She used multiple products I ended up taking pictures of to order later and best of all, she used a airbrush foundation that literally made my skin look photoshopped! It was flawless and lasted the entire day. Most of all, I have to recommend JKW Beauty because without hesitation, they came to my #covid rescue. Skipping explanations because we all know the cancellations and heartbreaks of a pandemic-bride, let's just say I only had 2 days left to lock in someone for hair/makeup. Jordan, the owner, returned my tearful voicemail within hours, figured out a 1-person bride package on the spot and hooked me up with Megan! No trial, a 5 min phone consult and the very next morning - I had the best h+mu artist literally getting me ready for the best day of my life and was an absolute sweetheart chatting with me all morning and taking posed pictures like a bridesmaid would. (love ya girl!!) Like many engaged ladies/gents in 2020, I am a #loveisnotcancelled #covidbride. With how JKW took care of me in no time/high stress/no trial/etc., you just know this team is first-class. They mean it when they care about you as a bride as if you are family. While I would have Megan do my h+mu for every big event of my life if i could, you can believe every artist that Jordan hires is just the same -- great personalities, highly-skilled and set up with all the tools/lashes/colors/products that can make anyone feel like a model on their wedding day.

's wedding and knew they were top-notch, so I reached out to them first. After our initial conversation, I knew I wanted to book them asap. From the very beginning, the JKW team was very responsive and helpful - allowing me to explain my likes and what I was going for and tweaking my look to be perfect. Jordan was my head artist and helped during my trial to make my full glam makeup request look flawless and even helped guide me in choosing hair extensions that would work for the hairstyle I wanted. I was also really excited that Jordan uses amazing quality products (Pat McGrath, Nars, Armani) - she's so passionate about her work and it really shows! I was already beyond happy with having booked JKW and a month out from the big day when BOOM. COVID-19. Postponing our fully-planned April wedding felt incredibly daunting, but Jordan and her team were so quick to jump right in with me and work out a new date. Every response was so kind, encouraging, and timely. It honestly helped the replanning process go much smoother. We postponed for August, which also ended up not being far enough out for our full-sized event. In the end, we decided to still get married in a micro ceremony and push our reception. As soon as I was in touch with Jordan and her team, they jumped right into action to work with me. Initially, our wedding plans included hair and makeup services for 11 people. JKW had created a micro package in response to COVID and the shift in weddings and we were able to schedule hair and makeup services for a much smaller group of 4 (my bridal services, my MOH sister, and the two mamas).  We finally made it to the big day - Jordan and Mandy were our 2 artists and they showed up right on time and were so enthusiastic and excited! Given the more intimate wedding, I had decided last minute that I wanted to tone down my makeup look. Jordan was SO flexible and adjusted to make everything perfect for our smaller occasion. Both my mother and sister NEVER wear makeup and Jordan was also able to totally nail their request for very natural looks. Everyone's hair and makeup turned out perfect - and we all felt so amazing. Mandy's hairstyles were stunning and Jordan made my hair look even better than it had at the trial! I didn't think that was possible! AND all our hair and makeup lasted for hours, even in August heat. Finally, Jordan and the team were so professional in responding to the current state of the world by adding additional safety measures to their services to make sure everyone felt safe (ie we had a separate room to have hair and makeup done, face shields and masks were worn, etc). I really appreciated that attention to detail - after going through so much change from what we had initially envisioned, how JKW conducted themselves really showed they cared about our safety. I honestly can not say enough amazing things about JKW Beauty. From the talent of the team to the compassion and empathy they showed during such trying times - they are the BEST kind of people. We're planning on using them again for our rescheduled reception (I'm going full glam this time!) and I'm so thankful to have found Jordan and her team. BOOK THEM - seriously you will not regret it!

e-up and Piper made sure my bridesmaids, Mother’s, and JR bridesmaids looked stunning! The day of my wedding was perfect! They were on time and moved so smoothly through each person. I booked both hair and makeup and had a large bridal party (over 9), and they finished with time to spare for addition add on services and time for pictures. I wasn’t sure that I wanted to book a vendor for hair and makeup, but I’m so happy I did! The money spent was well worth it and the pictures turned out amazing! Not only do they offer hair and makeup, but they offer tanning, previews, and many other bridal beauty needs! They had options for everything! I would highly recommend JKW and especially any of the wonderful ladies that worked with me the day of!

to my inquiry and they were generally the most responsive overall. So I'm very glad I selected them. Mandy was a calming joy that I needed the morning of my last-minute wedding. She was a great sport about the lack of elevator in our historic hotel, lugging her supplies up several flights of stairs! I have lots of hair but it's incredibly fine and doesn't hold a curl or wave, so the biggest compliment I can give is that Mandy somehow got my hair to stay perfectly in place for about 8 hours... without *any* touchups needs throughout the festivities... despite spending time outside in the blazing heat and humidity of DC in the summer. Per my request, she made my hair style mostly down and somehow I didn't have to touch it up once, yet it looked very natural in its flow. Same compliment for her doing my makeup-- I never had to touch that up either, and it wasn't overboard. Mandy was really respectful of the look I wanted, and she managed to match the photos I showed her unbelievably well, despite me having no ability to schedule a trial beforehand!

Overall, I paid $490 for 0 services and am left feeling super upset and mistreated.

trials disappointed. But everything changed when I booked a beauty preview with JKW. First of all, their studio is located in the cute downtown area of Frederick. When you go in, you are one-on-one with your beauty artist, so you get very personalized attention. I walked in and met Megan and was instantly put at ease. She is just a great person and will make you feel so comfortable from the get-go. She takes the time to really listen to your concerns, your preferences, and will happily look through any inspiration photos you have to share. You are not rushed at all. You have the time to truly create a look with your artist, and she will happily tweak things as you complete the look, so that you get exactly what you want. I left that trial knowing I need to book immediately with JKW! And I have never once regretted that decision. On my wedding day, Megan and Jordan came to my hotel room and brought great energy to the day. My bridesmaids looked BEAUTIFUL and they raved about the services they received. And I felt so at ease and confident while getting my hair and makeup done knowing that I was in great hands with Megan. Trust me when I tell you this is the best hair and makeup team in the DMV area. I work in luxury hospitality sales and events, and I know exceptional service when I see and receive it. This company is the only company in the DMV area I will recommend to my friends and my clients for perfect hair and makeup services. They are reliable, exceptional professionals with a great eye for bridal beauty and style. Thank you Megan and Jordan for making me feel so beautiful ! I appreciate you more than I can ever express.

to be the one getting me ready the day of my wedding. Flash forward to the beginning of September 2019 - I wanted to get a spray tan before my wedding day. That’s when I met Jordan and she did such an incredible job with my spray tan but an even better job at making me comfortable and relaxed during the process. I plan to continue getting spray tans regularly. They were both so great to work with and I am so glad I chose them to be on my team. I will highly recommend JKW Beauty to anyone who needs their hair, makeup, or spray tan done for any event. Hoping I get to work with them at some point in the future!

She is an absolute queen when it comes to giving you exactly the look you want with still looking like yourself. All of my bridesmaids were raving about their hair and makeup all night! Not only did the girls do beautiful work, but they were so enjoyable and fun to hang out with in the bridal suite all morning. I honestly cannot recommend JKW Beauty enough for any event where you want to feel special.

and in natural light then based on what your preferences are assign you artists. I scheduled a trial (which is an additional cost) and drove up to their location in Maryland which was so adorable! I ended up having a total of 11 hair services and 9 make-up services. I really didn't want the morning to begin before 7 AM so hired a third artist that did both make-up and hair. JKW was actually one of the only Beauty companies that allowed me to do that - others said they don't recommend it. All three ladies (Megan for my hair, Kelsey for my make-up and Piper for both) were so great to work with and such fun additions to our morning! They were also super nice and we had a rough schedule they helped move everyone along to make sure we were all ready on time! Some people knew exactly what they wanted while others kind of let the artists do their tricks! Everyone looked so gorgeous and loved everything! One of my bridesmaids even loved her hair so much she thinks it's how she's going to do it for her wedding next year! Both my make-up and hair stayed throughout the whole day/ night (from around through the after party at 12ish). (My hair did fall out a bit towards the end of the night when I was dancing - but very much expected).

ss free because this was the speediest duo I have ever witnessed…but it is because they are THAT good and know their craft so well. I had a super-hot, August day (I have oily skin) and some big chin zits decided to make an appearance. I don’t know how Jordan did it, but you couldn’t see my zits and somehow my oil was controlled all night. I did do the trial a few months before to make sure we got the exact look I was going for. Jordan and Mandy were also just fun to be around the morning of. I am so thankful for the stress-free timing of hair and make-up and their fun personalities to be around. I highly recommend!

maids. I feel like at times the bridal party doesn’t get as much attention but JKW made sure their hair turned out beautifully (no hairspray helmets!!). They even added fresh flowers to their hair that I didn’t end up using. As for the makeup I actually changed a few things last minute and it wasn’t an issue at all. My face has never looked so perfect and I’m pretty picky because I really enjoy doing my own makeup. My face didn’t budge and it was HOT that day. They finished all 8 of us in no time and we’re so much fun to hang out with. Thank you so much JKWBEAUTY

hey ended up being able to accommodate us. We did have a bit of a scheduling hiccup when they didn't think they were going to have enough artists to cover our crew, which ultimately stemmed from a communication issue. I do appreciate Jordan taking the time to talk through the issue with me and my planner and offer options. We ended up having to hire one additional makeup artist who also did a great job. Jordan was able to provide one more artist closer to the day-of so we were not only able to shorten our timeline significantly, but that also meant I could get ready at my wedding venue instead of the hotel!! I did have to pay a little extra for that, but it was all worth it. The three artists from JKW that did the bridal party did absolutely AMAZING and they were so so sweet. I'm definitely picky, and they did an awesome job to add a little (but not too much) glam with a modern and fresh touch. My hair did fall a little by the end of the night, but that's to be expected with a summer wedding in a big, heavy dress -- if that's a concern I would opt for an updo which they did amazing with for some of my bridesmaids! Cannot thank the JKW team enough for all that they did for us!

I even had a bridezilla moment where I wanted to change my hairstyle the week before my wedding, but I was freaking out about never doing a trial. My hair stylist Megan (WHO IS THE BEST EVER), got me a trial on the Tuesday before the wedding, slayed my hair, made me cry, and I was giddier than ever for the big day! My husband cried when he saw me and just kept complimenting my hair and make-up and telling me how beautiful I was. he is huge on no make-up so for him to be complimenting it and loving it says a ton (shout out to Victoria for absolutely killing my make-up!)! I am in awe of the work that these women do and I cannot recommend them enough!

They were friendly, professional, flexible and had lots of fun with my bridal party. I made a couple last minute switches to my hairstyle & it was able to be easily done! oking overdone or not like me. I needn't have worried. With makeup, after my trial, my skin had a bad reaction to the foundation. JKW gave me a complimentary second makeup trial and Nina worked with me to make sure I was comfortable with the result. On my wedding day, she listened to each girl and made sure everyone liked what they got. Piper was also awesome. She worked fast, and, I swear, everyone's hair looks exactly like the inspiration photos they showed her. It was nuts. I'd never had my hair done before and it was perfect. My curls lasted through the night. Trust JKW. They'll take care of you and the people most important to you.

as though there are much better products out there for especially when you are paying for a makeup service. I feel as though the majority of makeup used was NYX or lower quality brands. I didn’t get exactly the look I was going for and did have to ask for mascara as well as eyeliner when I wanted a Smokey/darker eye from the beginning. I’m only writing this because I feel the service was just okay. She was good but I wasn’t blown away.

Their studio is very cute and relaxing. The day of the wedding the artists (Melissa and Piper) were very punctual and professional. I couldn’t believe how they were able to get the bridesmaids services done in 30 min! My hair and makeup turned out even better for the wedding day than at the trial. Melissa was very responsive to my tweaks and changes to make sure it was exactly how I wanted to look. My hair (up-do) stayed up all night without starting to hurt and did not get frizzy, which I was worried about. And, my make up looked flawless the entire day despite rain and humidity. Would recommend JKW to other brides looking for on-site hair and makeup!

An awesome bonus that makes JKW Beauty stand out from other salons is that airbrush and lashes are included in their price. We had three stylists - Jordan, Felicia, and Kelsey - who did 12 ladies’ hair and 8 ladies’ makeup in 4.5 hours. The JKW Beauty team arrived on time and even created a schedule for us ahead of time to make sure no one was rushed (we actually finished early)! The stylists were also so fun and friendly! Their positive energy created a calm, stress-free vibe the morning of our wedding and set the tone for an amazing day. The JKW Beauty stylists were so easy to work with, were open to suggestions and adjustments on the trial and on the wedding day, answered my emails quickly, and were very professional. I spent countless hours researching vendors for our wedding, including hair/makeup, and am so glad to have found JKW Beauty!

he day of the wedding, Jordan arrived on time with all of her equipment. She brought all the photos from our trial and was easily able to recreate my hair style from the trial. She applied my makeup with airbrush, it looked very natural and lasted all day through the heat and the tears. All of my bridesmaids were happy with their hair and makeup as well. I cannot recommend Jordan and JKW Beauty enough - they were wonderful to work with!

ended up having to schedule an appointment almost a month later. I never received a confirmation email or reminder about my appointment, which should have been the first red flag. On the day of the appointment, I took the day off of work, drove over an hour to the salon, only to find that there was no record of my appointment. Another stylist called Jordan's cell phone, and it turns out that Jordan had booked me for a time when she was not even in the salon, and there was no room to accommodate my appointment. If it wasn't infuriating enough that I had already wasted my afternoon driving all the way out to the salon for nothing, Jordan asked ME if I wanted to call HER back to try and reschedule. Um...no, it's definitely not my responsibility to call you AGAIN to reschedule, and there's no way I'd waste ANOTHER day on this place. And if JKW couldn't manage to correctly book my trial when I'm coming to them, why would I have any confidence that they'd remember my actual wedding?
