Jessica did such a wonderful job doing hair and makeup for my wedding! It stayed in place all day and she was very efficient on getting us all done in time.

My wedding day was WINDY and I thought there was no chance in hell that my hollywood waves would make it through the outdoor pre-ceremony photos, much less the outdoor ceremony and...
family portraits afterward. Enter: Jessica. To my shock and delight, my hair as well as my bridal party's hair held up through wind and dancing and still looked good at the very end of the night (and three of us had our hair styled down!). She worked quickly but without sacrificing quality. A family member did our wedding makeup, so I can't speak to her makeup services, but I highly recommend her for wedding day hair!
PLEASE read this review, Jessica will blame YOU for HER mistakes!!!: Jessica is extremely unprofessional to work with and I would not recommend her to any bride, especially those h...
aving their weddings anywhere in PA. I had made an appointment with Jessica months in advance for a trial and made it a point to let her know of my unique circumstances - I am from NY and was making a trip to Lancaster, PA where my wedding in November is to meet with all of my vendors. Jessica agreed to travel to my hotel for the trial, on my own expense, even before we had signed the contract because this is something that was important to me.
I agreed to pay $100 more for my trial for her travel expenses. My husband took days off of work to be able to take a trip to meet with all of our vendors. Two days before my trial, Jessica tells me Lancaster is "too far for her to travel" and that she "didn't realize it was that far" from her. "For some reason I thought it was closer to 1.5 hours". She told me that she wouldn't be able to come to my trial two days before even though we had agreed on it, signed a contract, paid extra and made an entire trip around the appointment. This is even after following up with her multiple times to triple confirm the appointment at my hotel in Lancaster.
Even after all of this, she put the blame on me claiming that this was my fault and that she did not know where my hotel was after confirming with her that we would be staying in Lancaster.
Jessica advertises as being a PA hair stylist; It is not my fault that she did not properly look up where my venue was or the location of Lancaster where I had told her I would be staying when I originally reached out to her, instead she went off of where she thought it was. We signed our contract after agreeing to this - had she not agreed, I would have understood and moved on with my hair stylist search. Now I am stuck scrambling trying to find someone available for my wedding in November. PA brides please stay away and look elsewhere!! Do not make the mistake I unfortunately did
Jessica and Ashtan did an incredible job for my wedding. Every single person in our group (from bridesmaids to grandmothers) looked stunning, and stayed looking stunning the entire...
night. I so appreciated how they accommodated each person, including skin sensitivities and personal preferences. They were conscientious of all infection control recommendations, as we got married in the middle of the coronavirus pandemic. They were such a calm, lovely presence for the morning of the wedding, and made everyone feel comfortable and ensured that we were all ready ahead of schedule so there was no last-minute stress. I highly recommend JLPmakeup's professionalism and expertise!
My girls and myself got hair and makeup done. 7 people. Jess was fantastic she did such a great job. I received so many compliments on my hair! Would highly recommend!
I’d just like to start off by saying I never write reviews. I feel this needed to be shared so other brides are aware and don’t go through the same stress I went through with this ...
company. It started back in the beginning of May when I sent an email to Jessica to schedule my hair and makeup trial for my September 2020 wedding. A few weeks go by and I never received a response, I then sent another email. Still never received a response. I then reached out in the beginning of June on JLP Facebook messenger. Again, a few weeks go by and still no response. I had her on my Venmo account from when I gave her my deposit, I happen to go on and saw that she had a lot of activity going on with other clients, but has been ignoring me for now 2 months. I was so worried not being able to get in contact with her I kept saying to myself, “what if she doesn’t show up on my wedding day.” It was now July and I had no choice but to go on her personal Facebook page (something I would never do to a vendor) because I was running out of ways to contact her and needed to see what was going on. She FINALLY replied through messenger and we set up a date for my trial. Well guess what, she never showed up. My mom and I drove all the way to New Jersey(we are in Lehigh Valley, she just changed locations from Stroudsburg, PA to NJ so I had a farther drive for the trial) for her not to arrive. She used the excuse that she got a new calendar system and it didn’t transfer my appointment in. Very unprofessional. Now, 1 month before my wedding I was searching for a new hair and makeup artist. Thank goodness I was able to find one. Other brides be careful, I would hate for this to happen to you!
Words can't express how amazing JLP makeup is. Not only did Jess make me feel and look like myself she enhanced my natural beauty. I never wear make up so I was nervous about looki...
ng fake but this wasn't the case at all. She was also very understanding when I wanted to change up my hair a little bit from the trial and add real flowers. Besides me, all my girls looked just as amazing. All of our hair and makeup held all day and night (11hrs total). Not only that but she was so fun to just talk with and knew exactly what I needed when I was getting anxious (thanks again for the laughs). Jess and her team know what they are doing and I can promise you if you work with them you will not be disappointed. AMAZING! Thank you again for everything.
I can't talk enough about how much I loved my hair and makeup. I knew Jessica was the one for me when I saw a picture on her instagram account of an incredible viking-inspired brai...
d she created for one of her brides. It was incredibly intricate and detailed - even though I did not go for a viking braid for my own look, I knew I was in good hands with Jessica's talent and attention to detail!
On the day, she showed up early which I appreciated and perfectly re-created my reference photo. Not only that but my curls held for almost 5 hours in muggy, humid 80 degree August weather! And my photog commented on how perfectly matte my face was three hours in even though I was sweating bullets under my dress.
I also want to say that I really loved how Jessica did my makeup. I don't wear any makeup in my daily life and was worried about looking too made-up for my wedding or that my fiance wouldn't recognize me lol! But I ended up with perfect, clean, dewy makeup and Jessica chose the perfectly amount of "natural" false eyelashes for me. I really loved it all. And she did a perfect job with my two adorable flower girls who loved the chance to be pampered. They got their hair curled and just a little bit of powder and blush and it all looked wonderful. <3
If you are looking for a makeup / hair artist / wedding dress then look now further! We had Jessica do our hair and makeup for my wedding and we all loved how everything came out....
She is on top of everything. I also received a custom wedding dress from her shop. She sent me pics of the dress with each step they took. She got back to me super quick anytime I text her with questions. She showed up on time and ready to start the day of my wedding and she was really flexible with the time. She is so sweet on top of it all. I do not typically write reviews but I was beyond impressed with Jessica and her work. Her shop is really clean and cute as well.
Jess was absolutely amazing. Accommodated all my wishes and made all of us glow. I couldn’t have dreamed of better for my big day and am beyond thankful for every obstacle she pull...
ed off (like sewing my moms zipper that broke lol). She definitely went out of her way for us and I Am forever grateful.
Jessica was absolutely amazing. She made that part of my wedding day so carefree. I didn't have to worry about a thing. I had 9 bridesmaids, 1 mother, two flower girls, and myself ...
(bride). She made a schedule prior that allowed that morning to go as smooth as possible. They were a dream team and worked at a great pace for having to take care of so many of us. I am still getting complemented on my wedding hair. She also did my hair and makup for my engagment pictures. From here on out she will be the only one I contact for any hair or makup in the future.
Jessica always had timely responses to all of my inquiries and concerns. Following my hair trial, there were a few things I envisioned differently for my wedding day and Jessica to...
ok it all in stride. I never felt as beautiful as I did on my wedding day and a huge part of that is thanks to Jessica! All of my bridesmaids' hair, my own hair, and both of the mothers' hair were all done to perfection. Jessica took our inspiration hairstyles and made them even more beautiful than we could have imagined - truly phenomenal work! I also had Jessica airbrush my makeup and it turned out perfectly! I am a minimalist, particularly when it comes to makeup, but she made me look so natural and flawless that you could still see all of my freckles but none of my blemishes! I truly cannot say enough about how great Jessica was. She rolled with all of the planning changes so easily, was flexible, personable, and made my morning run smoothly! My wedding was exactly a month ago (6 Oct) and I still think about how beautiful I felt that day.
Jessica was fantastic to work with, very open and listened to what I was envisioning for my big day (ended up going with something completely different on my wedding day versus my ...
makeup trial). She got through all my girls (5) hair and 2 makeups really quick (started at 9:45am and got to me at 12pm).
Jess is the queen of cool- EVERY step of the way she kept me super calm, super informed, open, honest, and up to try anything I suggested, (even when I wound up going with exactly ...
the first thing she suggested each time, becuase she nailed it the first time.)
I never wear a full face of make up, so I also appreciated her explaining the steps and products to me when I needed clarification. AND EVERYTHING HELD AWESOME. and I cried 100 times and it looked beautiful and felt beautiful the whole night. Thank you Jess!!!
Amazing and professional services!
There are no words to describe how amazing Jessica and her team were! First off, I had a terrible experience with a makeup and hair trial. My wedding was in July and I went to Jess...
crying in April because I didn't know how 11 girls would get their hair and makeup done on my wedding day. She put my mind at ease, whipped up my hair and makeup in no time and it was better than I had ever envisioned. The day of the wedding came around and Jess and her team made each of us feel special, cared for and everyone felt and looked amazing! All of my bridesmaids told me afterwards how much fun it was getting ready and how much they LOVED their hair and makeup. My cousin even ended up booking her for her own wedding! Thank you Jess! You made my special day extra perfect! <3

nd professional. They helped my bridesmaids with decisions on how they wanted to look and the looks stayed well put-together all night. Jessica was very responsive in helping organize the schedule for getting ready and accommodated some changes at my request. Overall it was a great experience.

my bridesmaids looked absolutely gorgeous. Jess was so patient with them all showing up not knowing what they wanted, and patient with me switching hair styles at the last minute. I couldn’t pinpoint exactly what I wanted however after showing Jess some ideas she did my hair Better than I ever could have imagined. My husband couldn’t get over it and kept saying how amazing my hair and make up were. I would recommend her to everyone and was beyond happy with how I looked on my big day and can’t thank Jess enough for that!
Jess and Laurie were absolutely perfect from trials to the big day! Laurie showed up on time and was able to make my entire bridal party, my mom and myself up with a few minutes to...

Jess and her team did an awesome job with my girls and I on my big day. She was professional, efficient, and super reasonably priced. She did a wonderful job!

wer questions. My girls and I had Laurie, and she was the sweetest. I ended up changing the make up look from my trial so I was a little nervous on how the look would be without trying it first but let me tell you she did a fabulous job and I couldn’t be happier. She managed to make me look like a bride but still myself. Also she managed to finish early with 7 girls. I highly recommend this company.

ompany wise is incredibly welcoming and comfortable. I am incredibly indecisive and ended up having three paid hair trials. After the third, she was able to combine multiple pictures that I showed her to create the perfect hairstyle for my wedding! I texted her less than a week before the wedding to have this third trial, and she was happy to accommodate me. By the way, her studio space is wonderful too.
On the day of the wedding, her girls arrived on time and ready to work. My wife and I had our hair done by Jessica and the rest of the bridal party (14 girls!!!!) had hair and makeup done. Everyone was happy with the results. Everyone who came was nice, professional, and talented! They were able to stay ahead of schedule which was a relief having so many people involved. Our vibe was rustic and romantic. Biased probably, but my hair was my favorite style. I got compliments ALL night on how beautiful and unique it was! Contact Jessica and she will be happy to work with whatever you need!

day of my wedding. she listened to what each of my girls wanted, and she made us all look beautiful. She also had a ton of ideas for girls who were unsure of what they wanted. My hair and makeup lasted all day through the humidity and dancing. I would definitely recommend Jessica for your wedding!

e very professional and friendly and arrived right on time, even to a venue that was difficult to find. They were very accommodating and even managed to squeeze in one more person than we had initially planned. I am so pleased with JLP makeup and I felt absolutely beautiful on my wedding day.
I initially decided to go with JLP for my wedding party's hair and makeup based off of the amazing reviews I read and good initial communication I had with Jessica. In initial mess...
ages she was responsive, and the prices were better than other companies I was considering. However, after booking my contract with JLP, I had a different experience. I booked my trial at their East Stroudsburg location. I was given only the address and no further directions. The place was extremely difficult to find as you need to enter through the back door of a bank building and they have no signs. I was not given a phone number at any point to call with questions. At my trial, I was overcharged, and had to later reference my contract for the correct price. After the trial, my makeup was quickly wearing off and my curls were falling flat. I contacted my artist and Jessica to let them know, and I was assured they would make the necessary changes to correct this for my wedding day, which they did.
About a month before the wedding Jessica contacted me for timing information so she could put together a schedule. Despite asking multiple times about prices and schedule, I did not get either of these things (which multiple people were asking me for) until a few days before the wedding. Throughout this process I had to send 2-3 emails before receiving a response, and often not all of my questions were answered. This added a lot of stress for me in the month before my wedding.
On the wedding day our artists were friendly and professional. I am giving 3 stars because I am happy with how my hair and makeup turned out, despite everything described above. All of my bridesmaids were happy with how their hair turned out, but there were mixed reviews about their makeup.
Overall they came through in the end, but I think working with this company added a lot of stress to my wedding planning.
I can not say enough good things about Jessica. I initially had a makeup trial done by the salon at my venue. Three months before my wedding I decided I wasn't happy with how that ...
trial went. I reached out to Jessica who fit me in quickly for another trial. She was personable and genuinely did everything to make sure I was happy with the outcome. I showed her a few inspiration pictures. She created a look similar but with her own twist to accent my features. It turned out better than I was expecting. The day of my wedding, a few people in the wedding party were unhappy with the look they received from another salon. Jessica offered to help those ladies achieve their desired look as well. She was also incredibly understanding with all the interruptions. Her pricing was reasonable for everything she does/use. I opted for the airbrushed makeup. It held up all night into the early morning hours and my compliments were endless. I'm so glad I found her.

apprehensive but my oh my, did she deliver!!! I received tons of compliments and if I need a makeup artist again, no more searching required. She even fit in my sister the day of, so pleasant and professional.
Thank you Jessica for helping our wedding day run smoothly...you rock.
Jessica was very professional. My hair and makeup looked amazing for my wedding!! I would absolutely recommend her to anyone!
Jessica did an AMAZING job with my trial! If I was rating just her I would give her 5 out of 5 stars but unfortunately a month before my wedding Jessica had to go to another event ...
on my wedding date so I was assigned another artist. When asked if I could get a free or discounted trial with the new artist I was told I could get a discount of only $30 (130-30 still equals 100). When trying to save money and cut corners for a wedding an additional $100 is a lot personally to ask a bride to spend when I already booked a previous trial for the full $130.
On my wedding day was the first time I met the new artist and there were multiple times miscommunication came into play
1. She taught i was getting airbrush makeup, when at my trial we discussed using regular foundation and no airbrush needed
2. I was under the impression a check was okay, when my artist stated I should have had cash on me.
3. The final product for my makeup wasn't as glam as my vision or as Jessica created on my trial day. I look back at pictures of both and there is a clear difference between the two looks.
