Jim's Formal Wear

on Friday and on Wednesday was our final fitting. All measurements were accurate and none of the complaints were due to waist size or length. i am so disappointed with the quality of merchandise we had experienced renting from Jim's Formal Wear that I have to warn others to avoid them. Imagine our surprise when we showed up and found the following: 1) Two of the shirts had holes in them on the breast. Large visible holes from the previous users flower pins. 2) One shirt was missing a few buttons down the front. 3) On 2 pairs of shoes, the whole insole was loose and coming out and kept bunching up while walking/moving around. 4) The slim fit pants were NOT even close to slim fit. They were horribly baggy and looked awful on the tall thin men. Three men could've fit into one pair. They looked so awful on them I had to purchase two pairs of the pants (at replacement cost) and have them altered the day before the wedding so they didn't look like fools. This cost me an additional $270 over and above the rental fee. We notified Jim's of the issues but Jim's would not work with us nor give us a refund and told us to work with the local retailer who we picked the suits up from, but really none of this was their fault as the suits were sent to them this way. I would say the local retailer was maybe partially responsible as they should've opened the bags prior to us coming in and confirmed the items were of good quality but this is solely Jim's fault for sending out crappy items that should be removed from circulation. again i would advise - DO NOT USE JIMS FORMAL WEAR unless you want a nightmare scenario right before your wedding day.

ere confused when the guys went in to get measured. They weren't sure where to enter the measurements or didn't call them in, etc. We had to make many phone calls to ensure everyone's measurements were in the system and their suits would indeed be delivered to their store. Luckily, everyone's suit came in on time and in the right colors and sizes. They looked great!

the detailed pricing and gave him a form to send to his groomsmen and the fathers to get measured as they were all out of town. Each got their measurements in and requests for pant type for the groom and groomsmen slim fit pants and for the fathers standard and pleated. We also ordered the child size version of the same tux for our two ring bearers. When the tuxes came before the wedding the boutique called to let us know when they were in which was on time and the fathers and groom went to pick them up and try theirs on. Everyone’s fit perfectly as did the ring bearers and groomsmen. The tuxes looked nice and clean and everyone was pleased. Also dropping off after the ceremony was quick and easy with no additional charges. Overall the process was seamless and exactly what we expected.

ir location was just across the street from our venue, which gave my Groomsman’s the ease of picking up their tuxedos before the reception, while also the convenience of simply leaving them in the hotel lobby the morning after to be brought back to the store. As for measurements, given my Groomsman were all over the Tri-State area, having the ability to send them to any Jim’s Formal Wear store in the country made getting them fitted super easy. In addition to that, they also offered great discounts on the Groomsman’s tuxes, with the Groom’s tux free if a certain number were rented. As for the day of the wedding and the few leading up to it, a number of things began to unravel. Given the only store the tuxes could actually be picked up at was the one in Gettysburg, this narrowed the time for a number of my Groomsmen to ensure their tuxes fit. Most could not arrive until the Friday before, leaving less than 24 hours to send out any articles that did not fit; and there were a number of pieces that weren’t even close. Two of my Groomsmen’s shoes were the wrong size, and two of the shirts were completely measured wrong. Thankfully one of my guys brought his own French cuff shirt, otherwise, we wouldn’t have had one. Two of the suits themselves also needed to be drastically hemmed, again due to bad measurements. The store staff itself was also constantly being interrupted by patrons, given the store mostly served as a souvenir store for Gettysburg, not a suit rental. Fortunately, everything worked out for our wedding day, but too much disorganization and mistakes to attempt this store again for rentals.
