Josh DeHonney Weddings

Josh was amazing from start to end on our wedding journey! We loved his artistic style from his instagram and website, and were so happy he was available for our wedding date. His prices were way more reasonable than other vendors we looked as well. Josh is so pleasant to work with, he was great working with all of our guests, and kept everyone happy even in 90 degree heat! Our ceremony and reception pictures told the entire story of our day from getting ready early in the morning through the last dance. Josh was great with special requests like including our pup in the photos and helping out my sister with special needs. Most of all, we were so impressed by how fast we got to see so many of our photos! Less than a week after the wedding we had a great preview of our day and within 3 weeks we had over 1400 pictures. I recommend him strongly to everyone!

Josh is a very friendly and affordable photographer. He was willing to work with our budget. He took many unique shots, and of the plethora of pictures he took, 40% were exceptionally great. We will have a hard time deciding which to hang! Unfortunately, some of the photos were not edited very much. We were easily able to fix up the lighting with apple's photo editing tools. To his credit, the photos were available less than a month after we were married--which is really great! However, we were wishing some of the photos were more carefully edited. Our other reason for not giving JD a higher rating is that he forgot to take video of the ceremony after we had talked about it. We easily could have set up our own camera if we had known, but JD did give us a major discount for forgetting. We wish there was a 3.5 star rating. We really wanted to give Josh a higher rating because he had so many great shots and was fun to work with.

Let me start by saying we planned our entire wedding from 3000 miles away. Choosing our vendors was important to us but we were limited to doing Skype/Facetime meetings, phone calls and emails. From our first meeting we instantly knew we needed to have Josh photograph our day. Josh was by far the most amazing vendor we had for our wedding day. He worked with us with our distance, answered every email promptly and never made me feel like I was bothering him. He was extremely down to earth, reasonable and knowledgeable. He was very honest with us about all of our options (first look, traditional first look) practical logistics for both and worked with us going for the traditional first look down the aisle. Josh went above and beyond for us, worked with us and gave us stunning photos. I thought it was going to be difficult to top our engagement photos, which honestly made me cry, our wedding photos are beyond stunning. I cannot stop looking at them. Josh was in two roles throughout the day, either he was that long lost hilarious family friend cracking jokes to make taking photos easier and making us feel comfortable or he was a silent ninja, capturing these amazing moments from behind the scenes (which are some of our favorite shots to be honest). He made our day so fantastic and truly captured our love for one another and captured all of our friends and family. I cannot recommend him enough. He was amazing, our photos are breathtaking and our entire experience was incredible. I will make it a point to travel the distance to use him for any future photos we need. Josh, I honestly cannot thank you enough.

We can’t say enough about Josh!! He is truly an artist, and the pictures he took were absolutely breathtaking! Even our guests were raving about how Josh seemed to always be there to capture the best moments of the day and night. And beyond his amazing talent, he was a pleasure to work with! He made us feel comfortable and calm the entire day, and went with the flow when changes had to be made last minute due to weather. We would highly recommend him to anyone looking for a wedding photographer!!

My husband and I have loved working with Josh! Josh is so down to Earth and easy to love. He is very clearly passionate about photography and finds beauty everywhere! We just got a preview from our wedding day and I am in awe! I love them! He was able to get my husband who never smiles, to smile in pictures. I appreciated that on our wedding day he wasn't up in our faces making us pose every four seconds with our guests. We chose to have our formal portraits during cocktail hour and he was very good about making sure he got amazing shots but still stayed within our time limit, which was huge for me. My husband and I were referred to Josh through a couple who had booked him for their wedding. From the minute we met him at our engagement shoot we felt very comfortable and knew he was the perfect fit for us! Josh goes above and beyond to get the perfect shot for his couples. Josh is beyond awesome to work with! Right away I felt so comfortable with letting him take the lead and just trusting the process! I am so happy with how the wedding pictures turned out, and I truly could not have imagined using another photographer. wedding :10-15-17 Josh was fantastic to work with very professional and a lot of fun to work with. I personally come from a family of people that are not photogenic including myself. Yet, Josh seemed to capture the photos and the right moment in which everything was seamless . We booked Josh specifically because we thought he would be able to capture that one photo that will hang in our home forever. Instead we we received plenty of fantastic photos that captured the night and that we will cherish forever.

Josh is the best! My husband and I just got married this past September and Josh was so easy and fun to work with. He is very accommodating and makes everything run seamless. Our pictures came out amazing and even our family and friends have non-stop complimented his talent. He truly cares about his work and you can tell from the finished product. My husband and I got married in February and Josh was our photographer. He was absolutely amazing!!! I can’t stop looking at our pictures! He made me feel absolutely comfortable throughout the entire day, which was so important to me since I am not the most comfortable in front of the camera. August 26th 2017 Josh was an incredible photographer making our engagement season and wedding day so enjoyable and special. He made our cherished day even more cherished. Wedding 8-26-17~~~ Josh was superb from the get go. He is the most accommodating photographer ever! He sat down with us in a nice bakery for our consultation and then we had our engagement pictures which came out spectacular! He has great attention to detail and is just an overall fun person to work with.Our wedding pictures came out amazing and he made our wedding day go all the smoother as well as his partner Brandon. My husband and I are so happy we chose Josh to photograph our wedding. We have received countless compliments on our engagement and wedding photos. His photos truly tell a story. When we viewed them for the first time, we felt like we were seeing our wedding through the eyes of our guests. It was incredible the way he caught such special moments, both large and small. I wish I could leave a million stars for Josh. From the moment we met him my husband and I were in love. He was so caring and open to anything we suggested or wanted. Our engagement session was so fun! He made us feel so comfortable regardless of being a little nervous in the beginning. He got us to act silly like no one else was around. He wasn't just a photographer, he became a friend and you would have thought he was part of the family with the way he got along with everyone at our wedding. I cannot say enough wonderful things about Josh! He brings such great energy and positive vibes to his shoots, which makes it very easy to have fun and feel natural during a session. When our limo caused us to be an hour late to our wedding venue, he made us both feel at ease and came up with a plan to maximize our remaining time. Josh is AMAZING! He is so knowledgeable in this art and is so easy to work with! He captures moments you didn't even think were possible and makes sure to catch the light just right! I can not say enough amazing things about Josh! 5 stars is NOT enough. Where to even begin... Josh was a pleasure to work with from the beginning. Incredibly friendly, nice and professional. Not to mention his prices were significantly more reasonable than anyone else we saw. I was initially worried that by paying less we would sacrifice quality or service but I could not have been more wrong. The pictures captured the emotion of the day perfectly. It is like reliving the wedding every time we see them! It should also be noted that it poured on and off on our wedding day and Josh was completely unphased by the multiple puddles he had to wade through to get the perfect shot. Our family keeps saying that they can't believe the shots he got because no one even noticed he was there! He was able to capture every moment of the wedding without feeling intrusive at all. During the ceremony and reception they were very discrete. I've been to a lot of weddings where the photographers were all over the place and very in your face. Josh and Andy were so respectful. Okay, let's talk about the photos. AMAZING!! Josh takes very natural and beautiful photos. He had a ton of great ideas, but was also super open to improvising. There was a point while he was shooting photos of just my husband and myself were the sun started shining through this small round window and he got really excited and started snapping pictures. The result was this amazing silhouette photo of us with the light bouncing off the the marble floors. I will definitely be recommending Josh to anyone I know for a wedding photographer. Josh shot our engagement photos and our November 21, 2015 wedding. We couldn't have been happier with the process and the results! He took so many beautiful pictures on our wedding day without being invasive. He captured the best moments and lighting and seemed to love doing it! Josh was professional from the moment that we met him when searching for a photographer. Not only is he an amazing photographer, but he is an artist. He uses light in a beautiful way. Our photographs are beautiful and showed his artistic personality. Also, Josh was flexible with the package, which included engagement photos. Since we got photos during our engagement, we did not want engagement photos, so he allowed us to substitute a second shooter for the engagement photos. The second shooter that he used, Stephanie Barone, was amazing as well. Everything went perfectly on our wedding day, and both photographers were enthusiastic and professional. Josh was very professional, yet it felt like he was one of our friends during the whole process. Once the festivities began, you would never know he was there. From our engagement photo day, to our wedding day, Josh made every effort to make us feel comfortable and informed. Josh took charge to make sure we stayed on time, and even helped out where he could with tying ribbons and fixing flowers! Josh did our engagement photos at princeton university. Although neither of us are comfortable with having our photos taken, Josh was able to make us feel so comfortable and at ease. The eye he has for photography is phenominal! He made us feel very at ease and very natural in our poses. Josh did a fabulous job at my wedding. He was so wonderful to work before, during and after. He has a very laid back and flexible attitude and he is an extremely hard worker. He meshed well with my entire "team" --my coordinator, videographer and MOM! I also received my AMAZING pictures within 60 days of my big day---which is very speedy for wedding photographers! Josh is such an amazing photographer. He took amazing shots for my August wedding. His personality is also easy going and sociable. All my guest complimented on how my photographer was active and always around catching those "in the moment" shots. I have so many great photos that it is hard too choose from. I recomend him for any couple that is looking for fun and active photos to be able to look back on and know exactly how you felt at that moment just by looking at the photo.

Best wedding photographer ever! I've been in and at a lot of wedding and Josh is by far the best! Picture's were amazing! I'm still amazed that there's no evidence of the sweat that was pouring down our faces on such a hot/humid day in any of our pictures! Josh got all of the best moments captured without being pushy and intrusive like other wedding photographers. We barely knew he was there, except when he was joining in on the fun with our lively bunch and letting my crazy brother take selfies with him and use his camera to take pictures of him dancing with us girls, lol... I HIGHLY recommend using Josh. In addition to amazing pics and service, the prices were some of the lowest I've ever seen! He let me pick and choose exactly what I wanted instead of having to choose a huge expensive package with stuff I didn't want like most other wedding photographers require. It was an all-around great deal and awesome experience :)

Josh was absolutely the best choice my husband and I made in choosing our wedding photographer!! He is energetic and added to the excitement of the day - our whole family and bridal party loved working with him. Our engagement photos (and also wedding photos) were taken at a baseball field that tied into our 'vintage baseball' themed wedding. Josh, with his wonderful keen eye, was able to work with this theme and create spectacular photographs. They come out like the photographs you see in wedding magazines and on Pinterest! Josh is the only photographer for me and I have already recommended him to my girlfriends who are planning their wedding.

I'm writing this review to help out other same sex couples looking for a photographer who understands the unique issues of photographing same sex weddings. Josh is that photographer! My husband and I knew we needed someone who has experience with gay wedding photography. As one can imagine, photographing same sex couples is not the same as photographing straight couples, and we wanted to find someone who understood the dynamics of a gay relationship. Josh was clearly at ease with me and my husband when we initially met with him. It was obvious that he is gay-friendly and he shared that he has close friends who are in the LGBT community. While that was certainly an important factor in our choice of photographer, we were even more impressed by Josh's understanding of the subtle but important differences between a straight and gay wedding. The typical photos that most wedding photographers are used to relying on weren't going to work for our wedding. Josh had tons of ideas for unique and interesting shots that we had never even thought of. We loved that he had a background in commercial and fashion photography, because his photos look like they jumped right out of a magazine. He captured so many spontaneous moments and emotions and none of our photos look fake or posed. I think what we were happiest about was that we felt completely comfortable with Josh at the wedding and totally relaxed. This is important for a same sex wedding because so often a gay couple can feel somewhat inhibited out in public together. Because Josh put us at such ease, we got shots that truly express who we are as a couple. I would highly recommend Josh whether you're having a straight or gay wedding. His photos won't disappoint!

Words cannot even begin to describe how happy we have been with Josh as our photographer. He did our engagement shoot and our recent wedding. He is beyond amazing at his job and just loves what he does and it shows. His photographs are so creative and are reasonably priced. We could not be happier!!!!!! Josh you rock!

My now husband and I agree that hiring Josh to do our engagement and wedding photos was the best decision we could have made during the entire wedding process! Our budget was not very big and he fit right into without us having to sacrifice elsewhere. He was always engaged with us and listened to everything we had to say during the planning process and while shooting. He was timely, stuck to our wedding day schedule (which was not a long day by any means, so timing was VERY important). He was able to get our 4 year old daughter to smile and have fun in pictures, which is not her favorite thing to do. My bridal party and entire family were impressed with his level of professionalism and yet at the same time making everyone feel comfortable in front of the camera. We received an amazing sneak peek not even 24 hours after our wedding and know we will love each and every photo. Make no mistakes with your wedding photography and hire Josh. You won't regret it!

My now husband I are so happy with our choice to have Josh do our wedding! He was amazing, Josh really took the time to understand what we wanted. He was prompt and kind he went with us to several locations to do our photos. Josh was so good with our nieces (who are not easy to deal with). He was affordable and easily fit in with our tight budget. Not only were the photos exquisite but we got them just 3 week latter! We are going to be booking Josh again in a few months to do baby photos!!! Having Josh do our photos was one of the best choices we made! I could not be happier with the photos and am looking foward to having Josh do all of our family events!!!!

Planning a wedding is definitely a stressful process, but pick Johh for your photography needs and don't look back! Josh was simply the best part of our wedding. We had Josh do our engagement photoshoot as well and that's how we got to know him. It was above 100 degrees that day, and in that sweltering heat, he still managed to produce amazing photos. We were so impressed that we hired him for our wedding. When it came time to the wedding, he checked in with us 1-2 days prior, and reassured us that he would be there. Sure enough, he arrived a few hours early to scout locations for great pictures. Some times having an outsider can be a little awkward, but Josh was great. He was behind the scenes when he needed to be, yet just a reach away when he was needed. It was like having a member of our family there with us. After the wedding, he went home, let us know that all the images were safe, and then several weeks later, emailed us a package containing prints, a USB drive with all the images, and a thank you note. When we looked at our pictures, we were stunned at how well they turned out! Couldn't have asked for more.

Josh provided us with a beautiful lasting images to remember our special day. We were very pleased with his attention to detail and capturing the moments in the moment. Josh also took the time to get to know us and our personal style. You wont be dissapointed

My wedding will always be am amazing memory thanks to Josh and the pictures he took during it. He was so fun to have around; all the kids loved him and he was awesome with them. The package in the mail was great and I am pleased at how wonderful Josh is as a photographer.

I have never been a big fan of getting my picture taken, however Josh was able to make the process much more bearable. Not only did he help me feel more comfortable while taking the pictures, but he also did everything he could to make things fun. Josh was awesome with all the kids and he was just an all around great guy. The package I received in the mail was amazing and I am so grateful for all the work he had put into my photo album!

Neither my wife nor I are really the wedding planning type. We go to a lot of them, and certainly enjoy the party, but when it came to our own we were kind of babes in the woods. We had no specific idea what we wanted, but at least knew what we didn't want. Wedding photography can be so horribly cornball, and neither of us were really looking to pony up thousands of dollars for rote poses and pictures of cake. Eventually, we got to Josh, and the first phone conversation I had with him, he asked what we were looking for. I explained that we were mainly just looking for somebody who would photograph us the way we are and not the way weddings are "supposed" to look. He said he could do that. We met up, he showed me his work, and I knew within two minutes that I wanted this dude photographing the wedding. First of all, the man is just incredibly open and friendly, something that usually puts me on edge (I live in New York). I'm thinking, "What's this guy's angle?" But then he explained that he was Canadian, and it all made sense. On the day of the wedding, Josh showed up early and scouted the site. Stacey said she wanted to get all the formal photos done before cocktail hour, so we did. He took some really fun photos of my groomsmen and myself, and understood the importance of the Slayer cufflinks my brother and I were wearing. When Stacey arrived, we went out on the golf course to this gorgeous tree, and he timed it right to get the perfect lighting. As requested, most of the photos he took were candid shots of the party, which is perfect since it all went by for me in such a blur. But the important thing is that the photos turned out wonderfully. He made everything easy, and is super professional. My one regret is that Josh had to photograph the wedding, otherwise I might've ended up just inviting him. Thanks again, Josh!

We chose Josh to photograph our wedding because we wanted someone with not just wedding experience. We wanted our photos to be unique and have character - not just cookie cutter posed wedding photos. With Josh's background in commercial and fashion photography, we knew he'd bring just the edge we were looking for. We were beyond happy with this decision! Josh is a pure professional (and funny and personable too!) He captured all of our special moments in creative ways. And he was never in our way. One of my favorites...There was a pool table at our venue and Josh arranged the numbers on the pool balls to read our wedding date. Just one example of his little creative touches. This is the perfect cover to our wedding album and we get so many complements. Best of all, Josh is affordable! Hard to come by in this industry. We highly recommend Josh, book him while you can!

We hired Josh to shoot our wedding, as well as our engagement photos. He was on-time, professional, courteous, and awesome to be around. He made us feel very relaxed, which led to AMAZING photos. We were so thrilled with our wedding album that we've already booked Josh to shoot our pregnancy photos, too! Can't wait :-) I would highly recommend Josh for any kind of photo shoot. I had given up on even using a professional photographer for our wedding until I met with our venue coordinator and she said "Don't do that to yourself, please just call this guy." That guy was Josh and he was an absolute god send. From our very first phone conversation I knew I had found the perfect photographer for our day. First and foremost, he is a fantastic photographer, he took beautiful pictures for us, captured angles and moments and didn't use those goofy effects that try to make a photo more than it is and I appreciated that so much. Josh DeHonney is such an amazing, talented photographer. He photographed both my engagement and wedding and did an outstanding job. He is laid back and funny which made the day even more enjoyable. Nobody wants a boring and/or pushy photographer and Josh is neither of these. He recently did our newborn's photoshoot and we will continue to use him in the future! I have always hated being photographed, it was one thing I was dreading about my wedding. Josh made it so fun that for the first time in my life I enjoyed having my picture taken....and they came out gorgeous. He is fantastic!
