Jonathan is the BEST! He was very professional and listened carefully to all our wants and needs for our wedding photos. He gave great recommendations to ensure that we get the best photos possible and some really neat and artsy photos. A true knowledgeable and experienced photographer. The best we have ever worked with. He was also very kind, friendly, and a cool person to chat and work with. Had some great conversations throughout the pre-wedding process and on the wedding day. Jonathan sent three sneak peak photos about an hour after hour wedding ended and we are amazed with the photo quality and the moments he captured. We can’t wait to see the rest when he finishes up his work and sends them over. The fact that my husband and I feel so happy and are in love with sneak peak photos is huge because we are self conscious on how we look and usually hate being photographed. Shout out to Jonathan for making us see that we look great and regaining our self confidence in our appearance back. It was great having him capture our special day and wonderful to work with! I don't know that I have adequate words to describe how pleased I am that I hired Jon for my wedding photography. Even now, months later, my guests still talk about how fantastic he was during the event. We had a 4 day wedding and Jon shot over 25 hours for us. Our weekend was jammed packed with chaos and activity, he didn't hesitate once to jump in the action. He was able to perfectly capture us and our community of humans in ways I didn't know were possible. The images are absolutely stunning and we could not be happier with his work. I cannot begin to express how fantastic Jon was on our wedding day. Even from the first time I spoke with him, he was very quick to respond, whether that be by phone, text or email. He took amazing pictures of my kids being kids and was fantastic interacting with them. He made us all feel really comfortable. My husband and I are not ones to really enjoy having our pictures taken, so we expressed how we wanted more candid than posed. Not only did he honor that (posed was quick and painless) but he managed to make the posed pictures seem candid. The pictures from the day turned out stunning and I received a ton of compliments. Jon was absolutely fantastic from start to finish. He was so flexible and understanding when we had to cancel our first date because of COVID, then coached us through when we planned to just have a city hall wedding and have him snap a few pics. We were just going to do something quick and he gave us guidance and recommendations on making it more memorable and making a day of it, which was so hugely appreciated and he was 100% right. Then when we decided last minute to reschedule the actual wedding in only 2 months, Jon pivoted with us once again. He has such an eye for capturing the emotion of important moments - the pictures he takes really do say a thousand words. He was so easy going and helped me not stress - he was easy to talk to and instantly made us feel at ease and like we were in good hands, which we were. Absolutely recommend Jon - can't say enough good things about him - zero room for improvement in our eyes. Wouldn't dream of hiring anyone but him to capture our next special milestone.

Jon was amazing! From our pre wedding phone call to our post wedding sneak peaks we could not have been happier! He was extremely professional, very timely, and helped me as a bride no worry about if moments were being captured. Our wedding day was an incredibly humid and hot day in July and Jon was great at facilitating us and our bridal party so that we did not over heat. The pictures we received we incredible, I couldn’t believe how beautiful they turned out. We even got a set of pictures that same night as our sneak peak which we loved and were very impressed by. I would recommend Jon to anyone looking for a wonderful photographer for their wedding!

We spoke to a few different photographers and after we spoke to Jon it was clear we were going to go with him. He has a true passion for photography and weddings. And we are very glad we chose him; he did such an amazing job with our wedding photos. He really let us enjoy our day and still get amazing pictures of the moments with amazing candids, portraits, and some very cool shots in the rain. All in all could not recommend him enough.

We decided on Jonathan after looking at the beautiful work presented on his webpage. After I actually spoke with him on the phone, I felt even more confident in our decision. He was so patient and kind on the phone, explaining how he works and what he looks to achieve in photographing your wedding. Through the whole Covid crisis, he remained in touch with us regularly, and open to whatever changes we needed to make. He was especially patient and kind to me during a few meltdowns I had haha. On the day of the wedding, he showed up for getting ready photos and immediately blended in with the background - he got gorgeous candid shots all while being barely noticeable in the room with us. During the ceremony and reception, I saw him kneeling in mud, crouching behind shrubs, literally doing anything he could to get the best shots, and that he did. At this time he is editing my photo package, but he shared some sneak peaks with me that have brought me and my husband tears of joy. He captured moments so beautiful and timeless, many of which I wasn’t aware of. He’s a kind and patient person, prices things fairly, and above all is seriously talented. Anyone in the surrounding area of Berks and Bucks county should definitely look into his work if looking for a wedding photographer. You will not be disappointed!

Jon is fantastic. He did both our engagement photoshoot and our wedding. We were so pleased with the photos that Jon took as well as his professionalism. My (now) husband and I are not very photogenic or comfortable in front of a camera. Jon made us feel very comfortable and got some incredible shots that we will be sure to cherish for years to come.

Our daughter and now son-in-law hired Jon to do the photos of their wedding. They were very happy with his attention to detail and keeping to their schedule and including the photos they would want included in their memories. It was amazing, a freeing feeling to be able have such trust in a photographer, to know they “had it”, to the point that I could leave my phone and leave my camera behind and just purely enjoy the day in the now without the fear of missing a great shot or capturing a great memory. Incredibly talented photographer! Jon kept us on schedule the day of our wedding so we didn't have to worry about time. I literally picked my wedding date based on Jonathan being the photographer. I wanted amazing photos of our day and found his website. I absolutely adored his style, his unique eye, and the end product. I called him immediately and hired him on the spot. All other vendors were optional, but not Jonathan! Jon made both my wife and I extremely comfortable during our engagement photo session as well as our wedding, which says a lot, because neither of us are typically big fans of getting our pictures taken. My wife and I are very happy that we chose Jon to be our photographer for our wedding! He was recommended to us by a friend and when we saw all of his great reviews/comments online (along with his respectable pricing packages) we knew we found our fit. We met with Jon to do our engagement photo session and he was immediately so easy to get along with and made the who photoshoot situation comfortable for us. Jon always kept in contact with us and answered all of our questions very quickly. He was extremely flexible with our schedule and ideas for the wedding and gave us tips on what typically works best for his clients. On the day of our wedding, Jon arrived earlier than we expected which was very relieving. Jon was so calm and collected throughout the day and never rushed us. It was extremely hot outside so he planned his shots beforehand and made sure that we completed our bridal party and family photos as soon as possible so we could enjoy the cocktail hour and some AC. Although it took some time to get all of our pictures in the mail, Jon posted a collection online within a few days which was much appreciated! We absolutely love the pictures that he took, especially with his unique touch of lighting and angles. We definitely recommend using Jon, you will not be disappointed!

Jon shot my niece’s wedding and he couldn’t have captured a late summer’s day at an elegant estate better. The pictures range from candids to well-arranged group and couple poses. Jon shines in all areas, but especially in catching that moment in time that you never want to let go of. There are photographers that take pictures you look at and enjoy. There are also ones that make you feel like you are part of it. His artistry and fresh point of view captured her day from beginning to end. One of my favorites was a quiet moment on grand veranda where she was lost in thought reading a private letter. I always wonder what was going in her mind. I can’t say enough for his professionalism. You want the pictures but you want them in an unobtrusive manner. Jon was everywhere and nowhere all at once as he wove a story. The pictures tell that story and you want to read it again and again. Let me start off by saying Jonathan Pretz is the best! He was the photographer for our wedding on September 8th. We decided to do a package that included engagement photos as well and that was the first time we met Jon. In all of our interactions he was timely, professional, and boy does he know his stuff. We couldn’t be happier with our photos from both occasions. My husband isn’t a huge fan of having his photo taken and Jon immediately put him at ease and we just all chatted and took photos and had a lot of fun doing it. Jon was fantastic during our wedding and went above and beyond for us with flexibility and going with the flow. Jon was absolutely amazing to work with! He photographed my brother’s wedding and as soon as I saw their pictures I knew I wanted him to photograph ours. He is so laid back and easy to work with. Where to start? Jon photographed our engagement and wedding - a fusion Indian American event that included a Sangeet, Christian wedding, and multicultural reception. I booked Jon for our Philly wedding a few years after he did my best friends wedding. I loved her photos so much I never even looked for another vendor. Jon and Lauren were such a pleasure to work with on our wedding day. They were fun and laid back and were a genuine pleasure to have with us on our wedding day. 99% of the time I didn't even realize they were so laid back and fun. I think that's why the photos are so amazing, you feel so comfortable during the whole process. I was dreading wedding photos because I am not into taking photos but he made it so easy and fun and quick! The photos are AMAZING and breathtaking, Jon has such a beautiful and modern style. Amazing work! That really describes Jon Athans Photography. I found Jon through a friend as a referral. I went to his webpage and immediately loved what I saw. His use of color and silhouettes is what resonated with me. I spoke with Jon and told him my honest budget for a destination wedding. He was able to work within my budget and give me two shooters – which was a key element for me. Not only did they photograph our wedding but also photographed the whole weekend, which included engagement photos, snorkeling (underwater pictures included), pre-wedding dinner, reception, lighting sky lanterns and a trash the dress session in the beautiful waters of Turks and Caicos. Having Jon and his wife travel and spend so much time with us, they felt like part of the family! Working with Jon was a great experience! He is very friendly and personable which makes him a pleasure to work with. It is so nice to know exactly who will be shooting your big day, unlike the larger photography companies where you may not be certain on which photographer you'll be working with. We got married on April 9th and had both snow and rain on our wedding day. The roads were miserable to drive on, yet Jon still arrived right on time and ready to start shooting. We didn't even notice he was taking pictures most of the time which was great because we felt completely comfortable. His work speaks for itself and it is clear how talented and creative he is by looking at his website. His use of lighting and texture is amazing in his photos. I highly recommend Jon if you're looking for a photographer!

After seeing Jon in action at our friends' wedding, and after seeing their wedding photos, we knew we wanted him to shoot ours, as well. As we planned our engagement session, he was happy to answer every question we had. He made us feel so comfortable, as we were not accustomed to posing for professional photos. Leading up to our wedding day, Jon was in constant communication to help us plan our timeline and to make sure we knew that he had everything under control. We could not have asked for a better photographer for our wedding day. He was attentive, but not at all pushy. Jon made sure to capture the shots we wanted, but also made sure to get those unplanned photos that he is so well know for. We are so pleased with the photos from our wedding, and the day seemed even more beautiful through his lens!

Jon shot our wedding in late September and we couldn't have been happier with his services. His presence is a welcome calm on such a hectic day. We instantly felt comfortable with him and we are very happy with the photos we've seen so far (he has a blog post up with 25 or so pictures within a couple days of the wedding). We are dying to see the rest! His prices are also really reasonable. I would definitely recommend him to any future brides. Not only am I happy that we hired him as our photographer, I can also say I'm glad we made a new friend in Jon!

During our photographer search, we wanted to find a talented guy/gal with a lower price than many of the Philadelphia photographers, who came highly recommended, but with a price tag of $4000-$5000. We loved the photos on Jon’s site and after talking with him, we were confident that he would be fun and very competent on our wedding day. Unfortunately, this is probably the one vendor we would do differently if we had to do it again. We do think Jon is very talented, and if you are from his area, I can’t say that we wouldn’t recommend him. I hope some of our experience will help other couples ask for the photography experience they want. Overall, we have plenty of good photos to make an album and to have in our home. Jon is very talented, but it’s really in the photos where he has time to create and stage an artistic shot where his talent shines. Our candids, portraits, and ceremony photos are underwhelming. There are many shots that we wish had in retrospect, mainly candids of us with our family and friends during cocktail hour. If you are someone who wants a plan and a schedule for your wedding day, I would not recommend working with Jon. We tried 2 months before the wedding and then again 2 weeks before the wedding to create a plan for taking first look, bridal party, and family photos, and Jon was not much help. He kept saying that he can work with 15 minutes or 2 hours. While I appreciate the flexibility, we were trying to create the ideal scenario for our day. When we initially spoke, Jon said he knew the city well having lived and gone to school there. There were photos from Philadelphia on his site, but following his blog this year, it really doesn’t look like he shoots many weddings there and it showed when we tried to take photos outside near city hall and Love Park. He also said that he would help set up first look and family photos in our hotel and scout locations in the hotel ahead of time. This really didn’t happen, and our first look photos don’t look that great compared to many on the blog. Our family portraits and ceremony portraits are just okay, and a lot of the standard shots, like each person coming down the aisle, are either not great or missing. We did not have a wedding planner or day of coordinator, and I wish we had one when working with Jon. I had to dictate where we went for all photos and what shots we wanted on the day of. It was very stressful and our photo session was not much fun for me. I don’t know what is standard, but it took us 3 months to get 600 photos from 7 hours of shooting. There were several photos posted to his blog and Facebook within a few days of the wedding, which was great. However, these photos may have set our expectations too high as they were all amazing. When we received the final package, we were disappointed and felt that the best photos were put online 3 months earlier. As I said, we have some beautiful photos and will have wonderful albums. Overall, however, our experience was just okay.

If you have the opportunity to work with Jon consider yourself lucky! Jon is extremely talented, easy going and he has the abilty to capture emotion within each photo. There is a lot of stress with wedding planning and it was a huge relief to have a photographer that did not contribute to one bit of stress during the wedding planning and more importantly on our wedding day . He was an absolute pleasure to work with and my husband and I are thrilled with our wedding photos.

I love his work!!!!!!! I loved working with Jon- we was so kind and easy going. He helped me and my husband be more comfortable with our engagement photos and also with our wedding. Jon captures the most perfect moments and he does an amazing job and photographing your day and showing your story while barely even letting you know he's there. Aside from a few traditional shots, Jon was a "fly on the wall" and captured some of the most beautiful moments. Within days we had a teaser with several pictures from our wedding and we had tears in our eyes. Jon and Lauren were absolutely amazing with everything on our wedding day- especially handling a wedding party of 26! Thank you Jon for everything!

Jon is an absolutely amazing photographer! Being into photography myself, I was able to appreciate the skill and talent that goes into each and every one of his photographs. Not only are his pictures amazing, but so is his demeanor! He worked with us every step of the way to ensure that we got all the pictures that we wanted and that we took a step back to actually ENJOY our wedding day. (He even showed me how to cut the wedding cake!) As Jon will tell you, he is your photographer, but he is also there for any other odds and ends that you might need help with during the day. At the end of the day, people normally rave about the food at the wedding or maybe even the DJ... all of my guests were raving about Jon and his photographic style. All of his pictures have a "wow" factor that you won't find with any other traditional wedding photographer, especially for the price. We highly recommend Jon!
