Jeffrey was an absolute pleasure to work with. Of all our wedding vendors, he received by far the most praise from our guests. He was courteous and professional and did a fabulous job capturing our must-have shots in record time for my very large, loud family. He was very responsive leading up to the event, prompt in arriving and very polished and put together on the day-of. We knew well before receiving our photos that they'd be awesome, and JLB did not disappoint! We received digital access to everything within 2 weeks and got a thumb drive containing everything very shortly after. Every photo feels like a work of art, and we love the various color treatments each one came in. JLB was phenomenal, and our wedding photos are SO GOOD!! Our wedding was planned for 2020, but due to COVID and having a baby we didn’t end up celebrating our day until April 2023. JLB stuck by our side through all of the planning changes. Our photos are so special to me, especially with our 14 month old son now being apart of our day. Hiring JLB was one of the best choices I made while planning my wedding. I was excited to work with him from the start thanks to the stunning work on his website and social media, and his fabulous reviews. The reality was even better than I could have expected. I cannot possibly urge you enough to hire JLB Photography for your wedding day. He is fun, creative, knows exactly how to organize large groups of unruly and excited people (NOT an easy task!) and above all, is extremely talented at both the art of photography and design. We chose to do a "reveal" prior to the ceremony and spent 2 hours with JLB on creative shots - which turned out to be my favorite part of the entire day! Words cannot express how amazing it was working with JLB. A top-notch photographer was our #1 non-negotiable. We had to have the best and our first choice was always JLB. We've admired and followed his work for years. It was also important for us to work with a photographer who supports the LGBTQ+ community. So, when we got engaged he was the first person we called. We immediately clicked and knew it was meant to be. Every consultation, chat, video call, JLB just knew our vibe and what we were looking for and we trusted him completely. stop your search and use JLB Wedding Photography! I fell in love with Jeff’s pictures the minute I saw them on The Knot and, after reading all the positive reviews, I knew that it was a perfect fit! He is so incredibly talented and went above and beyond the day of the wedding. One of the groomsmen did not have the suspenders he needed for the ceremony and without being asked or prompted Jeff said “I’m on it“ and went to see what was going on. We do not like stuffy wedding photos and knew we didn’t want it to be difficult for the bridal party. We’ve both been in weddings where the picture took hours and we didn’t want anyone to miss out! Jeff made it easy and knew exactly what to do and how to place our bridal party of 18 people. Gathering a large group like that can be like herding cattle, but Jeff didn’t even bat an eye. We even did an impromptu 40+ person family photo and Jeff was such a pro, knew exactly where to place everyone and what to do. The wedding photos are works of art and if you can get him to capture your wedding day, you will not regret it! He’s responsive and recommends shots that you may not have thought of. He came up to me at one point and said “I think you need to get this picture with your brother” and I’m just so grateful for that. He just knows what he’s doing and he really seems to enjoy it. I can’t recommend him enough!

While I have worked in events in the Detroit area for over six years, I am newer in the planner capacity. This past Saturday, I coordinated my first wedding under my own business and Jeffrey was a part of the vendor team. I can’t thank him enough for effectively ensuring the group was staying on track all day and posting sneak peek photos the very next morning. As one of the most important days of our lives, I wanted photos that were MORE. And boy did JLB deliver! The photos are beautiful, genuine, and artistic. They really are absolutely stunning and turned out better than I could have ever imagined. Our family and friends are also astounded by his work. If your date is available, BOOK JEFFERY! He is fantastic. After becoming engaged he was the one vendor I knew I needed. His style, recommendations, personality and work speak volumes above others. He was patient when we had to postpone for COVID and worked with us to ensure our day would happen exactly as we wanted. During our engagement session he went above and beyond to get the shot. We walked for what seemed like miles around Blakes and he made it seem like we went to multiples places when we didn't. He wasn't afraid to get dirty to shoot the perfect angle with the light just right. Something as simple as a pick up truck made for one of our favorite photos. Following our session my hubby said he was glad I fought for him as he was going to be 100% worth every penny! Coming from a large loud family, he knew exactly when to be loud and pushy but stay organized to make sure each important member was a part of the day. He was perfect to see him interact with my grandma and ensure our important guests were really featured. I was able to email him with questions and would have a quick response. Our teaser photos and GIFs were amazing and built great anticipation for the full galleries. When describing the final images of our wedding I become speechless other than "let me show you this picture, and this picture and this picture!" He was able to get so many amazing shots that I didn't even realize. I was able to relive the day through his photography. I am an event planner by trade and I tossed so many things to him and the longest list of important people and things to capture and he went above and beyond with all of it. Seeing him get really excited and jump up on down shouting "that's the money shot" made me so excited. As photos we will have for the rest of our lives, I am so happy to selected JLB to capture the moments and memories. Thank you Jeffrey!

We loved JLB’s work before we even got engaged. I confirmed with Jeffrey before we signed our venue to ensure he was available. He was professional, responsive, and proactive during our planning process. On-site he was prepared, thoughtful, and flexible. Our venue was the Felt and it was the first time JLB shot there, but he knew exactly what we needed to do for the perfect wedding photos. The 24 hour turnaround for highlights made such an impact. His photos are impeccable. We love all the photos and he made even the most standard wedding shot unique and professional. I have gotten so many compliments on our wedding photos. Already multiple of my friends are looking at him for their weddings. Hire him before he books up because he will!

JLB was absolutely incredible to work with on the day of our wedding. He is creative, easy to talk to, makes things simple and straightforward when you are a nervous wreck! His work is amazing. I was obsessed with my photos when he released the teasers and even more amazed looking at the entire album. All of our friends and family are also obsessed with our photos! The way he delivers his photos is incredible as well, with a few print outs, a photobook, and a USB holder with photos on it, it goes above and beyond what I anticipated. We are just so happy with choosing him and would recommend him to anyone out there looking. Plus, the GIFs! How cool!! He also rescheduled once with us due to covid, which was so nice and helpful when it was such a stressful experience. He is very responsive and is willing to help in anyway possible.

If I could rate Jeff above 5 stars I would in a heartbeat. Jeff is extremely good at what he does an he's worth every penny. Not only did he do a fabulous job of capturing our day, but he is the nicest person. Honestly, where to even begin. Jeff was wonderful, we did not need to worry about a single thing, did not have to even think about what poses or places we wanted to do, he would just tell us where he wanted us and in what position. It was fun to shoot with him, it was so very easy to have him shoot our pics. He is worth every penny, so far we just have the teasers (which he sent the very next morning), but oh my God the teasers are soo beautiful. The pictures are taken so beautifully and the filters that he uses are so very appropriate for the different places and poses that they just look amazing! We cannot recommend him enough, if you want the most perfect pictures on your most special day, please do book him, I promise you will not be disappointed, furthermore, you will be beyond happy that you chose him and amazed with his work!

Jeff was so much fun to work with and captured our day beautifully. He focused mainly on my husband and I which I appreciated. His photos were very beautiful and out of the box. I highly recommend him.

We were drawn to Jeffrey’s unique artistic style immediately, and in fact he was the only wedding photographer we reached out to for our recent elopement ceremony on a Monday. From our first and only conversation prior to the wedding, we were left feeling totally comfortable and excited by the idea of working with him. He immediately understood us as a couple and asked all the right questions about what we were looking for. We swapped a few ideas back and forth, but we left the rest in his hands. (He politely asks for your trust on his website when it comes to setting up the creative shots, and believe me, you want to do the same!) When the day came, he exceeded all of our hopes and expectations! Not only did we end up with EXACTLY the type of photographs that we wanted, but we also had a marvelous and fun time with him in the process. Jeffrey is easy going, flexible, professional, and brilliant. I am someone who freezes up quickly when a camera is around, but he put me more at ease than I’ve ever been. This was such a huge plus on our wedding day because it allowed for a beautiful care free feeling, a feeling that translated directly into the photos. My wife and I look like our true selves in our photos because of the fun we were having and the lack of stress. In addition, he is so generous and reasonably priced. The amount and variety of photos we were given at the end, and in all the different color settings, was phenomenal. We truly could not recommend working with Jeffrey more, and we would give him 15 stars out of 5 if we could. You will not be able to replicate this type of experience with someone else.

I fell in love with all the photos on the JLBwedding photography website and hired Jeffrey immediately for our wedding (initially in 2020 then had to reschedule to 2021 due to the pandemic). During this difficult time, he was pretty flexible with rescheduling our wedding date with no penalty due to the pandemic. He also answered all our questions and worked with us to establish a timeline. He was very professional and responsive. On the wedding day, he guided us through the pictures and accommodated our changes as a result of the weather (90 degrees and most pictures were outside). I don’t consider myself photogenic and lack the creative gene. However, you could not tell that from the pictures – they were very creative and my husband and I looked amazing! Just for contrast, we hired an Italian photographer to take post-wedding pictures in Positano, Italy. While the photographer (not Jeffrey) had the picturesque background, the pictures did not come out nearly as good, which was extremely disappointing. We wished we could have hired Jeffrey instead of the Italian photographer. In summary, we highly recommend hiring Jeffrey as the photographer! He made the wedding process less stressful and all our guests were very impressed with his professionalism and expertise – everyone loved the wedding photos!

Jeffrey’s photos of our big day are absolutely amazing-his creativity is unmatched and we love all of our wedding photos! Not only are we beyond impressed with the pictures, but he was very quick in getting everything back to us after the wedding. Definitely will suggest him to anyone looking for a wedding photographer!

JLB has been my dream photographer for 11 YEARS. I’ve always said I would do whatever it took to have him photograph my wedding. Even 11 years ago when he shot for my cousin’s wedding, his pictures were so out of the box and creative. I had never seen anything like his. He’s only gotten more incredible with time. The creative aspect was a big part in why I wanted him. But the absolute PROFESSIONALISM that he exudes put him way over the top. Able to adapt to any situation (like pouring rain for our engagement photos) with the most kind words, he never made us feel uncomfortable, or that he had somewhere else to be. Incredibly punctual, he had a schedule and stuck to it, without rushing us. He made sure everyone felt included throughout the whole wedding day. I hired JLB for his “downtown, editorial Detroit” experience, assuming our quaint little chapel photos in Commerce would be good, but that the downtown buildings we were going to later that evening would make the photos. He blew my mind by taking the most incredible photos in Commerce, finding beauty in the most random of settings. He just has that eye for it. He’s just that good. On top of all of this, he is so meticulous in making sure you get the perfect shot and lighting. Jeffrey is such a professional, through & through. He’s had enough experience making sure that his clients are never left unsatisfied, from start to sneaks (we received about 25 sneak peeks within a DAY of the wedding). We also received an online gallery to look at pictures within about 2 WEEKS of the event. I said it about a dozen times on our wedding day, and anytime someone asks me about him - “guy’s a pro”. He was my dream photographer, and ABSOLUTELY lived up to the hype.

We loved working from Jeffrey from beginning to end. Not only is his style exactly what we wanted, but he was great to work with throughout the process. From being responsive to our questions to making us feel comfortable in front of the camera we absolutely recommend him. Our wedding party was thrilled with how much fun they had taking pictures the day of which is not always an easy task. We love all of our wedding and engagement photos and are so happy with the turnaround time. The amount of angles he is able to get while working alone is amazing and you will not regret booking with JLB.

Jeffrey was the wedding photographer of our dreams! Words cannot describe the feeling that we got when we saw the preview of our wedding photos so soon after our wedding. We were completely blown away by his talent and his ability to capture the true emotion and joy felt on our wedding day. We can also honestly say that one of our favorite parts of the day was taking photos in between the ceremony and cocktail hour. We have the most amazing enngagement shots, all a tableau of a 'date-day' themed shoot around our home NYC. Jeffrey was so great to work with. He was always very quick to respond and clear in communication with us through the whole process. Everything was very organized with our itinerary for the day and making sure everything we wanted photographed was planned for. When you work with him, you can tell he's well-versed in what he does and can give you tips on what would make your day flow smoother to be able to capture what you want. The biggest selling point for me was the artistry in his photographs. I didn't want photos that anyone could've taken, or the "just stand there and smile!" type of shots. I wanted photos from someone with an eye for their surroundings and creative spark. His GIF animations are so cool and when you show them to your family&friends makes their eyes light up. We got a ton of compliments on those. Our entire day was documented perfectly with nothing missed. We got amazing candid shots that had creative feel for them. He captured the details of our day so well. Like the detail for the venue and ceremony hall weren't just "pictures" of the detail, but the angle, symmetry and perspective were thoughtful. Our creative session between the ceremony and reception came out amazing and he had many ideas for us and guided us through with ease. He's super easy to work with. He always had a positive attitude and was friendly to our family and guests. One more major point: His turnaround time is like no one else. We got our photos in like a little over a week, in all his color processes in a digital gallery. He also sends a beautiful package of the thumbnail book and usb and some selected prints. We put all our trust in Jeffrey and I'm so glad we did. We will cherish our photos for a lifetime.

Not only that, he also knows how to carry himself in large bridal parties with so many distractions, he walks through every single challenging situation like a breeze, including chasing a 10 foot veil in the air to capture the most perfect shot (true story and my veil was safe and sound and the picture was a thousand times worth it) I cannot emphasize how incredibly humbled I am to have been JLB’s client and I am looking forward to hiring him for every single event moving forward. Where to begin.....after looking at the work of many photographers, Jeffrey was a clear winner and must-have for our daughter's wedding. The photo's and GIF'S are simply beautiful and amazing! I'd like to start by saying I have been a long-time fan of Jeffery's work! Ever since the first time I saw his photos when a college classmate of mine posted their engagement pictures on Facebook, I was hooked! Three other college classmates of mine went on to have him do their engagement and/or wedding pictures. He was one of the first vendors I booked after securing our venue. He was great with communication especially since I was planning from afar; I live in California but got married in Michigan. Even when the pandemic hit and our wedding had to be postponed, he understood and helped us move our date easily. He also provided a revised contract to go with our postponement, which gave me so much peace of mind! On wedding day he was super friendly and easy to work with. He even cracked some jokes to help make the day seem laxer even though he stayed completely professional. At one point the top of my dress got twisted and Jeffery pointed it out in the most polite way and turned away to let my husband help me adjust "the girls" back, lol. I couldn't be happier than choosing him to help capture our day. He worked well with our videographer and got so many awesome shots. I can't wait to get some large prints done to hang on the walls. The day was so fast and hectic, but Jeffery helped bring some calm and organization. My only regret was not getting a few more shots in. I got caught up in the moment of things I forgot to get a group shot with my bridesmaids in our getting ready outfits and to get a night shot under the globe lights outside with my new hubby. But we have so many great candid shots we probably didn't need the extras. So if you're on the fence, just hire him!

He was so fun to work with, willing to visit the places we wanted to see and he even took us to several stops we’d never have known would produce such amazing keepsakes. Highly recommend Jeff!

Wow, wow, wow, we literally can't say enough good things about our experience working with Jeffrey. His photos are absolutely stunning and are unlike any other wedding photos we've seen before (and not just because he does GIFs too!). His framing is impeccable, the emotions he captures, the colors and textures he brings to life. Every photo is so dynamic and dramatic and visceral. We saw our sneak peeks and were absolutely speechless. Not only is he an amazing artist, but he was so easy to work with. Right from the beginning, he made an effort to learn everyone's names and put us all at ease. We were chatting and laughing with him before long, just as if he was another one of our friends or family members at the wedding. He made us feel totally relaxed in front of the camera. JLB absolutely MADE our wedding day. We hired him based on the amazing photos you've surely seen on instagram (@jlbwedding). He exceeded our expectations and was one of the best parts of our wedding day. Jeffrey is a seasoned professional. I could not recommend Jeffrey more highly for your wedding photography - not only is the output truly incredible (so many friends asked how I got such beautiful and unique photos that fit the mood of our wedding) but the process working with him was amazing. What to say about Jeffrey Lewis Bennett, or JLB as we affectionately call him. Let’s start with the fact that we got married during the height of the pandemic (March 20, 2020). It was the week that our state was shutting down more and more by the day. He, along with our wonderful wedding planner (Megan Kennedy of Kennedy Planning Co.) and DJ (Nicholas Hardy with Elysium Experience), helped us completely replan our wedding. We changed our venue, kept the date, changed the time, stripped the numbers down from 200 to 20 people. He was very patient and accommodating throughout the whole process and did not allow the stress of the pandemic to affect how he conducted himself on our day. He kept us and our wedding party first. Now that we’ve spent some significant time working with him (engagement session, wedding date, post nuptial session), this is not at all surprising. JLB’s work speaks for itself. You’ve seen his website and social media posts. What all of that doesn’t show is how much fun he is to work with, and how professional he is. We loved working with vendors on whom we could rely and trust. He definitely added to our piece of mind and wonderful memories surrounding our union. Hiring him was not a box to check, but one of our best investments.

A friend used JLBwedding as their wedding photographer in 2015 and ever since then I have been drooling over Jeffrey's work. His photos speak for themselves but the real treat is working with him! He is so organized and has this calmness to him that if problems arise he fixes them. For example we did a first look and somehow the shuttle times were mixed up. Jeffrey rescheduled the shuttle times to the correct time without a hitch and we didn't even know there was an issue until talking about it with our bridal party the next day! Besides his pictures being flawless he turns you into super models seriously. Jeffrey is so laid back and creative you don't even realize he's directing you into the most beautiful poses/pictures. What to say about Jeffrey? Where do we start? When we began to budget for our wedding, we decided that a great photographer was one of our utmost priorities. We were referred to JLB by two individual friends and after looking at his work, we knew he was our guy. We booked Jeffrey for our October 2020 wedding but given the unique circumstances of this year, we had no choice but to push our day up to August. When we reached out to JLB, he was available for our new August date and made the whole transition process seamless. Jeff is a wonderful photographer. He easily wrangled small and large groups from 90-year-old grandparents to two-year-old nieces. He is perfectly lovely at managing people and simultaneously finessing the moments you want him to capture.
