John and his assistant were exceptional! John is a master at his craft and takes his job very seriously. He is always professional and very communicative but is also extremely down to earth and fun! His vision and creativity is unmatched and makes for absolutely stunning photos. I waited about 3 months for my photos which felt like a lifetime, but wound up being so worth it! John obviously puts so much time and attention into each job so I truly appreciate the quality of my album. You simply will not find a more talented photographer at this price point. Not only do I have beautiful photos to cherish forever, but the black and white photo setup at the reception was a huge hit and also produced high quality photos (as opposed to the cheesier photo booths). I really can’t say enough good things, highly highly highly recommend!

I can’t say enough good things about John! From our first meeting, I knew he was the perfect fit for my husband and me. He’s blunt and to the point but still welcoming and fun. With his years of experience, he had clear vision for what needed to be done and when. He even helped us put together a photo schedule leading up to the wedding. On the big day, our family portraits were done quickly and smoothly, and the bridal party shots were a blast! The portraits of my husband and me felt so intimate and really captured our love. We ran ahead of schedule with all of our photos and we only used between 10-15 minutes of cocktail hour time to capture a few extra couple portraits. Our guests loved the black-and-white portrait booth. John set up a QR code for them to easily access the gallery, which was super helpful for us! I can’t recommend John enough—he and his team were absolutely amazing!

In preparation for our wedding, we met with several photographers. John Barone stood out with his professionalism, creativity and holistic approach. John was very well organized and provided us the key wedding logistics including a detailed wedding schedule with built-in flexibility to account for any issues or timing changes. John and Denida (the 2nd photographer - who was awesome) were very professional (with a great sense of humor) and made taking the pictures fun. They provided their input and creativity but allowed us to tell them the type of photos we wanted and accommodated our needs. I’d highly recommend John and Denida.

John is the best. He's super organized, really responsive, and takes absolutely incredible photos. He's also just a straight up cool guy and easy to work with. He kept us on time and really took control of all of the day-of logistics and timing, which was amazing. And we are SO SO happy with our pictures. They're absolutely stunning. Lots of unique photos too (not just the standard wedding photos - but of course he includes them too) that are literally pieces of art. I cannot recommend him highly enough!!! We/I had 3 shoots with them -- engagement shoot, boudoir, and wedding -- and all of them were incredible experiences with incredible photos.

Like most brides to be, I was nervous about choosing a photographer with so many options to choose from. I am SO happy we went with John Barone. Our engagement photos came out so amazing and now we are so excited for our photos on the big day. He was super professional, responsive, down to earth, and make us comfortable. My Dad is very hard to please and could not stop raving about how professional & skilled John was even before getting the photos back. Him & his wife are wonderful people and it was such a pleasure having them both at my wedding. Photography was one of my top priorities when wedding planning and I knew I didn’t want the “resort photographer.” I am so happy John & his wife were willing to travel with all his gear to capture my special day abroad! We chose John as our wedding photographer because we felt his photos had life and charm – they weren’t just the standard set of photographs but we felt he captured what was unique about each couple and story. Planning was easy, John has this down to a science! Day of, John and his team were timely and professional. We barely noticed them during the event, but they were there capturing all of the key moments. His photo booth setup at the end of the evening was a great hit, and really added a fun aspect to the venue. John and his team were amazing to work with. What we really didn’t know going into our wedding was proper time management for the entire day. John made sure to take the time well in advance to spell this out for us and guide us! Even though our priest was late to the mass John and his team made sure we didn’t miss a beat. From the start, we knew John was the right fit for us. Not only did he put us at ease with his chill, no pressure, no frills personality, but he really helped us get a handle on the outline for our whole day. As a previous wedding planner myself, I still relied heavily on his experience and advice to come up with a sensible timeline for my unique wedding day situation (which he was spot on mapping out to the minute). On the Day of, we were BLESSED to have his trusted accomplice, Stuart, taking all the shots! With the most gentle demeanor you could imagine, I don’t think this awkward unphotogenic bride could have been as comfortable as I was with Stuart. He was a real hero for me and was so unimposing throughout the day, blending seamlessly with the guests, going with the flow, just doing his thing. We were blown (FAR) away by the final outcome of our pics… the caliber of this photography is another level. It’s truly unbelievable how both John and Stuart’s talents really came together - from the execution of one to the editing of another - we feel so lucky we even got a chance to work with these incredible and genuine dudes!

John's photography work (both the shooters & editing) is definitely among the best in the region. We interviewed probably a dozen or more photographers, and we're extremely happy with the photos we received back from him. We have very, very high standards for wedding photos and we were nervous we wouldn't be able to hit that with our wedding budget. Thankfully John and his team delivered and even went above and beyond in working and planning with us to capture some truly incredible memories. Don't skimp out on the photos!

John and his team were a delight to work with and well worth the investment. We first met John when he was the photographer for a friend's wedding and were impressed with the quality of his work. We hired him for our wedding and did not regret our decision for a second. Prior to the wedding, John worked with us to devise a schedule that fit our rather unique needs. He even went to the reception venue itself to meet with the staff and view the space for himself as well as scope out the neighborhood to determine good locations for outdoor photos. On the day of the wedding, John and his team were punctual and professional. Throughout the day, we felt relaxed and were able to be ourselves. At no point did we feel like we had to stop what we were doing to pose for a shot. The B&W set at the reception was a hit!

I immediately considered John Barone for my November 2023 wedding - remembering the beautiful photos he shared from my brothers December 2017 wedding. John was quick to respond when I reached out to him, extremely professional, and very personable! He made us feel comfortable, not only on the day of our wedding, but the days leading up to him making sure everything was coordinated with the venue/coordinator. Jonh is an amazing photographer. He photographed my engagement party, wedding, baby shower, and maternity shoot. His artistic ability it unmatched. He is extremely professional and made me feel extremely comfortable during my boudoir/maternity shoot. The pictures came out stunning. John did a fantastic job photographing our wedding. He has an artistic eye and made us feel very comfortable during the lead up to and on the day of the wedding. He is creative and captured the day like a story with a narrative. The black and white booth was a big hit, and our guests loved it. John is very easygoing, responds quickly, is extremely organized, knew our area well (Center City, with where the sun and shadows would be), and provided an impressive website for the photo gallery. We also got a fancy looking USB drive for our photos so they are stored locally. We highly recommend him.

I cannot recommend John enough; we knew we were going to be in good hands based on our initial intro conversation with John and we were blown away by our pictures. My husband and I also got engagement photos done with John. He is professional, unbelievably talented and was an all-around amazing person to have on our wedding day. He was extremely organized and new exactly what needed to get done on the day. He was a huge help in making sure the timeline made sense, completely owned the logistics and made sure we got all of the shots (on the most popular wedding day in 2022, while at one of the most popular spots in Philadelphia for wedding photos). The pictures are absolutely stunning. The B&W pictures are so cool and our guests have loved them, they are very unique. He worked with our venue to make sure we could have the B&W set in a less than ideal set-up for him. Don't hesitate to book John, I can't say enough great things about him. One of the groomsmen and his fiancé was so impressed the day-of that they booked him for their own wedding!

John was the best photographer we could have asked for! He really took the time to get to know us and make sure he would provide us with photography we loved. He did a great job staging the photos and they all came out stunning! He was super efficient with the timing of various group shots, getting them all done before the ceremony so that we were not stuck spending half of our wedding posing for photos. I also love that John does a black and white fashion shoot rather than a photo booth, it was very classy and the pictures that came out of it frameworthy. I knew I wanted John to capture my wedding day long before I was even engaged. From day one John was easy to talk to, honest, patient, kind, and knowledgeable. His communication was timely and no matter how many emails with questions I sent John was prompt and informative with suggestions. On wedding day he was so friendly with my family and friends it gave me a sense of comfort. I trusted his process throughout the day and he maintained the timeline and was flexible with any changes (rainy day). The cherry on top are my photos. They are absolutely amazing! Do yourself a favor and book with John!!! My husband and I could not be happier that we chose John to photograph our wedding after initially talking to several photographers. From day one John was upfront and transparent about his end to end process: day of expectations, timelines, editing techniques, his style, etc. Leading up to our wedding John was extremely easy and quick to communicate with, always sending reminders and answering any questions/concerns almost immediately and at length to ensure we had a clear understanding. He is so down to earth, organized, and very reachable :) On our wedding day John expertly captured the intimacy, love, playfulness, and raw emotion of the day. He had a clear plan of action, especially with group shots and creatively worked with the sunlight to incorporate beautiful natural lighting in our photos. It is impossible to even choose favorites! John’s professionalism and industry experience clearly shone through on our day. He made everyone feel comfortable and helped make the day so lighthearted and fun. For each part of the day he explained his thought process, what he was going to capture, and the timing. He kept the photos moving without rushing it and showed us some quick preview shots on his camera throughout the day. There was no sense of awkward camera shyness as John cooly puts you at ease. He will do anything to get ‘the shot’. We truly did not have to worry about anything photo-wise. John’s crew is also wonderful to work with! Zero stress/worries at all. John’s editing is timeless and classic - we know these photos will be just as beautiful 30 years down the road. He is not someone who slaps a filter or trendy editing on pictures. It is clear he is a seasoned vet and absolute rockstar. The guests also loved the black and white photo set he provides with his package. I cannot recommend John enough - get on his schedule ASAP as he fills up fast and you will not be disappointed!!!!

My husband and I got married in November ‘22 and we knew we wanted our photos to be high quality, professional, and timeless. We decided to go with John Barone after experiencing his work at my sisters wedding as well the year before. John exceeded our expectations ten fold, and our photo gallery from our wedding is spectacular!!! Along the way, John was communicative, knowledgeable, and really made us feel like family! :) He had great advice, especially we decided to go with his suggestion of a first look, due to light concerns, and it was the best decision we made! John and his staff were organized the day of, and also came prepared with ideas for shot locations around the venue. The whole day was perfect!! The photos afterwards were magical, and can only be described as perfection! Some even looked like paintings, which my husband and I loved! We worked with John for years leading up to our wedding, literally years. Through all of our wedding postponements and delays, John always went above and beyond to be accommodating and had an abundance of patience. When our wedding day finally arrived, we were a little overwhelmed not knowing how the whole “day of” process works. As someone who is design-minded and also enjoys photography, hiring a really good wedding photographer was high on my list of priorities. We could not have made a wiser decision than hiring John and his team to be with us on the big day. John is incredibly organized and knows how to operationalize to make sure the day goes smoothly. He is an incredible communicator - clear and straightforward - which we appreciated. Trust this man. His business sense and his work are superior. We were awestruck by how amazing the photos turned out. He was able to capture the day perfectly. As a HUGE bonus, our wedding guests LOVED the B&W portrait studio John offered. Prep: John came highly recommended and we were very impressed by his previous work. John met with us for an intro and discussed our plans. He provided valuable insight on the timeline of our day. We expected rain on our wedding day and John had excellent ideas to accept and embrace the rain in style. He followed up with us several times prior to the wedding day and was available to answer any questions via email and phone/text. First Look, Wedding Party/Family Photos, and Ceremony: John arrived at the venue promptly and prepared. He had creative ideas for the First Look and Wedding Party/FamilyPhotos. When our photos arrived, we were stunned by the outcome! He took the director role and was able to manage our crowd to follow his lead and the timeline in a professional and fun manner. We had a great, memorable time with our photos! As for the ceremony, we didn’t even notice John and Anthony as we were focused on our vows; however, they were able to capture the moment beautifully! Reception: The black and white photos came out so good! My only regret is not convincing all my guests to partake in the black and white photos. They were so much fun to review! My guests loved the photos and I have received many compliments on this addition. The additional photos of the night were also spectacular. I highly recommend booking John Barone Photography for your event!

We worked with Jon for both our engagement and wedding day photos. He was an absolute joy to work with. My wife and I are normally awkward in photos, but Jon helped us feel comfortable in front of the camera. Everyone from my mother to my friends noticed how much Jon helped bring out our personalities in the photos. He knows all the best secret spots to shoot in the city and we could not be happier. Jon also made sure to organize our schedule with our glam team and wedding venue to make sure we never felt rushed on the big day. We cannot recommend him enough.

This past weekend my fiancé and I had the wonderful opportunity to work with John for our engagement shoot. I could not imagine a better way to kick off our wedding festivities! I have had the pleasure of being a bridesmaid in a few weddings his team had previously shot and when it came to choosing our photographer I knew it had to be him! After this weekend I am certain I made the right choice. My fiancé and I were a nervous wreck the weeks ahead planning our outfits and feeling insecure about how we would looked. John eased every nerve and made us feel so comfortable in the process. We no longer worried about our insecurities and truly got to enjoy the day and each other. My advice to any bride will be pick your date, find your venue and call John Barone Photography you will not be disappointed!

This review is well overdue! My husband and I met John in 2019. It was the best decision and investment we have made regarding documenting our love story. John took our engagement, elopement (thank you COVID...), ceremony, AND maternity pictures. Clearly, we love his work and his personality. If our son was not born smack dab in the middle of wedding season, we would probably have hired him for newborn pictures. John's skill level and creativity are unmatched. His pictures are not only beautiful but also unique. He will go out of his way to get that 'perfect' shot. If you're feeling adventurous and willing to try new things to get unique pictures (e.g. walking into the ocean, lying in a field), he's your guy. He will put you at ease and allow you to have fun and just enjoy the moment. John is extremely understanding and flexible. He is easy to reach in case of questions or concerns. He truly feels like a friend which is hard to come by in today's world. We could not have asked for a better person to work with through this pandemic. If you're questioning whether John is worth the investment for your wedding. 100% YES over and over again. It is something you will never regret.

We used John for both our wedding and engagement shoot and for both he was the most fun, friendly, professional, creative, and calming person. We told him before each event what we wanted and the vibe we wanted to give off and he went with it and surpassed our expectations. When I (the bride) was freaking out or scared he was making jokes and talking me down. He made our whole bridal party laugh and we just had the best time with him. He was so conversational and personable during our engagement session, it really helped us to feel at ease in front of the camera. The shots he helped us pick were both stunning and very personally meaningful to us as a couple. I think one of the biggest testaments to his work came when I showed our photos to a friend who is getting married half-way across the country, and she asked “do you think he’d fly all the way to Missouri for my wedding??” John is one of the best decisions we’ve made thus far, and I can’t wait to work with him again for the wedding in May!

John is a true professional with an artist's eye. My fiance and I were nervous about interviewing photographers but John made us comfortable from the Zoom call to the actual shoots. His recommendations were great and the photos were out of this world. Couldn't recommend more.

My fiancé and I got engaged during the height of pandemic so meeting with wedding vendors in person wasn’t really any option. We started out by reading reviews and then looking at portfolios. The moment we looked at John’s work we could tell it was different. After talking with him, learning more about his background, and what he offered (and how unique some of it was…hello black&white session) we knew he was the one - without even meeting him in person. Fast forward a couple months to our engagement shoot, and we were very nervous going into it. We’re not picture people and John made us feel comfortable immediately. The whole shoot was a blast and it gave us a great chance to get to know John before the big day. Most importantly the pictures are amazing. We don’t look posed, it doesn’t look forced, it just looks like us! As a result, on more than one occasion people have told us they’re the best engagement photos they’ve ever seen or that they typically don’t like engagement pictures and they love ours. If you have the opportunity to work with John, do it! We’re so pleased with our engagement pictures and can’t wait to see what he’ll do at the wedding.

Boy am I glad I came across John when I first started wedding planning! We had to switch our dates 3 times due to COVID and John was so responsive and flexible and worked with us to figure everything out! We ended up having something smaller than originally planned and John was so helpful in planning it all out. He also treats you like a friend vs just another client. He really makes it very personal. I felt like I've known him for years! When we got our photos back from him we were blown away. They are so amazing and we have gotten so many compliments on them. I couldn't recommend John more!

My husband and I can’t recommend John highly enough. We started talking with him about our wedding day and our vision back before COVID, and he stuck with us through not one, not two, but THREE wedding dates! His professionalism and organization are unmatched, and it definitely put our mind at ease to know that he had everything under control. With years and years of wedding photography under his belt, he was a great resource for figuring out the timeline of our day too. He and his second shooter, Stuart, made our photos so fun and creative; no one else will have photos like ours. John was so great. He captures amazing images, and makes them super unique and artsy, but in no way over the top. My husband and I are not the most comfortable in front of the camera, but John made us feel super comfortable and we were able to relax. We used John for engagement + wedding and I could not recommend him more. The bonus is the black and white shoot at the wedding for guests (instead of a photo booth) - the photos are so elegant and the guests loved this.

John & his team were absolutely phenomenal. From our first interaction with him through getting our pictures delivered he was super responsive and helpful. He left no detail unturned in our photo journey and was able to roll with anything we threw at him to work it into the timeline. We added the Black & White photoset to our package and it did not disappoint. One photo is better than the next and we would tell you to run, not walk to book John for your wedding.
