looking for a photographer in the Hudson Valley, or even in other states, I would recommend Natalie and Jimi a million times over! I wish I could give them more than 5 stars because they really were a 10/10! Thank you both for helping capture these precious moments of the best day of my life!

Hiring Jimi and Natalie was one of the best decisions I made for my wedding. My father is a retired wedding photographer, and I've seen some of the ugly that can happen in the process. I didn't experience any of that with Jimi! He was super energetic and professional, punctual and highly skilled. Both he and Natalie were fantastic the day of my wedding, not in the way at all- yet they captured so many great moments! My wedding day was one of the best days of my life- and Jimi and Natalie really, truly captured all of it. They were quite patient through the family portraits and managed to still get all the other shots we were after. The entire process was truly a great experience, from the signing of the contract even through today, months afterwards! My photos are stunning, I feel like a rockstar and my family and friends were also super impressed. Investing in photography for your wedding may seem daunting, but J. Ferrara Photography is worth every penny.

My husband and I are so thrilled with our wedding pictures. The love that we have for each other was truly captured in every single picture, it is going to be hard to pick for our album! J. Ferrara Photography captured my day perfectly. Jimi is great to work with. He is friendly and truly puts you at ease throughout the process. However, I must say, as the bride Natalie made my day feel special. She was always there to help me whether it was to help me with my dress or pin a piece of hair. She truly made this the right decision to have them as our photographers. She was calm and understood what we were looking for. We love our proofs so far and everything went great at the wedding!

Horrible experience. Paid way too much-for a much shorter-than-usual wedding event-for unusable photographs. The only photos I can use from our big day are distance "artistic" shots. He rushed us and took all of our portrait shots from extremely unflattering (low) angles. He then acted unprofessionally when we politely and maturely expressed our concerns. He first blamed my makeup artist in an email to us (she absolutely had nothing to do with the unflattering angles) and then called her behind my back and bad-mouthed my husband and I! Completely immature and unprofessional. When she suggested to him that we do a redo of some close-up, portrait shots to "make things right" he flatly said that it didn't matter because he wasn't concerned with us referring him to anyone because we "don't live near him!" Horrible customer service and zero class. We waited almost a month for our images. We wasted $2,600 (for ONE photog) for only a 4 hour event to receive only digital images with no touch-ups and no album/prints. Not sure what all the positive reviews are about on here, but I'm really sorry that I convinced my husband to go with him-because my husband wasn't impressed with his work from the beginning. Lesson learned. We have about 10 great shots out of nearly 700 and zero portrait/up close photos that are usable for printing or framing. Such a sin. So heartbreaking.

They say when you find “The One”, you just know. That was definitely the case here lol. The first time I saw Jimi's work was in High School! Several of my classmates had done headshots with Jimi, which led me to his view his website. On his website I truly admired how he was able to delicately grasp raw emotions and the small details you will always want to remember. It was back then, a teenager in high school, that I knew who I wanted to capture my wedding. Sure enough years later I was now engaged and planning my wedding and right after picking my venue, Jimi was very next stop. (And last, as far as photography.) I’m so happy with our engagement pictures and what we’ve seen of our wedding pictures. What made everything even better was when I met Natalie! She’s amazing! The two of them together are dynamic. One simple word can sum up this review: Talent!

We found Jimi and his team at J. Ferrara Photography Inc. from Kool Events. I have fond memories of looking through my parents wedding album from 1970 and being able to imagine their day, and I wanted to be able to look at our album decades later and have the same feeling. We met with Jimi at his studio and I was sold after seeing several examples of his work. Even the portrait shots, seemed to have a natural, relaxed feel to them. Natalie did our engagement shot and to be honest my fiancé and I had so much fun that day, I couldn’t wait to see what they were going to do for our wedding. Jimi and his assistant Kat did an amazing job with our wedding. The photos are absolutely stunning and capture the love and fun of our day. I think the best review one can give is a recommendation to others. I suggested him to one of my bridesmaids and her and her fiancé ended up using J. Ferrara Photography Inc. for their wedding as well!

I was looking for a photographer for my wedding on 4/26/14. I came across Jimi's website and immediately knew I wanted him to photograph my wedding. When my fiance and I met him in person, it was just further confirmation that he was extremely talented and easy to work with. We instantly clicked and I had total confidence that he would deliver beautiful pictures. The day of the wedding ended up being rainy, but JImi was so great working with us knowing the one thing I wanted were outdoor pictures of the venue. (I chose Ramsey Country Club primarlily because of the beautiful grounds and stone castle) Every time the rain let up a bit, Jimi led us outside to take as many shots as we could. We did this a few times, and I am so appreciative that he did that. It showed how flexible he was with having to change his equipment to be inside or out, risking his equipment getting wet, and caring about his clients' wishes. He works very quickly and just snaps away. He has quite an eye because you don't even feel like it's 'work' having to pose this way or that. And that's the confidence I meant - he just knows what areas and shots will work best. The pictures were available to us so quickly, I think about 2-3 weeks after the wedding. Every picture came out beautifully and captured our personalities and our love for each other. I am so thankful to Jimi and his assistant for doing such a great job photographing our special day. Needless to say, I highly recommend J. Ferrara Photography!

If you are looking for natural, unposed photos, that capture moments, Jimi and Natalie will absolutely deliver! My husband and I couldn't be happier with the photos of our wedding day, from prep to reception, to details...everything was amazing. every time I look at photos from my ceremony I feel like I'm there all over again! They really captured the "mood" and "feelings" surrounding the ceremony. We just picked our photos for our album and I have no doubt in my mind that it will be gorgeous! Can't wait to see it!

Kevin and I decided to go through James and Natalie, after seeing these amazing pictures captured on this page! We used James for both our engagement party, engagement shoot, and wedding. We are currently awaiting our wedding photos (being we were married less than a week ago) but as far as the engagement photos go they were beautiful not "posy" as I call it. It was almost as if me and kevin were just alone the two of us in the moment. I loved that on our wedding day he made sure things went timely and structured. The group shots were done quickly and we were able to enjoy our whole cocktail hour. The two of them work great as a team , they moved through out the reception without us even know they were there. Which is exactly what we wanted in the moment shots! Great job guys Jess and Kevin :)

Invisible, yet stunningly attentive, this fabulous team truly captured all of my big day's moments (large and small) and exceeded all of my expectations! I was overwhelmed with gratitude looking through online album. All the big moments were captured exquisitely: the exchange of rings, the kiss, first dance, etc, but my absolute favorite shots were those fleeting moments that only true experts like Jimi and Natalie could capture: my dad giving a thumbs up as he walked me down the aisle; the gorgeous sunset behind me and my husband as we kissed after the ceremony, my mother doubled over with laughter as her sister (the catcher of the bouquet) awaited garter-adornment; my parents laughing in our kitchen as we got ready. Only true professionals can capture these ephemeral moments and I am so glad we were in the capable hands of Jimi and Natalie! Also, they are awesome, chill people. Natalie helped immensely to unveil my dress (as she photographed) and helped bustle me throughout the night and they both are just flexible, easy-going, easy-to-work with folks. My wedding was my second experience with Jimi; he also did my sister's wedding a few years before. I've been in other bridal parties before and the photographer never stood out to me before. I remember for my sister's wedding the attention to detail when Jimi was taking pictures, it had to be the right light and right positions. I also remember not noticing him much during the reception. A few months later my sister gets her wedding album and I was in awe. It was amazing! His attention to those little details made for great pictures. I don't remember seeing him much during the reception but he captured every moment there. I think that makes for a great photographer, someone who blends in and is unobtrusive and get captures these amazing moments. When my husband proposed, Jimi was the first person I had to book. Photographing this once in a lifetime event is so important, it's something we will one day show our children. I wanted to make sure Jimi was available before I booked the reception hall, that's how much I love his work. Today I am still trying to figure out which pictures I want for my wedding album because they took so many great pictures. It was great to have him and Natalie at my wedding, wouldn't have done it any other way!

Jimi and Nat were amazing to work with! From my photographer stalking pre-engagement to finally booking Jimi a week after engagement - it was pure bliss! I was instatntly drawn the Jimi's photography style - not the traditional wedding photos - I was looking for a more candid edgy style - and he delivered! His studio is amazing and he always made me feel really comortable - at my engagement session (which was only me bc my husband stinks!) and the entire day of my wedding I was at ease! He was able to capture all of the details I had been working so hard on creating for my big day - and I honestly hardly even noticed he was there snapping away! It was the best day of my life - champagne glass in hand - and I couldn't have picked a better photographer to work with! I cannot say enough good things about Jimi. His energy, professionalism and artistic eye are unmatched. All of our expectations were more than met and we now have the most gorgeous images to remember our special day. I was married on September 16th on the Glen Island Sound.. Jim was so friendly to all of my friends and family and we couldn't have asked for a better photographer. He handled my very traditional and cultural ceremony extremely well. And though it was absolutely foreign to him, he was able to capture all of the significant moments in our ceremony. I loooved James! Besides his photography being amazing, he is just all around a nice person with a great personality! After the wedding I had people raving about him and how great he was. Our wedding pictures came out so beautiful I could not be happier with them! He really caught our personalities well in all of the photos. He also had the pictures to us less then a week after the wedding.

Jimi had taken some family portraits for my mother, so I knew his style and generally what to expect. What I didn't expect was how many beautiful pictures I would get and not even know he took them! I knew very early on I wanted to hire Jimi for our wedding photographer. I am from Nashville and decided to be a good little daughter and get married in the same place as my mother before me in New Paltz, New York at Mohonk Mountain House. Let's just say that I was not one of those girls who had dreamed nor planned my wedding since the time I was a little girl and had no idea the hardships of a wedding let alone a destination wedding! Now let me tell you something all future brides that read this review, there is a difference between photographers that take so-so pictures and use photoshop to put writing and effects on a picture and J. Ferra. J. Ferra is a photographer that takes amazingly beautiful pictures subtly and with a God-given talent. He has the gift to take gorgeous pictures. The wedding was even more beautiful than I had remembered it was when I saw the pictures - they were truly beautiful. Another aspect that I thought worth noting is that J Ferra is very un-invasive. Many of the greatest pictures were taken in real life moments - it was not just posed pictures - it was the beautiful moments that captured the wedding... There is not a better photographer in New York. I assure you. TRUST ME: I researched over a hundred and requested samples of each's work upon my decision (photography was on my three most important wedding things list so I researched it thoroughly) and J. Ferra work was, hands down, un-matched.

The artistry and quality of the photographs is simply stunning, and our wedding album is the best I've ever seen, it really evokes the atmosphere and emotions that we had on the day, if anything everything looks lovelier in the pictures than it even did live. Jimi really gets to know the personal spirit of the couple and doesn't just take 'standard' pictures, so in the end every shot tells another little part of your story.

We didn't hire a videographer and Jimi captured all of those fun moments with still pictures. They are fun and creative. He is very quick so you won't be taking pictures for hours.
