Jonathan Hare Photography is a wedding photography studio based in St. Pete Beach, FL, willing to travel internationally for destination events. So far, lead photographer Jonathan has photographed weddings in countries like Ireland, South Africa, and New Zealand. Jonathan’s easy-going attitude and careful attention to detail are an appealing mixture to many couples searching for the right photographer for their big day. Jonathan began his wedding photography career after fulfilling a lifelong passion for travel and exploration. More than a decade in the wedding industry has made Jonathan a skilled hand at finding the best angles and moments. Providing every photo as a digital file allows couples to print and share their special day as they wish. As soon as everything is uploaded and touched up, couples can access their online gallery. Photo albums and professional prints are also available; however, Jonathan desires for couples to have total freedom to use their photos as they like. ficult on a wedding day because all eyes are on you. He also coordinated with our wedding planner and videographer on an appropriate timeline for the day to make sure that all of the special moments we wanted were captured. Jonathan even put together an initial slideshow for my husband and I to watch during dinner at our reception so that we could get a sneak peek of all the magical photos he had taken - Because he’s literally just that awesome. Jonathan also did our engagement photos as a part of our wedding package. We all traveled to Saint Augustine and took amazing photos around the fort and in the lighthouse. They’re simply stunning. And honestly, we just vibed so well with him from the start. It felt more like we were working with a good friend than anything else. What’s more - Jonathan’s talent was so apparent that all of my wedding guests who are having weddings in the coming years are also planning to hire him! He’s simply the best.

Jonathan truly loves his job and is so natural in bringing the best out of people he’s around. It’s a remarkable quality he has that is perfect for the important role he plays in your big day. On top of all that, he’s so creative and has such an amazing eye to capture unique moments you’ll remember forever through his photos. We absolutely LOVE the photos he took.
His commitment to his clients is another thing that is just mind blowing. Our wedding was in Boston in February. With a foot of snow falling on Friday, cancelled flights and chaos ensued from Thursday evening to Saturday morning. Jonathan scrambled so hard, I believe had 6 flights booked and cancelled on Thursday evening until he finally got on one to Philadelphia late on Thursday night. He then drove FIVE HOURS in the middle of the night with a snowstorm brewing from Philly to Boston arriving at 3 AM. We had guests that couldn’t make it, but he made sure he was there no matter what.
If I could give a million stars for this review I would, by the time our wedding weekend was over, Jonathan felt like family to us. He was so impressive and it was so evident how good he was at his job that even wedding guests were getting his info to hire for other weddings/events, and many couples commented on how they wish they had someone like him at their wedding. Jonathan’s gorgeous photos - especially his use of light and playfulness with water, I knew I had found our photographer. But we also wanted to make sure we felt comfortable with him, since he would be spending so many hours with us on our big day. He was so open and chill - we chatted on FaceTime and then were able to meet up in person when we were in town looking at venues. He was so understanding when we postponed due to COVID and we finally got to have our celebration last month. From the moment he got there he was part of our crew - as if it was a good friend taking photos of our wedding. For someone who is uncomfortable and awkward in photos this was so amazing. You can tell he has a passion for taking photos and a real excitement when he sees a setup for a cool shot - and we were game for whatever! (although we drew the line at the blow up beach carnival slide when we saw there was water haha). During the ceremony he already put together a small slideshow of some of the shots, which was a fun surprise, and within days he sent previews. Jonathan really loves his job and enjoys shooting weddings; even though he's probably done hundreds or thousands of weddings, he didn't seem the least bit jaded. He totally made us feel at ease on our wedding day, as he is a calm guy who is a pleasure to be around. Unfortunately at our wedding, a mistake was made that resulted in my new sister having to be transported to the hospital via ambulance. My new husband and I were in shock, beyond sad and angry, and were unable to take a lot of the photos that we wanted to as new husband and wife.
During this tragic time though, Jonathon put his camera aside and instantly became a friend. He comforted the bridal party as we were all devastated. He ran upstairs inside the venue and brought down waters, and asked what he could do to comfort us. In that moment, he showed his true colors of the person he is, and you couldn't ask for anyone better.
Our families were beyond grateful for his help during that trying time.
My new in-laws headed off to the hospital with their daughter but instructed us to continue with the wedding, so we did.
Jonathon helped get the party started with his fun energy and amazing spirit. He even pulled my nephew to the side and let him take pictures alongside him with his other camera. So much fun!

He was able to schedule an engagement photo shoot with us, and the pictures were incredible. He sent a few of his favorites to us that same day, I couldn't believe how quick the turnaround was! He also got the complete set back to me in less than two weeks. He gave me over 150 pictures from my evening engagement shoot. I even emailed him asking for a specific picture to be done in black and white with a color pop detail, and he happily got that done and sent it right back to me the next day. ell he was extremely talented. I was curious so my fiance and I decided to reach out to him. It all started with a FaceTime meeting, and after a few phone calls and discussion of logistics we were booked!
Soon after booking our wedding date, we scheduled our engagement shoot. We not only enjoyed spending time with Jonathan, we were impressed with his work. He made us and the setting look so beautiful. Jonathan was also quick to get us the photos from the shoot so that we could use it for our save the dates and guestbook.
As most brides know, the wedding day is an absolute blur. Not only does it go by in a flash, but there are very few moments that you get to enjoy during that day. Jonathan was immediately personable and put everyone at ease. He went over and above for our engagement session, waiting several hours until sunset to make sure we got the perfect shot. My entire wedding party loved him, and he checked in with me several times during the night to make sure he got the photos I had asked for! He also gave us 20 photos to share with friends and family within a week after our wedding, when with a lot of photographers you're dying to see something for 6-10 weeks. Jonathan has a terrific eye for beautiful and non-cookie-cutter shots, and that is what you are paying for. While we were on a budget so saving our pennies in some areas, the photographer was one thing we were willing to spend more on to get it right, and we're glad we did.
