We had the pleasure of having Joe Hy as our wedding photographer for our June 2019 wedding. I cannot say enough good things about Joe and everything he did to make our wedding day special. From having to photograph on one of the hottest, sunniest days outside, and even in the rain latter on in the evening, Joe rolled with it to give us photos that were more beautiful than I could ever imagine. He was so professional that even our guests were impressed by his attire and willingness to go above and beyond. I remember at one point joe laying on the rain soaked ground to get a good photo, and if that’s not dedication, I don’t know what is. Hiring Joe to be our wedding photographer is one thing I will never regret in our wedding planning process. I would STRONGLY recommend that if you are in need of a photographer you choose Joe Hy. He will not disappoint from attire, to getting groups of people posed, and even surprises AFTER your wedding. Thank you Joe for creating such beautiful photos for us on our big day!

We booked Joe for our November wedding based on the pictures we saw in his portfolio and on his price. He was very well reasonably priced and we love our pictures. Joe traveled to Rochester for our wedding and called me the morning of to let me know he was on his way, which was very reassuring. We told joe ahead of time that we wanted to go to Cobbs Hill for outdoor pictures. Joe had a great attitude and braved a very windy 35 degree day to get the shots we wanted. He was great with our wedding party and we would absolutely recommend him!

He did amazing. He was able to capture everything we wanted! He was easy to get a hold of and made sure we had everything we wanted done before he left.

Joe was professional and responsive throughout the planning process and the wedding. He was attentive to my requests for photos beforehand and during the day itself. I appreciated Joe's diplomatic demeanor as he juggled requests from both myself and my mom the day of. I felt that Joe had a good eye for a scene or positioning that would work well. He provided guidance to help get the bride, groom, families, and wedding party into position for the formal photos, with the right amount of humor and leadership. The photos from the reception showcased all of the action and fun! His online gallery made it easy to share the photos with friends, and to download photos according to the package I had purchased.

Joe Hy deserves more than 5 stars. We chose Joe for 2 main reasons: 1. We loved his work 2. He was someone we could see ourselves friends with. We knew we needed someone we could relax and have fun around and Joe was the perfect choice. We laughed a lot! He is incredibly organized and meticulous. He is a great leader and kept everyone on track. He never rushed us and made sure that all the pictures I wanted were taken. He was so creative and thought of picture ideas on the spot which turned out gorgeous. His assistant was also a great help, pointing out picture ideas, keeping us on schedule and bustling my dress throughout the day! My wedding pictures turned out absolutely stunning. Everyone asks where I found such a talented, fantastic photographer. I am so incredibly thankful that we chose Joe and I look forward to watching his career blossom further-- he is destined to go far! Thank you Joe for making my dreams come true!

Joe photographed our wedding this past July and we couldn't be any happier with him. He presented himself as someone that would be "invisible" during our day and that is exactly what we got. Joe placed himself in the perfect spot to get all of our great photos, but was never in the way of our guests. He has such a calm presence, but he also brought humor to our day. His attention to detail is evident in all of his photos. He didn't miss any photos that we requested him to get. He showed up on time and kept us on the schedule that we needed to be on to get the party started on time! Joe was even part of a plan to get me in the right spot at the right time for me to receive a super duper surprise bride gift after the ceremony. Do yourself a favor and book Joe to take your ceremony or engagement pictures. You will be nothing but completely satisfied.

Joe was so helpful before, during, and after the wedding to make sure we were on the same page the whole time! He keeps in communication well, didn't mind how many random emails I would send, and got me my images within two weeks! He creates such beautiful images and I am so glad I found him at the bridal show! Thank you again Joe!

Joe was our photographer for our engagement photos as well as our wedding on July 15th. He was very professional and easy to work with. Our wedding was extremely hot and it made for some cranky subjects to shoot (myself included). He was patient with everyone and made sure that everything we wanted photographed was captured. I can’t say enough good things. I highly recommend using Joe as your wedding photographer!

Joe is an excellent photographer. He shot our engagement pictures and was our photographer for our wedding in April. Not only is he very considerate when it comes to specific shots you want to get, his ability to capture those special "in the moment" pictures is second to none. My wife and I were brought to tears multiple time when looking through the final pictures with our family. Anyone can take pictures, but Joe is an incredible artist whose work I will happily display on our walls and enjoy for the rest of our lives.

Joe stepped in to be my photographer after my initial photographer got pregnant and wasnt able to shoot our wedding. Because of that, we only had the opportunity to speak via email and phone. However, everything went smoothly. Joe was on time, friendly, and got the job done. He was very cognizant of making sure we got all of the photos I had asked him for. We were running a bit behind schedule for various (unrelated) reasons throughout the day and he did a great job keeping us on track. Great pictures for a very reasonable price! Finally, most people have to wait over a month to get their full galleries and we had ours 2 weeks after the wedding!! Id recommend Joe to anyone in the Finger Lakes or surrounding regions! Edit: I've noticed that Joe's prices have gone up considerably since we booked with him. While I appreciated the pictures we got and felt they were worth the price we paid, I did want to provide context for future brides. For reference, we paid 1500 for 8 hours of photography.

Highly recommend! Joe photographed my engagement photos and wedding, and he did an excellent job! He took charge and made me feel totally at ease that he would get all the photos I really wanted of our big day. And he did not let me down! He was very discreet during the wedding ceremony and reception that I hardly noticed he was there at all! It was wonderful!

If i could rate higher I would! Joe did our engagement photos and shot our wedding. We had a pretty non-traditional wedding, we didn't have any solid plans or schedule and Joe just rolled with the punches as they came. We wanted to keep things pretty candid but Joe made sure we had all of the traditional wedding shots as well. Our wedding was on a lake and I really wanted to capture the beauty of the surroundings, he did that perfectly. He worked with our 19 person wedding party with ease and professionalism. The photo album and shots we got after the wedding were absolutely perfect, we love showing them off. Our family members still comment on Joe Hy's professionalism, demeanor and skill. He also did a newborn/family shoot for us recently and we were so impressed with the photos! We couldn't have asked for a better experience and highly recommend Joe to anyone. We definitely plan to work with him again in the future!

Joe was great to work with and easy to get a hold of! He made taking pictures between the ceremony and reception a breeze!

Joe was amazing. We found him by pure chance at a bridal show and immediately noticed how great his photography was. As we got to talking he was able to offer us a really good deal on the spot, which we accepted. His coordination and planning leading up to the wedding was virtually painless, and he was extremely easy to talk to or suggest things to. Never once did we feel we couldn't ask Joe for anything specific, and during the times where we were unsure of specifically what we wanted, he was able to provide really great suggestions to choose from. Not only was he very professional before, during, and after our wedding, he also made it a lot of fun (and normally I don't find picture taking fun). After an engagement session and wedding, I am confident in saying that Joe is definitely your guy if you are looking for high class, high quality, professional photography.

We loved having Joe photograph our wedding! I am not usually a huge fan of photo shoots, but taking pictures with Joe was a very fun an enjoyable experience. He sat down with us ahead of time and made sure he was able to understand all the photos we wanted from our big day so that when the time came to take pictures, we weren't scrambling and trying to figure it all out-the photos went very smoothly on our wedding day! He scoped out the scenes around our church and reception area and picked out beautiful places for us to take additional photos. Our pictures turned out wonderful, and we had a blast taking them. We love showing them to friends and family. It's a great way to look back on our wedding day because he beautifully captured every detail and memory that was made.

Joe photographed my husband's and my wedding day and everything turned out beyond what I expected. The pictures were breathtaking and we received them in a very timely manner. We honestly forgot Joe was taking pictures during the ceremony. He wasn't at all intrusive, was an absolute pleasure to work with, and was very dedicated to every picture he took over the day long event. I would highly recommend him to anyone wanting to preserve their wedding day though pictures. You will have these pictures to cherish for a lifetime, and I wouldn't change a thing!
