He helped us tailor the proposal to fit our needs which changed quite a bit during the months leading up to our multi-day and multi-cultural wedding. He even met with us in person to iron out the shot list. On the wedding day, John knew exactly when to tell us what to do and when to give us room to get all in our feelings. He was such a joy to have with us on our days, and made us feel totally comfortable. Our wedding planner also told us several times that he was a blast to work with from the vendor side. Finally, even during the busiest wedding season EVER for vendors, his turn-around time was great! We feel amazed at how perfectly his photos captured all the moving parts of an Indian-Brazilian-American wedding. My husband & I got engaged in August & got married in December. It was October when I found John, within a week I was taking my engagement pictures! His style captures moments so beautifully and from the best angles. His guidance and confidence in his shots was so helpful and comforting to me and my wife as we had no idea what to do on our own. He talked us through every shot and was able to pull off some of the best photos I've seen of myself in my life. Seriously, when my wife and I saw the preview pics up 2 days after the wedding it was like opening a ton of gifts on Christmas morning. The preview shots were so good we can't imagine what the full album will be. For the rate that John charges it's a total steal. He's a top caliber photographer and if you like his style of shooting you won't have to worry about a thing come your special day. Seriously, our wedding rained so we had to move everything inside (it sucked because it was suppose to be outside next to the beach). There was a window of an hour after the ceremony where we started to take photos with John. It had just stopped raining and he asked me and my wife if we'd be willing to go outside on the beach and try out some photos outside. He had this vision in his head and he just really wanted to see it come true for us. My wife was all for it but I was a little skeptical because I didn't want to get my shoes ruined. e. After interviewing and speaking with several different photographers, we chose John because of his creative style, “cuddle factor,” and warm personality that showed through in his photos. Unfortunately, we didn’t experience all that we had hoped for during our engagement session in Central Park. The pictures weren’t bad by any means – they turned out nice – but they lacked specific points of interest (meaningful spots in the park, landscape views of the scenery) and creatives (pictures that required certain lenses and different equipment, etc.) we had specifically spelled out we would like. We had our first date here, so we were hoping more of the magic could have been captured. Not to discount the fact it was a summer Saturday afternoon and very busy, but we did offer to meet on another day: the need for close-ups and not much background showed in the pictures. John has a very easy-going attitude, which no doubt works for some, but we were looking for some more direction in posing and did not see the personality fitting for our in-all-directions families on wedding day. We ended up using one AWESOME shot for our Save the Date and have received numerous compliments on it – John definitely put himself out there, stopping traffic in the middle of a NYC street to get this perfect picture. We had a fun day, but we did lose the deposit for essentially a few pictures we ended up liking: using the engagement as a test run, another photographer will be shooting our wedding.

t day of our lives. The work, photos and attitude we received was not what we had hoped for. I would do your research and meet with multiple photographers - your wedding is your big day! I wouldn't trust this vendor with such an important day, and we are very upset with the services that we received. Below are a few reasons why: 1) Strangely, family and friends captured many more lively images with bright colors and set up shots with their iPhones, which looked much better than majority of the images we received from our professional photographer (print is better quality too, which is pretty shocking). 2) In virtually every family photo my eyes were closed or the quality is extremely blurry and you can hardly make out the faces. The ones I tried to print wouldn’t print bigger than 5x7 and you can't see the image well, which is disappointing as we were gifted some beautiful, large picture frames and are unable to use them or have larger prints made. John said this would be fixed if I ordered the prints through him. I find this incredibly hard to believe as I went through Shutterfly and didn't edit or retouch the photos. 3) Majority of the photos were taken from an odd angle, and random objects are seen in the background, including an ice cream truck, which was expressly promised to be edited out. This of course, could have been avoided had the photographer taken a few steps over or asked us to take a few steps over. 4) Lastly, and most importantly, there isn't a photo of us ( just the bride and groom) that we would be proud to frame. There was little attention to detail, and my bridesmaids had to take time out of their already hectic day to help John stage photos and give him ideas (including the standard dress shot, bouquet, shoes, etc.). We struggled to find any value in the photos. On the day of my wedding, I didn’t have the time to direct. Since we are unable to rewind the clock on our wedding day, we were hoping to compromise and have some additional editing that was initially promised. However, John has not been very accommodating or pleasant to work with since delivering the photos. Although we will never have the photos that captured our families on the actual wedding day that we wanted, my husband and I ended up paying for another (amazing) photographer to capture photos of us to recreate our wedding. We are beyond thrilled with the high quality of the photos and we now have the photos we dreamed of. We could have saved ourselves a lot of money and trouble had we went with another photographer on our wedding day. We don't have a single photo from our wedding day in our apartment, but we proudly display our second photographers work. My biggest advice for brides is to do extensive research when finding a photographer and take the time to look at their previous work. Please don’t make the same mistake that we did.
