ngs promised. We hired John as a photographer for our rehearsal dinner and wedding. The sum of the Johns work was messy, grainy and unprofessional. More like taking random pictures at a party of nothing instead of understanding this is an intimate wedding with a once in a lifetime opportunity for these photos. Every conversation we had leading up to the event I asked him to please guide us every step of the way and I even gave him a shot list and photo references of exactly what I wanted and pictures of people in the wedding with names and labels of who everyone was. We had 35 guests, 4 in the wedding party and 6 family members we wanted photos of. He gave no instruction at all, he did not research or visit the venue prior to the wedding as promised and did not consider our surroundings for 2 days. He only got 3 photos of our family and none of them were good. He had to take all 3 and have them digitally altered into 1 so it would look decent. Out of the shot list I gave him he only accomplished one of the desired photos. He added so much stress to the day for me and it showed. I kept having to ask him to take photos of this and that. He was not paying attention at all finally my maid of honor directed him to take a few fun photos that turned out ok. John said he would have the photos back in 4 weeks. He only sent us one photo at 4 weeks then gradually over another week or so he sent the rest. I was so heartbroken when I saw how unclear they were and how nothing was edited out of the background or touched up. I asked him if he could clear them up for me and that took another few weeks. When I got them back there were significantly less photos than before and if they were edited, I couldn’t really tell. I specifically asked John not to post any photos of us online without permission and he ignored me and posted some. HE POSTED PHOTOS OF US BEFORE WE EVEN HAD A CHANCE!!!! Once I saw them I immediately asked him to take them down and he did so after an hour. I dislike our photos so much that I still have not posted any of them. He promised us a 20x20 photo of our choice so he could “control the picture quality” that we have yet to get and he has not responded about... From the beginning we should have known better from his lack of communication. Then we tried to contact him 3 weeks, 2 weeks then 10 days before the wedding with no response. He had great reviews and I paid him through Venmo so the money was spent and we really wanted it to work with him. Frantically, I tried to find another photographer 10 days before our wedding. He finally responded after my sister and I messaged and called him on every forum possible. When he finally got back to me he said everything would be fine and he was a professional. NOT AT ALL!!. We had a private moment to eat upstairs and John was supposed to take photos of us on the balcony. Right after that my husband wanted to do James Bond photos and John proceeded to tell us that he used to shoot pornography and one of the themes was James Bond I felt this was inappropriate and added to the level of discomfort I had with him. I do not recommend him at all. He had several wonderful reviews and that is why I hired him I don’t know why we were different. John did not deliver.
