d we wanted a photographer who could represent that in a unique and beautiful way. JLB knocked it out of the park. I am a HS teacher/coach. A mom of a former student of mine shared that when her daughter saw JLB’s IG preview she and her friends was floored and obsessed over the photos… so not only Millenial approved, but Gen Z approved as well. The icing on the cake: we were 15 minutes from the start of the ceremony and getting nervous and eager to get to our staging area. JLB encouraged us to take one more photo and staged what ended up being our favorite photo and is truly priceless to us. Our advice outsider of hiring him: trust him and go on the adventure with him. rey for both an engagement shoot in Ann Arbor and for our wedding at the Westin Book Cadillac Detroit, and it's by far the best decisions we've ever made. Both times during the engagement shoot and the wedding creative shots, Jeffrey was running all over Ann Arbor and Detroit getting the best angles and shots of us. We don't have background in photography or posing, yet his suggestions made us look like naturals in front of the camera. Normally I'm very shy in front of a camera but Jeffrey's fun, delightful, and energetic personality makes it so easy to be myself in photos. Even during the planning process, he set up a planning call with us to discuss who we wanted to get photos of during the day, how to do the first look before the ceremony, and any formal photos we wanted to take after the ceremony. He is one of the most professional and thorough people we've worked with. JLB was incredibly professional, organized, and knowledgable. And he had a confident answer for every specific question we had (e.g., how do you take photos of people with darker skin tones). Things got even better once we met in person for a pre-wedding/engagement shoot. We were so nervous about taking professional photographs, but JLB made us feel instantly comfortable. Within minutes, we were having so much fun running around town, listening to JLB's instructions, and taking museum-worthy photos. was a perfect fit! He is so incredibly talented and went above and beyond the day of the wedding. One of the groomsmen did not have the suspenders he needed for the ceremony and without being asked or prompted Jeff said “I’m on it“ and went to see what was going on. We do not like stuffy wedding photos and knew we didn’t want it to be difficult for the bridal party. We’ve both been in weddings where the picture took hours and we didn’t want anyone to miss out! Jeff made it easy and knew exactly what to do and how to place our bridal party of 18 people. Gathering a large group like that can be like herding cattle, but Jeff didn’t even bat an eye. We even did an impromptu 40+ person family photo and Jeff was such a pro, knew exactly where to place everyone and what to do. The wedding photos are works of art and if you can get him to capture your wedding day, you will not regret it! He’s responsive and recommends shots that you may not have thought of. He came up to me at one point and said “I think you need to get this picture with your brother” and I’m just so grateful for that. He just knows what he’s doing and he really seems to enjoy it. es above others. He was patient when we had to postpone for COVID and worked with us to ensure our day would happen exactly as we wanted. During our engagement session he went above and beyond to get the shot. We walked for what seemed like miles around Blakes and he made it seem like we went to multiples places when we didn't. He wasn't afraid to get dirty to shoot the perfect angle with the light just right. Something as simple as a pick up truck made for one of our favorite photos. Following our session my hubby said he was glad I fought for him as he was going to be 100% worth every penny! Coming from a large loud family, he knew exactly when to be loud and pushy but stay organized to make sure each important member was a part of the day. He was perfect to see him interact with my grandma and ensure our important guests were really featured. I was able to email him with questions and would have a quick response. Our teaser photos and GIFs were amazing and built great anticipation for the full galleries. When describing the final images of our wedding I become speechless other than "let me show you this picture, and this picture and this picture!" He was able to get so many amazing shots that I didn't even realize. I was able to relive the day through his photography. I am an event planner by trade and I tossed so many things to him and the longest list of important people and things to capture and he went above and beyond with all of it. Seeing him get really excited and jump up on down shouting "that's the money shot" made me so excited. Our venue was the Felt and it was the first time JLB shot there, but he knew exactly what we needed to do for the perfect wedding photos. The 24 hour turnaround for highlights made such an impact.
