Incredibly deceptive and unethical. I don't even understand how they are still in business. Zero morals here.
Incredibly unethical company. Don’t spend your money for your special day at this horrible company.
Incredibly unethical company. Complete lack of integrity.
Please, do not shop at JLM. They are an unethical company with no sense of morals. They do not care about their designers, only financial gain. Please do not give this company your business.
2020 went down in the record books as one of the most interesting years to get married but honestly it made it so much better and completely unique. Susan and Linda were absolutely wonderful during the dress shopping experience. I had made my appointment for the end of March (one week into shutdown). We postponed my appointment, once, twice, and finally Susan said we need to get you a dress so I had a virtual appointment with Linda where I got to drool over all of the Hayley Paige dresses. We chose seven dresses that I picked up from the shop and drove up to my grandmother's. My grandmother and I are avid Say Yes to the Dress viewers and had been dreaming of my appointment forever. We thought this experience would have been a disappointment but it was so much better. My mom came over with champaign and my aunt acted as my bridal consultant. We used the guest room as my dressing room and one at a time I stepped out in dress after beautiful dress. When I put on the Hayley Paige Suki Gown it was all tears. We all got that bridal moment. It was a memory with my grandmother I will cherish forever. And the best part was the next morning I was able to put the dress on again just to double check and we all cried again.
The perfect place for a cookie cutter bride. The selection actually surprised me. I couldn’t find anything I was remotely interested in.
The associates here are excellent - I had a great experience with people who understood my style and helped guide me. I didn't feel like I had a pushy sales person pressuring me, it was clear that they just wanted me to find the best gown for me.
I don't think it would be possible to have had a better experience here. Molly and the owner (I'm so so sorry I'm blanking on a name here) were so attentive and made me feel like a princess from the second we walked in to the second we left. They were patient, informative, and energetic, and most importantly, really seemed to care. The dress I ended up with is perfect, and the experience was unbeatable. I would highly recommend JLM to any bride!!!
I really didn't know what dress I wanted to wear on my wedding day and JLM helped me along the way. The entire JLM team made it so much fun for me and my bridesmaids. Melanie, my stylist, listened to the details of my wedding, my venue, how I wanted to feel that day, and the initial style I wanted to wear. She pulled a handful of dresses that met my criteria as well as a dress I would have not envisioned for myself. Well, that dress I never envisioned was THE dress. I fell in love with it immediately! My veil and jewelry pulled the entire dress together. Once I had my fittings, the alterations team was great. My dress fit like a glove. I couldn't have been any happier on my wedding day.
My experience at JLM Boutique was nothing short of magical. Let's start at the beginning. I got engaged last June (2018) and after some initial planning, we decided on a Spring 2019 (April) wedding, so that meant, time to start the dress search asap! I found a few different wedding dress boutiques, but JLM ended being the only one I visited. I just had a feeling this was going to be the right one for me, based on the designers they carried and the small boutique feel. I made an appointment to visit during one of their trunk shows in July of last year, and before visiting, had perused the images of dresses from various designers that they showed on the website.
I have had a vision of what I felt my wedding dress would be like for some time now, and one of the ones shown online seemed to be exactly it (mind you, I hadn't even visited JLM yet!) but I decided to be open minded for my appointment. They have parking spots right out front, and typically ample street parking. My Mom and I arrived and I was paired with Molly (who is so fabulous and helpful) and I tried on about 8 gowns that I picked from the floor. They were all gorgeous, but I kept thinking about the dress I saw online which was Tara Keely by Lazaro. I inquired about it with Molly and since they didn't have it in stock, she said to let her see what she could do, and she might be able to get it flown in from New York for me to try on. A few weeks later I was notified she was able to secure the dress (YES!!) and we settled on a second time to come back to try it on, knowing if I didn't like it, I could choose something else in the showroom at that point. For this second appointment, in August, I brought my Mom back, along with my Nonna and a few of my bridesmaids, as I just had a gut feeling this would be it. Molly and the whole JLM team once again made us feel so welcome and taken care of, and she ushered me back into the fitting room and there it was hanging there. The moment I put it on, I knew this was it. I couldn't thank Molly enough for making it possible for me to try it on, because it couldn't have been closer to what I had imagined in my head! I ended up purchasing it on the spot, and began the process of getting it created in my size. This was in August, and by early January I was notified it was on the way.
At this point, they move you over to their off-site alteration studio (just down the street) where Gloria (the alteration queen) and Monica took such incredible care of us. I had 3 alteration appointments (an initial consultation, a mid-way fitting and the final pickup appointment). Gloria was so comforting, and made me feel like I was in the best hands possible since my gown was so delicate. Monica was so helpful and we always had such great conversation while I was there. The entire process from start to finish was truly seamless. I appreciated the high level of customer service, but the fact that everyone just felt like a good friend helping you out was what I really loved. It is truly worth every penny of what I paid for both the gown and alterations, as you never get this special day back, and I didn't want to skimp on such an important piece. I will be recommending JLM to all of my friends who get married in coming years, and recommend them to anyone reading this review!
Just an overall amazing experience... My stylist Malinda genuinely cared to get to know me to help me find the perfect dress meant for me! I'm overjoyed with my dress! JLM is a beautiful atmosphere, and worth the visit.
The best!! Great location and a beautiful bridal salon. Molly was my consultant, and she was so much fun to work with - she somehow knew exactly what I was looking for when I wasn't even sure what I wanted! I ended up ordering a custom Hayley Paige gown for my wedding, as well as a veil and accessories from Haute Bride, and the process was so much easier than I thought it would be. Molly frequently updated me throughout the wait for my dress, which helped me stay calm. I also used JLM for my gown alterations, and couldn't have been happier with the results. Gloria is so talented! The alterations team also helped with packing my gown for me to bring to my out-of-state wedding - I'm not sure how they did it, but my fairly poofy dress somehow made it through being crammed in a tiny airplane closet with almost no wrinkles! Highly recommend for both dress shopping and alterations!
JLM was the last our of several bridal boutiques i went to. I went there to try on a sparkly LAZARO dream and I didn't even know that when i made my apt it was during the Lazaro trunk show. I got the chance to meet Lazaro and I also found my dream dress (not the one i went to try on). The phrase "you get what you pay for" is true with this one. I went to many lower end boutiques, and the service and selection were nowhere near JLM. They really made my bridal experience special!
I found my dream dress here :) Melanie was the best! Not only was she super helpful and knowledgable when I was trying on dresses, she also worked with me to get to the best deal on my dress. I can't say enough great things about this boutique. My friends had a wonderful time as well, and they even allowed me to FaceTime my mom since she was out of town. Highly recommend this place!
After checking out a few bridal salons closer to my home and finding my dress, I did some research and found out that JLM was having a trunk show for the designer of the dress that I was 99.9% sure I wanted (I also ended up finding out that the flagship store offers some great perks that standard salons don't offer, like split sizing, which helps save some money!). I contacted JLM and scheduled an appointment, which went fantastically. Due to typical LA traffic, I was 15 minutes late for my appointment, but they understood and accommodated me any way. Gabrielle, my consultant, was a dream to work with. She was as sweet as can be and helped calm any nerves I had about purchasing my dress. I had some additional stress during this time as well, since I was in my last semester of nursing school, my wedding was across the country in South Carolina and would be moving to SC a few months after ordering my dress. Gabrielle answered every question I had about the difficulties with purchasing a dress that would arrive after moving, informed me of all of my options with shipping or picking it up in store, and helped ease my mind about fittings and alterations. She went above and beyond to help me and even offered to FaceTime me during my initial alteration to make sure that the seamstress knew what to do and how to do it perfectly. I ended up being in LA when my dress came in, so I picked it up in store, but had to have my veil shipped - which was not a problem at all. Again, Gabrielle gave me all the information on how to travel with my dress on a plane and made sure that I was comfortable and felt beautiful each and every step of the way. A wedding dress is a huge purchase and a very costly one, but if you love JLM designers, make sure to schedule an appointment with Gabrielle at the flagship store to search for your dream dress. You will no be disappointed.
Loved the whole team - especially the incredible seamstress Gloria. She turned my dress from one that wasn't perfectly flattering to an absolute piece of art. Thank you, JLM and thank you, Gloria!!!
I made my appointment 1 year prior to my wedding day on April 30, 2016 for the Hayley Paige Trunk Show. Their boutique is beautiful, but don't expect them to be EXPERTS. They are not. I fell in love with a Hayley Paige dress and INSISTED that we order it AS-IS, in the runway size that was there. I said whatever size this is, I want it, it fits perfectly. I'm a size 2-4, and the consultant Gabrielle INSISTED I get a bridal size 10, open the bra cups, and raise the waist. I told her 3-4 times how I liked the dress as-is and I don't want to open the cups. She insisted saying the dress won't fit my boobs! She almost yelled it. I FIGURED SHE WAS THE EXPERT, SO I SAID OK. They are NOT EXPERTS AT ALL. They DON'T KNOW WHAT THEY ARE DOING. They ordered the wrong size for me and then blamed me, the client saying...well you signed for it. I ordered the dress exactly 1 year before my wedding day, and THE DRESS WASN'T READY until 1 day before my wedding rehearsal(!!) and 4 days before my wedding day. I called numerous times trying to get them to start on my dress throughout the year. They insisted that I had enough time for alterations and THEY WERE JUST TOO BUSY, they said it would all be ok. I told them the day that we ordered, and I also called the next day and reiterated that I think they ordered the wrong size, and I'm concerned about the waist and large cups. They said it's okay and don't worry. I TRUSTED them with the biggest day of my life. They TAKE ADVANTAGE OF BRIDES, waiting until the last minute to deliver the dress so that the bride has NO OPTIONS. Out of the $1,050 in JUST ALTERATIONS, they only offered to pay $400 of it. On top of the $4,209 I spent for my dream wedding gown. Have you ever heard those horror stories of people ordering dresses and outfits online from cheap no-name businesses online, and the product comes back looking horrific? That's EXACTLY how my over $4,000 wedding dress came out with JLM Couture. No apologies from them, and they have not returned any of my calls. My recommendation is to not trust them with your wedding day, if it's the biggest day of your life. Go to someone for a quarter of the price and get your dress made...with love.
JLM is truly the bewst of the best. They were perfect from try on to pick up. I absolutely love hayley paige and I have since before I could walk. I knew I could find my dress here. I booked my appointment for a Hayley Paige trunk show and met my consultant, Lisa. She was a doll. She was at each one of my appointments and remembered and my dress! To top it all off, after saying "yes to the dress!" Lisa got ahold of Hayley Paige herself and surprised me being able to facetime her from New York City. JLM made my dress dreams come true and hold some of my best wedding memories. Memories I'll cherish forever and tell my future little HP brides.
I purchased my Jim Hjelm gown at a trunk show at JLM. From the start the staff at JLM were fantastic. Gabrielle helped me feel confident in my decision and find a gown that worked for my body. She also helped me find the perfect belt and veil. All of my other appointments were excellent--everything arrived on time and in good condition. The tailoring services are done directly through the Boutique and were phenomenal and easy. I never had to stress about any of the details. The shop is totally adorable too :) Thanks JLM!
JLM helped me find the perfect dress! They guided me through the process, without any pressure, and led me to my dream wedding dress. Gabrielle was a pleasure to work with from dress to fittings to advice.
My dress was beautiful and everyone was helpful until it came time to getting alterations done. I had many trips back and forth to the boutique trying to fix my alterations, they failed to keep my extra fabric and beading so I could make a gift for my mom, they lied a few times about what they did and did not do to the dress, my dress wasn't ready until 2 days before the wedding and I was sitting in their boutique until 9pm waiting for the dress instead of finishing my last minute wedding stuff which I instead had to do until 2am the night before my wedding. Total nightmare.
This little boutique is full of beautiful princess dresses. All of the people who work there are super nice.
I love my Tara Keely dress, JLM has some absolutely gorgeous options for wedding gowns. I took a few stars off for their sometimes slow service.
