Located in Baltimore's Hampden neighborhood, Jill Andrews Gowns specializes in custom bridal and evening gowns. From fully custom gowns to antique restorations, each dress tells your unique story. We always highlight your individual style, couture fit, and personal service. We also carry veils, jewelry, tiaras, gloves, everything but the shoes to make your bridal look complete!
-=Custom Gowns=-
At your initial appointment with Jill, you'll have an in-depth conversation where you discuss your inspirations, wants and needs, and the vibe of your event. During the conversation, Jill draws your design. Fabric, silhouette, color, and details are all customizable. watches, motifs, photos, magazines -- anything that inspires your vision for your gown. Jill will be inspired with you as her muse, creating a dress just for you.
-=Restorations=-
Creating new gowns is always fun, but something old can make a great “new” after a thorough renovation. If you have a family heirloom gown or veil that you would love to wear, we would love to work with you! Heirloom services range from repairs and textile stabilization to complete gown redesign and re-making.
-=Alterations=-
In addition to Jill's original creations, the JAG staff does in-house alterations for wedding and event gowns they make as well as gowns purchased elsewhere. We go beyond a dart or a hem: we can re-engineer a gown or re-style it for a new year.

Prices vary from client to client, and are based on the scope of the project, hours of labor, fabrics, trim, etc.

Jill Andrews can turn anything into gold. She is a master seamstress who can turn a simple gown into something that looks custom made.
I'm convinced that Jill is a legit miracle worker and if you need any alterations done to any of your garments, especially a wedding dress, do not hesitate to entrust her with them...

I had fallen in love with my wedding dress seven years before I got married, and by the time that rolled around the only one left in existence was the sample size 4 (let's be real, it was more like a size 0) that the model wore in photos. I reached out to Jill prior to purchasing to give her a general idea of my nowhere near size 0 measurements, and she eased my concerns and assured me that we would be able to make it work. And boy, did she deliver! I felt incredible, and comfortable, on my wedding day in the dress of my dreams thanks to Jill. Not to mention she is also an extremely supportive, fun, and encouraging person to be around! And her studio space is divinely charming as well. She is uber talented, and I even ended up purchasing some gorgeous Swarovski crystal earrings she created that I wore on the big day (and will wear for other occasions for many years to come). Perpetual thanks to Jill and her team!

etired (he did alterations for me 15+ years) and I needed someone here who I could trust (key word!) to do the work with precision. My friend's wedding dress was intricate and I was aware of the attention to detail given to her gown... so that was enough for me to reach out to the studio. I initially communicated with Jennifer, who was extremely pleasant and helped me schedule an appointment that fit my work schedule. I came to the studio (which is adorable by the way!) with a small list of alterations that I already knew needed to be done, but I also asked Jill and Jennifer to be honest with me about anything else the dress required. They both made me feel comfortable right away, provided an explanation for each alteration, and demonstrated the quality of their work. They also made me feel confident that the alterations would be long-lasting. The cost was what I expected to pay and I had factored that in when choosing my dress originally (this is a must - don't forget that part in your budget). At a later fitting, Jill was also able to take out a layer of fabric from the skirt of my dress to make it feel lighter/airy, since my wedding was the end of August (hot!). She and Jennifer even made an itchy piece of fabric become un-itchy. Like magic :-) On the wedding day, I felt absolutely fabulous in my dress. I could sit, stand, squat, walk, dance for hours, hug people, and twirl around without any concerns - and I think that really tells you something about Jill's and Jennifer's skills. If you're looking for meticulous technique and expertise, these gals are for you!

ay. The dress was originally made in 1947 and then worn again by my Aunt in the 1980s. Jill was able to restore it to the original after my Aunt added some 80s flare. The dress turned out to be the most talked about part of the wedding. I've never had so many compliments paid my direction!!! Jill and her staff met with me for multiple fittings. They were easy to reach and always one step ahead to make sure the dress would be a success! I can't thank her enough :). Highly highly highly recommend!!!

ra was very responsive by phone. I would suggest calling rather than email. Sara and Jill listened to my concerns about my dress. I ordered my dress from a shop in Delaware and they ordered me a dress way to big. I brought my dress to them and they did an amazing job. Sara took in over 8 inches, hem the dress, added detachable straps, and more. Really what did they not do, they are able to do anything you need done. I cannot thank them enough. The dress looked great. I went for one of my fitting; both Jill and Sara spend over an hour with me. They were able to take in the dress without changing the dress. You don't get this type of treatment at a bridal shop like David’s bridal. I would suggest this great team to anyone looking for alternations or looking to have a wedding dress made.
