After searching through the depths of videographers in Chicago, we were so grateful for the referral to Joseph for our August 2023 wedding in Lake Forest at The Armour House. He and his team’s viewpoint that captures the celebration is authentic and sentimental. All throughout the day we were able to just be in the moment and trust they would capture it beautifully for us to look back on… and let’s give a round of applause for the drone footage. The compilation of the highlight video takes talent to edit down 8 hours into 5 minutes but it’s done thoughtfully and holistically. We can’t recommend Joseph enough.

Joseph shot our wedding at Harvest Bible Chapel and Harold Washington Library and KILLED IT! Joseph was willing to step in with ~1 month notice in a scenario where our initial videographer fell through. He was great in working with us for the amount of coverage for the day. We did not originally book Joseph. We booked another video vendor very early in our engagement. As the months passed I became increasingly uneasy with my decision as it concerned me that the video team we booked never posted online (even during the busy wedding season). It was the only vendor on our incredible team that was keeping me up at night in panic bridal sweats. Thankfully though, we had booked an incredible photographer (Arielle Gallionne and the Ben Ramos Photography team) and I saw Arielle post about a wedding she did with Joseph. After seeing that video and their shared respect for one another as a video/photo team I knew in my gut I had to switch to Joseph. Now, it's not an easy decision eating a few thousand dollars on a deposit to switch vendors, but I did it with no hesitation after a phone call and meeting Joseph in person at an industry event. It was important to me to have kind, calm and talented professionals on our vendor team and Joseph fit that perfectly. I think sometimes brides and grooms find it odd to have a group of paparazzi's around you all day, but Joseph and his second videographer blended into our day which allowed us to truly EXPERIENCE our day and they were simply there to document it all. The way he respected and worked with our photography team was unmatched too (I've heard way too many horror stories of video and photo teams getting in each other's ways). Beyond his professionalism the day of, within 48 hours we had a one minute preview video which was absolute perfection and captured so many important moments of our day. We recently received all of our other films including a highlight video, ceremony, speeches and the raw footage. Each video is better than the next. To be honest I didn't know what to expect from the ceremony and speeches but both were captured at multiple angles and tell their own fun story on film. Last night, I watched ALL of the raw footage and it's honestly my favorite. It feels like a movie script of your entire wedding day and includes so many behind the scenes moments that until last night only lived in my memory but now are documented (think things like getting ready with your friends, the first look conversations with your spouse and parents, the funny moments that happen when you're taking all of your wedding portraits, the shenanigan's that happen when you bring your dog to your wedding, the parts of the cocktail hour you missed while taking pictures, your entrance and cake cutting, first dances and of course my favorite - the dance floor!). Seriously, if you read this far and still haven't booked Joseph, what are you waiting for? Because of him I now have memories on film of loved ones forever - and that's irreplaceable and completely priceless.

We are beyond thrilled that we had Joseph as our videographer for our wedding!! We were able to confirm him along with our amazing photographer Ashlyn Henry, which made the process very simple and was ultimately part our dream team. Joseph was professional, helpful, and delivered amazing work. We had a 1-minute trailer video of our wedding delivered within 2 days of our actual wedding - it is amazing. Our 5-minute highlight video was recently released to us, and it too blew us away. Joseph captures the day beautifully. When watching the videos, you feel like you are exactly back in those special moments. In hindsight, we totally would've selected his option that included a full edit of the ceremony and speeches as well. At that time, we did not realize how much we truly valued having a videographer until we were crying from how amazing our videos were and picturing watching them with our family and kids in the future. We asked Joseph if we could purchase those after he had already delivered everything and he was able to accommodate the request!! We absolutely would recommend that you have a videographer, purchase all the edits you can, and have Joseph Lotz as your wedding videographer!!
