. Our venue manager, Meg Sharley, at the Dacor Bacon House in Washington, DC, recommended her highly and we were extremely happy we selected her. Initially, my daughter and her fiance weren't sure what kind of music they wanted at their wedding. Jessica helped them explore a number of options and made several recommendations to consider. Once they decided on live cello and violin for the ceremony and reception, they reached out to Jessica's recommended couples. Because she has such a vast network of musical talent in the DC/MD/VA metro area, she was able to immediately put them in touch with several excellent musicians. The bride and groom were able to view videos of the couples and their music and make a final selection. All of the musicians provided for consideration were so talented that it made the selection process a bit of a challenge! When the wedding needed to be delayed because of Covid 19 social distancing restrictions, Jessica worked with us to immediately reschedule the musicians for the new date. When one of the musicians experienced a medical issue that prevented them from performing, Jessica recommended musicians of equal caliber who were available for the new date. We were all thrilled with the gorgeous background music they provided before, during and after the wedding. It was the perfect backdrop for the bride and groom and their special day! Jessica was so helpful and easy going and worked with us throughout the unexpected ups and downs of having a wedding during the Covid 19 pandemic. Her calm, competent presence made everything as easy as possible during trying times. We highly recommend working with Jessica of JJ&T Entertainment for all your musical needs! She's absolutely wonderful.

We chose the Jerry Lynn Duo after hearing him play, and we decided we wanted a guitar and cellist to perform. Jessica was very quick to respond, and CC'ed both the DJ and musicians in each e-mail for thorough communication. Jerry Lynn was quick to respond and flexible with all requests. DJ Debbie was slow to respond via e-mail but was willing to schedule phone calls. I never got the chance to speak with the Jerry Lynn Duo, unfortunately, but the music I was able to hear was beautiful. I heard all wonderful things in regards to their professionalism and flexibility.  We did have some concerns with DJ Debbie. I completed her DJ Coordination sheet but that needs to be transferred to a word document where it can be easily edited to better fit each wedding's needs. The lines were tiny and I had to draw a lot of arrows in order to fit names and songs in certain spaces. I think the organization of this sheet caused confusion on both ends. Although I mentioned a step-father/daughter dance many times via e-mail and phone, there was no room on the coordination sheet so I forgot to add it. Debbie had this dance nowhere on her itinerary the day of. Thankfully I had a bridesmaid check-in, and we were able to catch this slip up before it caused any issues. We started later than planned, and for some reason Debbie seemed more stressed by this (if anything, I would have thought this would have given her more time to prepare). She also mispronounced names after asking the wedding party how to pronounce their names. Lots of little things. However, we also threw a lot of new and unplanned things at her, like asking her to announce the WVU game's score throughout the night, as well as getting rid of a lot of the activities on our itinerary and pushing things to be sooner. The DJ tends to be the glue of the reception, bringing everything together, but that didn't quite happen. We are still satisfied with her services, but we felt it was important for bride's and groom's to have as much information as possible to be able to make the best decision for themselves and their wedding day.

I had called at least three other DJ companies prior to working with JJ&T and the other DJs were much more eccentric over the phone and did not match with our personality. Terry was very easy to work with and even showed up earlier than he needed to just to make sure any guests that arrived prior to the start of cocktail hour had music. He worked with the catering manager and kept the night flowing smoothly, and made sure the focus was on us, unlike some DJs which make themselves the center of attention. Our guests had a great time and the dance floor was packed throughout the evening. I would definitely recommend JJ&T Entertainment and DJ Terry to any of my friends in the future.

What I will remember and cherish most though is that Chelle and her partner found and learned to play for the ceremony a song that my 12 year old son had selected for us (Rewrite the Stars), not realizing that at the end of the song the lyrics suggest the couple breaks up. As an instrumental the song is quite beautiful and as a surprise, my now husband and I wanted to include the song in the ceremony. The expression on my son’s face when he realized his song was playing during the ceremony was priceless. I can’t thank Music by Anthem Duo enough for making that moment for him and us.

He was super professional throughout the whole process, very clear about the information he needed from us (types of music, specific songs, plan of the event, announcements, etc.). The reception was paced perfectly, from him announcing us, through the first dances, speeches, cake-cutting, all the way to the last song. Of all the weddings I have been to, he was by far the best DJ I have ever seen.

However, as soon as we told Jessica about this, we got an immediate response later that day. On the day of the wedding, Debbie was amazing. Our wedding was both outside and inside at different parts, which made the music a little bit of a challenge. There were also some uncertainties when it came to weather. Debbie was very professional and brought all of her own equipment to accommodate our tenuous weather and multiple venue locations. On the day of, I don't think a single thing went wrong. She was very smooth and easy to work with. She even sent us a card after our wedding which was a really sweet touch. We loved working with her and would highly recommend both Debbie and Jessica in the future.

It was one of the games she suggested and everyone raved about it! I thought she picked the perfect questions to ask! She has a great speaking voice and I was I really liked that she gave out glow sticks to the kids, which was a big hit! I usually think of everything and I didn't think of that. It definitely set the party atmosphere! We had a lot of fun! I know our event staff started changing around her time line so she probably didn't have the easiest time fielding their demands but I didn't notice if anything went wrong or if she was unhappy working with them. I think she did everything really well. The only suggestions would be that I should have payed more attention to her time line. I didn't notice the gap in the time between speeches and dancing. I think it was a little awkward for people but it did give us a chance to visit every table and thank people for coming so it worked out! I really appreciated their flexibility too! The weather caused us to move our cocktail hour inside and it was great that we could add more time to our contract right before the wedding!

Chelle was responsive to inquiries and available for suggestions and coaching. Their timing lined up perfectly with the order of events and Chelle's music recommendations and choices could not have been better. These are fine musicians. We couldn't have been happier. Ellington Carthan played the piano for the 2.5 hour dinner/reception. He played jazz, classical, show tunes and more. Five days before the wedding, the groom requested a specific song and wanted to surprise the bride with it. Ellington found the sheet music for this old French song, prepared it and played it beautifully just at the right time as the couple entered the reception. Ellington is a professional, versatile, quality pianist. So glad we had him there.

Once we selected a DJ we wanted to speak to, Jessica stated that she’d email the DJ and copy me on it. She then copied me on the below email. While she never asked me my plans for the layout of my event, I assume she asked my wedding planner who relayed my ideal setup. Jessica never spoke with me directly about the plans or voiced any concerns (if she had, I could have explained that this was my ideal setup, but I am aware that the weather in early November is unpredictable and I do have backup plans in place.) Instead, she criticized my plans to the DJ and copied me on the email. This was an incredibly awkward, unprofessional, and frankly catty situation. Once my wedding planner brought the fact that I was copied on her email to her attention, Jessica did send me an apology. With so many other professional booking companies in the DC area, I would not recommend working with her, especially now knowing the way she speaks about her potential clients. Email: “They say they want the ceremony outside (November -really), and there will be a heated tent for dancing and maybe dinner. There is a also a covered porch that is not heated that they may seat people (dumb). Power is about 100 feet from the ceremony site. Probably 2 systems, but extra speakers for porch area. Please google website carefully. Price quoted per your request, [redacted]. Her contact phone number is [redacted]. She is copied on this e-mail. Let me know when you initiate contact via phone and copy me on all correspondence.” PS. The covered porch she referenced has heaters.

We didn't want an over the top personality as an MC, so she matched her tone appropriately to our event. We had no glitches, and everyone that was out on the dance floor seemed to be having lots of fun! There is not much else you can ask of the DJ. We would recommend using JJ & T Entertainment and DJ Debbie!

He worked with us to plan out all the moments of the event, and was very professional and kind. It was a relief knowing that I could trust him to make sure everyone was having a good time and that important moments in the evening were announced on time. I recommend them very highly!

So I put off doing anything, and figured we would go with a friend of a friend who DJs as a hobby. But as the date got closer, I knew I would regret it if the dance floor was empty. My planner said she had worked with JJ&T before and thought we should reach out to them - even though it was only 6 weeks before the wedding! So we sent them a little info about our music preferences, and Jessica quickly replied with several options in our price range (under $3,500), who would be willing to drive way out to our rural location (a backyard wedding, way down in the country in Southern MD). All the bands looked cool, but we were most impressed by Nightlife's very professional video. They seemed high-energy without being too cheesy, and their video showed they could do a wide range of styles of music. Jessica was excellent at communicating - I was not the most organized bride, but she sent me gentle, friendly reminders about deadlines for payment & contract, asking for our song preferences, info about what the band would need for logistics, etc. Nightlife turned out to be an AMAZING fit for us. It was cold, rainy and muddy, plus there was a bad generator cord so the power kept flickering in the tent. But they were such pros and really saved the evening. After the ceremony, we went into the house for family photos - and when I peeked outside, I saw the tent was already rocking. The appetizers hadn't even been served yet, and everyone was jumping around - even the Southern Baptists got on the dance floor! We also had lots of changes to the schedule (cancelled the bonfire, everything running an hour behind), but the band rolled with it seamlessly. When they took some short, well-deserved breaks, I heard them playing every artist we had mentioned we liked - they'd created a custom playlist of recordings just for us! Throughout the night, our friends and family were saying, "Where did you find this band?" By the end of the night, they were saying, "Best wedding ever!" And I don't think they were doing this just to flatter us, either - many folks stayed much later than they had planned, despite the fact they had a long drive home to DC or Baltimore. After the wedding Jessica followed up promptly to ask for feedback and make sure we were happy. She was so easy to work with, and obviously cares about matching couples with the right entertainers for them. If you care about the dancing and music, JT&T will be worth every penny.

We wanted a "no frills" reception, so no extras like a photobooth or anything else due to our budget, just good music for dancing and good times. Our venue had a lot of restrictions on the music (no jumping or line dance songs) , but Debbie was able to work around that and still keep everyone entertained and having a blast on the dance floor. She was able to customize our song lists for the whole evening to exactly what we wanted and make the whole experience very easy for us. Debbie was also fantastic at Emceeing the whole night and keeping the show running on time and smoothly. We got so many compliments from our guests about how much fun our reception was and it would not have been quite a success without Debbie Bulles! Thanks to both Jessica and Debbie for all your hard work and help in making our wedding so memorable.

On the other hand, during our conversation a few days beforehand, I got nervous because he was having trouble finding the song I wanted to walk in to (a famous song from a famous musical) and did not quite seem to understand what my fiance and I meant when we said we liked American Songbook such as Cole Porter, Frank Sinatra, and Rat Pack stuff ... even though our "homework" playlist included a lot of Ella Fitzgerald and Michael Buble. Based on my worries, I asked my day-of coordinator to help him with timing during the ceremony, so the ceremony went fine. The dancing portion was a bit more frustrating. He played all of the songs on our "must-play" list, but in between our suggestions, he kept defaulting to weird elevator musak. At least two of my guests commented on it, and I was embarrassed. It was hard to get anyone to dance, and he wasn't very effective at getting the crowd going. All in all, I would work with JJ&T again, but I might choose a more experienced DJ. I think that DJ Ricky has the potential to be good, but he needs to work on listening to what his clients ask for. As is, I might have been better renting sound equipment and using my iPod, and I don't say that to be cruel.
