t after meeting him and seeing some of his work—we knew we could trust him to capture our day perfectly. He made sure we were on the same page having a thorough questionnaire for us, worked with our planner to fine tune our schedule, and was flexible with adjustments and additions to his services along the way.
He delivered a teaser for our highlight film just 24-48 hours after our wedding which absolutely helped with the post-wedding blues. He really captured the vibe we hoped for at our wedding at the University Club of Chicago and we continue to hear great compliments about his work even months later. We recently just got our final highlight film and it is more than we ever expected. He really has a great eye for capturing weddings and we are so happy to have this to look back on! He is an artist! We are so happy he and his team were there on our wedding day. Easily one of the best investments we made for our wedding and the result is honestly priceless!
After searching through the depths of videographers in Chicago, we were so grateful for the referral to Joseph for our August 2023 wedding in Lake Forest at The Armour House.

nd his team’s viewpoint that captures the celebration is authentic and sentimental. All throughout the day we were able to just be in the moment and trust they would capture it beautifully for us to look back on… and let’s give a round of applause for the drone footage. The compilation of the highlight video takes talent to edit down 8 hours into 5 minutes but it’s done thoughtfully and holistically. We can’t recommend Joseph enough.
Joseph shot our wedding at Harvest Bible Chapel and Harold Washington Library and KILLED IT! Joseph was willing to step in with ~1 month notice in a scenario where our initial vide...
ographer fell through. He was great in working with us for the amount of coverage for the day. We will be watching this over and over again and can’t thank Joseph enough!!!
Stop looking, hire Joseph now and get his most comprehensive video package - you won't regret it and it will be the best decision you make for your wedding. Here's why.
We did not...
originally book Joseph. We booked another video vendor very early in our engagement. As the months passed I became increasingly uneasy with my decision as it concerned me that the video team we booked never posted online (even during the busy wedding season). It was the only vendor on our incredible team that was keeping me up at night in panic bridal sweats. Thankfully though, we had booked an incredible photographer (Arielle Gallionne and the Ben Ramos Photography team) and I saw Arielle post about a wedding she did with Joseph. After seeing that video and their shared respect for one another as a video/photo team I knew in my gut I had to switch to Joseph.
Now, it's not an easy decision eating a few thousand dollars on a deposit to switch vendors, but I did it with no hesitation after a phone call and meeting Joseph in person at an industry event.
It was important to me to have kind, calm and talented professionals on our vendor team and Joseph fit that perfectly. I think sometimes brides and grooms find it odd to have a group of paparazzi's around you all day, but Joseph and his second videographer blended into our day which allowed us to truly EXPERIENCE our day and they were simply there to document it all. The way he respected and worked with our photography team was unmatched too (I've heard way too many horror stories of video and photo teams getting in each other's ways).
Beyond his professionalism the day of, within 48 hours we had a one minute preview video which was absolute perfection and captured so many important moments of our day.
We recently received all of our other films including a highlight video, ceremony, speeches and the raw footage. Each video is better than the next. To be honest I didn't know what to expect from the ceremony and speeches but both were captured at multiple angles and tell their own fun story on film. Last night, I watched ALL of the raw footage and it's honestly my favorite. It feels like a movie script of your entire wedding day and includes so many behind the scenes moments that until last night only lived in my memory but now are documented (think things like getting ready with your friends, the first look conversations with your spouse and parents, the funny moments that happen when you're taking all of your wedding portraits, the shenanigan's that happen when you bring your dog to your wedding, the parts of the cocktail hour you missed while taking pictures, your entrance and cake cutting, first dances and of course my favorite - the dance floor!).
Seriously, if you read this far and still haven't booked Joseph, what are you waiting for? Because of him I now have memories on film of loved ones forever - and that's irreplaceable and completely priceless.
We are beyond thrilled that we had Joseph as our videographer for our wedding!! We were able to confirm him along with our amazing photographer Ashlyn Henry, which made the process...
very simple and was ultimately part our dream team. Joseph was professional, helpful, and delivered amazing work. We had a 1-minute trailer video of our wedding delivered within 2 days of our actual wedding - it is amazing. Our 5-minute highlight video was recently released to us, and it too blew us away. Joseph captures the day beautifully. When watching the videos, you feel like you are exactly back in those special moments. In hindsight, we totally would've selected his option that included a full edit of the ceremony and speeches as well. At that time, we did not realize how much we truly valued having a videographer until we were crying from how amazing our videos were and picturing watching them with our family and kids in the future. We asked Joseph if we could purchase those after he had already delivered everything and he was able to accommodate the request!! We absolutely would recommend that you have a videographer, purchase all the edits you can, and have Joseph Lotz as your wedding videographer!!

omething super important on one of the most important days of your life. Joe was friendly, funny, worked great with us and our bridal party, and had some great ideas for shots that were *chef's kiss*. This day was two years in the making and I'm so happy we can relive our special day over and over.

an it 10000%!!! Joseph was incredible to work with, right from the very start it felt like we were working with a friend we’d known for ages. He coordinated perfectly with the rest of our wedding vendors, came the morning of with a calming presence in the midst of what felt like utter chaos and captured our entire day more beautifully and artistically than I could have ever imagined. When we got our teaser video (the very next morning!!!!) I quite literally started bawling at how amazing it was. I’ve watched it at least 100 times already since then and I’m still in awe. This man is talented beyond words and knows how to capture the essence of not only your wedding but the love between two people. Do yourself a favor and hire him and you will have video that you can use to relive those moments again and again forever!!!!
If there is any doubt in your mind about booking Joe, this is your sign to BOOK HIM! Joe did such an incredible job shooting our wedding that my husband went viral and now claims “...
30 million people know how much I love my wife.” Joe did such an amazing job literally keeping his cool in the Arkansas heat, and made our entire bridal party feel so comfortable throughout the whole day. He even went above and beyond and shot our entire ceremony (plus 4 extra speeches!) even though he wasn’t originally tasked to. Not only is Joe’s shooting talent incredible, but his edit of our highlight reel makes me cry every time I watch it (which is every day). Videography was one of the expenses for the wedding we didn’t know would fit in our budget, and I cannot say enough how thankful I am that we decided to book Joe - it was one of the best decisions we made!

rough details and things to consider that I honestly had not thought off. In the time leading up to the wedding we were in touch about changes, timeline and things we wanted. Needless to say Joseph was able to capture the love, the simles and feel for that day and we could not be happier!

deography, and we are SO glad we did. I discovered Joseph Lotz via instagram and loved the vibe of his cinematography - perfectly capturing the love two individuals have for one another, adding in great soundtracks and dance shots, and placing voiceovers exactly where the happy tears should flow. He was very professional, good to work with and delivered our teaser before we even made it to the lobby for coffee the morning after our wedding! We would absolutely recommend booking Joseph Lotz!!
The most common response from people the first time they see our wedding video is "That looks like a movie!" - and they're absolutely right.

ional - he struck the perfect balance between getting all the most important candid shots while also pulling us to the side to capture an unforgettable sunset or background. We had a destination wedding in Italy that came with tons of hurdles to filming: a rocky boat, lots of train travel, and a hike up a narrow footpath. You wouldn't know any of it from the video, though, as it looks like it was shot by a full film crew.
I know plenty of couples that have watched their wedding video once or twice, but Joe gave us something that we have already watched 100s of times. My wife and I could truly not recommend anyone more highly than Joe!

ood the assignment! I even spoke with him about what song we would want and I told him to choose because I had full faith. Safe to say he knocked it out of the park and we still watch our video once a week with the biggest smile on our faces. We had decided to elope in downtown Chi and he not only captured STUNNING film but also made sure to incorporate the natural beauty downtown has to offer. Joe was willing to do what was needed to capture the perfect moment. Whether it was running across Wacker, sneaking up to the L for the most incredible shots, or encouraging us to have our first dance with a live street performer, Joe made it happen. Both my husband and I felt so comfortable throughout our time with Joe and we truly could not imagine working with anyone else. We will forever be grateful for the work that he did and providing us with the opportunity to relive our special day time and time again.
If I could 10 stars, I would.

ive. He is kind and genuine in respecting the importance of the wedding day to your family. His crew he brought was excellent and skilled. The end video was beautiful; everyone in our family loved it. If you book Joe, you can't go wrong.

d stayed late to capture some of the most amazing moments. He's a calming presence while the craziness of the wedding was happening. Video came through in amazing time. The reel was a tearjerker, and so was all the raw footage (we ordered that separately and we're so glad we did). Even months later we still rewatch everything and we're so thankful we hired Joe.
