I was just thinking about the wonderful things of 2025. My granddaughter's wedding was the best!!! We all had the greatest time because of the band City Heat!!!!! I noticed how everyone seemed to dance throughout the reception. Unfortunately, I was in a wheelchair at the time, but the band's leader Marilee encouraged my granddaughter and I to do a "wheel chair dance". The band was most gracious and cheerful and pleased everyone all through the reception. It was so much fun, we hated for the reception to end! I would encourage anyone looking for a band for any occasion to use City Heat!!!! You'll be happy too if you do!!!

City Heat did, in fact, bring the heat and played The Beatles, Beyonce, ABBA, Taylor Swift, Van Morrison, Lizzo, Shania Twain, Dexys Midnight Runners, Dua Lipa, Katrina and the Waves, John Denver, and more with SO much talent that the dance floor was always full and jumping! All our guests & friends for knew by heart songs they played across all those eras and genres.
If you know someone planning a Pittsburgh event, make sure to tell them about City Heat. Even the staff were having a good time!

voices and talent were amazing. 3 days later we booked him for our wedding in PA. We were so glad to learn he was from PA and performed there a lot also! He made the whole process super easy and is super organized. A year later they were smashing our reception! We loved how he communicates with and makes everybody part of the fun. A great MC but more, he just connects in a way that's super unique. We can't recommend JPB enough if you want a band at your wedding that's going to get everybody dancing and keep them there.

They even surprised us and learned a song from Hamilton. During our first meeting, we casually mentioned it was our favorite musical and we never chatted about it again. Then all of a sudden during the salad course, they are playing You'll be Back! The whole crowd sang along. It was such a memorable moment in the evening that my guests are still talking about. And it meant a lot to us.
If you are looking for a band that knows their stuff, is extremely talented, will truly work with you, and will have your guests raving about how much fun they had at your event, hire John Parker! It was just such a special and wonderful night thanks to them!

Dreamscape was so much fun and brought the energy. They even worked with my bridesmaids to coordinate a karaoke bride & groom moment for the final song of the night. Working with John leading up the wedding was also great- I seriously appreciated his price transparency and flexibility in planning options, as well as answering the million questions I had. Couldn't recommend them enough!!

ce floor was filled during the entire reception, and almost all of the guests stayed until the end of the party! Nobody had to be coaxed to the dance floor as the music and the emceeing were incredible! There were several times that I had to look at the band to determine if they were playing or if we were hearing a recording from the original artist!
Every time I speak to someone about the wedding (as recent as last evening), I am asked the name of the band and complimented on choosing them to entertain at the wedding.
John Parker was masterful in his guidance, and we are so glad that we trusted his expertise!
The playlist was engaging and appealed to multiple generations attending the wedding.
Hiring Dreamscape was one of the best decisions we made in planning the wedding.

From the start, John was amazing to work with -- organized, professional, easygoing, and just as excited about our big day as we were. Not only did his band blow everyone away at the reception, but the keyboard & violin and piano & saxophone he coordinated for our ceremony and cocktail hour were also fantastic & added so much to the earlier part of the day too.
The energy John brought had guests dancing at every chance they got.. We had 20-30 people up and dancing during appetizers! Guests I have never in my life seen even near the dance floor were out there dancing the whole night. It was truly spectacular to have guests of all ages very clearly enjoying themselves.
We’ve gotten so many compliments from friends and family, and the biggest one by far was how incredible the band was. John’s talent as a performer and his presence as an MC tied everything together perfectly, making the night seamless and unforgettable.
If you want a band that will elevate your event, pack the dance floor, and leave your guests raving, I highly recommend working with John!

We first heard them at a party. We were with a group of 15 people ranging in age from 20 to 63 and we were all blown away. All of us we...
re dancing and having fun all night. We were not alone.... 100's stayed late - the sign of a great band.
We all agreed that was the most fun we had ever had at one of these parties and we said we would want them for a wedding band.
We heard JPB again at another event and they continued to outperform every other band we have heard.
We then booked JPB for the wedding at our club. We had guests of all ages and from around the world and everyone had a good time...even the non-dancers got out on the floor!
What does JPB do well?
*ENTERTAINING - They have a wide range of music and absolutely everyone enjoys themselves.
*Read the room - Many bands fail here. You have to see what is connecting with your audience and vary the timing and type of music you play. JPB has a great feel for the room.
*Advise - without being pushy John had ideas on audience flow, timing and presentation that added greatly to the enjoyment of the evening. While they are ready to do whatever you ask, they will also tactfully let you know if something is unlikely to work.
*Organized - JPB knows what it is doing. Months ahead they are collecting song ideas, giving advice and continually touching base to make sure they are in tune with us and vice versa to create the best possible event.
I cannot recommend John Parker Band enough They are everything you would want in a band!

dance floor like they did when the band opened the dance portion of the evening. The band played crowd favorites with enough variety to keep people interested throughout the evening, and they had enough experience and professionalism to make choices on the fly that worked so well for our evening. We were given white glove service by the band owner, JP, throughout the months of planning. We had a special version of our first dance song that we learned choreography to, and the band learned it exactly as it we choreographed it and it went off without a hitch. I wanted a father-daughter dance song that was not in their repertoire, and the band learned it, no problem. We had a special private last dance and the band suggested it be played in acoustic for the vibes -- we agreed, and boy, were we thankful we did it that way, because the vibes were immaculate. The guitarist even came out onto the dance floor for a song or two! We are still receiving compliments regarding our band a month and a half later. If you work with JP and Dreamscape, you cannot go wrong.

nd enough. We booked JPB for our cocktail hour (live pianist) and reception (10-piece band).
John is a natural and the upmost professional. We had a wedding party of hard-to-pronounce last names which he handled with grace. One of the small details I noticed was how we got the energy up in the reception before the bridal parties, parents, and bride & groom were introduced. Everyone was having a good time before we even got to the party.
Next, let's talk about the performance. WOW. Our wedding was a few months ago and I'm still hearing about how amazing he was. He's the full package - he's got the talent, the looks, and the charisma. Our friends and family spent all night long on the dance floor, from the young guests to the 90+ year old grandmothers. The quote of the night was "where did you find this band?! they are AMAZING!"
We were initially interested in JPB because of their rock and roll abilities. He and the band brought these songs to a new level. From Journey, ACDC, and Bruce; to Sinatra and Con Te Partiro and Bruno Mars. This band can truly do it all - and they will do it well AND in a way that isn't hokey. I could not believe how beautiful John and his daughter sounded singing a duet of Con Te Partiro (which was a surprise to us and much appreciated).
Finally, I'll mention how John was able to balance rocking the socks off the wedding, without stealing the show. Above all, it was still our wedding, which lends to his ability to MC and move through the regular wedding events while keeping the fun going all night long.
Really, from start to finish, JPB band brought our wedding to the next level. They were so great we have already booked them for another event.
RUN, don't walk, to book JPB!

always has a fan blowing his long blond 80s-style locks as he performs, and he occasionally breaks out a keytar. The whole band is wildly talented. We hired an 8-piece for our May 2023 wedding, and our guests would not stop talking about how this was the best wedding band they'd ever experienced. They play an expansive range of music that's appreciated by a wide array of people, and they're detail-oriented in the planning process so you get exactly what you want on the big day.
My tip (besides hiring this band): Don't give them too many music recommendations. Give them a general idea of what you like and don't like, and let John read the room — he's a pro at it. The band even learned our first dance song just for our wedding, as it wasn't on their list of 1,000 tracks they already knew — we hadn't expected it, and it was a sweet surprise. This band is worth every penny. It MAKES the wedding. (This was actually my third John Parker performance. My husband and I had seen him play multiple weddings before, and we literally planned our wedding date around his availability.)

ghout the entire planning process. We only needed to fill out a few online forms and had a few personal phone calls to get all the details squared away. He answered all of our questions and helped us pick the proper band arrangement to fit our venue. He also mixed us custom MP3 cuts for our first dance, father/daughter dance, and mother/son dance based on our request. On the day of the wedding, he emceed and provided the entertainment for the reception. We had a few events (cake cutting and champagne tower) with pre-selected songs that he and the band performed. Everything was absolutely perfect. Outside of those two events, we let him pick the set list based on the crowd and everyone stayed on the dance floor for the entire night. how great they were, and so are our guests!! John makes things so easy from start to finish. He is easy to get in touch with and is a great help (he even gives good advice and has great suggestions based on experience)! John is a professional and knows what he is doing. One thing we also really liked about this band as opposed to others we spoke with, is they do not perform as if they are doing a cookie-cutter, pre-rehearsed "set." Some bands we talked to told US what songs they would be playing from start to finish, even if they were not songs we were into. The John Parker Band has such a vast repertoire of songs and genres. They played music that we loved and even took live requests! John is also a great MC and picks up on social ques from guests to keep things alive. We are already talking about how we cannot wait to have another event one day just so we can have this band back. Music makes or breaks your wedding. You cannot go wrong with the John Parker Band.

John took the time to patiently organize and plan collaboratively with us (a real difference-maker!). He took all of our notes and requests into account and provided a night of entertainment that our guests loved. We received tons of compliments on the band from guests of all ages.

I received countless compliments from friends and family about how great they were. John & his band excelled in every music genre we requested... everything from 80s rock to Frank Sinatra. They had guests from age 2 to age 96 dancing for the entirety of our reception.
John's attention to detail and preparation beforehand gave me the confidence that everything would be picture perfect... and it was! John and I had a couple of calls before the reception to make sure we were on the same page for how we wanted things... and to make sure all of our names were pronounced correctly.
Having gone to many weddings before my own, I knew how important the music aspect was. With that said, I wanted to have the best of the best for our wedding reception... and with the performance The John Parker Band put on, I know I fulfilled that goal!

we worked with him up to the wedding, really made us thankful he was available for our wedding. He made everything SO easy.
John & band were a big WOW at our wedding. Awesome with the best singers, (JP has an amazing voice) a perfect mix of old school & some really great newer music too. No junk music that's so out there now either. A perfect mix for all our family & friends. And his on-stage personality really connected, he took guests' requests & just made everyone a part of our day.
We still are still getting compliments from guests about "that band". We're both Professional people & didn't really like or relate any of the musicians or companies we contacted at first. But once we spoke with JP, his energy & professionalism came across from the start, and he was so helpful with our planning too. He was majorly WORTH IT!

They played a wonderful selection of appropriate dinner music while guests were enjoying their meals, and when the dance floor opened they played a great mix of songs all night long, keeping guests of all ages on the dance floor until the celebrations ended.

We we’re more than pleased with our decision to have John Parker and Dreamscape entertain our wedding guests! In fact, the crowd was still on their feet when their performance ended so we requested that they continue playing….and they did!

COVID canceled my son’s first wedding date, and John worked with us on the new date (1 year later)… the wedding venue’s remodeling canceled the wedding on the second date… so with ...
3 months until the wedding it was relocated. John worked with us to accommodate the change…WITHOUT charging any extra fees (not all vendors did that!).
With short notice John had to work out his logistics with a new facility, a new coordinator and a new planner.
And then the wedding finally happened! The reception was PERFECT! We could not have asked for a better emcee. John is definitely a professional and knows his business!! And the John Parker Band has great talent, great stage presence and made the reception a party worth remembering!! They went above and beyond to make sure the bride and groom created wonderful life time memories.
