Absolutely the BEST band you can have for your event! Ahead of time Adam communicated and asked what songs we would like played. He was very easy to deal with and there weren’t any surprises. The night of the event they were set up timely and everyone was professional. The musicians were ALL TOP NOTCH….the fiddle player was an extra bonus and the crowd went wild over him. Guests danced all night long and are still talking about the band. Rodney and Kelly kept the crowd involved and entertained. They even came in the crowd with the tambourine and mic for people to sing along while they danced. They took minimal breaks. I truly can’t brag on this group enough! After picking the wedding date our very first call was to Johnny Earthquake and the Moondogs. Having them as our wedding band was a MUST! I normally don’t write reviews but this band certainly deserves a good one. I am not a musician, but I feel like I can tell the difference between professional quality and the average band. This band is outstanding in every way. Their instrumentals are great, the vocals are on key and the lead female singer has great vibrance in her voice. They also know how to make the overall sound crisp and not “clash” when they crank it up. They have an extensive song list. We had the band for our wedding and picked several 80’s hits which I even got to karaoke with a couple of times! You get what you pay for with this band and I highly recommend them.

Could not have asked for a better band! People are still talking about them. That's what most of our guest remember, the band and the food, and they're still raving about the Moondogs. They were very professional and were great at helping keep things that we wouldn't have thought of moving smoothly; introducing the couple, first dance, when to get other people up and dancing when to do special dances and songs. The MC abilities weren't something I would have thought would have been that important, but they really were. If you've ever been to a wedding that didn't run smoothly and people didn't know what exactly to do, you'll know that having someone run things smoothly makes everything much easier and better for the guests. The music was fantastic and the guitarist's dance moves were amazing. We have already recommended them to other couples and would absolutely book them again if we ever have another need for a band.

The Moondogs MADE my wedding reception. I knew I wanted a live band that played mostly classic fun wedding songs, and they definitely delivered. They got the whole crowd up and dancing (even older guests and guests that normally wouldn't dance) and everyone was pretty much on the dance floor all night. They encourage lots of audience participation. I have had so many guests tell me my wedding was the funnest they had ever been to! You will absolutely not be disappointed choosing these guys for your wedding band!

The moondogs really were fantastic. They made our special night that much better! Knowing when to play slow songs and when to pick up the pace really gave the night a great flow and kept everyone engaged. The next day all of our guests we spoke to raved about the band. I was blown away on our big day. The Moondogs threw a party from the moment they second lined us into the reception until the moment we left. We had quite a few requests and they were all pulled off flawlessly. I asked them a few days before to learn a song for my dance with my mom and I didn't think they'd be able to make it happen, but when they started playing it my mom and I lit up. BOOK THIS BAND!!! This is the one thing about our wedding that our guests keep bringing up over and over again - it is a unanimous "That band was amazing!" - and we couldn't agree more! The Moondogs made our wedding truly a night we will never forget! They pulled out so many surprises for us including asking the wedding party to the stage to do an impromptu sing-a-long which made for some epic pictures! The variety of music was outstanding (even though we gave them zero suggestions) and they easily accommodated our request to play particular 1st dance songs (via their audio system). They worked effortlessly with our day of wedding coordinator and facilitated our requests for the timing of the music throughout the night ("elevator" type music before the 1st dances, during the cake cutting, etc.) AND even surprised us with a 2nd line exit to leave our venue! Our dance floor was basically always full and there were never any "awkward" moments of people just standing around. The musicians were all very professional and amazingly talented. Our wedding day wouldn't have been the same without such an amazing band, and based on the feedback we have gotten from our guests - they all agree! Thanks Moondogs!

Wow, where do I even begin? I made the decision to book this band for our wedding strictly off of reading reviews on The Knot...which I won't lie, made me a little nervous. But let me tell you, they BY FAR exceeded my expectations!! Johnny Earthquake & the Moondogs were the highlight of the reception, and made our wedding night unforgettable. They cranked up the energy on the 1st song, and kept it going until the last. They have an amazing talent of engaging with the crowd & getting everyone on the dance floor. From Johnny wandering through the crowd with his shades on and microphone in hand, to serenading my 84 year old grandmother in the middle of the dance floor, to inviting the wedding party on stage and giving us microphones to sing a special version of "Uptown Funk", I literally can't express how much fun these guys were! People are still asking me where I found them, and I cant tell you how many have told me that they were the BEST & most entertaining band they have ever seen at a wedding. If you are looking for a very fairly priced band who are easy to work with, will engage with the crowd, are FUN and will keep everyone dancing until the end, look no further!! Choosing to have them be a part of our special night was the best wedding decision that I made...I can't thank them enough!

I booked the Moondogs (Johnny was to be out somewhere else for the night) for my daughter's wedding reception, and the band was nothing but fabulous! Completely got everyone involved and enjoying the party. Played for a good long time before their first break and then rousing dancing during second set. Surprise visit from Johnny Earthquake for the third set and hated to have to see them leave after that. Wonderful band! Like some other comments about weddings, the groom's family was from Michigan and thought a D.J. would be sufficient, but they were wonderfully surprised that I chose a live band ... and especially this one. Could not get the groom's parents off of the dance floor! Thanks Johnny Earthquake and the Moondogs!

Johnny Earthquake and The Moondogs were fantastic at our wedding! They have an extensive song list that allows you pick familiar songs and songs that aren't overplayed at weddings (that was really important to us). They have a charismatic way of getting all ages on the dance floor, and they really made sure the event was personal to us. I highly recommend this band! (Also, they play a really good Soulshine cover.) Don't hesitate to call this band!

We loved having them as our band!! My husband is from NYC and wanted a DJ but I talked him into our local well known Johnny Earthquake and The Moondogs band. They made our night so special and memorable. All of the wedding party and all our guests really enjoyed the entertainment!! I would highly recommend them to anyone and do the extended play time too! Once your night begins you really don't want it to end :)

These guys played at our wedding and they were great! All of our guests had a great time on the dance floor and the musicians were so easy to work with. My husband was singing along with the band and they were so accommodating to that. It was a great experience working with them. I really enjoyed having them and I got a lot of compliments on how fun our band and reception was. I highly recommend this band!

This was our oldest daughter's wedding. First wedding to plan as a family, (meaning having to keep daughter/bride happy and also keep daddy happy). Johnny Earthquake and the Moomdogs was the perfect band for all of us. What a professional and absolutely wonderful job they did. They went way above and beyond our expectations. They added little extras that made the night perfect. They made us (the brides parents) look really good as for what a fun reception we had. It will always be a night to remember for our entire family and now new family. I highly recommend this band and you will not be disappointed!

Being from Natchitoches and growing up listening to Johnny Earthquake and the Moondogs, I knew there was no other band I wanted to book when I was planning my wedding. The first thing I did was have a meeting to plan some songs I for sure wanted played, and to describe the overall feel I wanted for my wedding. It was a big wedding, so I wanted it to have a giant party feel, with everyone eating, drinking, and dancing! The band more than exceeded my expectations! My husband and I walked out to the LSU fight song (which brought everyone to their feet), and also brought tears to my husbands eyes. The wedding reception itself had EVERYONE dancing, even my 81 year old grandmother! This band also got people involved, having all the groomsmen come up and sing Garth Brooks (which is my husband's favorite), changing into their Saints jerseys for my second line, and had the bridesmaids feeling like Destiny's Child after singing on the stage! Johnny Earthquake and the Moondogs were so professional and made my special day so memorable. I couldn't have asked for anything more and strongly recommend them!

We have had the Moondogs at both of our daughters' wedding receptions and they were great! The music was upbeat and everyone was dancing and having a wonderful time. They really know how to get the wedding party involved and the party going. We highly recommend the Moondogs for any event, but especially for wedding receptions that are unforgettable.

We used this band for our wedding in November. They were awesome! So easy to work with and they played every song we asked them too! The entire band was very talented. They were very fun and included the entire wedding party on stage with them to sing! We had so many compliments after the wedding about how much fun our band was.
