Jon Pivko is the best wedding photographer in the tri-state area. I was lucky enough to find him on the knot and fell in love with his crisp photography style. I was not the easiest bride to work with - a bit neurotic at times but Jon always stayed calm and made sure that my husband and I were always comfortable in the pre-wedding process and during the wedding itself. He sent us 12 photos the day after my wedding so we could post on social media - thats a lot of photos!! fully edited too. They were all gorgeous. I could not have asked for a better photography team. He was kind and gentle with me and my bridal party all day & the pictures all came out stunning because everyone was so relaxed in his capable hands. His pricing is very reasonable - I hired him, a secondary photographer and a videographer for under 5k total. Book fast because he is a rising star! His team didn't miss a beat - they caught all of the beautiful moments throughout the day but they never got in the way or felt like a nuisance. I cannot recommend Pivko Photography enough - check out his website!! His work speaks for itself - the crisp and colorful pictures will make your wedding album a huge success. All of my guests were in awe of how stunning the photos came out from my wedding and how quickly I got them back. All we can say is: amazing! We fell in love with Jon's work the second we met with him, and his personality and calm demeanor simply fit with ours. We chose to do an engagement shoot and knew right off the bat our decision to bring on the Pivko team for our wedding was the best we'd made. If you're looking for a photographer - he's your guy! Jon keeps the energy up, but natural. His team on the day of our wedding (photo and video) were all so professional and truly FUN. We loved having them as extra people to share our wedding day with. Pivko Photography provides an all-around wonderful experience. The first thing that drew me in with Jon was his quick response to email. This was really important because I felt like a priority—and who doesn’t want to feel like a priority when planning their wedding? After our first phone meeting I knew he would be our photographer. He was confident, professional and able to provide a sense of ease and calming to the situation. Being a great guy most definitely helped, but the most important piece was his impeccable eye! He is super creative and loves to take risks that pay off with excellent pictures. He makes sure you are having fun and creates an awesome energy to keep the photo shoot moving. I can't say enough wonderful things about Jon Pivko and the tremendous work that he did for my husband and I at our wedding. We booked Jon for both an engagement shoot and full 11-hour day at our wedding. At our engagement shoot, Jon was so kind, funny, and professional. We felt so nervous about posing, but Jon was a blast to be with, and put us at ease immediately. He has an amazing knack for making his clients comfortable, and has an incredible, artistic eye for beautiful settings and shots. We were absolutely over-the-moon about our engagement photos- and I really can't stress that enough - they are GORGEOUS! One of the things that drew us to Pivko Photography was the journalistic, candid, and artistic sensibility that Jon has as a photographer. Jon drove out-of-state for our wedding, and agreed to be there for the entire day. His professionalism and dedication to his work was apparent from the moment he arrived with his assistant. Jon Pivko photographed our wedding in October and it was an awesome experience. We had a full consultation to learn exactly what we wanted and on our day he delivered. He was extremely professional and was a great addition to our wedding. We had so many guests complimenting his work throughout the day and even more amazed when we got the pictures back. Wedding planning is very stressful, so to have someone come in and be helpful instead of more stress, is a blessing. If you have the opportunity - work with him!!

Jon was absolutely amazing! We are incredibly happy with his service and our wedding photos! When I️ first spoke with Jon I️ knew it was a good fit when he started to nerd out. I️ was concerned about the lighting at our venue and he started going off about words I️ didn’t quite understand, but I️ knew he was passionate which was perfect. Even before anyone saw a picture, we got tons of compliments on him. During our wedding, he seemed to be everywhere! Every time someone tried to take an iPhone photo, he was there to get a better version. We didn’t have too many requests for photos. We just wanted candid coverage of the day and I’m so glad we didn’t put any restrictions on him and trusted his eye. I️ did have one photo request and that picture turned out amazing! While it took a bit to get our photos, it was well worth the wait. We can not recommend him enough! Hiring him for our wedding was one of the best decisions!

Where do I start... Having a quality photographer is one of the most important vendors for your wedding. I found Jon through the Knot along with about 15 other photographers I was considering... I wanted to make sure I was getting the best photographer in our price range so I did lots of research! Jon fit the style I was looking for and the budget. He was the second photographer my fiancé and I met with (out of our long list). As soon as we saw his work and got the chance to talk with him, we knew we had found our photographer and scrapped the rest off our list! I can't say enough good things about Jon. We just had our engagement shoot and we had so much fun. Mind you, we were both kind of on edge because we thought it would be this weird/awkward process... not at all. Jon made us feel so comfortable, like we were hanging out with a friend (seriously Jon, change your name to "Not Awkward Photography" like we discussed). We were always talking, cracking up and having such a good time that time flew by. After the engagement session, my fiancé and I couldn't stop talking about it. We haven't seen our engagement pictures yet (dying to!) but that's how much we trust him. Jon has such amazing talent to capture beautiful moments and I have no doubt that our pictures are going to come out wonderful. And for the price point? Look no where else. He should be charging so much more for his work and I am thrilled we were able to find such an amazing photographer in our budget, because this was very important to us. I've heard some horror stories where people decided to cheap it out and ended up having horrible photos of their wedding day, or where their photographer was rude and literally yelling and giving guests/bridal party attitudes... You will not get this with Jon. He really is just a great guy. Trust me, book him...you will not regret it.

We knew the moment we met Jon that we would chose Pivko as our photographer. His professional but relaxed nature was a perfect fit for our personalities. His photography speaks for itself. On our first meeting he showed us some of his work and his use of light and capturing non-staged moments really highlighted what we were looking for. He also made it very comfortable to take photos in what could be an awkward situation. He captured our engagement photos at the same location we were engaged 2 years prior and when it came to our wedding day he found all the iconic spots in Brooklyn we wanted to take pictures. We would high recommend!

Where do I begin? Jon Pivko & his crew were AMAZING! I personally don't have the patience to take a lot of pictures and he made the process as painless as possible! Also, my family can sometimes be difficult to handle but he was kind, courteous and respectful and got everyones attention without a problem. He made my wedding day go so so smoothly! I HIGHLY suggest the photo booth- it was a huge hit with my friends and family and they were all able to email the pictures and get it on social media/ online, etc. He is also INCREDIBLY talented. The pictures from the wedding came out amazing and captured our personality/ emotions perfectly and never felt staged. I.could.not.recommend.him.enough!

I could not have chosen a better photographer! Jon made my husband and I feel so extremely comfortable all throughout the process & especially the day of our wedding. He was attentive, down to Earth, and most importantly, he was creative and has a great eye for catching the best shots. He was extremely professional, reliable, prompt and very kind. What to say about Jon (and Kyle and Beth) besides there should be more than just a 5 star option. My (new!) husband and I went through a mini nightmare while searching for our wedding photographer - and Jon came in like a knight on a white horse to save the day. Being in events for last 7 years - I have never experienced services from a vendor the way we did with Jon. From our engagement shoot at 6AM (because he insisted that was the best time for photos as the sun rose), consistent contact in between then and our henna night and then our wedding - we spent a great deal of time with Jon and thoroughly enjoyed every minute of it. He set up a meeting with us the week prior to our wedding in order to go through all "must-have" photos for the day of - and didn't miss a single shot. He went on top of patios and under trees to shooting from literally the ground. He (we think) had a great time shooting our special days and it showed in his demeanor and energy while shooting. He gave us every bit of effort that he had. Normally people wait until after receiving the product before reviewing (we can't wait to see it all!) but we felt it was important to leave this review based on our overall experience of working with Jon and his team. Because as stressful and as hair-pulling of an experience that planning a wedding can be - Jon made it that much less stressful for us and we truly enjoyed every minute of working with him. We are forever grateful that our paths crossed and wish we had more events to throw just so we can work with him again! I/we could go on for days of listing reasons to work with him, the most important thing to note - you will be nothing short of beyond satisfied and happy should you choose Pivko Photography to capture your special day. Jon Pivko is a true artist. From the moment I found his website, I knew I wanted him to photograph our wedding. We booked Jon for engagement and wedding photos, along with a video. Let me tell you - this guy is phenomenal. His ability to capture moments that pass in the blink of an eye is uncanny. His eye for detail, his professionalism, and his awesome personality - you will not regret booking him even for a second. Our venue failed to mention that we could use golf carts for photos, but that didn't stop Jon from sprinting all over the golf course up and down ridiculous hills making sure he got the best shots for us. Booking Jon was hands down the easiest part of the wedding planning process. His video team was also outstanding. It was like they weren't even there! The video they provided to us feels like a produced documentary/movie. Our friends and family were in complete awe, as were we. Looking back at our photos and videos, he truly captured our day perfectly. Thank you so much Jon!

If I could give Jon more than 5 stars I would. He is one of the most genuinely talented, hilarious and enthusiastic people I've ever met. He was a gem throughout the entire process from our ridiculously hot outdoor engagement shoot to our hectic wedding day. It really felt like having a (talented) friend taking our pictures. We trusted him 1000% in everything that he did because we knew he knew what he was talking about. On our wedding day there would be a certain lighting for a picture or a pose that was fun and Jon would get super excited which made us excited! You can tell he has such enthusiasm and passion for what he does. He also did the video for us which we can't wait to see. We waffled back and forth on if we even wanted to do video, but I'm so excited we decided to! There are so many memories from the wedding day I can't wait to play back again and watch. I'll recommend Jon to anyone who'll listen. He was amazing!

After doing a lot of research, I started reaching out to a photographers based on their work they posted on their sites and found that most tried to get you on the phone to speak before they would share their pricing. Jon was transparent with his pricing, and wasn't pushy. I had a feeling that Jon was going to be easy to work with - and I was right. We booked engagement photos with him as well so that we could meet him before our wedding day. After that short session we could tell that we made the right choice. It was actually FUN! For our wedding day, we were going for more candid than posed, and we wanted pictures that looked like us but not so edited that it didn't look natural. He captured our personalities and went above and beyond with everything he promised. Also, we took a chance and hired a young film maker that he works with as part of our package and WOW he exceeded our expectations. It was a short film! We have only the highest recommendation for Pivko Photography. We live in DC but got married in NY so planning from far away was a real challenge. Jon proved to be incredibly responsive from the very first email we sent him. Beyond being captivated by his amazing photos, his quick communication is what solidified our choice in using him for our wedding. Once we said "Yes" to Jon we didn't worry about a thing. We love every picture and feel he captured our personalities, and those of our friends and families, well. He is exceptionally responsive, professional, friendly and an all around nice guy. He will take the time to get to know what you want, what you like, what you are expecting and will execute beautifully!

When I first saw Jon's work online I knew he was perfect for the job. He has a way of perfectly capturing each moment candidly, not an easy thing to do. Jon, aka Pivko Photography, was one of my favorite wedding vendors. He is extremely professional - and even better than that - extremely fun to be around. Our entire wedding party agreed that he was a delight to work with. I honestly will miss having him around. His images are impeccable. He delivers results in a timely fashion and he's reasonably priced. I love the layout of how he displays his photos online. I really selected him based on the quality of his website. It just so happened that his personality ended up being super cool, too. He really does capture the day as it unfolds, and he does a truly excellent job of it. Highly - highly recommend him.

Jon was phenomenal from our very first meet! He listened to all of our requests and made us feel comfortable. Everything that we discussed at our meeting was fulfilled to the best of his capability. During our wedding he not only worked fast but made sure that every detail was captured which is what we wanted to the T. Once we received our pictures we were extremely overwhelmed. The quality and detail of every picture was far beyond what we were expecting. His talent is unquestionable. Friends and family can not stop talking about these images. He's become our favorite photographer and we will forever want him capturing important events in our lives.

We can't say enough good things about Jon as our wedding photographer. He is absolutely the nicest guy and most fabulous photographer. In our pre-wedding meetings he made sure to find out exactly what we were looking for in terms of our photos. In all of our communications he was incredibly prompt and organized. He was such a wonderful addition to the actual wedding day - our family and friends kept coming up to say "we LOVE your wedding photographer!" Our wedding was two months ago and just this weekend my dad and brother were saying what a great guy Jon is. He was fun and friendly, but also made sure he got every single photo we wanted. He was everywhere! We couldn't believe how he maintained such energy the whole day. About two weeks after the wedding we got a preview blog post of our photos which was such a treat. We just received the full gallery - the photos are AMAZING and exactly what we were looking for. Candid and gorgeous and fun - Jon captured literally every single aspect of the day. Every single image is a little treasure. Something I never thought about when choosing a wedding photographer is the manner in which we received our photos. From the layout of our blog post to the method we received our gallery, its organization and the ease with which we were able to download photos - everything about Jon's business is incredibly professional and modern and clean. We can't say enough good things about Jon as a person and a wedding photographer. Honestly if you aren't using Jon, you are missing out.

We owe a million thanks to Jon for making the photography such an easy, enjoyable part of our wedding. Long story short: If you don't want to fret too much about art directing, or planning posed portraits to death, you can absolutely put your day in Jon's hands and be confident that the spontaneous, unexpected, gone-in-a-flash beauty and joy of it all will be captured. TL;DR version: We asked Jon to focus on doing candid shots and just capture the energy of the day, and he ran with it to a delightful degree. I literally cried when I saw the sneaky photos he caught of my grandfather asleep on the porch of the farmhouse where we got married. Grandpa's "snoozers" are a cornerstone joke in my family, and one that we never talked to Jon about. He instinctively knew to capture it--the same way he instinctively shot all of our family and friends at moments when they were their truest selves. It is a true artist's knack to be able to see the natural beauty of people and capture their spirit. I am so grateful that we have everyone that we love encapsulated in this way thanks to Jon. And when it came time for me and my husband to go off on our own private photo shoot (literally my camera-shy nightmare), he was so laid back and accommodating of our style that it was like taking an effortless walk together. And then voila! A few weeks later we had the best photos of us ever taken, by far. He was also a fast friend with our guests throughout the day, weaving seamlessly into the party--never pushy or demanding as I've seen plenty of photographers act at other weddings. We were definitely not the easiest herd of cats to wrangle at the reception, but Jon read the scene and got the shots he needed. Even at the end of the night when he was already staying late just to try and capture some amazing Chinese lantern shots we had mentioned a couple days prior, Jon broke through the wine-filled revelry, identified my maid of honor's fiancé as "the guy who gets s**t done" (which is absolutely correct) and then employed him to bust out the lanterns and call everyone over to light them up, send them off, and end the night with a bang. (My uncle who approached me about tapping a Stella keg 6 minutes before my wedding ceremony could take a tip from Jon RE: You got a problem? Ask anyone but the bride.) In the end we got a generous mix of wide/medium/close shots to put together a great photo story. We're currently having an impossible time whittling down the options for our wedding book. And honestly, I think he could easily be charging 25% more for the quality of his work and the level of service. So get on it while you can! You won't regret it.

My husband and I were very picking about selecting a photographer for our wedding. Wedding is expensive, so of course you want to find the perfect photographer who can beautifully capture your day. We found Jon after going through MANY photographers. We loved Jon’s portfolio on his website and even more when we first met. We loved that his pictures seemed very natural, candid and seamlessly well-documented throughout your wedding day. He is not one of those sappy, overwhelmingly romantic photographers who are all about closing eyes and kissing loll. He knows the right balance between being fun, candid, natural, emotional, and romantic. He exactly understood what we were (and were not) looking for. Honestly, our wedding day went by so fast and I couldn’t’ remember how many and what kinds of pictures were taken. One of my wedding hysteria was that pictures may not come out as fun as I thought I had at my own wedding. ALL WORRIES ASIDE, the pictures were just perfect!! I was tearing up and laughing looking through all the pictures. Too many fun and emotional moments captured that I didn’t and couldn’t even notice. Jon and Max truly documented every single part of our special day. We had so many compliments on our pictures and Jon and Max from our guests. Jon should probably charge way more for the quality he creates!! Thank you!!

There are so many wonderful things to say about Jon. Having beautiful pictures from my wedding day was very important to me and I couldn't be happier that I hired Jon. He took amazing, creative, gorgeous photos throughout the day. He does a great job of capturing little candid moments that are some of my favorite pictures. Jon has a great eye for choosing locations of pictures and specific intentional lighting. We were very uncomfortable in the beginning with posing and having our pictures taken, but Jon's down to earth, easy going, humorous personality put us right at ease and made taking pictures so much fun. He was extremely efficient about getting our previews and pictures back to us as we were antsy about getting to see them all. We have been so satisfied with him that we have hired him to take pictures of our nephew and recommended him out to friends for their weddings! All of our friends and family who have worked with him, have been nothing but extremely pleased with his work. At the end of the day, he takes amazing pictures but gives you the sense that you are doing nothing more than hanging out with a friend. What more could you want?!

Working with Jon was such an amazing experience! From the first time we met him, he made us feel so comfortable, and we knew immediately that we wanted him to be our photographer. Normally, my husband and I don’t even like getting pictures taken of ourselves, but he put us at ease instantly during our engagement photo shoot, even though we had hundreds of pictures taken! It was like working with a friend. He had our pictures to us really fast, and they turned out amazing. For our wedding, he was so easy to work with. He was really great at directing us for different shots and even getting the family together for family photos. If you have any photo ideas of what you want, he is eager and always willing to do whatever you want and to work with you in any way. He is really fast to respond to any questions or concerns you have at any time. He has the ability to capture “candid” moments in such a beautiful way. I was thrilled with how our wedding pictures turned out. We were on a really tight budget, and I feel like we made out like bandits with the quality of photos we received! The experience with working with Jon was amazing. Honestly, I would recommend him to everyone (and have recommended him to multiple friends) who is looking for an incredible photographer, who will do a great job, and who will feel like your friend at the end of your time spent together. Thank you Jon for everything you did for us! I wouldn’t change it for the world.

Jon is a consummate professional. Both he and his second photographer captured all the moments we wanted and more! His cinematic style comes through with great shot composure and framing for both posed and candid pictures. From my wife in her wedding dress on the beach to our guests dancing to funk music, Jon captured everything perfectly. And most importantly, Jon is great to work with. He made everything simple and he was fun to hang out with and talk to in preparing for the wedding.

Jon was amazing the entire way through. My (now) wife has worked in film and television, so when she was seeking out a photographer for our special day, she was very attracted to Jon's expertise in the field. Jon's photography is special in that he isn't just a man who can use a camera professionally. He really knows which moments to capture in order to tell the story of your day. That's what differentiates a piece of technology like a camera as more than something that takes a picture, but something that can create art. The ability to use a camera the right way takes skill, and Jon has that skill as sharp as a blade. When we saw the images from our wedding, a hot and sunny day at the end of May, we were amazed. When you see yourself in photos like that, you feel like you're seeing yourself up on a big billboard advertisement, you feel like a celebrity. Some of the pictures taken look like they took hours of planning and staging, but Jon makes it effortless. We met with him twice before the big day, and he was a pleasure to sit and work with. We never felt like "just another client". He really gets into your world and shares the excitement of your event with you. All of these little intrinsic points add value to his service that surpasses just getting a book of photos after your event. Choosing a photographer can be difficult but Jon makes it easy. I would choose him again and again. Our 5 lb black Pomeranian dog was part of the wedding too, and we have beautiful shots with her. Jon met every expectation and was better than we could have hoped for.

PROFESSIONALLY: Jon was reliable, accommodating and easy to work with, both in advance and on the day of the wedding. An amazing value, I can't imagine that he'll stay at this price point for long. Book him ASAP, because I am about to tell him that he should raise his rates. Throughout the wedding, Jon worked amazingly hard. He was constantly looking for moments, people, and details to capture. I don't know if he sat down the entire night. Jon was upfront about all costs and processes; he is clearly very organized. We had a great time meeting him, working with him and enthusiastically give him our highest recommendation. ARTISTICALLY: Jon has a great documentary style of photography. Our pictures are genuine, lovely and exactly what I love about photography as an artform. Jon worked with a special request of ours as well, and put in the extra time and effort to make these AMAZING gif's of different moments throughout the wedding. The photos from our wedding were natural, and gorgeous. He was great at giving direction without making things seem overly posed or contrived. PERSONALLY: Jon has a great personality and is super easy to get along with. It was a joy to have him at our wedding. I'd invite him again, just as a guest. He was a great listener and really worked to make sure that he understood who we are as a couple, and what was important to us about our wedding. He helped set a great tone for the day, and then captured the amazing moments with our friends and family. We ended up changing the timing of some things around because we were running late, and he was so great about making sure we got the pictures that we wanted, without missing out on our wedding. He made sure that we snuck out to get some nice couples portraits, and I'm so glad that he did. TLDR: Jon is professional, artistically-talented, and an all-around good person. Incredible to find all of this at his current price point.

It has taken me a while to write this review simply because I cannot put together the right words of how amazing Jon is- as well as the entire team he came with on our wedding day. From start to finish, Jon has been the most respectful, professional, friendliest person we have ever crossed paths with. One of those photographers that just gets you- right away. When we first saw his website, we just knew- and booked him right away! On our wedding day, the most important part about Jon and his team was that we had fun- and he made sure to keep that going. We truly feel we have gained a special friend during our wedding process. Jon is the BEST—I’ve told him a hundred times—I found my photographer for life! Thank you will never be enough Jon!

BOOK HIM!! Out of all the vendors we had to choose for our wedding, Jon was the easiest. His photos are beautiful and unique and he is incredibly dedicated to his craft. He made us feel like we were taken care from start to finish, especially the day of our wedding. If you want someone to tell your story through the photos with honesty and grace, Jon is your guy!

We met John a few weeks before the wedding. Your typical salesman - here's what I do... but once you see what he DOES? Amazing. Reviews are testimony, or grilling, of one's skills, or lack thereof. You want skills? hire Jon. He's a photog ninja. I think I saw him like 5 times during the wedding. As I looked at the pictures, I said to my self "where WAS he??!!?!" We love the pics and he was able to capture what we felt that day. Looking at the pictures, we're right back there in the Brownstone.... breaking the chandelier...

We hired Jon for our wedding this year and we are so glad we did! From the moment we met him we knew we wanted him to take our wedding pictures. Jon and his assistant Janel were more than I could have hoped for. I was really nervous leading up to our wedding day, but on the day I was able to relax due in large part to Jon, and of course some Cabernet, lol! What is hard to understand is how important your photographer choice is. Yes, you want to hire a talented photographer, but you also want to hire someone you don't mind hanging around you for the majority of one of the biggest days of your life. Luckily with Jon we got both an amazing photographer and someone that is equally as talented in making you feel at ease in front of the camera! We loved him, and the photos are gorgeous, we honestly can't thank him or recommend Jon enough.

We hired Jon for our engagement shoot and wedding. From the moment we met him it felt like we were old friends. Jon was professional, courtesy and more than generous with his time.
