No matter what I throw at her, she gets it done. She's a fantastic photographer and has earned enough trust from me that she now leads our 2nd associate team.

I've always said that talent has to be supplemented with personality to earn trust and get great photos. Michel has both in excess.

He wanted to soak up as much as he could to hopefully start his own company. In 2025 Steph officially joined the team as a paid 2nd shooter. But he still comes out for free as 3rd shooter as often as he can because he sees it as free education. This dude is going places.

The Best Decision We Made for Our Wedding – John Barone Photography
I was hesitant to book anyone for our wedding photography at first — it wasn’t personal, I just felt unsure and...
overwhelmed by the whole process. But John Barone completely changed that. He followed up thoughtfully over email and offered to set up a call. From the moment we started talking, I felt like I was catching up with an old friend. He was clearly the most capable person I had spoken to, and by the end of the call, I was completely sold on him and his team.
I had my heart set on a documentary-style photographer, and I was especially drawn to Stuart’s work. I followed his portfolio online and was continually impressed with every post. Leading up to the wedding, John was more of a help than he probably realizes. He took the reins on scheduling the entire day — something that should’ve been in my wheelhouse (I’m a planner and a project manager by day), but somehow felt incredibly daunting. John made it easy and even encouraged me to book extra time with our venue. Thank god he did. Every bit of advice he gave was spot on, from how much time we needed for getting ready, to first look, to portraits. The guy knows what he’s doing — he’s a true professional and I only wish I listened to him sooner.
On the day of, Stuart and Denida were top tier. They arrived right on time, were exceptionally kind, and made both me and my husband feel completely comfortable. They worked seamlessly and quietly, doing things behind the scenes that I didn’t even notice in the moment — because they never wanted me to stress. My family and friends were absolutely obsessed with both of them. They were not only professional, but also hilarious and engaging — somehow making noises I didn’t even know were humanly possible to get the attention of my 10-month-old twin nephews!
I would book this team again in a heartbeat and will recommend them to everyone I know. There was truly nothing more they could have done to make our day more perfect — because they already did it all. When I received our photos from John, everything was communicated clearly and on time. I never once had to worry, and the results? Absolutely exceeded every expectation. The photos are spectacular, beautifully edited, and exactly what I had dreamed of.

our wedding for where we would be relocating to, just outside of Scranton.
John shot our engagement photos in Philadelphia, and he did an incredible job. His personality immediately puts us at ease. This was huge for us because we are not the type of people who are naturals in front of the camera. What could have felt awkward didn’t, and that made the entire experience and the photos so much better.
By no surprise, John himself was booked on our wedding day, but two members of his team, Denida and Michael, were there to shoot our wedding. Denida was absolutely hilarious while still being very professional, and Michael fit right in with the guys. They both made the day feel easy and comfortable, which is exactly what we needed on our wedding day.
The editing did take time, but the saying really does hold true, good things come with time. My husband and I were completely blown away by how incredible our photos turned out. Every detail, and every moment was captured beautifully.
If you want photographers who are not only kind and genuine, but also creative and have an incredible eye for detail, look no further. John Barone and his team are truly the best.

up fast - and for good reason) John made sure to set up a video call with us before we even signed a contract to make sure we aligned on the direction we were looking for. On the day of our wedding, both John and Stef showed up early and got straight to work. They both kept us on schedule but making sure to include all shots that we had asked for. John would show me previews right off of his camera - even before the editing, the shots were turning out incredible. We really enjoyed their vibes throughout the whole day and night - so funny and down to earth, while remaining professional and getting the job done quick and efficiently. All of our guests had nothing but kind words to say about these two. We also had the black and white portrait booth which was AMAZING. Again, nothing but great feedback about this. If we had to re-do this day, we would continue to choose John & Stef over and over and over again. His work is gorgeous and truly invaluable. On our wedding day, John and his second shooter, Denida, were absolutely incredible. They kept everything running smoothly, handled a last-minute big family photo with zero stress, and brought such a calm, positive energy to the day. They even worked magic with the kids in our wedding party — jumping, making funny noises, whatever it took to get those perfect smiles.
And the photos…wow. John’s style is stunning. Every shot is vibrant, crisp, and full of life, yet nothing feels staged. The portraits are elegant and cinematic, and the candid moments are pure emotion. He somehow captures the real moments without you even noticing he’s there. Watching our wedding video, we realized John had sprinted across the dance floor to capture the final dip of our first dance — we hadn’t even noticed! He’s a total ninja, and the results speak for themselves.
Another thing that makes John truly special: he edits every single photo himself, without AI or third-party editors. While the final gallery might take a little longer to be completed, the time and attention he puts into each image is obvious — every photo is perfectly polished, full of detail, and shows his love for what he does.
One of our favorite touches was the black & white set he created for our guests. It was thoughtful, stylish, and our friends and family are still raving about it.

On the big day, our family portraits were done quickly and smoothly, and the bridal party shots were a blast! The portraits of my husband and me felt so intimate and really captured our love. We ran ahead of schedule with all of our photos and we only used between 10-15 minutes of cocktail hour time to capture a few extra couple portraits.
Our guests loved the black-and-white portrait booth. John set up a QR code for them to easily access the gallery, which was super helpful for us!

From the bridal photos (which I initially didn't want but am now so grateful for) to our intimate ceremony, stunning portraits throughout Philadelphia, and our reception in Lafayette Hill, John’s expertise shone through every step of the way.
John was incredibly knowledgeable, talented, and responsive. From the very beginning, he provided clear direction and guided us seamlessly through the process. Honestly, what’s the point of hiring a professional if you’re not going to lean on their experience? He helped guide us to get photos that truly worked and captured our day perfectly.

When it came time to plan my destination wedding, the easiest answer besides saying yes to my now husband’s proposal was saying yes to John Barone Photography! Working with him & his wife in Curaçao was a dream & the pictures are absolutely stunning and truly everything I had hoped for. The communication leading up to, during, & after was just right. He curated such a special first look experience with my husband & me and also created a special first look moment with my Dad as well. He was thoughtful, present, organized, & calm… which was the perfect balance for a type A personality bride. He helped pose us & provided good direction and the pictures are simply stunning & look like they are from a bridal magazine! He also captured so many authentic candids that allowed me to relive the raw genuine emotions of the day.
His presence during the ceremony & reception was like that of a photography ninja. He was present at all the right moments but never detracted from the moment. My Dad is very hard to please and could not stop raving about how professional & skilled John was even before getting the photos back.
Him & his wife are wonderful people and it was such a pleasure having them both at my wedding. As a previous wedding planner myself, I still relied heavily on his experience and advice to come up with a sensible timeline for my unique wedding day situation (which he was spot on mapping out to the minute).
On the Day of, we were BLESSED to have his trusted accomplice, Stuart, taking all the shots! With the most gentle demeanor you could imagine, I don’t think this awkward unphotogenic bride could have been as comfortable as I was with Stuart. He was a real hero for me and was so unimposing throughout the day, blending seamlessly with the guests, going with the flow, just doing his thing.
We were blown (FAR) away by the final outcome of our pics… the caliber of this photography is another level. It’s truly unbelievable how both John and Stuart’s talents really came together - from the execution of one to the editing of another - we feel so lucky we even got a chance to work with these incredible and genuine dudes!

ing photographer! From the first video call that we had with John, my fiancé and I were certain we chose the right person. He was so laid back, and listened to what we wanted to capture in our photos. If we had a question he was quick to respond in detail. The day of my wedding it rained all morning and John helped us to take the most amazing pictures. Everyone at the wedding loved his attitude, and personality. He made everyone feel so comfortable in front of the camera.
The B&W booth was the best decision we made. If you are on the fence about adding it, it is totally worth it! We have some of the best pictures of our friends and family from the B&W booth. Prior to the wedding, John worked with us to devise a schedule that fit our rather unique needs. He even went to the reception venue itself to meet with the staff and view the space for himself as well as scope out the neighborhood to determine good locations for outdoor photos.
On the day of the wedding, John and his team were punctual and professional. Throughout the day, we felt relaxed and were able to be ourselves. At no point did we feel like we had to stop what we were doing to pose for a shot. The B&W set at the reception was a hit!

From our initial consultation to the final delivery of our photos, John and his team demonstrated a level of dedication and expertise that truly set his company apart. They took the time to understand our vision for the day, asking thoughtful questions and offering valuable insights that helped to shape the timeline all with an excellent result.
On the day of the wedding, Stuart was a joy to work with. He and his assistant managed to capture every important moment seamlessly. When he makes suggestions of places, locations, or different shots to try, it's easy to trust him completely and lean into the experience. Some of our favorite shots from our engagement session and wedding came from these moments, proving that there's a method to his madness. On top of all that, the black and white photo set he did at our reception was a huge hit! All our guests loved the concept and the photos not only look phenomenal---like they could be in a magazine---but some are just side-splittingly funny. Overall, we truly enjoyed spending time with John, his associate shooter Stuart, and his son Foster---who wound up assisting at both our engagement session and our wedding! The end results were absolutely perfect and truly capture the essence of us as a couple and who our friends and family are and what they mean to us. I also got engagement photos done with John. He is professional, unbelievably talented and was an all-around amazing person to have on our wedding day. He was extremely organized and new exactly what needed to get done on the day. He was a huge help in making sure the timeline made sense, completely owned the logistics and made sure we got all of the shots (on the most popular wedding day in 2022, while at one of the most popular spots in Philadelphia for wedding photos). The pictures are absolutely stunning. The B&W pictures are so cool and our guests have loved them, they are very unique. He worked with our venue to make sure we could have the B&W set in a less than ideal set-up for him. Don't hesitate to book John, I can't say enough great things about him. day one John was upfront and transparent about his end to end process: day of expectations, timelines, editing techniques, his style, etc. Leading up to our wedding John was extremely easy and quick to communicate with, always sending reminders and answering any questions/concerns almost immediately and at length to ensure we had a clear understanding. He is so down to earth, organized, and very reachable :)
On our wedding day John expertly captured the intimacy, love, playfulness, and raw emotion of the day. He had a clear plan of action, especially with group shots and creatively worked with the sunlight to incorporate beautiful natural lighting in our photos. It is impossible to even choose favorites! John’s professionalism and industry experience clearly shone through on our day. He made everyone feel comfortable and helped make the day so lighthearted and fun. For each part of the day he explained his thought process, what he was going to capture, and the timing. He kept the photos moving without rushing it and showed us some quick preview shots on his camera throughout the day. There was no sense of awkward camera shyness as John cooly puts you at ease. He will do anything to get ‘the shot’. We truly did not have to worry about anything photo-wise. John’s crew is also wonderful to work with! Zero stress/worries at all.
John’s editing is timeless and classic - we know these photos will be just as beautiful 30 years down the road. He is not someone who slaps a filter or trendy editing on pictures. It is clear he is a seasoned vet and absolute rockstar. The guests also loved the black and white photo set he provides with his package. I cannot recommend John enough - get on his schedule ASAP as he fills up fast and you will not be disappointed!!!!

Along the way, John was communicative, knowledgeable, and really made us feel like family! :) He had great advice, especially we decided to go with his suggestion of a first look, due to light concerns, and it was the best decision we made! John and his staff were organized the day of, and also came prepared with ideas for shot locations around the venue. The whole day was perfect!! The photos afterwards were magical, and can only be described as perfection! Some even looked like paintings, which my husband and I loved! The only thing we didn’t like…. was how HARD he made it to choose photos for our album since they are all amazing! Not only are his photos beautifully taken but he is professional and easy to work with. John has a way of making you feel comfortable in every shot so that you are constantly smiling and giving off the image of your best self. I was nervous about how my wedding pictures would turn out as I was 7 months pregnant with twins and didn’t feel like your typical beautiful bride but he made me feel fabulous on the day of and looking back at the photos has me smiling all over again. Not only did we love working with John but our guests couldn’t get enough of him. We worked with John for years leading up to our wedding, literally years. Through all of our wedding postponements and delays, John always went above and beyond to be accommodating...
and had an abundance of patience. When our wedding day finally arrived, we were a little overwhelmed not knowing how the whole “day of” process works. John came in calm, cool and collected which immediately took our stress level down a whole lot of notches. His presence was very comforting, his direction was very clear, his years of experience was evident. He took us around the city for photographs and made it fun! We were fascinated by how John’s experience and eye for photography took us to places we would have never envisioned as a backdrop for our photos. The pre-ceremony pictures were painless, the photography during was seamless (we didn’t even notice him there), the after was fun and the black and white photoset was a huge hit for our guests.
