Joe and Monique took all the hassle out by hiring the hair and make up artists (which they only hire the best) and securing the shooting locations. It made it so convenient for us since we live out of state. This actually also helped me (the Bride) hire my hair and make up artist for my wedding day. Once we got our engagement photos back we were completely blown away. Joe and Monique captured some of the most beautiful pictures, they are jaw dropping. Both of our families couldn't believe how amazing they came out. It really got everyone excited for the wedding photos. We couldn't wait to see what they were going to capture. Our wedding took place in July 2017. Joe and Monique made the day so much fun. They literally had to wrangle cats with our huge families, and both of them remained very calm and professional during those stressful moments. We also did the bridal shoot about a month after our wedding and they again went over and beyond coordinating it all. We are beyond happy with the way our photos turned out! We look forward to working with them every year and see what beauty they will capture! They are not just our wedding photographers, they are now our good friends!

Joe FaceTimes with us, spending time getting to know us before we even begin talking photos. He sends us updates on the wedding sites, contacts and plans with our crew, and was an absolute pleasure to work with. He even played tour guide and bartender when we visited. The first time we visit Tahoe to finalize plans, he acts as the perfect liaison between us and the resort. He recommends vendors for hair, make up, officiants, Djs and we used every single reccomendation, all incredible at what they do. We leave Tahoe knowing we are in good hands. Week of the wedding comes and Joe is practically family, creating a chemistry with our family and friends that is unsurpassed. He. Captured. Us. Perfectly. Our small group was captured in impeccable pictures, focusing on each moments charisma and significance. The beauty of Tahoe in the pictures was almost second to the natural character/characters of each photo. The engagement photos, the rehersal, the first look, the ceremony, dinner, reception, speeches, cigars and two steps, all masterfully captured in a way that puts us back in Tahoe with each photo we revisit. Seriously Joe, Thank You. Our first print ordered now sits on the wall in our living room, it's a piece that draws conversations and compliments from every guest we have over. he minute I saw his photos in 2015 (just on his camera's display screen) I knew that I wanted Joe and Monique to photograph my future wedding (and I wasn't even engaged yet!). Flash forward to February 2016, I was finally engaged and my first choice was Joe. The absolute selling point was how amazingly well Joe and Monique got along with my now husband and I. Hiring Joseph Hummel Photography was, by far, one of the EASIEST decisions while planning our wedding. We chose quality over quantity and it worked out in our favor. He is worth every penny, and made both of us feel extremely comfortable and like we were his only clients. Not once did he use the words "I'm too busy at the moment" which I have heard several other photographers say. Joe and Monique went ABOVE and BEYOND all of our expectations of wedding photographers and that didn't change at any point leading up to and during the wedding. We got married at Winter's Creek at Mt. Rose, and Joe took the natural beauty of the lodge and the view into consideration with every photo that he took. They care so much, in fact, that they met with us several times before the wedding - once to walk our wedding site at Sugarbowl Ski Resort and meet with the wedding coordinator, once to do a "warm up" photography session in our home town, and once to do a family photo session with my daughters. They truly went the extra mile to make sure we felt really comfortable and knew them well before the wedding. Joe and Monique really "got" us because they took the time to get to know us. They managed to get so many beautiful photos without us even realizing it - so the photography did not feel like a chore. I just received the wedding album and it is perfect! Joe was able to capture such wonderful candid photos, it never felt like we were being photographed. The engagement photos were OUTSTANDING. We've gotten so many comments from friends and family on how great the photos turned out. Friends that have been a part of many weddings commented on how they thought we got the “best photographer in the biz.” Not only did he get along really well with all the groomsmen and bridesmaids, he made everyone feel comfortable and delivered outstanding photos. He even helped us catch our running away dogs during the engagement photos! His turnaround time was insanely fast and we had our photos as soon as we got back from the honeymoon! He also put together a touching slide show to be played at dinner with photos from getting ready, the ceremony and the cocktail hour! We felt extremely comfortable with him throughout the entire process. I have worked as a wedding photographer assistant with a friend of mine and I know first hand how much work this is. Joe and Monique work very hard to make sure you have the perfect day and have great photos. We could not have asked for more. These two work so well together it's amazing. I loved every moment of doing our photos and was so excited to see them. I love every single photo that they each took so much! He is very professional and has a way of making even the shyest of people feel at ease.
