About this vendor
My approach to wedding photography is simple - I capture all of the genuine emotions of the day in an artful and visually striking way. This means documenting the love, joy, surprise, nervousness, humor, and all of the other emotions you will feel in a way that stands the test of time. The guiding principle behind this is straightforward and based on years of experience - when you look at your wedding photos in the years to come, you will want to remember exactly how you felt on the day, and the only way to do that is if the photos honestly capture the authentic emotions of the day. I am not the photographer who needs to be in control of everything and stage-managing the action, simply because then I would be changing the mood. When you look back at my photos on an anniversary, the following conversation will never happen:
Your Spouse: "Why do have the same forced smile in all of the photos?"
You: "I don't know, the photographer kept telling me to smile."
I am happy to take as many posed photos of you and your wedding party, families, and friends as you like, and if you look through my gallery and website, you'll see I'm pretty good at doing this in creative and dynamic ways. But during the rest of the day I work hard to capture all of the emotions as they happen naturally.
Maybe your ceremony will be non-traditional, or maybe it will be outdoors or reduced in size because of social distancing requirements. That's no problem because honestly, most of the weddings I shoot are non-traditional in one way or another, and I know how to wear a mask and stay safe. Maybe you're worried that you won't have full rights to do whatever you like with your wedding photos? Worry not, because I like taking photos, not managing rights and permissions. When you get your photos, they are yours to do whatever you like with. Forever. You never have to ask me for permission to do anything.
Take a look through my gallery and my website, and if you like what you see and think that my style matches what you want for your wedding, send me a note!

Joe is AMAZING to work with. He's creative, friendly and very flexible. The photos for our wedding turned out fantastic. Contact him. You won't regret it!
Having Joe photograph our wedding was an absolute joy. Because of COVID, our wedding celebration looked different than we originally planned, but Joe was patient, flexible, and ope...
n-minded throughout prep and the day of. He visited our outdoor location the day prior to scope out great spots for photographs, but was also totally open to the ideas my husband and I had. Our pre-ceremony couple photos went off without a hitch and are stunning. Joe truly honored our vision for the day -- which were for my husband and I to share our promises with each other, embrace the nature around us, honor the family and friends we love, and laugh a lot. Joe even kept his cool as intense rain delayed our ceremony for a bit and managed to get awesome shots during and after our ceremony as well. He is the ultimately professional. Also, he shared most of our photos within a few weeks, which was a great turnaround.
We have delayed our larger wedding reception to fall 2021, when it is hopefully safe to have large groups together again, and have asked Joe to photograph that gathering as well. He is kind, talented, and wants you to have photos that capture your day as you wish to have it captured. My husband I absolutely recommend Joe Szurszewski for any event!
My husband and I (and all of our wedding guests) can't stop raving about Joe. Not only are his photos amazing, but Joe is a breeze to work with and ready for anything. He knows wha...
t questions to ask and when to give his professional advice. He's as good as having two photographers--seemingly everywhere and able to capture all the big and small events during our wedding day. He can think on his feet and is ready for all the unplanned moments that unfold during the day. While Joe can take beautiful posed pictures, he really has an eye for candid shots, and we opted for almost all candid photography for our day. We couldn't be more pleased with the outcome. His photos show the unfiltered feeling of our wedding. When we looked through our wedding gallery for the first time, it really felt like we were reliving the day. We feel so lucky to have found Joe as our wedding photographer. There's no other photographer that could've worked our wedding the way he did. My advice to anyone looking for a photojournalist to capture their wedding: stop looking and contact Joe. He's your guy.

or the day. The day of, things went so smoothly with getting all our pictures taken and the outcome was amazing! Joe had a very good turn around rate with getting the pictures to us. We LOVE the book he made too. It is so well put together and the pictures are of great quality. We would recommend Joe to anyone!
Joe did a wonderful job capturing the events and moments of our special day! We are so grateful for him and the photos he took. He was wonderful!
Joe did an amazing job with both our wedding and engagement photos. He was extremely flexible and willing to spend hours with us to get just the right shots and capture our entire ...
day. He gave just enough direction for the posed photos, but was very hands off for the remainder of the evening. The photos are phenomenal -- capturing all of our special, personal moments. Thank you Joe!!
Joe was great! All the pictures turned out great (all 2700!). He was with us for 15 hours. At the reception and the dance, he was never in the way. In fact, we usually didn't see h...
im until there was a photographic moment. He took alot of impromptu pictures that "caught the moment". We couldn't have been happier with him and the picture quality. I love having access and the rights to the pictures so we can do whichever we would like with them.
