Erin and Laura from Jolie Day Spa were hands down the most professional, talented hair stylists and makeup artists I could have ever imagined for my special day. The owners, Shawn, and Laura were a pleasure to work with. Shawn handled all the communication and appointments for the trial. Their prices are reasonable, and their work is outstanding. Erin was my hairstylist and she made me feel so relaxed and comfortable (I was a very nervous bride!) My hair is extremely difficult to curl, but Erin worked her charm and my hair stayed curled the entire day and evening. I was so shocked by the result because I’ve had it curled many times before by other stylists at different salons, and it would fall immediately once I left the salon. She gave me the most beautiful up do! They nailed exactly what my vision was and made me feel like such a queen all day! Both Erin and Laura were extremely prompt and friendly- all of my bridesmaids were obsessed with their hair and makeup. Erin is truly an angel. On top of the incredible work, she did, she is just such an incredibly calming person to have around. Her kindness, knowledge and professionalism made for an amazing experience. Both are so talented and kind. Extremely accommodating and just an overall joy to work with! I HIGHLY recommend their services; you will not be disappointed!
I would never work with Jolie Day Spa again. I went in for a hair and makeup trial before my wedding and the makeup artist (I think she is also the owner) was so rude. I wanted very natural makeup for my wedding and she insisted on going very heavy because as she told me "You will look washed out in your pictures. I doesn't matter to me but you have to look at these pictures forever". She just kept making comments like that the entire time making me feel bad about myself. On the business side of things, the owner is very unorganized. He would schedule a call and then never call me and acted like it was my fault. I tried to reschedule and decided I would call him this time but he didn't pick up. I also would send emails frequently trying to get information from them about invoices and day of schedule but he rarely answered my emails. When he did answer he never answered all my questions. The only saving grace was that the hair dresser was so kind. She was talking to all the bridal party and engaging with us while the makeup artist barely said a word to any of us. The hair dresser is the only reason I gave them two stars. Save yourself some stress and go with somewhere else.
I had 8 ladies needing nails and toes done for my wedding day. They were very nice in fitting us in on a Friday morning. And did a wonderful job of it to. My nail looks great and are holding up wonderfully. We had an awesome time hanging out while the other finished up. Thanks for all your help with my special day.
Nicole and her staff really helped to make me feel and look like a movie star on my special day. As an older bride, I had trepidation about hair and makeup for an outdoor wedding. During my consultation and on the actual day, Nicole’s calm demeanor and expertise helped alleviate my fears. She did hair and makeup onsite for myself and my bridal party. We loved her personality and it made what could have been a stressful day very sweet and fun. I felt that she understood what look I was going for and was able to enhance my look beyond what I could have imagined. She was extremely professional and intuitive.
Nicole did an amazing job on my wedding day makeup. I looked absolutely amazing but most importantly I still looked like myself. She didn't over use any make-up which was important to me. She also did a great job on my bridesmaids. They looked beautiful standing by my side on my special day.
My bridal party and I got our nails done the day before my wedding and got our hair and makeup done the day of my wedding. The staff was very friendly and accommodating throughout the entire weekend. We had lunch the day of there and we were able to just relax and have a good time! It was a very pleasant experience!
I had an absolutely horrible and extremely stressful experience at Jolie Day Spa. My bridesmaids and I booked a day at the spa the afternoon before my wedding, so we could get our nails done, spend some quality time together, and do some relaxing before the rehearsal that evening. For some reason, I was placed with a very inexperienced nail technician who ended up literally taking chunks out of my nails. I had come in with an SNS manicure, which she promptly began sanding off with the dremel tool rather than soaking in acetone. (I researched it later and discovered this can be done prior to soaking in acetone, but ONLY the top clear layer should be removed. NOT the colored layers.) I had never had this done before, but had only had 2 other SNS manicures before, so I figured maybe this was just a different way of doing things at this salon. The experience was quite painful. She even burned off part of my skin on several fingers (including my ring finger!) I was practically in tears. I finally told her she needed to stop and use acetone instead. She struggled to even file my nails properly. They were jagged and uneven, and I ended up having to file them myself! She proceeded with the SNS manicure without properly getting off all the original product, and now that my nails were clearly uneven and scraped to hell, it made it impossible to do an even coating. She then seemed panicked, never asked for assistance, and just said she would put gel on top of it to try to cover it up and even it out. The owner came over at one point and asked her what she was doing, because she clearly had not applied the proper polish to go on top of gel. I will say, the only saving grace about this whole experience was the owner. She said she would fix them, and also did a beautiful job on my pedicure. She also did not charge me for my manicure. What I absolutely cannot believe is how Jolie Day Spa did not consider the fact that a BRIDAL PARTY was coming in (this had been scheduled for MONTHS) and make sure their best nail techs were working that day. You know when you're doing nails for a bride, she is going to have lots of close up photographs. It blows my mind that they would put a bride with someone as inexperienced as they did. She didn't just give me a crappy manicure. That's understandable. It happens. She DAMAGED my nails. I still have tenderness under my nails a week and a half later. They are uneven, scraped up, and discolored. I will never visit this spa again.
On the whole, a very good salon for hair and makeup.
Pros: The staff were all super nice and easy to work with. The salon has a really nice atmosphere and is super centrally located, right off the main square (this was helpful because we got married at the Catholic Church just across the street). Anna Claire did my hair and makeup and was excellent. She somehow managed to make my hair look incredible - AND IT STAYED, which is saying something because it rained (poured) the entire day of the wedding. She's also really good with makeup, especially eyes.
Cons: The salon had originally assured us that we could bring in our own beverages and that they could procure Chickfila for us while we were getting ready (something I really wanted). A week before the wedding, we were told that they couldn't actually get Chickfila and we had to choose from their catering menu. It was delicious food, but not what I had my heart set on! One of the reasons we decided to go with the salon in the first place was because of this, so it was a disappointment. They did let us bring in our own beverages, which was greatly appreciated (and the cheese grits were a huge hit). They also pretty dramatically underestimated the amount of time it would take for everyone to get their hair and makeup done, which resulted in the wedding party running about an hour late - not a huge problem as we had some buffer time built in just in case, but we used it all up - and then some.
Everything turned out well though and the cons were relatively small things in the scope of the day. If I were to do it again, I'd still choose Jolie! But maybe get there earlier and set my food expectations differently to begin with :)
The team at Jolie did a great job!! We rented out the whole salon and had a breakfast and mimosa bar to help kick off celebrations. My hair and my bridesmaids hair looked great!
I had eyelash extensions done three days before my wedding, and then my bridesmaids and I had our hair done at Jolie on the big day. I just love this salon! The eyelashes looked so natural and absolutely beautiful. I will say to any bride considering doing them: they are a bit uncomfortable. They irritated my eyes even as I sat up on the altar! I think I should have done them a bit earlier and given myself more time to get used to the sensation, but I also do have sensitive eyes. Just something to know! Anyway, the hair styling was perfect. I wanted romantic loose curls on everyone, and they gave us just that. Highly recommend for a Dahlonega wedding!
My family and bridesmaids had a great time getting ready at Jolie's before my wedding! For an added price, they provided a wonderful lunch for us and allowed us to bring our own beverages. All of my bridesmaid's hair, as well as my hair stayed perfect throughout the day! I would recommend Jolie for future brides!
So glad I decided to use Jolie Day Spa for my wedding day. My bridesmaids and I had our hair done there for the big day and we all loved the results! This was a far more cost effective option for us than having someone onsite to do our hair. Definitely give them a call and a try--you'll be very happy with the results!
I was so happy that I found the Jolie Day Spa for my wedding - they did a great job and made me and my bridesmaids look lovely!!
I got married near Dahlonega and planned to hire someone from Atlanta to come up for hair and makeup. Ultimately, I found the Jolie Day Spa and thought it was so much more convenient to do hair and makeup there. I am so glad I made that choice! The folks there were really nice to work with and were really flexible with me as I tried to figure out who exactly in my bridal party (and family) wanted hair and makeup done.
On the wedding day, we could bring in food and drinks while we primped. The stylists were friendly and warm. I also really liked the products they used - I got fake eyelashes that were very subtle and looked real, and amazing. They styled the extensions I brought in so that you couldn't tell what was real hair or extensions. Their services were very affordable and they did a great job. I got the whole bridal package, with a mani-pedi included. It was really convenient and comfortable to do everything at the spa, and I was very happy with their work!
I called Jolie Day Spa, signed up for my wedding date, even gave Jessie my credit card and waited to hear back. Two weeks later, I decided to see what the hold up was, I called 4 days in a row before someone told me that Jessie had moved to Texas. They had no record of my wedding on file. So I started over. I went in for my trial 3 weeks before my wedding. Jolie's does a lot of offsite events and will get stylists from other salons. I found out my stylist does not work at Jolie's, which definitely threw me off. First we tried half up, half down. It was ok, but I asked for no poof. Then I asked if she could change it to an up-do because I might like that better. She did, but didn't take the first poof out and the back was not at all what I imagined. So we tried a different style, after I showed her pictures of what I wanted. This style was ok. I could live with it. But she didn't style it so it would last all day, as a trial. Just kinda left the curls limp from the up-do. Then we moved on to makeup. I asked for soft and natural. I felt so ridiculous when I left, I looked like a clown. There was a bridal party there who all looked gorgeous and I felt so hideous. The blush was right on my cheeks, not subtle or applied correctly. The shadow was way up on my brow bone and I had to appy the mascara myself but it was already clumpy and ruined. I did not feel like a gorgeous bride. The owner called me after I called to complain and offered to have the same stylist do a different makeup run. No thank you, I cancelled my contract and they didn't offer a refund. It's one thing if everything turned out gorgeous and I just changed my mind, but they didn't have enough stylists to cover my event and brought in someone from the outside without telling me. I would not recommend this salon to brides who are already stressed out, this place will bring the tears!
I had a Sunday wedding and there were able to be there on a Sunday. Everyone was nice and they made my hair just right for my special day. It looked like the picture I showed them.
