Jacob Phillips founded JLP Films, an award winning wedding videography company in 2018. He’s had the privilege to work with couples all over Wisconsin & Minnesota to bring their love stories to life. His success over the years led him to win the Best of Weddings & Couple’s Choice Award presented by WeddingWire & The Knot in 2023 & 2024.
JLP Films covers multiple locations, using multiple cameras to catch those in-between moments and finer details. Jacob is passionate about affording couples premium footage at accessible prices. He has also garnered much experience in the realms of senior portraiture and sports documentaries.
JLP Films offers a range of products and services to newlyweds. Jacob covers wedding celebrations from pre-ceremony highlights to evening reception fun. He creates beautiful highlight films of wedding celebrations that can be accessed and downloaded via digital files. This talented videographer also provides newlyweds with raw footage of their big day, so that they can relive fleeting moments for years to come.

choosing Jacob as our videographer was one of the very best.
From our very first meeting, we knew he was the best of the best. Jacob is one of the most detail-oriented, organized, and thoughtful people we’ve ever worked with. During wedding planning, there were moments where Rob and I felt overwhelmed or like we didn’t have everything figured out, but Jacob always did. He had a vision from the beginning, asked questions we never would have thought of, and made us feel completely confident that every meaningful moment would be captured.
Our wedding was spread over three days, and Jacob was there through it all. Not because he had to be, but because he genuinely cared about telling our story the right way. By the end of the weekend, our family and friends weren’t just talking about how talented he was, they were talking about what an incredible person he is. He has such a calming, genuine presence that everyone naturally gravitated toward, and somehow he managed to capture the most beautiful moments without ever making it feel like a camera was there.
My husband and I aren’t people who are naturally comfortable in front of a camera, but Jacob made us feel like ourselves. He knew exactly when to step in with direction and when to quietly let moments unfold. I trusted him completely!
Then came the video.
I honestly don’t think either of us were prepared for what we watched. It wasn’t just a wedding film - it was our story. Somehow, Jacob captured the emotions, the little moments we missed, the laughter, the tears, and the feeling of the entire week in a way we didn’t think was possible. Watching it felt like we were living our wedding all over again, and we both cried from beginning to end. It’s something we’ll treasure for the rest of our lives, and I know we’ll be watching it for years to come with our kids one day.
And somehow, he delivered it so quickly that we were genuinely shocked. The turnaround time was incredible, especially for something crafted with so much care and attention to detail.
People always say your wedding day goes by in a blur. They’re right. But because of Jacob, we get to relive the best weekend of our lives whenever we want.
If there’s one thing I’ve learned after planning a wedding, it’s that it will fly by, but your wedding film lasts forever. Invest in the person who’s responsible for preserving those videos (memories).

bat he was so friendly and always answered my questions (and I had a lot of them) very quickly, even before I officially booked him. He let us pick the songs that he included in our video. On the day of the wedding, he arrived early to make sure he got shots of all of us getting ready. He worked so smoothly with our photographer that a couple people asked us if they were a team (they weren’t – we booked our photographer separately). He directed us well and had fun with it, so we were able to have fun too! The most impressive thing is that he got our entire video package to us in TWO DAYS!! And he kept us in the loop with fun previews as he was working on it too. But most importantly, the video was AMAZING!!! When my husband and I watched it together for the first time, we teared up. The picture quality was perfect, the shots he got were amazing, and he even dubbed in our vows over the music. He really captured our wedding day. It’s only been a week since our wedding, and I think we’ve watched the video about 50 times!
