I am an award-winning documentary photographer located in the St. Petersburg and Tampa areas of FL. As a trained photojournalist and wedding photographer with more than 20 years of experience, I have an eye for documenting the significance and sentiment of a moment. The day might happen in a blur for you, but my camera captures the action and emotion in perfect focus, forever. Simple. My goal is to make photography the most carefree part of your wedding. Planning a wedding is difficult enough; the photographer should not be. I am very quick to respond and extremely easy to work with. Timeless. You only get to live this day once, but you relive it countless times. One of my favorite things about being a wedding photographer is talking with the couple after I've delivered their photos and they tell me how great it was look back at that day! Jonathan did a fantastic job on our wedding. The lighting for everything was spot on. My venue didn't have a separate bridal suite to get ready in, so he was able to work magic to make our hotel suite look great for the getting ready photos. Jonathan is punctual, professional, and a great communicator. My husband doesn't typically like staged photos taken but he was comfortable and happy that our day felt natural and non-invasive. We were able to spend a lot of time celebrating with our guests and that was what we were hoping for. The wedding was on a Saturday evening, and I already had a large preview file by Monday morning. Then the full edited file was delivered 2 weeks later. This really exceeded my expectations. I'd recommend Jonathan to anyone needing a photographer.

I honestly didn't care about the photos that much. I wanted some stuff captured but then said take whatever you want. Giving him the freedom to do what he wanted allowed me to not stress and allowed his creativity to shine. Jonathan did an excellent job and I cannot recommend him enough!

Jonathan is the best in the business for wedding photos. Had my wedding on 1/12/2025. Jonathan was able to accommodate schedule on a busy holiday season. The photos blew our minds away especially how Jonathan selected views on the golf course to snap photos when the sun was setting. My sister recommended Jonathan after she used Jonathan for her wedding in 2022. This is a must have photographer for any events.

Jonathan was great to work with! Good communication, professional and on top of it. Most of the wedding I didn’t even notice him, but after seeing our sneak peaks (we got them in 3 days!) we know that he was on top of every moment! He was flexible and fun to work with. We wanted to do a private first look at the beach before our destination ceremony, and he made it happen. You will love working with Jonathan!

Would give 6 stars if we could!!! We got married on 6/1/24 and Jonathan truly made our day magical! He paid attention to every detail, was incredibly professional, and had an awesome attitude. Jonathan was absolutely fantastic!! From the beginning he was quick to respond and helpful. At the wedding he was ready to go scouted out a great spot near by for portraits and knocked out all the photos we had planned and we were even done early, took all the stress of the timeline away. We did all of our couple, bridal party, and family photos before the ceremony and it went so smoothly. I got back the sample photos like 2 business days after the wedding, they are perfect!!! Cant wait to see the rest. Cant recommend Jonathan more!

The moment we received our wedding pictures I cried happy tears! The pictures received were far beyond my expectations. Jonathan truly captured every moment of our wedding perfectly. Jonathan was communicative throughout the wedding process. Always answering my emails or text with any questions that I had in such quick responses that gave me much ease. Day of wedding Jonathan was very professional, and his vibe was so chill and vibrant at the same time. He was so sweet and calm never making us feel rushed. Even while us girls were running late Dyer made use of the paid time and took pictures of my dress, rings, and even created a cute set up with all my accessories while he waited. Jonathan worked with one of our videographers who he was not partnered with. He worked with her so well it almost seemed as if they were a team. She quickly took his lead as Jonathan had the eye for every shot he took as far as background, lighting, and poses. All the while being patient and respectfully asking her if she got the shots she needed before he moved on. He was such a delight to have as he was in the shadows some how never in the way capturing EVERYTHING. The quality of the pictures are beyond the best I've ever seen of myself. Made my husband and I look like models! Receiving our album was like watching a movie. Jonathan didn't miss a thing to me tossing the bouquet to it being in the air to one catching it. Truly mind blowing. Any picture request that I had in the moment he captured. We received a ton of pictures which I LOVE. Also making it hard to pick from because the pictures are all beautiful. We received sneak peaks three days from our wedding which we were grateful for. Received the full album a week or so later which timed perfectly coming back from our honeymoon. DO NOT MISS OUT ON JD PHOTOGRAPHY. The price was at an extended offer for 2023 so we got a reasonable package. Without the offer the prices still wouldn't have broken the bank or wouldn't have been found with any other photography company with the talent Jonathan has. Absolutely worth the money. 10/10 recommend JD Photography!

If I could rate 10 out of 5 stars, I would. Jonathan was absolutely amazing to work with. He was very kind and easy to work with. He was clear in pricing and quick to respond. There were multiple times I dropped the ball and not once did he make me feel bad. He understood we had so much going on. He was very professional and pleasant at the wedding. And the photos, well, he has an amazing eye for photography. It's clear why he does what he does. We heard multiple times, "This should be in a magazine!" and "Your photographer is absolutely amazing!". The photos truly were stunning. Absolutely worth every penny. I can't recommend Jonathan enough.

From start to finish it was an absolute pleasure working with Jonathan Dyer Photography. Not only was he helpful and open to all of our wedding day needs, his calmness, professionalism, and ability to make us feel comfortable in front of the camera was a major plus. Prior to the wedding day, he was always available to talk on the phone, plan, and make sure he had firm grasp on the schedule of the day, along with particular photographs we were looking for, which made both myself and Charlotte feel confident that we had made the right decision in choosing JDP. What more can I say than we are in love with our wedding pictures! He captured all of the important moments we were hoping for and so much more including friends and relatives engaging with one another, beautiful shots of our rings, and even photographs along the way as we requested them. While searching for a photographer I noticed that Jon also shoots sports events, to which I mentioned to him that, “anyone who can capture a fastball in crisp focus, won my confidence that he could capture a kiss,” which he did in many natural, fun ways. Jonathan was the best photographer we could have asked for! We were both nervous about the day and honestly feeling awkward about having so many photos taken, but Jonathan made us feel right at ease! (We had smaller shoots with just the 2 of us in a couple of locales before the ceremony and reception). During the ceremony and reception Jonathan took a low-key role and captured many beautiful intimate moments (as well as great background shots) without being “in-your-face”. He had many great ideas and also enthusiastically took our ideas and requests on board. We received a preview set of photos in a couple of days, and the complete edited gallery a week after that. The result is a gorgeous set of photos that we will cherish forever :)

Jonathan was absolutely amazing! From the getting ready shots, to the last dance, he captured so many moments that I'm so grateful to be able to look back on for years to come. I especially was pleased with his laid back demeanor, because some other photographers I had spoken with, it seemed like it was very much a process to photograph a wedding, whereas he always made it seem enjoyable, and less like a chore! As soon as we met Jonathan at our engagement shoot, we knew that this was going to work out well. He was so fun and laid-back and up for anything, which is our style as well. I had a bunch of ideas for different kinds of photos and he incorporated them all and had ideas of his own. Our engagement and wedding pictures are beautiful. Now the hard part is trying to sort through hundreds of great shots to narrow down which ones to post, haha! In the world of weddings, where everything is overpriced just because, Jonathan offers a great service at a fair price and we are so glad that we hired him.
