From the initial tour to our wedding night, everything felt important, intentional, and we felt so taken care of it. Jimmy's is such a stunning and unique venue, but the team as a whole, service, food and experience of it all is just top tier. We worked with Ella and she was just - the best. She made us feel special and heard throughout the entire process, and we knew we were in the best hands without any hesitation. We went into our wedding day with no worry in the world and so excited for our friends and family to enjoy the atmosphere, good vibes, and delicious food - and that is exactly what happened. Everyone was raving about the venue and all it had to offer! We will never forget the day we had and we could not have imagined getting married anywhere other than Jimmy's! 12/10 recommend!

Jimmy's Jazz & Blues Club is a striking wedding venue located in Portsmouth, NH. This century-old property has been lovingly restored, retaining its authentic charm with an added dose of modern style. Nestled in the heart of the town, the venue dates back to 1905 and is a beacon of arts and culture for the local community.
With a maximum capacity of 250, this property offers plenty of space to celebrate your milestone occasion with the people you love. It's also well-suited to intimate celebrations. The stage, at the head of the room, is framed by a soaring archway. Cutting-edge audio, lighting, and live-streaming equipment are fitted throughout the space. Exposed brick and tall ceilings add to the attractive space. Just outside the main space, behind a wall lined with windows, couples and their guests will find a convenient bar setup for all of those celebratory toasts.
Impressive cuisine is central to every event at Jimmy's Jazz & Blues Club. Executive Chef Brian Stuart prides himself on using the freshest produce available, which is also locally sourced where possible. The result is an array of unique, New Hampshire-inspired dishes. ogether. Jimmy’s is unique, you want to explore every nook, and it offers so much. Everyone who works at Jimmy’s is kind, hospitable, and takes pride in the venue. Rachel, our venue coordinator, was very professional, informative, and available for any and every question we had. The food and drinks were gourmet at every occasion from the private tasting, the lunch for the wedding party, cocktail hour, dinner, to late night snacks. The gallery was a spacious place to hold our cocktail hour, offering our guests a variety of lounge furniture and stunning art to admire. The stage and lighting made for some unforgettable entertainment and allowed our wedding band Nightshift to really get the party started. All of our guests came up to us and said this was the coolest place they’d ever been to for a wedding and they wanted to see a show there and all of them were raving about the food. Jimmy’s is warm, inviting, unique, and most importantly, FUN!

Most venues have 1 or 2 things that stand out. A nice room, bad food. Cool staff, venue is in the middle of nowhere and boarding. Jimmys is in a class of its own and I'll break it down as why.
The Staff - Rachel and her team are one of the best trained and most pleasant staffs to work with in the Northeast - which I will tell you right now is the single most important aspect of your wedding venue. They made our day so special we had 225 people on New Years Eve, a day no one wants to work, but they showed up with smiles, worked their asses off and made us feel like our guests were the only thing that mattered. This is a special team.
The Venue - Unique, beautiful, accommodating and quiet frankly unlike anything else your considering - your guests will be talking about how amazing this place is and any future couples will be jealous of your wedding. You should be inquiring with this venue just to see and feel the space, "its a vibe."
The Food - Chef Nate is a master of his craft. Not only delivering amazing food, but getting it done quickly so you and your guests can get to the party. 225 people, dinner was over in 50 minutes - THAT my friends is unheard of in the wedding industry.
Location & Accommodation - Portsmouth is a perfect place for a wedding. We had so many options for rehearsal dinners, after parties, hotels Arbnb's etc. - I understand a wedding day is important, but the day before and after add to the whole experience and having options verses some venue out in the middle of nowhere is way more important than you think.
Finally, the party. The room is built for FUN. Guests who like to party can literally take center stage and rock all night to a concert level sound and light system. Others who might like to socialize can hit the bar, people watch from the balcony or just hang in the back and enjoy the show. There is something for everyone.
All in all this venue is one of a kind, again - I know all the other ones your looking at, they are...nice. But none of them are special. This is where you need to check out to have your wedding.

a music venue, so they are highly experienced! The best thing about this venue is how truly cool the space is. There are so many different areas to mingle in. The optional cocktail hour in the art gallery added a whole other element that truly made this venue like a 2-in-1 venue! The lighting in the space is dynamic, which elevated the space even more. I highly recommend booking a big band to fill the stage and make it feel like a show! We loved our wedding at Jimmys so much!

, we knew our search was over—we wanted something different, and Jimmy’s Jazz was unlike any venue we had seen.
The space itself is stunning, unique, and so much fun. Our guests are still raving about how beautiful and memorable it was, and many have told us it was the most fun they’ve ever had at a wedding. The venue really lends itself to that energy. Having the stage was such a standout detail—it felt like having our own private concert, and our band was genuinely excited to perform there.
The food was absolutely incredible and exceeded our expectations. The team was so accommodating with our requests, from swapping out sides to offering several mini desserts instead of a traditional cake, and even adding a mocktail option. Everything was thoughtful, delicious, and beautifully executed.
The flow of the night was seamless. We loved being able to use the art gallery for cocktail hour—it was spacious, visually striking, and perfect for guests to mingle. Multiple bars kept things moving smoothly, and the bartending staff were true rockstars. The team also flipped the main room from ceremony to reception with impressive efficiency and care.
Rachel, the Event Director, was an absolute dream to work with. She answered all of my many questions with patience and warmth, made me feel completely comfortable and confident throughout the planning process, and helped ensure everything ran smoothly on the big day. The entire staff was professional, attentive, and genuinely wonderful.
As an added bonus, we had access to the rooftop, which allowed us to take incredible photos with downtown Portsmouth as the backdrop. We love Jimmy’s Jazz and can’t wait to come back for a show. We truly cannot recommend this venue enough—especially if you’re looking for a stunning, unique, and unforgettable wedding experience.

how cool Portsmouth is! We absolutely loved working with Jimmy's and our wedding was absolutely perfect. Our guests raved about the Art Gallery where we hosted our cocktail hour and were blown away by the actual reception space. All of our guests loved the food and hors d'oeuvres at our cocktail hour. The Jimmy's staff went above and beyond to make it an unforgettable day for us and for our guests. If you are looking for a vibey, cool, moody and romantic venue for your wedding that is unlike any of the traditional ballrooms/wedding venues you are accustomed to seeing, Jimmy's Jazz & Blues Club is the place! Pro tip: make sure to get a live band because the acoustics in there are incredible and will keep the party rocking until the lights come on. heir team until the very end, they were a complete joy to work with. As musicians, my wife and I wanted a unique wedding venue to have a full on party, blending the traditional with non-traditional. We knew right away that we chose the right venue for its aesthetic, but were truly blown away at how amazing the staff and everyone we worked with was. Ella and Rachel took care of our every need and question, and on the day of the wedding, Theresa ran a tight ship making sure we stuck to our timeline and that every aspect of the operation went smoothly. We were able to truly just have fun celebrating with our loved ones. Also, the food. The food was outstanding and I can confidently claim this to be the best food at a wedding, ever. By all standards, the food was unreal and guests haven't stopped talking about it. In addition, many of our vendors came from Jimmy's preferred vendors list and they were just as exceptional as the venue itself. We were also able to have our cocktail hour on the 1st floor in the art gallery. This was just so cool and introduced our guests to the unique, super fun night ahead of them. Jimmy's was perfect in every aspect, and made the entire process fun and easy. We couldn't be happier and can't wait to attend shows at Jimmy's for years to come. This is a truly special place!!!

my's decorated for Christmas and we had brought in additional greenery to supplement their decorations which worked out great. We worked with Rachel from the beginning throughout the whole process and she was wonderful. She was extremely responsive and thoughtful and helped us with her perspective throughout the planning process which we really appreciated. The food was some of the best that I've ever had at a wedding and the guests said the same. We opted for a buffet serving style which worked out great and the guests seemed to enjoy. ted with our bakery, took care of setting up our cupcakes, and even offered to return the cupcake stand to the bakery when we forgot it!
The food was outstanding, and everyone loved it - especially the seafood chowder and the braised short ribs - HIGHLY recommend those. They accommodated our vegetarian and child attendees beautifully as well, and the feedback was that those dishes were also delicious!
