ing budget — a significant investment that we made specifically to reduce stress. Unfortunately, the planning process became far more stressful while she was involved.
From early on, I felt like I was driving the entire process instead of being guided through it. My input was often overlooked despite the emphasis on being detail-oriented. For example, I had to correct the color of our chairs three separate times. We were repeatedly sent vendor contracts with major inaccuracies — including contracts listing roughly half the number of tables and chairs we actually needed for our tent wedding. This made it extremely difficult to track our real budget and left me constantly worried that costs would double later.
There were also logistical oversights that added to the anxiety. At one point, a lighting contract estimated the lighting team would arrive before the tent would even be installed. Because this was a large backyard wedding with many moving parts that a traditional venue would normally handle, we really needed a planner who could manage the big picture. Instead, I felt like I was doing her job in addition to my own and constantly following up to ensure details were being considered.
My husband and I were always professional and kind. After I reached out directly to our florist to clarify details about a floral chandelier (after not receiving an answer), Johnnie unexpectedly terminated our contract, stating we were “no longer a good fit.” We had worked together for about 2.5 months at that point and had already paid half of the contract upfront. While I do not believe the amount we paid reflected the level of service we received, we were relieved to be released from the contract without further fees.
I am giving two stars instead of one because she did help us locate the vendors we ultimately used, and they were wonderful. However, after hiring a new planner, the experience was night and day — I was finally able to relax and enjoy wedding planning.
If you are looking for a coordinator, she may be a better fit for that role. But for full-service wedding planning, our experience was extremely stressful, and I would not want another couple to go through the same thing

was straight up PANICKING 5 months out to my wedding day. Johnnie swooped in and completely saved my sanity: in less than a week, she had all of my vendors and a timeline for reaching out to them, put together my to-do list, recommended vendors for the pieces I was missing, and had already drafted an itinerary for the day. All the anxiety I was feeling leading up to the wedding was handled: I had an expert I could trust in my corner and it felt GREAT.
Cut to day of: I didn't expect to feel as calm and relaxed as I did, and I attribute a lot of that to Johnnie's tireless work behind the scenes. She managed vendors, wrangled family members, kept the timeline moving, made sure the two of us ate (!!!), and made the day everything I ever dreamed of.
Johnnie went above and beyond for me: I had a shawl and a teacup of my grandmother's that I wanted prominently displayed, but they didn't get to the venue in time, so we didn't get to use them the day of. Johnnie didn't let me experience any disappointment about that: she managed to get my photographer at a different time and set up a special photoshoot to get the shawl incorporated into my wedding pictures. That was SO MEANINGFUL to me. Johnnie knew that and made sure it happened, come hell or high water. That tells me this isn't just a job to Johnnie, this is a passion. She legitimately cares about her clients and that comes through so strongly in everything she does.

r, as we were keeping the wedding relatively simple (limited vendors, limited decorations, limited headcount [~100]). We decided to err on the side of caution and book Johnnies services as a “Day of” coordinator. All I can really say is I can’t believe how naive we were. Even with our “limited” needs, it would have quickly overwhelmed us and become a full-time job, which we already had. Johnnie took control of coordinating with the vendors we booked, helping us put together the final timeline for the day-of, made sure the venue looked amazing, made sure we were taken care of throughout the whole day, and then worked with the vendors to ensure the venue was clean and that anything of ours was returned to us later. She is the bulldog you want in your corner should anything even slightly go amiss, because she won’t back down. She is also just a generally wonderful and kind person who puts you and your vision at the forefront of everything she does for you. If you are looking for a kind, competent, and creative coordinator, Johnnie is your girl. 5 out of 5 stars.

Our wedding was a super casual lakeside affair. Our venue was a former girl scout camp and we had weekend events all over the grounds. Once the golf cart got there, Johnnie was zooming around, making sure that everyone and everything were where they needed to be when they needed to be there. She went above and beyond, and if there were any hiccups in our big day I didn’t (and still don’t) know about them. I don’t think you can ask for anything more.
