Ugh where do I begin. Joanna made us comfortable from our very first day with her. On the wedding day her staff was prompt and on time and extremely sweet. Not to mention she sent me 16 sneak peek photos within 24 hours of my wedding. She is extremely talented but also an amazing person. She has become a friend to us from this process and I look forward to using her in our future again.

This review is long overdue - we worked with Joanna for our engagements in June 2020 and for our wedding this past July. It is a huge understatement to say that she is AMAZING! Before even talking about the quality of her work, I would be crazy not to point out just how awesome she is as a person. She literally helped us figure out the buttons on my wedding gown, was a trooper dealing with our very excited pup, and was a SERIOUS hype girl during both sessions. We felt so comfortable with her! My bridal party still talks about how much they loved her (we all do!). As for the quality of her work - I mean, holy smokes. Neither my husband or I had ever done a photo shoot before our engagements and Joanna walked us through all the poses so that we’d know what to do (and literally cheered us on the whole way). I will cherish those photos forever and the memory of taking them with my then-fiancé. There was zero stress! Needless to say, we were so excited to work with Joanna again on our wedding day. Obviously, you only get one chance to capture those moments and we trusted her completely. She was encouraging, efficient, and so kind every step of the way. We had our shots back within a few weeks and they are so, so, so stunning. She captured the happiness of our day so perfectly and I will forever be grateful. Joanna is a testament to the magic of photography - I can’t wait to show off our photos to our kids someday, and their kids after that! Thank you, Joanna!!!!!

Joanna is the absolute best! She is so professional and creative all while being fun and whimsical. She handled the photos for our engagement shoot and postponed wedding. When looking for a wedding photographer, Joanna hit ever criteria that we wanted during the search process. Quality was crucial to us for photos and as you can tell from looking at her work, she for sure brought it!!! Her skills are amazing, but she is also an amazing person. Joanna took time to meet with me after I asked her for help with the wedding timeline. Not to mention how kind she was when we decided to postpone a year. She made sure everything was transferred over to my new date smoothly. I gave her examples of photos I liked for the wedding day and she made sure those were created and fit into the timeline. She did her absolute best to make sure I got the pictures I wanted with my 99 year old grandmother, that I will forever cherish. She did a great job of offering suggested poses rather than uncomfortably prodding us into position. Joanna’s ability to go with the flow also helped calm our nerves and get us through a busy timeline effortlessly. She sure is one of a kind an amazing photographer! We are so glad we went with her for our special day!

If there is one thing you need on your wedding day it is JOANNA!! If I could give 10 stars on here, I would. As we were traveling from out of state and in the current covid climate, we did not get to meet Joanna prior to our wedding. With that being said, It felt like we had known her for forever!! She is the most kind, genuine, sweet person and makes you feel 100% comfortable in front of the camera. Not only is SHE amazing, her pictures are INCREDIBLE! Her assistant Molly was just as amazing as well. If we lived closer, I would schedule every single holiday, family, just because portraits with her! Joanna - we adore you!!!

She joined us two days in a row--first for an intimate ceremony with three guests in the midst of the pandemic, and then for an adventure around Brooklyn to capture the perfect shots. Joanna is wonderful. It was pouring rain the day of my wedding and she kept everyone in a good mood (which we were all happy anyway, but she helped keep that going!). I don't really know how I stumbled upon Joanna Fisher's website, but seeing her photos for the very first time could only be, for lack of a better word, described as fate. As soon as my now husband and I saw Joanna's portfolio, we knew we had to have her as our wedding photographer. My now husband and I didn't have any real experience in front of the camera and for both events, Joanna made us feel so comfortable and natural which made for the most amazing pictures! She also listened our vision with our "must have" photos, but we trusted her so much to take control at times and try things that made for the most beautiful pictures while still keeping our style. We had a tricky family dynamic and Joanna worked so well to keep everyone on the same page and focused. The wedding day itself is so stressful, but Joanna and her 2nd photographer Dani made everything run so smoothly. We had 99.9% of all of our photos completed before the ceremony started (we did a first look), with only a few couple portraits to do after the ceremony, so everyone could enjoy the cocktail hour. We can't thank Joanna enough for capturing such beautiful photos that we'll have forever. And P.S. her turnaround time is AMAZING. We had over 900 photos delivered to our email less than a month after the wedding.

Joanna, We can’t say enough good things about Joanna and her incredible contribution to our wedding! Even though we had never met her in person before (we’re based in Boston but our wedding was in CT), she was fantastic, always responsive over email, and patiently answered any and all of our annoying questions from day one. Her photos on Instagram painted amazing pictures of how she captured super intimate, and memorable moments, and from our research, we knew she was the one we wanted to have be a part of our special day. On the day of, she was on site and ready to go, she stuck to our (extremely tight) timeline and made everything work without feeling rushed or stagnant. She was super fun and informal and made us feel comfortable despite very prolonged stretches of kissing shots. She worked with our weird humor, and it felt very natural to work with her. She gave plenty of direction, which we had asked for, and suggested some really unbelievable shots that we never would’ve thought of. She was very unobtrusive, worked super well with our videographers and was very patient with everyone. She made sure to capture some incredible moments, including the sunset just behind our venue, while making sure it took no more than 10 minutes so that we could go back and be with our guests. None of this even compares to the unbelievable photos she captured. We’ve only seen a few so far, but it’s already obvious that her work is INCREDIBLE. She managed to make us look anything but ordinary, and her fine art photography style is truly gorgeous. She’s so friendly and sweet, it was honestly the best experience we could’ve hoped for, and we can’t wait to work with her again in the future!

Joanna is not only a skilled, artistic, and attentive photographer; she's also a caring, compassionate, fun, interesting, and energetic person! There are so many talented photographers out there, but it was important for me that the person we worked with was also someone who we could enjoy for the entire beautiful, stressful, hectic day. Joanna and her second shooter Elizabeth were both wonderful, soothing, fun presences on my wedding day, and the pictures they captured were perfect and amazing. She was also super easy to communicate/meet/arrange details with before/during/after the wedding. And as someone who is camera shy and pretty uncomfortable with being the center of attention, she definitely contributed to making the day more comfortable and fun for me.

Joanna (and her second photographer Dani) are truly gifted. I am not a religious person, but I honestly feel blessed that they photographed our wedding day. The photos are beyond perfect and captured the essence of our relationship. They pre-selected locations for individual and group shots around an expansive property with close attention to our requests, and were very attentive to including our dog harper in our photos. Joanna was extremely responsive to emails when booking and creating our day of timeline and always made me feel my questions were reasonable even when I knew they were ridiculous. Joanna promptly provided teaser photos in just a couple of days then delivered our full online album several weeks earlier than promised in her contract. There are not enough stars to adequately rate Joanna's contribution to our wedding day and we cant wait to work with her again <3

Asking Joanna Fisher to be our wedding photographer was one of the first steps we took when we started planning our wedding. She was the photographer for my friend's wedding, and I loved her photos. Luckily, Joanna was available and she made the process effortless. She was flexible, worked with our budget, and had useful suggestions. She was extra professional and so much fun! Joanna was a doll! She is easy going, and remained calm even during the dreaded formal family shots that always seem to go on forever. She helped pick bugs out of my dress and literally gave the sweater off her back for me to sit on in order to avoid my dress getting dirty. She trekked through tick-ridden grass to get the perfect shots. She has a beautiful talent and my photos are gorgeous! There is one image that I have been told multiple times belongs in a bridal magazine. She captured the essence of the day and has given me my most cherished memories in a beautiful display of photos. She sent me my thumb drive within a month of the wedding, and she takes time to print a few pictures and package everything beautifully! It just makes getting the pictures that much more exciting.

Five stars is not enough! I don't know if ten would even do Joanna justice! We Worked with Joanna on our engagement photos and the day of and were just floored at how well everything came out. She has a way of finding the perfect spot at the perfect time with the perfect lighting in every shot. One huge thing she does is give attention to the details. Jeff and I had the pleasure of working with Joanna for over a year, and a pleasure it has been. We met Joanna at our engagement party where she captured beautiful candid shots of family, and friends, as well as some great shots of just me and Jeff. When I think of Joanna and the talent she has, more than a few words come to mind. She made me feel comfortable and at ease, and I knew from the moment we meet that she undestood my vision and what I imagined of our pictures for our wonderful December wedding. Not only did she win me over with her calm and awe-spiring approach, but we shared a love for all things Disney; amongst many other common interests. Hiring a photographer was one of the hardest choices aside from our reception site. We met with 4-5 different photographers and after a lengthy conversation my husband and I decided to go with Joanna. We are so happy we did! For our wedding we added a second photographer and hired Joanna for 9 hours. The beginning of our wedding day was a little stressful since our limo broke down and we almost had to drive ourselves to the church (actually my husband and the groomsmen had to). Joanna was there to not only photograph the day, but she jumped in to help when I was stressed out about getting to the church. We unfortunately had a rainy wedding day, but Joanna and her assistant braved some sprinkling weather to get the beach shots that I was dying to have. We were not able to make it outside again for more outdoor photos at the reception site, but were able to take some shots under a covered patio. Those were some of my favorite shots since you could see the raindrops in the background of my husband and I (it was great scenery). Not only did Joanna make us feel completely comfortable during our wedding, she even stayed after hours to capture some extra shots on the dance floor. We could not have asked for a better photographer!

I can not even find the words to describe how wonderful and amazing Joanna is. Right away my husband and I took to her fun and bubbly personality, finding we have a lot in common. Joanna made us feel extremely comfortable and like our true selves when we were with her. This made us feel at ease during the sessions we had together and produced absolutely beautiful photographs! We moved easily from shot to shot and wasted little time in between. Joanna knew how to quickly place us for the perfect composition that looked natural. We did an engagement shoot and hired her for our wedding as well. She worked with us on exactly what we wanted in our package, customizing it to fit our budget and needs. This was a big plus in my book as a lot of other photographers we met with would not do this and were a bit haughty in my opinion. I like that Joanna is down to earth and easy going, she took a lot of the stress out of things for me so I didn't have to worry about anything with her. I trusted her to do what she needed to do and tell me what she needed from me and it was smooth sailing. She even went with us to our wedding location (an hour away in Waterford CT) and mapped out the best places for family and wedding party pictures as well as our pictures. This also helped everything go very smoothly on our actual wedding day and I could not be more thrilled with how everything turned out. Personally, I think her photographs speak for her amazing talent and enough could not be said about that. But, what truly made her the best photographer I have ever met was her personality and the ease with which everything went from beginning to end. I can not wait until the day my husband and I are ready to start a family so we can have Joanna do a maternity shoot as well as another session when the baby is born! I highly recommend Joanna for all the important moments you want captured on film!

I am actually a local New Haven wedding planner and have had the pleasure of getting to know Joanna over the past year. I had clients' getting married this past weekend (May 2, 2015) and the photographer they had hired themselves had gone completely radio silent in the month leading up to the wedding. As a planner, I needed to make sure they had a plan B in case their photographer decided not to show up! I immediately got in touch with Joanna who luckily was still available on such extremely short notice. She was so very helpful and extremely accommodating, and was willing to be on standby for my clients' in case the photographer never showed up. At the (VERY) at minute, the original photographer finally did get in touch and showed up on the wedding day, despite their extremely poor communication skills, so we did not end up needing Joanna's services. However the fact that she was so accommodating for this potential emergency further proves to me that not only is Joanna an extremely talented photographer, but a consummate professional. She is absolutely someone you should hire for your wedding day!

absolutely amazing! the level of professionalism is outstanding! Joanna captured all the precious moments, action shots that were priceless, and portraits of the bridal party that we love! she was so easy to work with, made us feel comfortable and she was determined to make it as personal and as close to our vision as we wanted. the quality of the pictures and how fast we received them back was just perfect! a couple weeks after our wedding we were able to share those special moments with our friends and family and they all were just as happy with them as we were. absolutely amazing work, she respects your needs, wants,and wishes, and with her great personality she make a photographer I will definitely contact again for anything in the future as well as recommend her!
