If you want a band who specializes in keeping your wedding guests on the dance floor, this is the band for you. Johnny Earthquake and the Moondogs played hits back to back while tailoring the entire evening to feel personal and authentic to my husband and I. They showed up on time with a pack of 9-10 incredible musicians, brass instruments, percussions, strings, and vocals, and the entire evening they engaged my guests. They have an extensive list of over 250 songs. They have an incredible manger named Adam who did a 1.5 call with me (the bride) to personally customize our set list. I truly feel the presence they brought to the most important night of my life was magical.

Johnny Earthquake and The Moondogs played at my wedding on 01/04/2025 and they were absolutely amazing!! They knew how to get people up and dancing and kept the party going! They even did a Second Line for us for our entrance! The band manager (Adam) was super responsive and super easy to work with. I highly recommend them!! We knew that having a band would be a great addition to our wedding. Being at a wedding should be fun and this band did just that. They brought the fun and made our wedding one that we will remember for the rest of our lives. Of course, Adam was a Saint and answered any questions we had throughout the process and they even went above and beyond to make the band fit in such a tight space at our reception venue. Our guests were on the dance floor the whole night, and everyone raved about how great the band was after the wedding was over. The music the band played for our guests really kept everyone dancing and enjoying the night while celebrating our love. We were even given options to rent lights that were set up at our reception, which made the room even more like a dance party. I cannot recommend this band enough to anyone looking for a fun time.

Johnny Earthquake and the Moondogs was everything and above we could have asked for our wedding band. The communication from the beginning was clear, often, and supportive. The pricing was extremely reasonable and such a deal for their quality! The requests we had about songs, instruments, collaborating with outside musicians and tracks, and more all were met with extreme enthusiasm. They were even able to get to know our crowd and their dancing skills throughout the night and cater to the party. Truly an incredible experience, and I would highly recommend this band to anyone in the the area!

Absolutely the BEST band you can have for your event! Ahead of time Adam communicated and asked what songs we would like played. He was very easy to deal with and there weren’t any surprises. The night of the event they were set up timely and everyone was professional. The musicians were ALL TOP NOTCH….the fiddle player was an extra bonus and the crowd went wild over him. Guests danced all night long and are still talking about the band. Rodney and Kelly kept the crowd involved and entertained. They even came in the crowd with the tambourine and mic for people to sing along while they danced. They took minimal breaks. I truly can’t brag on this group enough! Booking them will be the best thing you do for your event!!

Johnny Earthquake and The Moondogs were the FIRST vendor I hired for our wedding! I had heard them many times before and even though we had to postpone our wedding which then finally turned into a vow renewal celebration, they were worth it. Johnny always knows how to keep the audience engaged and entertained all night, and he made all our celebration dreams come true. I knew YEARS ago that I wanted Johnny Earthquake and ALL of the Moondogs to play at our wedding and it was with the wait. They played all of our favorite songs, were able to accommodate our requests and kept everyone dancing! I will always recommend them to anyone who needs a band in Louisiana and the surrounding areas. After picking the wedding date our very first call was to Johnny Earthquake and the Moondogs. Having them as our wedding band was a MUST! We had to cancel and reschedule due to the pandemic and they were so wonderful about everything. Adam made the logistics super easy and kept in touch with us as the date got closer. We hand picked every song and our guests were entertained from the moment the reception started. The band kept everything flowing and was completely interactive and personalized things just as we requested. Adam was so great about announcing things as they were happening and helped us keep things in order. They knew exactly how to get people moving and the dance floor was full until the last song was played. Everyone talked about the band for days and what a FUN time the reception was. If you need a band for any occasion look no further than the Moondogs. Our friends and family still tell us that our band was the best part of our reception and their feet hurt for days. We are looking for a reason to book them again!

I normally don’t write reviews but this band certainly deserves a good one. I am not a musician, but I feel like I can tell the difference between professional quality and the average band. This band is outstanding in every way. Their instrumentals are great, the vocals are on key and the lead female singer has great vibrance in her voice. They also know how to make the overall sound crisp and not “clash” when they crank it up. They have an extensive song list. We had the band for our wedding and picked several 80’s hits which I even got to karaoke with a couple of times! You get what you pay for with this band and I highly recommend them.

They were single-handedly the reason that our reception turned out so amazing. I could not believe how good they were at making sure the crowd stays pumped up the entire time. We would pick Johnny Earthquake and the Moondogs every time if we had to do it over again. They were such a great time and our guests LOVED them! The band's energy at the reception was completely contagious, and the dance floor was packed the whole night! Adam was wonderful and so easy to work with. Could not have asked for a better band! People are still talking about them. That's what most of our guest remember, the band and the food, and they're still raving about the Moondogs. They were very professional and were great at helping keep things that we wouldn't have thought of moving smoothly; introducing the couple, first dance, when to get other people up and dancing when to do special dances and songs. The MC abilities weren't something I would have thought would have been that important, but they really were. If you've ever been to a wedding that didn't run smoothly and people didn't know what exactly to do, you'll know that having someone run things smoothly makes everything much easier and better for the guests. The music was fantastic and the guitarist's dance moves were amazing. We have already recommended them to other couples and would absolutely book them again if we ever have another need for a band.

Booking Johnny Earthquake and the Moondogs for our wedding was the BEST decision I made in our entire planning process. Our reception was literally the funnest night I ever had and I never stopped dancing! They really made it a party!! I loved how interactive they were with our wedding party and even our guests. Besides being so fun, they are all extremely talented. I was very thankful that Adam made the effort to contact me and go over every detail to make sure the entertainment for the night was exactly what we wanted and how we wanted it. The band even learned a special song just for me! I highly recommend this band and you will NOT regret booking them. The music, lights, and whole presentation was just AWESOME. I wish I could do it all over again and dance some more! My family and friends are still talking about these guys and how fun our wedding was. I wish I had the option to give them more than 5 stars. The Moondogs MADE my wedding reception. I knew I wanted a live band that played mostly classic fun wedding songs, and they definitely delivered. They got the whole crowd up and dancing (even older guests and guests that normally wouldn't dance) and everyone was pretty much on the dance floor all night. They encourage lots of audience participation. I have had so many guests tell me my wedding was the funnest they had ever been to! You will absolutely not be disappointed choosing these guys for your wedding band!

The moondogs really were fantastic. They made our special night that much better! Knowing when to play slow songs and when to pick up the pace really gave the night a great flow and kept everyone engaged. The next day all of our guests we spoke to raved about the band. Johnny Earthquake and The Moondogs is such an amazing band! Choosing them for our wedding reception was one of the best decisions we could have made. The band had the dancefloor full the entire night. We had people of all ages (people in their upper 80s to college students and children) at our reception and everyone seemed to really enjoy the music. Almost 2 months later and we are still hearing people talk about how much fun the band was. One of the best parts about this band is how much they interact with the people - They truly made our night extra fun! Adam, the manager, was so easy-going in the planning process. He is full of great ideas & really made it easy to communicate with the band on what we wanted. We cannot recommend them enough to anyone trying to decide on their wedding band!!

If you are looking for an incredible band to play for your reception, look no further! Adam and the band did an AMAZING job at our reception! We had so much fun dancing the night away on a beautiful 'Louisiana Saturday Night'! The band has a great song list and you can pick your favorites to be played at your reception. Johnny Earthquake & The Moondogs blew the night away. My wife booked the band, and I never heard them live leading up to the wedding. To be honest, I was a little skeptical about having a band rather than a DJ (they can play whatever song you'd like). After hearing them play, I do not regret our decision on allowing them to play at our wedding. They were phenomenal! I would highly suggest anyone who is on the fence about spending the extra money on a band--JUST DO IT!! It's worth every penny and our guest had an amazing time. They played every thing from 70's to country. They definitely exceeded our expectations and we are forever grateful that we were able to have them play at our wedding.

LOVE doesn't even begin to describe how much I enjoyed this band! I would highly recommend them to anyone. I first discovered them at my friends wedding, and immediately knew I wanted them to play in my wedding. They took the time to get to know our song interests and get to know us personally. We NEVER had an empty dance floor from the beginning to the end. They even helped create a fun remix for the father/daughter dance. I am hard to please and they went above and beyond. My bride and I never heard them live before the wedding so leading up to the date we were a little nervous, but once we heard the first song we knew we made the best choice possible. I had countless amount of people who attended the wedding come up to me afterwards and say that was the greatest wedding band they have ever heard. We LOVED Johnny Earthquake! My husband's main goal for our wedding was an awesome band, and man did we find that (and more)! We booked them without hearing them, just based on reviews. Adam was very communicative and responsive. On the day of, they got the party started from the very beginning!They even had our first dance, father/daughter, and mother/son dances to play. They played a variety of music, including county and Louisiana favorites for our mix of Texas and Louisiana families. You will not regret hiring Johnny Earthquake and the Moondogs! If you're looking to host the wedding of a lifetime - BOOK THIS BAND! I'm from New York and my husband is from Louisiana. We were married this past weekend in Shreveport. I knew nothing about any of the Louisiana vendors but knew from the second I spoke to Adam that booking Johnny Earthquake and the Moondogs was the right decision. Adam helped me carefully select amazing songs to keep our guests on the dance floor ALL NIGHT! From their first chord to their last of the evening, Johnny Earthquake and the Moondogs played their hearts out! The vocals were on point and every instrument played with soul and true talent. Our guests have been raving about the band nonstop and commenting that we threw a wedding/concert complete with a Second Line and every possible genre of music you can think of! Rating this band with only five stars is insulting - they deserve about 105 stars. Thank you Adam and Johnny Earthquake and the Moondogs for an unforgettable event! We love you guys!
