he sent us a questionnaire to fill out our requests/ideas for specific songs (i.e., processional, first dance) and general music themes (i.e., cocktail hour, during dinner), then had a call with us to go over everything and make sure he was pronouncing our wedding party members’ names correctly. In general, Joey was faster to respond via phone than email, so we recommend getting his phone number to get quick responses. Before the wedding, we provided some songs we wanted and he played them and seamlessly added more songs that fit the same vibe. He did a great job during the reception keeping the energy up and playing into the music that guests liked. He made sure to cater to all age groups, playing music to get older guests dancing earlier and music to keep younger guests dancing as it got later. Joey was very communicative with us during the event, which we appreciated greatly, and adaptable to our last minute music requests and timing of events changes. We also appreciated his accessibility the week of the wedding. He was happy to play songs we suggested on the day, and had good energy and a smile the whole event.
He is an upbeat guy and seemed happy to be making other people happy. Would recommend!!!
At first, Joey seemed like a perfect fit for us! We scheduled phone calls to go over playlists and to go over details, which at the time it seemed great!

shows up to the ceremony dressed in sweatpants and zip up jacket, didn’t know when to stop the ceremony music and had to be reminded by our event coordinator to do so, and then went AWOL during cocktail hour. While he did come back, our event coordinator had to find him and then ended up having to supervise him for most of the night, as he seemed like he was impaired. He was also late with the introduction songs for the wedding party. He didn’t have a microphone, as his conveniently broke on his way to the venue.
He did redeem himself (kind of) for the remainder of the night, but he didn’t really play any slow songs and played the YMCA three times in a row.

g the wedding ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception, he was also superb. He did a very fine job incorporating our own requests while also incorporating his own musical "flavor" into the set — something that we asked him to do. He even danced a little bit with our guests and took some selfies with everyone, we loved it.
If we ever have a need for a DJ again, Joey G will definitely be at the top of our list.

I reached out to my photographer and explained to her that I was looking for someone a little more my vibe - someone who would crank Cardi B and come on the dance floor with me. Without hesitation, she said, Joey G is EXACTLY that. Turns out, she was right! Not only was Joey timely, professional, and organized, he was also super freaking cool and fun and personable. We had a few transitions between songs that were pretty specific for certain entrances and dances, and he nailed all of them (I have always had NIGHTMARES of my DJ playing the wrong song at an important moment lol). A few of our friends even said they wanted to hire him for their weddings! I won't lie - Joey even made it to our after party and was SUPER fun to hangout with!
