It’s hard to put into words how grateful we are that we chose this venue for our wedding. From the very beginning, everyone was so warm, welcoming, communicative, and genuinely excited for us. We never felt like just another wedding on the calendar — we felt completely taken care of. The venue itself is absolutely beautiful, but it was really the people who made the experience so special. We got ready on site in the bridal suite, and Tori was there for us every step of the way. She handled every little thing with a smile and somehow made the entire day feel completely seamless. I truly never felt like I had to worry about anything other than enjoying the day. Our wedding was everything we hoped it would be. It was beautiful, relaxed, joyful, and just felt so completely us. So many of our guests told us how beautiful the venue was and how well taken care of they felt, which meant so much to us. We wish we could go back and do the entire day all over again. We will always be so grateful to Tori, Susan and the entire team for giving us the wedding of our dreams and making one of the most important days of our lives feel so effortless and special. We truly couldn’t have imagined having it anywhere else.

We had our wedding at Jonathan Edwards in mid August and it was everything we hoped for!! From the planning, to the rehearsal, and the day of- everything was well coordinated and taken care of for us. Tori and Susan were easy to communicate with, responsive, and flexible. They were one step ahead with anything we needed. The bridal suite was a great space for getting ready. The grounds were beautiful with the vines, the winery itself, and the amazing Sperry tent. The team was well prepared to adjust plans for some rain showers if needed and even went as far as helping our less mobile guests get around the grounds. We are so happy we chose Jonathan Edwards for our big day!

Hospitality has always been at the heart of everything I do. As a proud Penn State Alumni with a degree in Hospitality Management, I’ve had the opportunity to plan weddings and corporate events in Newport, Rhode Island, before returning home to Connecticut to join the team at Jonathan Edwards Winery. I pride myself on being approachable, dependable, and creating an experience where couples feel like they have a trusted partner throughout the planning process. There’s nothing I love more than bringing people together and helping create memories that will last a lifetime.

gorgeous it was, and we heard compliments about the space all night- but what made it unforgettable was the venue team. From our very first conversations through the end of our wedding day, Susan was consistently kind, thoughtful, knowledgeable, and incredibly supportive. They answered every question with patience, offered guidance whenever we needed it, and somehow always knew how to make us feel calmer and more confident. We always felt like we were in capable hands, and that trust made all the difference. On our wedding day/wedding weekend, she and Tori took such wonderful care of us that we were able to simply enjoy being there. We never had to wonder if something had been overlooked or worry about what was happening behind the scenes. Instead, we got to spend the day with each other and the people we love, knowing everything was being handled by a team that cared just as much about the experience as we did. A beautiful venue can give you a stunning backdrop, but this team gave us something much more valuable: the chance to be fully present on one of the most important days of our lives. Their professionalism, warmth, compassion, and genuine care shaped our experience from beginning to end, and we're so grateful for everything they did to make our wedding feel so joyful, seamless, and special. We're leaving with beautiful photos, wonderful memories, and so much appreciation for everyone who helped make the day what it was. y is perfect for wedding parties of all sizes. The landscape and the tent are beautiful. They require that you work with one of their preferred caterers, which was not a problem at all. The place is closed to the public during the event and there is only one event at a time, which was really important to me. The tent is absolutely stunning and the turf underneath was perfect! Our wedding was about 120 people and they can definitely accommodate parties of larger sizes. We were looking for a venue that would really let us customize what we want, so the fact that everything needs to be brought in (tables, chairs, linens, etc) was what we were looking for. However, I would not have chosen this venue without having booked my own wedding planner, as the support and information we got from the venue was lack luster at best. Beautiful location if you know what you're doing and have the right support on your team.

with our full-service wedding planner to help bring our vision to life at the most beautiful outdoor venue in Connecticut. From allowing us access to the property for our rehearsal, permitting drop-offs to the bridal suite ahead of time, to even picking up the lunch we ordered for the bridal party on the morning of our wedding on their way in to work, the Jonathan Edwards team went above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect. Our guests couldn’t stop raving about the stunning venue and stellar wines. We had the most wonderful time celebrating there and can’t wait to visit again to relive the perfect day over a glass of wine. We truly couldn’t have imagined our wedding anywhere else—Jonathan Edwards Winery was the perfect place for our special day!

Pros of the venue: - the venue fee comes with the tent and a day of coordinator - Patti - the day of coordinator- had our back the entire process once we met her - the venue is GORGEOUS and is really a perfect setting for a wedding - the bridal suite was perfect to get ready in - vendor recommendations were excellent - the team really wants your wedding to go smoothly Cons of the venue: - it is going to be expensive. The venue fee is nothing to laugh about, but also the catering costs, due to venue restrictions are also going to be a lot. Catering is what forced our budget to go higher after we had booked the venue - a lot of the venue is outside, however the tent has flaps that can be put down in case of rain or inclement weather - we couldn’t use the bridal suite until 2 PM unless we paid extra Even though the cost was high, I would definitely go with Jonathan Edwards Winery in a heartbeat. We are so pleased with how our wedding turned out. This being said, we also got VERY lucky with the weather in June, it was sunny and 75 with low humidity. I’m sure the wedding ceremony would have been equally beautiful under the tent if it had rained, but having the ceremony between the vines is truly exceptional.

visit to the wedding day (an almost 2 year stretch!), we could not have been more pleased with the JE team. Susan and Patti were honestly a dream team. No one else in the industry answered emails, texts, or calls quicker than they did and we were blown away by their willingness to help us have our dream wedding. From rescheduling our 2020 date to 2021 due to Covid to the wine tasting with our family to the rehearsal to the wedding day (and the rain that came with it!), we were in the best of hands at the most beautiful venue. If you want a personal and unique experience, you should choose JE and work with an incredible team of professionals who genuinely strive to give you the most incredible wedding.

ave never been treated so rudely when visiting a venue or anywhere in my life. I was able to find an amazing venue somewhere where I was treated with much more respect and care. I would highly suggest looking elsewhere.

. Everyone commented on how beautiful our wedding was, and so much of that was the venue. The bridal suite was a wonderful spot to get ready and to hang out in between photos and the ceremony. If you choose Jonathan Edwards, keep in mind that the staff doesn't really act as coordinators for your wedding; I worked much more closely with our catering coordinator and our day of coordinator that we hired. Also if you are having the reception under the tent, the music needs to be off at 10:30 exactly - so keep this in mind when planning your ceremony/timeline!

e were treated as prospective clients, and then current clients, for hosting our wedding here was terrible. I highly encourage you to book elsewhere if you can, the staff were unresponsive by phone and often by email, and it typically took days to get in touch with someone to answer questions about our contract. We don't feel that it is a good way to treat 'customers' who have paid a $4,000 deposit. Ultimately, due to the lack of adequate response and service we received, we decided to walk away from this venue and book elsewhere. We spoke to other previous brides who had similar, disappointing experiences with the event staff, that led us to believe our wedding would be no different, and we were just a means to drive revenue for this vineyard. They operate as a winery first and foremost, and put the winery first (direct quote) so the weddings and events are an afterthought, which comes across very strongly. I've thought long and hard about sharing a review, because in general I believe 'if you don't have anything nice to say then you shouldn't say it at all', but I figure if this can help at least one other bride, and maybe they don't have to go through the disturbing experience I went through, then the review would be worth it. The venue is beautiful, and probably the one of the prettiest vineyards in the area. But the scenery is not worth the poor customer service. Wedding planning is stressful enough, why add more stress to it?!

The Sperry tent is so beautiful, and getting married in the vines is something we'll never forget. JE is one of the most gorgeous venues/wineries you will ever come across in New England. If you are interested in having an event/wedding there you should know a few things going ....

. It costs a lot - and it really only covers the venue (tasting room/tent). You also have to use the wine from the vineyard so be prepared to add that cost into the day. You do not get anyone from the vineyard helping you on your day - so be prepared to hire a super caterer (you have three preferred ones to choose from) who will help you with things like placecards, etc. You should also be prepared to bring in tables/linens/etc. This will also add additional expenses depending on what you choose for your day. All that withstanding JE Winery is gorgeous. You just cannot recreate the pictures you will get in the vineyard or the atmosphere. AND if you love Sperry Tents as much as I do you will DIE over their tent on the grounds. If you decide the go with JE you won't be sorry - just be prepared for it to cost more than your average banquet hall.

She helped guide and direct us for our rehearsal so that everyone was on the same page. The day of the wedding she was in contact with our DJ and caterer to make sure everything was in place. Jonathan Edwards is the perfect place for a wedding!

e perfect combination of casual and elegant. The one major drawback is that the reception has to end pretty early - 10:30 pm - but that is the case with most outdoor reception spots in CT.
