John shot our wedding back in October 2003 at Zion Lutheran in Waterville and Brandywine Country Club in Toledo. He was professional, creative and fun -- we even shot some pictures in the river, including one of my little sister walking across without shoes. It's one of my favorites.
Over the past few years, I have been so happy with the quality of the photos, shot both in black and white and color. I especially love the candids: my mom and me laughing in the basement of the church; my good friend Anna goofing around in the pews during "formal" shots; the silly in-between moments with friends while we were waiting for the "major" stuff of the wedding to happen.
I would highly recommend John as a photog for any wedding or major event. His ability to capture moments on the fly makes him a great fit for a day you spend a year (or more) planning.
John was, without a doubt, one of the best parts of our wedding day. He approaches photography with an eye of journalism and carefully composes each player in each image. Though he may position himself as a modist artist, his attention to detail and sense of humor are beyond exceptional. We love our wedding photos, we love the art behind them, and we love the intricate details in each frame.
I whole heartedly recommend John Walz Photography!
