Lee came to the venue the day before the wedding and scouted out the best spots. The day of the wedding, he handled everything: telling us where to go, how to pose, and was conscious of our timeline The reception had pretty dim yellow lighting – Jim Lee had some extremely bright lights that really made the photographs come out extra beautiful. When we received the photos, we were amazed! There is so much character and style. The photos are absolutely incredible. The day of the wedding was dreary, cloudy, and very grey (it rained too)– and the photos end up with beautiful clouds and colors. Many people told us our photos are edited really well! Many of the photos came out looking like paintings. He isn’t just an incredible photographer, but also incredible at photoshop/editing. He captured the special moments – when we were walking between spots, the florists setting up the arch, a perfect shot of the flowers leaving the hands of the flower boy, when a bicyclist photo bombed us - he turned the moment into an incredible photo. Jim Lee’s photos and style is god tier! Beyond all expectations! Highly highly recommend!

he photo was about to start dancing and laughing in the next second. Without thinking much, I messaged Jim right away, and was lucky enough to have him as our wedding photographer in the end. Jim's professionalism in shooting is of course no doubt: not only did he learn about our love story carefully before shooting, and designed various shooting scenes in advance; he also found a unique and beautiful shooting location for us. The entire shooting process lasted for 8 hours. I thought it would be very tiring, but I didn't expect the complete opposite. The 8 hours were full of laughter. Jim is not only reliable, but he also knows how to light up the room, making it easy and fast for us who have "lens phobia" to enter the shooting state. On the day we received the photos, my husband and I were very moved, and our family members far away in China also couldn't help but check it over and over again, and kept sending voice messages on WeChat to compliment the photos. The photos, although only with color adjustment and correction, are already perfect as if they were retouched. A big thank you to Jim for helping us frame these happy moments, capture the playful smiles of lovely people. uple portraits, Jim was great at suggesting different poses and ideas and the outcome looked soooo good. During the different ceremonies, I didn't notice where Jim stood but then I saw so many shots that surprised me at how he got the angle just right! It was very easy to communicate with Jim during the pre-wedding weeks. We had a meeting to talk through timelines and my plans, and then emailed for everything else. When choosing a photographer, it was important for me to see a portfolio that didn't overly photoshop and knew how to use natural lighting. I'm not a photographer so I don't know the correct words to describe what I wanted, but my checkboxes was no overly saturated, or sepia, or too drama/romantic/dark. I wanted to capture lots of emotions and moments in a natural but also creative way. The moment I saw Jim's portfolio, I knew it was exactly what I was looking for. I highly recommend hiring him! All the pictures showed a story telling element, the lighting was beautiful, and the framing of where people were was a great variety and soft artistic touch.

We did not read any of his reviews until after getting our photos. And we had no idea that everyone else loved him as much as we do! It feels so good to know that we are not the only ones who are head over heels about him! It was such a pleasant pace when shooting with Jim. We did not feel like we were rushed at all, even though there was a time limit. He covered many angles without staging us, capturing just how we really each, and that really shows in our pictures! We were so stressed about not knowing how to take candid photos. However, with Jim’s help, and trust me when I say this, you’d have nothing to worry about. His persistence in perfection shows in every aspect. It was towards the end of the day; my fiancé and I were already getting so tired. I was going to take the easy way out, by wearing my ugly flats instead of my white heels, (thinking the wedding dress would cover those flats anyways.) “Didn’t you have another pair of shoes?!”, Jim insisted. He notices details as little as what shoes I was to wear, to make our pictures great, and we could not be any happier with them! He has eyes on things that others do not, and he never fails to capture our moments, capture us. In just 3 days after our photoshoot, we were screaming in excitement when Jim sent us some sneak peaks. And silly us, thought that the “sneak peaks” were already the final products because they were so close to perfect that we did not even think photoshop was needed. We were super ecstatic when the pictures were ready to be viewed in our gallery, especially when the turnover time was delivered as promised! Everyone else loved the album as much as we did. And most importantly, they love us in them! Not only does Jim bring passion and skills to his work, but he is such a sweetheart with patience and a sense of humor! He has made our photoshoot such a memorable experience since we have never been this intimate in public before! He’s highly responsive, accountable, and professional. We booked an eight hour session with him for our wedding day, and we are very satisfied with the overall process and final photo set from him. The communication with Jim Lee had been very smooth and effective. Before the wedding day, he had several calls with us to check with us what kind of style we want the photos to be, and based on our needs, he gave us some recommendations about the actual places for photo shooting, the types of clothing which can best fit the scene, and the estimated time we might spend at each scene, etc. Another fact that made us surprised is that after the wedding days, it only took a few weeks that we received the photos from him, which is ahead of the estimated schedule. He answered each and every one of them in a timely manner and provided great advice which clearly demonstrated his level of experience and passion for his work. I greatly appreciated this and felt more at ease and never like an inconvenience as some vendors may tend to get frustrated or short with lots of questions. Planning: He took the time to ask us what we like to do, then he crafted a beautiful day / idea that we could work off of. My fiance and I tweaked small details here n there and selected 3out of the 4 locations we went to. Then day of we were even able to squeeze in on extra location based on Jim's recommendation which we LOVED. Promptness: Jim started our shoot right on time and worked hard til we were done! First timers: my fiance and I had never done a photoshoot before, but Jim gave us the advice we needed and let us feel comfortable in a way that I loved how it showed up on camera. We could see his creative juices at work as he snapped impromptu pictures in front of makeshift scenes and props, such as a parked Volkswagen van, random street art, and off the reflections of a rear view mirror of a scooter. Knowing we couldn't wait to share our happiness with our family and friends, Jim handpicked and sent us pre-edited photos the very evening of the wedding! They were so close to perfect that we didn't even think Photoshop was needed. Jim processed and delivered the final photos in a reasonable timeframe. When we received the wedding photos, we were ecstatic. They were so beautiful and captured each moment perfectly. He brought some lights that was utilized as photo prop, it turned out amazing in some pictures but it over-exposed others, which we couldn't switch out. He allows you to pick about 10 photos for additional edits but we felt that there wasn't a big difference except for the brightness and exposure. Overall, we recommend Jim if you are looking for some romantic photos, he knows exactly the poses and guides you through them. He is very professional and committed in getting the perfect photo for you.

We scheduled with Jim in March for our pre-wedding photos in June. He gave advices and recommendations about location, outfit and flowers. He also tried to get to know our stories and our hobbies so we can arrange for settings to best tell our story. Unfortunately we landed on a day with clouds and thunderstorm in the forecast. I was really worried until Jim said “we can get even more saturation with photos during this weather”. During the day of the shooting, everything went so nicely, everyone was laughing and joking despite the gloomy weather, and we took pictures until everyone felt satisfied that we got something great before we called it a finish (although there is a time limit, we did not feel rushed at all). Lastly, I would choose Jim again for future events just because I know I can trust him for quality and candid photos!!!

I knew Jim was amazing because we did our engagement session with him, but I was a little bit nervous because my bare parents’ house and a Chinese restaurant are not the best environment to capture wedding photos. However, Jim and his team worked their magic and the pictures were absolutely phenomenal. We were absolutely blown away!! They capture the day perfectly and tell such a happy story. When my fiancé and I started looking for a photographer – we knew we didn’t want the posed romantic photos in front of mansions or gardens or at the most popular places in NYC. We wanted something more natural and meaningful to us. We interviewed so many photographers and looked through so many portfolios that our heads were spinning. I almost settled on a random photographer when I magically was looking through Yelp and stumbled across Jim and I knew I had to have him as our photographer. I was so nervous that he would be booked that I was scared to open his response email! Needless to say, best decision ever – we are absolutely in love with our engagement photos! We took Jim to our old stomping grounds in Jersey City to a neighborhood where he hasn’t shot before. However, he really knows how to set up good shots and is constantly on the lookout for better shots. We tend to think that we’re a very awkward couple so we were nervous to do all those romantic looking shots, but Jim is an artist and was able to capture our version of romance. We’ve done some photoshoots before and only liked a handful of photos, but with Jim, there was barely a handful of photos that we weren’t in love with. We can’t wait for him to document our wedding day!

Even if you don’t have a clear vision for your photos, he will guide you and make sure you take the steps during the prep process to have beautiful photos. Highly, highly recommend!

those trivial moments and emotions of us interacting which can present the unique chemistry between us in the pictures. Not every photographers pay such attention to details as Jim. The professionalism starts in the way how he tried to understand our stories, our needs and our preferred style. We both loved the nature and he brought us to many pretty places including the forrest, national park, lake side, farmland and the vineyard. I remember we started early in the morning and ended in the late evening. We really appreciate his patience and enthusiasm. Regardless of the cold weather and long shooting hours (and the hunger as we didn't had enough food on the road 🙈) he made sure we can have all the sceneries from the morning clear sky to the stunning sunset by down. The dinner after that night was so rewarding and fulfilling as we all know we have had a lot of great photos despite the long day! We even did some indoor casual shootings which are so funny and definitely a bonus to our wedding album! It was such a wonderful trip and amazing experience shooting with Jim. We are so glad to have Jim and are actually planning to hire Jim again for another set of photos! ♥️

I was worrying that we didn't know how to pose nor working with professional camera, but it turns out there's nothing to worry about because Jim is a kind of photographer who can not only take amazing photos but also guide you how to pose. Location wise, you don't need to concern if you've picked a location you've never been. Jim will do his research before hand, and also, he could be very spontaneous when he saw a epic background, he would just go and start taking photos randomly. Which was very fun and full of surprises when you saw the pictures and you realized : "Now I know why he chose this spot". Jim insists the best for the photos, that's why I followed his instructions and never had a doubt. The pictures turned out Amazing! Everyone complimented our photos. We knew we've picked the right photographer. Jim speaks English, Chinese Mandarin and also Cantonese. Highly recommend to the couples who are considering hiring a photographer, Jim is the best!

y. He is not your typical wedding photographer, his photos are artistic and unique. He has an eye for special locations, beautiful moments, and the beauty in people/relationships. We did a first look and he found the coolest location at the top of Saint Anne's warehouse with bridge views, then we went on a walk to the venue and on the way, stopped and took epic photos in other various places. When we got our photos back, we were BLOWN AWAY. They are incredible and I am forever grateful to Jim for his hard work and passion. He also got the photos back to us only 2 weeks after the wedding. Literally, every one of the 800 something photos were so good. His English is not perfect, but do not let this be a reason for not hiring him. It didn't matter at all. He was perfect over email leading up and on the day of it wasn't an issue. He directed us perfectly. He is one of the most talented wedding photographers in my opinion. The second photographer that Jim brought, Chen, was also great. If you are looking for an artist and a true talent (not just your typical cheesey wedding photographer), hire Jim!

e first time we sit down with Jim in a coffee store in the city talking about his photo ideas/past experience, we have felt that Jim has his own artistic perspectives regarding to take use of light/shadow and we believe that he could not only record what is happening on our special day, but also capture beautiful moments of us that might be neglected by others. When he is working, he knows where we should stand and suggested us what to do to make the picture look good. He talks very friendly and shows a sense of humor so that both of me and my wife feels very happy and relaxing when photos are taken. This is very important since if you do not enjoy the time it would be hard for photographer to create awesome works! In order to make sure the photos meet his expectation, he is fairly patient to direct us correct or better way to do things and for some interesting photo ideas we need to try some actions for several times. He usually would not stop trying until he thinks he has one picture that might be the best. This would help make sure that all the efforts everybody takes in that day ends up with great photos! Besides his professionalism, Jim takes his role seriously so that he works as hard as possible. In order to find a time when time square is not crowded, Jim suggested to take off for shooting very early in the morning and I could tell that he was on time and well prepared so I guess he might not have too much sleep that morning! I could not respect his working attitude anymore. I can even remember that Jim helps us choose what to wear based on his understandings to fashion and previous experience of shooting for other couples. All of this helps us build trust on Jim and we highly recommend anyone who needs a great photographer to consider Jim and you would never regret that!
