With 20 years of experience and 100 years of music available, we tailor each event to your likes and wants. You are unique, your tastes are unique, so should the music for your event be unique. It's your day, done your way! We do not use a cookie-cutter thumb drive from someone else's event. Sure, some songs are a given, but we can also play an only 80's power rock, a southern-stye BBQ, an event with a Latin, or ethnic flair. Songs from your playlist are no problem, or leave it to us to watch the crowd and keep them moving on the floor! Why choose JohnJ? My name is on the door. I don't sub it out to a rotating pool of DJs. You get me, my experience and my passion for music and my dedication to making a truly unique event. I offer a free second sound system for use at a gazebo / arbor along with the best wireless microphones so guests can hear your ceremony, free lighting, and more! I also offer military, first responder and several other discounts. Of course we do weddings, but much more -- class reunions are a specialty as are corporate events! We love backyard BBQs as well as milestone anniversaries and birthdays. I’m a year late with writing a review because our first year of marriage was busy! However, one of the things we remember fondly from our wedding was how wonderful John J Entertainment made our wedding reception. John and Mike kept everyone entertained the entire reception. One of our favorites was the picture game where we were able to get our picture taken with every table! They kept the dance floor going the entire wedding and everyone had a ton of fun! I would definitely recommend John J Entertainment for your dj needs!

John J Entertainment joined us at our reception in June of 2023 at Sugarbush Resort in Warren, VT. He and his son were great to work with! They were very detailed; I completed a questionnaire packet that covered basically anything you could think of - what genres of music you want played throughout the evening and when, what types of announcements needs to be made and when, which party dances (macarena, electric slide, etc.) you'd like to play and when, etc. After the questionnaire, John and his son also took time to get to know me and what I wanted over Zoom calls. They made me feel very comfortable that they will do whatever you want or need for DJ requirements/requests. They were also incredibly flexible, and willing to change up playlists on the fly if it was needed (it wasn't, but it was nice to know that was available). On top of the great service leading up to the event, they were incredible day-of. Punctual, responsible, attentive, professional, and just lovely to work with overall. The price was extremely reasonable, to boot! John even has a discount system, which was really nice (every penny counts when you're planning a wedding, amiright?). I would recommend John J Entertainment for your DJ needs!

We had the pleasure of working with John and Mike for our July wedding in the NEK of Vermont. In the months leading up to the big day, John was incredibly professional and easy to work with. From the beginning, I could tell how passionate John was about providing exceptional entertainment. He asked thorough questions during the planning phase and was responsive to requests as we compiled a large playlist of songs we thought our guests would enjoy. The week of our wedding, John and Mike were both available to go over any last-minute changes and make sure all the details were smoothed out. This gave us peace of mind and ensured we were able to focus on other areas of the wedding as we felt John had everything covered. On the day of the wedding, John and Mike showed up several hours early to setup. Mike also set up a portable speaker for our ceremony as it was about 100 yards from the reception tent. The half hour of ceremony music was right on cue and sounded phenomenal. As for the reception, John handled all the announcements flawlessly. The sound from the speakers was high quality, plenty loud, and very clear. John and Mike even played an extra half hour at the requests of our guests. They kept it lively and adjusted from the set playlist accordingly. Our guests had a great time and we had the most memorable day filled with great entertainment from John J. John was wonderful! He communicated clearly & well. He was prepared & flexible with our setup and venue. The quality of his service was excellent & the value was fantastic. Most importantly, he kept the floor packed all night with a variety of music genres & eras for our dancing pleasure!

John J was very professional, however his helper needed a lot of assistance with communication skills. Asked for requests at a Wedding, then over 2 hours later still did not play the request. Then when a follow as to when the song would be played, major attitude. “ If you ask again, I am not going to play it”. Hey Buddy, it has been 2 hours, just asking when it will be played.

Dear JC, I am very sorry for the inappropriate response. That is not the way to respond to anyone, let alone a guest. This was an aberrant behavior -- I have received many compliments about his warm, congenial manner. I have spoken with m...

y assistant and coached in him in the appropriate communication. He should have said, "We have an amazing set of Hip-Hop and R&B coming up at the top of the 3rd hour starting at 9:00, we will play your request at that time. Currently we are wrapping up the 70s dance and have sets of Motown, and Latin before we move to R&B/Hip-Hop". At JohnJ entertainment we take great pride in planning the night based on a 7-page reception document worked out with the bride and groom. We do not use a cookie cutter thumb drive from someone else's wedding. We do not jump around disjointedly with mish-mosh of genres. Also, we don't mash 15 seconds clips of songs. We spend 40+ hours planning seamless transitions that include at least 90-second - 3 minute slices of the best part of songs. As you can attest, this does show in the fact that the dance floor was 90% - 100% packed for 3 solid hours -- and it was a large dance floor! Still, we were able to squeeze in a dozen requests, including yours, and played for an extra 15 minutes past end time. Nonetheless, it was an inappropriate response to you and I apologize for that -- it won't happen again. Thank you for bringing it to my attention. JohnJ

I highly recommend John J Entertainment if you are looking for a professional to host your upcoming event. JJ met with us at our home to choose the music for our daughter's wedding.He had the family up and dancing in our family room! He was able to provide the songs we wanted and was well aware of generational preferences. On the day of the wedding we were stress free and he had our guest up and dancing until the grand finale.

John was so warm and agreeable (as was his son). He is extremely responsive and was able to accommodate a significant change in our ceremony technology (officiant got covid 2 days before wedding so we asked him to set up a system to project the audio/video of a recorded speech). At the reception, his suggested games went over great and a few people at the wedding asked for the playlist. It was also really nice because he didn't talk much - just let people dance and played the whole song (no awkward annoying mash ups or jarring song changes). If you are looking for a straight-forward, easy to work with dj, he is the guy.

Great DJ! Very easy to work with, great communication and variety of music for all everyone at our family wedding. Extremely accommodating- the guests didn't want to leave the floor at the end so John extended his time. I would definitely recommend and use John J Entertainment again.

I've been passionate about music since the time I was born -- maybe sooner - in the womb. My mom worked at Columbia records where she got to hear master tapes before they went to press! My 7 great uncles passed on their collection of great swing and rat pack music to me and I amassed a collection of 3,000 vinyl albums, 1,000 45s and 4,000 CDs over the years. In high school school I created a radio station and then hosted a college radio show I lived in Georgia during the 90s and attended 20 concerts a year.
