Johnny provided the music for our wedding ceremony at St. Thomas More in Morristown, NJ. It was a pleasure working with him as we planned out our big day, and he had a lot of valuable advice as we sorted out our song selections. On the day of the wedding, the music was beautiful! Johnny made every part of the process easy with his friendly demeanor and knowledge of his craft. We’re very grateful for his help in making our wedding such a special day!

Johnny was amazing. So many guests complemented us on our ceremony music that was both beautiful and unique. Johnny went out of his way to learn multiple songs by my favorite band which he played before and during the ceremony, as well as arranging additional equipment to suit our remote outdoor location. He also went above and beyond to help my mom and wedding planner when we found ourselves unexpectedly rained out and we had to move our ceremony indoors, just to realize our caterer had reorganized our reception venue and there was no place to hold the ceremony! Johnny helped set up the aisle runner and found electrical cords that could reach to our new ceremony location-- he was just amazing and we can not thank him enough for everything he did for us.

We had such a great time working with Johnny. He is a terrific communicator throughout the planning process and so willing to accommodate special requests. His talents speak for themselves. His music added warmth and fun to our wedding day. Highly recommended!

Johnny was fantastic at our September wedding. He played ukulele and sand for our outdoor ceremony and played keyboard and sang for our indoor cocktail hour. We were so pleased with Johnny and his music. We had hired a DJ for the reception but still wanted our wedding to have a touch of live music. We only had to listen to one of his songs for about 30 secs before we said we had to have him. Johnny was professional and he is extremely talented. All of guest talked non-stop about how great he was. Some of our guest even took his information to save for their future weddings. We were very pleased with our whole experience with Johnny and would highly recommend him to anyone for any event.

There are no words to express how happy and grateful we are that Johnny was part of our wedding day. IF YOU READ NO OTHER REVIEW - PLEASE READ THIS ONE!!!! The ending is the most important part! From the beginning, Johnny was unbelievably accommodating and friendly, and we knew off the bat we could trust him. We weren't necessarily looking for a ukuleleist, but Johnny's rendition of "Book of Love" had us hooked and we knew he was the right fit. From our first call, he made us extremely comfortable, and went above and beyond - he learned songs that were special to us, set us up with a violinist for the prelude and ceremony, and sent us an entire set list so we could put them on our DJ's "Do Not Play" list for the reception. On the wedding day, he arrived early and was professional and friendly to all. Needless to say, his performance was flawless. Having live music made a huge impact on the ceremony, and he played the songs that were special to us perfectly. He is a VERY talented musician, and we received a ton of compliments about his performance! Perhaps most importantly, his rendition of The Luckiest (which I walked down the aisle to after he plated Book of Love for the processional) was beautiful and made my now-husband cry! All of that would have been sufficient to warrant a glowing review - but what really matters is that Johnny single-handedly SAVED OUR WEDDING. One of the waitstaff at our venue (which itself is top-notch and also handled this situation well) was trying to steal gifts that our guests had left in our card box. Johnny saw the man in the act of stealing when Johnny was loading his car after the cocktail hour, and the man immediately ran to hide -- Johnny didn't just let the man go, but chased and confronted him, demanded he return the cards, and immediately reported him to the venue. Johnny is a true gentleman, with a strong character and integrity. Beyond the money he saved us, the emotional impact was huge - Johnny turned what could have been a terrible situation into a positive one: instead of feeling violated by the waiter's theft, we feel immense gratitude towards Johnny and are reminded the good people do exist. We are "the luckiest" to have had him be part of our wedding day. No need to keep looking - HIRE JOHNNY TODAY!!!!!!!

From start to finish, Johnny was incredibly professional, accommodating, and cooperative in helping put together ceremony and cocktail hour music, (he even took some last minute requests!). He is very talented and a pleasure to work with! Would 100% recommend Johnny for any event.

Bob and I would just like to thank you again for making our wedding so perfect! The music we selected, you performed beautifully! You arrived at the ceremony venue early, entertained our guests, and packed up everything to beat us to the reception, Where you had once again set up to entertain our guests before they had even arrived! So many of our guests commented on how much they enjoyed the music at our wedding. And how much they all enjoyed your ukulele rendition of "somewhere over the rainbow "! When we heard Johnny’s clips + saw his videos, we instantly fell in love with his laid-back, authentic style of performing + connecting with the guests. Johnny has a beautiful voice + an amazing range of styles. His passion for performing shines through + we feel grateful he was able to share his positive energy with us. From the moment we reached out, Johnny was super responsive + easy to work with from the moment we connected through our ceremony. Russ + I met Johnny at a studio in Manhattan so he could play through options for us to choose from. It was super helpful to hear the songs live – piano + uke! Johnny also asked us for new song recommendations --- and learned them. At Johnny’s suggestion, we invite 4 guests to join in a “jam session” right before the processional. Johnny had extra hand drums + tambourines on-site for them to use. It livened up the moment + gave us the chance to incorporate our friends / family into our celebration. We would HIGHLY recommend Johnny for any festive + fun occasion.

We had our wedding ceremony on the beach and thought a ukulele would be perfect for the vibe we were going for. Johnny was great right from the start! He answered my many, many questions, took the time to record and send me sample tracks, and was friendly and professional every step of the way. In all the craziness of the big day, I only wish I had gotten to listen to him perform more!

Johnny was awesome! We can't even put into words how amazing he was! He performed our ceremony, cocktail and first dance song. We follow his work and knew he was going to be amazing. But to say he was going to exceeded our expectations is an understatement! He was always very responsive with emails and always so accommodating with requests. He also sent us an example of our first dance song on the uke! We highly highly highly recommend Johnny, in fact, we can't wait to use him again for a party!!!

Johnny was excellent! From the initial contact to the day of the wedding he was fantastic. He sent me recorded samples of the song we wanted for our ceremony the day I asked if he would sing it and even let us choose specific songs for our cocktail hour. From the ceremony to the cocktail hour, Johnny was spot on. Both is voice and playing of the ukulele and piano are so beautiful. I would highly recommend Johnny for your wedding or event!

Johnny provided us with terrific uke music during and before our ceremony! He was very courteous and responsive, and especially helpful getting us started in thinking about the specific songs we wanted. He also setup a keyboard and played during our cocktail hour after the ceremony. The ceremony and cocktail hour were not in the same place (maybe a 100 yards apart), but Johnny had no problem getting everything setup beforehand and was already in a groove by the time we finally made it over to the reception. We wouldn't hesitate to recommend him!

Johnny was incredibly accommodating and professional. We chose to use non-traditional throwback pop music for our processional and recessional with major modifications. Johnny was happy to work with us and together we came up with fantastic arrangements. We couldn't have been happier!!

Johnny Herbert learned how to play "Bohemian Rhapsody" for our reception and played it like a pro! His ukulele performance during our ceremony was beautiful and sweet. Our guests loved him! Johnny was amazing! Such talent! From the moment we contacted him and throughout the experience it was always pleasant, professional and courteous. He learned new songs that were requested by my daughter for the wedding. He also played a couple of Disney tunes on piano during our cocktail hour as he noted some "fairytale, Disney" moments during the ceremony. We can't thank him enough for creating the ambiance we were looking for. All I can say to someone thinking about hiring him is please do, you won't be sorry!!

John Herbert was absolutely wonderful to work with! He was extremely responsive, both through phone and e-mail. His traditional and non-traditional music choices were very good, and my husband and I enjoyed selecting the music for our ceremony with John. He's extremely knowledge and a very talented musician! Johnny was a fantastic choice for our wedding ceremony music. My husband and I knew we did not want to go with the very traditional, stuffy, and expensive harpist/violinst/trio option. We also knew we didn't want the DJ playing a pre-made track booming from speakers for our ceremony. I was so happy to find Johnny to play our ceremony music! He added a personal, warm, and unique element to our ceremony. He worked with my husband and I to come up with an amazing playlist, and even learned new songs for us! He played Somewhere Over the Rainbow when our small nieces and nephews walked down the aisle and everyone was in tears! For those of you looking for a unique music option to really add a personal touch- definitely book Johnny!

Johnny was so helpful when planning the music for my wedding. He helped my husband and I choose the songs that we were going to play and he took into account out styles of music. We gave Johnny a complicated set of requests: perform 3 songs (singing, guitar, ukulele), but accompanied by different groups of family/friends who could only meet the wedding weekend. We needed him to arrange the songs and coordinate the rehearsals around the other wedding events. We knew it was a lot to ask. But Johnny’s modest confidence and professionalism earned him the respect of those we asked to perform with him, meant that the performers loved rehearsing, and gave us an end result that was so much better than we expected. Johnny is a talented musician and arranger, and a strong leader. We are truly indebted to him for making our somewhat crazy musical vision come to life. We can't recommend highly enough.

Our ceremony music was BEAUTIFUL! John has quite a talent on the piano and brought me to tears of joy during our first meeting when he played the song I chose for the bridal processional (Marry Me, by Train). Just stunning. John is also professional, helpful and responsive - he met with with us several times to help us choose the most perfect songs for our wedding. He was quick to reply to emails and also spent time going over the details of the ceremony, which helped put our minds at ease before attending the rehearsal. We are truly thankful that whenever we watch our wedding video we can enjoy such breathtaking music. Thank you, John, for a job well done!
