We had a blast with Joelle! She completely worked with what we wanted, and us guys had a blast interacting with her. Her work was spot-on where we had to struggle while picking our favorites! Her structure through the day really helped us stay on schedule. We would've been lost without her! Joelle, thank you so much for making our day special!

I couldn’t possibly capture in this little box how fantastic and refreshing it was to work with a photographer like Joelle. She was flexible, professional, and made having engagement-turned-newlywed photos such a romantic experience. (My husband literally said as we were leaving: “That was like a romantic date.”) And he was so right! From scouting the most beautiful, scenic landscape to fit our vision... to dreaming up the most adorable ice creamery photos (!!)... giving gentle cues and occasional prompts to ensure photos would capture us at our best angles and lighting (for anyone who may fear not knowing what to do with their hands)... to capturing photos that feel natural, whimsical, and romantic. It was exactly what attracted me to Joelle as a potential photographer, and she delivered so much more than I could’ve imagined. On a personal note, Joelle was invested in understanding us as a couple and—knowing Josh was soon deploying—took a vested interest in ensuring we would have photos to view before he left. We were in total awe, and truly blown away at her personal investment in her clients. Ladies and gentlemen, The Dowds couldn’t possibly recommend Joelle Julian Photography more! I just looked through my wedding album and I asked my husband if we could get married again. That is how well Joelle captured the best day of our life. Joelle was absolutely amazing to work with, from the engagement pictures to the day of. Joelle was more than willing to answer every little question that I could throw at her throughout the process. The day of our wedding, she made everything seem like it was not a rush, she made sure she got the best pictures of us no matter what, even working with a horse! Joelle was more than I could have asked for, I could not have asked for anything more!! Thank you Joelle!

Joelle was amazing to work with – we won’t be able to say enough about her work, talent and communication! We went with Joelle as our photographer since I have always loved seeing her work as I’ve followed her work for the past 7+ years! We did both engagement photos and our winter wedding in Minneapolis. We were hesitant to do engagement photos, but Joelle made them seem so simple! It was also a great opportunity for us to get comfortable with each other and being in front of a camera prior to the wedding. Her personality kept us excited throughout the whole shooting and she provided great guidance on what to do next and even found ways to distract us from how cold it was. We are SO happy we got these done as they turned out so perfect! We even got to include our puppy for a few photos 😊 Joelle was responsive throughout the hundreds of questions we had leading up to our wedding – she always provided her insight, suggestions and feedback on what we were looking for, wanting to do and timelines for the overall day. The survey/tool we filled out prior to the wedding had all the right questions and helped us piece everything together. The process of shooting for our wedding was so simple! She had everything noted correctly for who is who, who we wanted photos with, the special moments we wanted captured AND got a ton of candid photos that we absolutely love! We spent almost two hours reliving our wedding day flipping through the hundreds of photos with tears in our eyes as all the pictures were captured so perfectly. We can’t get enough of viewing our photos and now are having a hard time picking which ones we are going to print! Each person who has seen Joelle’s work between our engagement and wedding photos have said she captured us perfectly as a couple, showing our personalities in a picture and shot the best moments perfectly throughout our entire wedding day. We are so grateful (and lucky!) we had Joelle as our photographer! We have been recommending Joelle to everyone we know and can’t wait to have her shoot our life events for years to come!

Joelle was the absolute BEST decision I made when choosing my wedding vendors. First of all, she made the experience of taking photographs of us extremely comfortable, fun and natural. She didn't force us into uncomfortable poses and nothing felt too staged or cheesy. She mainly just let us do our thing while she captured the best moments, and she got excited everytime she got a good shot so it made us even more excited shooting with her! Secondly, she is meticulous about her work and makes sure she puts in the time to get the best shots. She is creative and very passionate about capturing the perfect moments. We never felt rushed. When we first got our photos back, we were shocked by how amazing they turned out. They captured the feel and real emotions that were feeling that day and they were raw and so well done. She got the most important moments from multiple angles (since she had a second shooter) and the lighting was amazing. She edited them so perfectly and we fell in love all over again looking at them. She was so easy to work with and so personable. I trusted her immediately after meeting her. She even facetimed me since at the time I was in Chicago at school trying to plan my wedding at the same time. She made everything about us while getting all the shots I wanted. Half the time, you forgot she was there and the pictures show it. We look like we are in our element in every photo. Even my husband, who is normally not comfortable in a front of a camera felt good shooting with her and LOVED how the pictures turned out, even the ones she got of him getting ready. We have printed and framed multiple of them for a gallery wall already and I could not be happier. She went above and beyond, especially on our wedding day. Lastly, she is also very well priced for the quality you receive. She included an engagement shoot which I really thought was important since it let us know we could work with her and gave us both a sense of how the photos for our wedding would turn out. I love her style and editing technique. HIRE HER! We will be using her again in the future for sure. She is worth every penny for the memories she captures.

Joelle is amazing. She made us feel comfortable since the minute we met her. She always kept in touch and always returned emails and texts . The day of the wedding she was again amazing. So organized , patient and nice. I don't remember ever being stressed about the photographer. And the pictures are absolutely beautiful! Joelle has done so many weddings of my friends that I continue to recommend her even before I had a significant other of my own! Now that I’m engaged, I couldn’t be happier with our photos and cannot WAIT to see our wedding day photos! Joelle has become the yardstick my mind and heart holds up to measure all other photographers against, and one session with her.... you’ll see why!

Joelle’s photos are absolutely STUNNING; she is such a talented photographer. She is very good at giving directions in a way that will make all her photos look natural and never posed! She makes it super easy and actually fun to get your photos taken. Plus, she is super friendly and approachable which helps create a comfortable atmosphere! It is amazing how Joelle was able to capture my husband and I’s relationship. I found myself smiling, crying and laughing when looking through our photos because they were able to reflect all the emotions of our day. I get to relive the absolute perfect day over and over again because Joelle’s photos captured the day so flawlessly! Wow! There are honestly too many good things I could share about having Joelle as your wedding photographer. She made us feel so relaxed and comfortable all day. We got married in Montana and we loved how Joelle captured the beauty that was around us while still focusing on my new hubby and I. She captured our vibe and the mood of the day perfectly. Every time I look through our pictures it’s like I get to relive our wedding day - which is the greatest thing ever. 10/10 choose Joelle - she is incredible.

Joelle is all you could want in a photographer for your engagement shoot! AWESOME personality, super fun, patient and kind. She kept it light even when we had no idea what we were doing posing. Joelle really loves what she does - and it is apparent from how she conducts her business. Not only is she lovely to work with but she has GREAT talent and was more than willing to go "the extra mile" with my Fiance and I to get the shots that we wanted. We location hopped because we wanted shots in two separate areas of San Diego, and she agreed to go along! 2 outfit changes later (one in the back seat, one on the side of the road), some stressful SD traffic trying to catch the sun, Joelle kept us positive and reassured us we would get all the shots we need. If you are getting married, use Joelle. She was the best photographer we could have asked for. Since our wedding we have had countless requests for her contact info as the pictures could not have been better. She did an amazing job of capturing beautiful, natural photos of us and our guests. Joelle was the easiest "vendor" to work for. During our engagement shoot, she truly made us comfortable in front of the camera ( and I must say, made us look good!). Joelle is phenomenal to work with!! Let me tell you why! Joelle is one of the kindest, sweetest, and easy to work with photographers I know. She is extremely accommodating to all and any of your family needs. She is also EXTREMELY accommodating to your spouse who is more than likely dreading pictures. Her overall presence is rather calming and reassuring, which is much needed on your big day! Overall, Joelle is super talented and gifted at capturing many amazing photos that will make you look back and smile. She is totally worth it! You also get your pictures back in a timely manner! :)

One word: AMAZING. Joelle is seriously better than we ever could have imagined our wedding photographer would be. Our planner recommended her and I am so happy she did. During our first meeting I knew we had to book her. She was so laid back, down to earth, and fun. Joelle's work speaks for itself. The photos are brilliant and she captures the right mix of love, beauty, and natural elements to make your photos all seem perfect. Joelle was so much fun to work with. Everyone was OBSESSED with our engagement photos and that made me even more excited for the wedding. We absolutely LOVE our pictures, but even on top of that we just loved having Joelle there. She was bubbly, got along with everyone in our wedding party, and had the right level of command over the group (and we had a 20-person wedding party / large families). I'm absolutely obsessed with Joelle's photos! Joelle did such an utterly amazing job, seriously so over the moon happy! Not only that, she was an wonderful part of our special day & captured the mood and joy so perfectly.

Incredible. That's all I need to say! Incredible photographer, incredible photographs and incredible experience! We are located in Minnesota and we never had a problem finding time to meet with Joelle while she was in the state. She did a great job incorporating the few requests that we had during our engagement session and during our wedding. My bridal party all LOVED her (and her assistant!) and were so impressed by her professionalism while keeping things fun. My guests loved all of the amazing photographs she captured during our ceremony and especially during our dance (action shots that will be the talk of family gatherings for years to come!). Working with Joelle on our big day went seamless. Our wedding photographs are beautiful, every single one of them. We still have not printed many off, because it's that hard to choose. Joelle is honestly the best! A hometown friend had used her for her wedding, so right when we got engaged we checked to see if she would be available because I loved their photos. From the start she was very professional and prompt in getting back to us. At our engagement session, Joelle made us feel so comfortable and her fun spirit was infectious. She got our engagement photos back to us quickly and we absolutely loved them. Now for the wedding, Joelle was super organized prior to the event. She had a timeline made up and what time everyone was supposed to be available for photos. The day of she arrived early and got right to work. Besides being an unbelievable photographer, she does many extra little things as well. She helped me with my dress, hair, and calmed all of our nerves. She works well with so many people and was able to keep a large bridal group and family on track with time. Joelle absolutely made the day flow without any issues. We were so blessed to have her apart of our day. I would HIGHLY recommend Joelle as a photographer for whatever event you need, big or small. She is a wonderful person and we adore our wedding photos.

My husband and I 100% recommend Joelle Julian Photography! ...Why? 1. Joelle made sure to call me (the bride) before we even signed on to make sure that the services she had to offer would fit with what we were envisioning for our Big Day. Once we decided that she was a good fit for us, the contract part was super duper easy (Plus - Her pricing is very affordable... especially for everything you get!). 2. She sent me a whole Joelle Julian Photography magazine/booklet on tips and tricks for the Engagement Photos, getting ready for the Big Day, Wedding Photos, etc. I've never heard of anyone doing that - So Cool!! 3. She's so free-spirited and fun to be around. Engagement Photos were a blast and we didn't even feel like we were at a photo shoot... we were just being ourselves and every photo turned out WONDERFUL :D 4. You only get married once, so how is one supposed to know good scheduling if you've never done this wedding thing before? About a month or so before the wedding, (since she's photographed like a million weddings) she helped me put together a well-thought-through schedule for the Wedding Day, and that relieved so much stress! 5. In a nutshell - the actual wedding day was FLAWLESS, and Joelle (and her 2nd Photographer - included in our contract!) captured every moment perfectly. She knew exactly what she was doing, stayed on schedule and made sure to capture not just the posed shots, but the small moments going on around us throughout the day. 6. Okay... I know this review is getting lengthy... But I just want you to know that Joelle deserves like 10 stars... but I can only give 5... But pretend there's 10, please. Basically - you'll LOVE having Joelle Julian Photography as your photographer & she'll capture moments that you will be able to look back on for the rest of your life.

Joelle shot our wedding June 2016. From the minute I booked her she was nothing but professional and helpful. I have known her for years and was so thankful to have her beautiful talent a part of our wedding. She makes you feel comfortable and the pictures end up gorgeous. I recommend her to any bride looking for a relaxed, friendly , wonderful person and photographer for their big day.

If I could give more that 5 stars I would! That's how amazing Joelle is! She made us so comfortable, after only meeting her in person twice, I feel like we're friends! My fiance was having a fit before engagement pictures wondering why we would need more than one or 2 pictures, by the end he discovered it wasn't so bad. And our pictures? AMAZING!!! So amazing! I can not say enough how great Joelle is! She gave us some gorgeous photos to remember our day by!

Hands down the best photographer! My husband and I had Joelle take our engagement and wedding photos. She totally rocked it. My husband isn't much of a picture taking guy and after our engagement session he said "Ok, that wasn't bad. I wish everyone had that much enthusiasm about their job. She's awesome!" Joelle is one of those people you meet and instantly want to be her best friend. She exudes friendliness, joy, and PASSION. She LOVES what she does. She will giggle when she has an image she likes, she is just so real. Two years later and my home is FLOODED with both wedding and engagement pictures that she took for us. My husband the other day walked past an engagement picture and said, "that was a fun day." What?! Ladies, if your man says they enjoyed taking pictures, it had to be real, right?! I can tell you that working with Joelle was far more than any expectations I had. Not only do you get the pictures (obviously), you get a completely customizable date night with your main person, that just happens to capture your love on camera. Is there anything better?!
