Update- After posting my initial review Joey did reach out via text and said he would call us to discussed our experience. He never did. 1 year after our wedding- Joey included me in a group email along with 18 other folks asking for more time to fulfill the duties we all paid for as he was going through a divorce. A GROUP EMAIL??!? other couples have reached out to me to share their horrible experience as well and wanted to look into some formal action as there were so many of us. Now 1.5 years since my wedding, $7K out and still no USB of my photos. Save yourself the money and heartache and look for someone else who care about you not their own profits. To Joey- I will continue to post and share my story until I get what I paid for.

Photos was my 1 splurge for the wedding. It was $7,000 mistake. Joey's photos online and his charismatic & charming personality sold me; however, after booking, I realized he was just a great salesperson. I live in CA so my few trips to Houston were crucial for wedding planning. He was unresponsive when trying to schedule our engagement shoot despite multiple emails, phone messages and texts. I finally gave up and knew in my heart I no longer wanted to work with him. On our wedding day, all our vendors arrived early & were ready on time. Joey didn't show until 10 mins past agreed time & then set up which wasted an hr. I was disappointed since I rearranged the day to accommodate her. It was very rushed w/ him & he didn't even get all my BMs photographed. His 2ndshooter was great & got many shots of all the GMs! Joey had assured me he has shot at my venue before & knew where to go. However, on my wedding day Joey led us outside to the same busy galleria streets 3x for photos- finally I suggested we try the pool area which had beautiful lighting & greenery. After entering the space I could tell he has never seen it. He also asked me to remind him several times to get photos of my BMs-not sure why it was my job to remind him. Later, when I showed up for our 20 mins Chinese gown shoot, Joey he turned me down saying he had enough shots. While changing out of my Chinese dress, the hotel staff & my planner approached saying Joey had refused to continue taking photos until he ate which I later realized is why he turned down that mini photo session. I had purchased the same filet mignon/truffled mash potatoes for my vendors so I told the hotel staff to give him his dish early since they were prepping the dinners for my guests. They told me they couldn't until all the guest were fed to make sure they didn't run out. my photographer went on strike during my wedding! I had the mgr call the chef who I spoke to personally and asked him to give Joey my food instead. By that time it was too late so my planner ended up giving him her take out. Fast fwd- I did not think the photos resembled anything of the caliber of skill and talent he showcased to us. He failed to capture the beautiful ambiance of the decor as alot of the photos were overexposed. We only had a few full wedding party photos and in some of them the shortest Gm was hidden and unseen. The biggest regret- there wasnt a single photo of just me in my wedding gown and bouquet that I could keep as a bridal portrait nor was there a single photo of just my parents or my in-laws. During planning, we filled out many questionnaires on the important people in our wedding and discussed this. There was an hour where we were greeting tables with only the 2nd shooter. There is no excuse as to why Joey he couldn't have taken photos of my guest or family then. There is actually a photo where Joey was in the background walking without his camera during this hour. We reached out to Joey asking why these crucial photos were missing- his response was he only takes the photos of what is presented to him. He wasn't apologetic nor did he really care these were photos of my once in a lifetime wedding. its about 1.5 yrs since my wedding and I still don't have the USB of my photos I paid for. The thing that haunts me the most is during our initial visit Joey proudly told us multiple times that photography was a business decision at first & the art came later. I knew it was a red flag but ignored. Big mistake!

We could not have asked for a better photographer than Joey! He has a gift and is an artist with the photos he takes. From engagements, Bridals to our wedding day he knocked all of these photos out of the park. The pictures he took for us are immeasurable gifts! We received our wedding pictures back in a very timely manner, and both my husband and I had tears in our eyes when we viewed them. He did an amazing job capturing every moment from our wedding that we have the unique gift of reliving our wedding day through these photos. Looking at them has helped make the day less of a blur and has helped us have more clear and wonderful memories of each moment. He also did a wonderful job of getting to know my husband and I and our relationship. This made his pictures so personal to us. He captured our love and personalities so well. I could not be happier with his work, professionalism and responsiveness! My whole family, in laws and husband all agree he did an amazing job and we could not have found a better photographer. I highly recommend booking Joey T to be your wedding photographer!

Joey is a highly talented photographer who provided us with an incredible array of beautiful photos. He caught shots that we never would have thought of while also working with us our vision and taking photos that were important to us. Joey worked with our numerous circumstances (wanting to take photos in NYC, including our dogs, etc.) and had a very talented team to help him cover our wedding. He also did a great job guiding us and our wedding party during our photos so that we were posed properly and looked our best in the photos. I highly recommend him for beautiful photographs of your special day.

I am the groom for the below review written on 12/10/16. First, I cannot say enough about the quality of Joey's work. He did his best to not only capture our big day, but he was able to put a slide show together for the reception that brought tears to my eyes. We had a very large wedding party which was a lot to work with, but he really exceeded my expectations with the overall quality of the final product. He and his team were not only nice and helpful to work with, but very professional throughout the entire process. They are definitely thorough with instructions to make sure that the presentation is what you would expect when you see the shots. Joey and his team are the ones to trust. Our wedding was very large and seemed overwhelming, but he did a great job. There was even a shot or two that was missed, but he and his team were able to create it for us for free. Professional throughout the entire job, even with things out of his control. I would definitely recommend him to others. Joey is about to shoot our son's first birthday and cake smash. I also hope to use him in the years to come.

We hired Joey T Photography after meeting with a wedding planner that shared an office with him. Joey showed me pictures of his work and I was very interested. We originally hired him for the main reason that he had shot in our venue, but we ended up changing venues but still felt confident that Joey would wonderfully capture our day. Joey did my bridals which came out wonderful. I really love them, except I wanted shots in my Saints jersey and he took most of them from the waist up so it just looks like I'm wearing a Saints jersey and a veil. I brought this up to him after I got all my prints back. Since I myself am a wedding coordinator I know how weddings run, flow and things can change any minute. I printed up a shot list for Joey and his team as well as my coordinator. On the day of the wedding things went well for the most part. However, after receiving our pictures we were very disappointed. Being in the wedding industry I have worked with dozens of photographers and seen hundred of pictures from my clients weddings. I have worked with low budget amateur photographers and very experienced higher end photographers. We paid over $7k for Joey and his teams services. I honestly feel so disappointed in the final product and the lack of pictures that we received that we like. After looking through our shot list that we gave him we had barely gotten half of our list of important pictures. We didn't even get pictures of our new family (my husband, myself and our two daughters) and Joey had to go through other pics and edit them to give us one of all 4 of us. VERY disappointing since that was obviously a huge and extremely important picture. I was disappointed in several shots such as us being introduced into the reception (the wedding party being introduced in had great shots then ours weren't good) and our first dance shots. When we met with Joey to receive our album I brought a list of things that I feel did not go well on his end and expressed my disappointment since this was one of the biggest days of our life and we made such a large financial investment in him and his team. He admitted some missing shots were lack of communication between him and the other shooters (we had Ben & Jerrys bring in our favorite ice cream since that is how Keith proposed to me and he was working on our video slide show so the other shooter was supposed to cover it but didn't) and we only got 2 pictures of us serving the ice cream and they weren't great pictures. Also we only have ONE shot of our wedding rings. All the photographers I have worked with have taken multiple shots of the rings by the bouquet, the cake or other places to give the couple a variety. I felt as though Joey made a lot of excuses, but he did apologize and offer to do a family session or something for us. He kept saying he has never had a bride make a list like I did because it can be overwhelming. I emailed him the list weeks before the wedding so he could look over it and he never mentioned to me that the list was a problem for him and his team. He assured me this has NEVER happened before and he has not had an unhappy couple like we were. We chose not to take him up on that offer of a family session because I was so upset about our wedding pictures. When I look back at our pics I feel disappointed and sad. I wish we would have had a better experience and had our important pictures from our big day. There is no going back and redoing that day.

Joey and his team are amazing! I quite literally stumbled into his office on accident and am so happy to have done so. Joey takes his work very seriously in order to deliver the best photos and overall experience, not to mention the rest of his staff are wonderful too! At our engagement photos, Joey and his team made the experience fun and lighthearted. At our wedding, you hardly knew there was a photography team and yet we had such a great variety of photos from the evening it was hard to choose our favorites.

Being a photographer myself and knowing the exact style I wanted, it took me the longest time to find a photographer for my wedding and engagement pictures. When I cam across Joey's website, I was immediately intrigued and loved the way he used light and how effortlessly it appeared to capture others couple's moments. He was also the only photographer who would follow up with me and invited us to his studio to meet. His studio was amazing, how it showcased some of his work. But his warm and caring personality was what did it for me! Not only did he take amazing photographs, but I could tell that he truly cared and that to me goes a long way. He's passionate about his work and he is talented at capturing each individual's personality through photos. I would recommend Joey and his team a million times over! Our wedding day turned out perfect, and the slideshow he put on during the reception still has everybody asking me who he was and when we'll get our wedding photos! Thank again, Joey T Photography! I can't tell you how thankful I am to have had Joey capture the special moments from my wedding! I immediately fell in love with his work from his website and portfolio. He has this beautiful way of capturing pictures that carry so much emotion and detail. He was such a pleasure to work with, too! He knew how to make the photo shoot easier with comedic relief and he would quietly sneak in those beautiful candid shots. After spending just a few moments with him, you can easily tell his love for weddings and capturing them to be your everlasting memories.

Joey was referred to us by a very good friend so we trusted his opinion. We contacted Joey to photograph our 30th Wedding Anniversary Gala. We were very impressed with Joey from the first meeting we had with him. He and his team are very professional and their work is outstanding! He arrived at our event early to set up and Joey and his team took pictures of little details that really highlighted our gala in such a special way. Joey and his team were such an important part of our event, they captured our memories in such a creative and amazing way. Joey T and his team didn't miss anything. We actually had fun taking pictures before our event. During our gala, Joey and his team were everywhere but you didn't see them. They have the talent of capturing all the memories but not interrupting the fun. In fact, we will use Joey T every time we need a professional photographer. His work is outstanding and very creative!!!

Working with Joey and his team was one of the biggest blessing and absolute privilege for our wedding. My review is going to be long and detailed because if anyone is considering working with Joey, I want you to know exactly how well-taken care of you will be with this team, and how immensely satisfied you will be with your wedding pictures. I first had inquired about Joey through my wedding planner after seeing his work - it was absolutely breathtaking, rare, and unique. My wedding was the day after Christmas, and Joey was booked solid through december. I reached out to Joey and I told him how much I adored his work and if he could just find a way to photograph my wedding I would be the happiest bride ever. I don’t know how Joey did it, but his team carved out after Christmas to drive out of Houston to photograph my wedding! From that moment onwards, working with Joey was an incredible artistic experience. Joey works with his clients to understand the couple’s artistic vision. My wedding was a South-Asian rustic wedding in a carriage house, so I had a very detailed and specific vision. I wanted my culture highlighted juxtaposed with my Texan upbringing. Joey gave me exactly this as well as his creative vision. He even worked with my parents to achieve what they wanted; we felt we were working with someone who valued the insight of not only the bride and groom, but also their family. They are not only experts in their field, but also genuine, kind-hearted people who truly care about your day. One thing that stood out to me was how accommodating Joey and his team were. I was in graduate school in a different state and was unable to come in and do my engagement photos beforehand (which were in my package). I only had time ten months after my wedding to do this session. Joey and his team worked with my schedule and booked my date without any hassle. In the wedding industry, I have found that once people are done with your wedding and put your pictures in their journal online, they really don’t care much about client-satisfaction -- they move on to the next couple they can work with, leaving a lot of loose ends untied. I was grateful that Joey and his team didn’t write me off and put my session on the back-burner because they had finished photographing my wedding. Joey assured me that our photo session was definitely very important to him and his team. I am about to get my photo session done soon, and very excited! Joey and his team are a BLAST to work with. I get extremely uncomfortable in posed photographs, but Joey guided me with every single placement, where to look, how to smile, and it was one of the most fun and comfortable photo sessions I’ve ever done. Joey also effortlessly coordinated my 40 family members for family pictures. Lastly, Joey and his team set up a slideshow at our wedding of some of the pictures they took *DURING* the wedding - within a couple hours, they had edited, set-up a slideshow, and gathered everyone around to watch the wedding recap. Everyone one of my guests loved it as they saw artsy pictures and action shots of themselves appear on the screen from the night. My husband and I couldn’t be happier with the beautiful wedding pictures we have now. Much love to the Joey T Photography Team!

If I had to choose one word to describe Joey it would be professional. The ultimate professional in an industry where you want nothing but the best for your big day. Joey delivered at every turn, from capturing our actual engagement, to our engagement pictures, and finally to our wedding week, where in true Indian/Pakistani fashion we had a number of events including our sangeet, rehearsal dinner, and our wedding day. He is able to capture amazing images in all these environments, which is something that drew me to his work. There are a lot of photographers who cater to the South Asian community, but Joey is so much more than that. I chose him because I knew he would be able understand our culture and the various important moments we would want to see later. Joey made every part of the process that could otherwise be stressful easy - from choosing our wedding album, to deciding how many hours we would need him and his team, to viewing those GREAT images at his studio (which included wine and cheese and lots of laughs!). We also went with JoeyT Photography for video, which made the experience that much easier and less stressful for a very stressed bride! You want someone who will make you feel comfortable, and who will be honest at every turn. You share a lot of your wedding day with your photographer and we were so happy to share our day with Joey. And last but not least, the amazing, priceless images. I looked at a lot of photographer's pictures before deciding to book Joey, but ultimately I knew his style matched ours. I could not be happier with the moments Joey captured, and the quality of the pictures. I recommend Joey to all my friends getting married, and hope that in a few years time he can take some family pictures for me, if he's not too busy making memories for other new couples.

Absolutely stunning work by Joey, for both our engagement and wedding photos. He was the first vendor I booked, a full two years before actually getting married! I saw his work and immediately knew he was "the one", and it was well worth it. I have had so many people compliment the photos just from seeing the "day of" slideshow! Not only are his pictures amazing, but he's easy to work with, and get along with, which is a very important characteristic to have with the person who's going to photograph one of the biggest days of your life! Joey truly has a gift, and I will love seeing the photos he took on our walls!

I met Joey and was instantly impressed with his knowledge, expertise, and attention to detail. This is exactly what every bride needs in a photographer. Joey is professional and fun while making sure he gets just the right shots of your perfect day. Joey worked with my fiancé and I on pricing to fit our budget and was very open and honest about lighting and how that played in to get the perfect shots of what we wanted. This guys knows what he is doing and after seeing my wedding day pictures, I think he is the absolute best in the business. Joey not only exceeded expectations all around but the day I saw my wedding photos, and each time I look at them, I am able to relive my dream day all over again. Soo…I met Joey on Feb. 2012 at a wedding show in The Woodlands an entire 1 ½ year before my husband and I actually got engaged (July 8, 2013). I was immediately impressed with his work. I’ve never seen wedding pictures like his before and I’ve seen and been to a lot of weddings. After we got engaged, we met up with a bunch of different photographers, but I always found myself comparing them to Joey’s work. My husband (then boyfriend) finally said to just book Joey because I will never be happy unless it was Joey capturing our day. Lucky for us, Joey just happens to be at this one wedding show we attended. As soon as the doors opened, I immediately walked up to him and said he was going to be our photographer for our wedding day and the rest is history. Fast forward to our wedding day of January 3, 2015, Joey and his team were on time and immediately got to work. My friends and family were impressed how nice, down to earth and professional the entire photography team was. They loved how Joey and the team were laid back and got down with us. Joey knew how important these pictures were to us…and they were awesome b/c we were able to view some of them before our wedding day was over. Yes, Joey is the only photographer I know (after meeting quite a few in the Houston area) that does a Same Day Highlight Feature at your reception. We immediately got comments from our guests how amazing the pictures look. He was one of the best decisions we made to capture our wedding day. My husband and I absolutely enjoyed working with Joey and his team. He is so much fun, so personable, talented, creative and very passionate about his work. You won’t regret this decision at all!

Joey and his team were amazing to work with. Everything from the engagement photo shoot to the various photo sessions throughout the wedding weekend went so smoothly. All the pictures turned out so well and were beautifully taken. He was able to capture every special moment in our events flawlessly. Not only was he able to take amazing poses of us, there are many pictures that he took that capture the emotions of the situation well with our family and friends. You can really tell that he is able to tell a story through the pictures. He definitely is not just a point and shoot photographer. Not only are his pictures amazing, Joey as a person is an amazing photographer to work with too. He is very charismatic and really works well with friends and family during the events. We had a large Indian wedding, and he made everyone feel comfortable while getting the perfect shots. You can tell that nothing was forced or unnatural. We can recall multiple family members and friends coming to us with high praises of Joey. We could not be happier with Joey T, and choosing him was the best decision we made. Amazing pictures, easy to work with, no problems. We definitely recommend his company to everyone.

Joey and his team were there through the whole wedding. I am a larger bride and thought I would hate all the shots he took of me. I was resigned to having a beautiful album full of shots that reminded me of my weight. He didn't do that. The photos he took of me made me feel beautiful and helped me remember that I was a stunning bride as well as captured the memory of the evening. I would highly recommend him.

My husband and I first contacted Joey T in Aug 2014. He responded immediately and scheduled to meet us for a consulation that same week. We were so impressed with the quality of his photos and wedding albums and his professionalism that we decided to use Joey T Photography for our engagement and wedding photos. The week of our engagement session the location my husband and I chose wasn't able to accommodate us and we were disappointed, but in hindsight it was a blessing. We left the engagement location up to Joey T and not only was the session laid back and fun, but in those couple hours he was able to capture so many beautiful moments while walking around downtown and improvising! Our wedding day was in May 2015, and there was a high possibility of rain (and it sure did). We had decided to prepare for it and Joey was energetic and positive while taking photos of our first look and our bridal party in our rainboots and clear umbrellas pre-ceremony. We also decided to add the same day slide show, so during the reception while our guests were dancing Joey's team quietly set it up and we surprised them those photos. Everyone stopped dancing and enjoyed seeing and sharing all those beautiful moments of our wedding day. Our guests absolutely loved it. Joey T is extremely passionate about his work and beyond that he was such a fun, friendly, and warm presence. Reminding us along the way to have fun and to enjoy each other during this process. We cannot say enough about our experience with Joey T and his incredible team!

My heart sings when I look at my daughter's wedding pictures!! The joy, the love, the emotion, are all there. I love the way Joey and his team were able to "Tell the Story" of this Special Day. There are no chances for a "Do Over" in the world of Wedding Photography. At the end of the day, the photographs are the way we remember all those little details and quiet moments. They enable the Bride and Groom to experience the day again and again, and see how beautiful it was. I am so happy that my daughter chose Joey T. to tell her story. And more importantly, so is she!

I love Joey and his team!!! I can easily say that this was without a doubt the best decision we made for our wedding! The "big" day goes by so quickly and as the bride and groom you don't get to see what your guest see. The details, all the research and decisions that go into this special. Joey is extremely talented and creative! His use of natural light amazed me, the angles and ideas he came up with turned out gorgeous! He was always prompt and returned calls, text and emails in a timely manner. Joey is very easy to communicate with! He loves his work and it's obvious! Thank you JT and Team!!!

I absolutely love how Joey and his team are so attentive to detail. I am truly blown away by their work! My wedding and engagement pictures came out amazing and not to mention the 5 minute clip at the end of my wedding day was incredible!!! I am beyond grateful that I chose Joey and his team to capture my once in a lifetime moment! I can truly say it was all worth the cost and would recommend him to anyone! We decided not to use Joey as it took way to long for him to produce the contract and as the day for our wedding grew closer we were scared that we wouldn't have a photographer at all. So we went with our back up plan. He has learned from this and is implementing improvements to prevent this in the future which is great. It just wasn't in time for our wedding though. Other than that he was great. He provided excellent service, his photos are quality, his team is family friendly and he is a little flexible with some things. We will be doing a photo shoot soon with him and will let you know how that goes. For the first event he might have not have been used but that didn't scare us away from using him in the future.

Joey you were the best decision I made for the wedding thank you so much you are an awesome awesome photographer and this is one decision I will never regret! To me pictures are the only memory and it meant a lot to me to have the perfect pictures which you made possible!!! I love the engagement shoot as well & ppl could not stop talking about the same day edits, the guest book and most of all your creativity! Thank you! I'm your fan!! Now your doing any Photoshoot I ever have!!!

We used Joey for our engagement pictures and they turned out superb! For the photo shoot, Joey and his team were on time and ready to take our pictures. I believe we were able to view a sample of our photos within a couple of days and the rest within a couple of weeks. The quality of portraits was incredible. We got so many compliments from all of our family & friends! Joey was patient to not rush us through those moments of each part of our session. All of our pictures came out very natural, and nothing too 'posey'. My husband had never taken professional pictures and he was so frightened on how he was going to turn out but by the end of the day, he became a natural because Joey made us feel very comfortable. Some of our favorite photos were the spontaneous ones Joey had us do! :) I would definitely recommend Joey T Photography to that bride looking for a professional, experienced photographer to capture her special day! :)

I recently planned our wedding in less than 20 days and I am extremely pleased that I was able to have Clark capture our wedding day! Not only is he an amazing photographer but he is an amazing person. He was more than just a photographer! His years of experience & patience helped me with my wedding day. I love how he captured priceless moments that I didn't even think of. My family, bridal party, & friends are still asking about him after the wedding because he left a great impression on us. It was like he was a part of the family. I loved the way he took interest in getting to know everyone at the wedding especially the bridal party. He remembered everyones name and that was very impressive to everyone .Also, he is very prompt with responses and delivering photos. Joey Thomas is one of the most talented, creative and personable people I have ever met. His work is exceptional. I recently got married and he made the guestbook album for the wedding. I still flip through it all the time because it captured all of the love my husband and I both felt for one another while at the same time being caught in a frame of true art. Joey makes you laugh and makes you feel extremely comfortable. Brides: he also has amazing tips to make you look like a model!! What else can I say, Joey does amazing work and he is an equally amazing person.
