Josh Mariana Photography & Mariana Filmworks

I was VERY dissatisfied by this photographer. From the beginning I tried to explain to my wife that his prices were simply outrageous. I am sorry but 7000.00 for an engagement session and wedding is ridiculous. His deposit was 3500.00 which again in my opinion is a verging on insanity. But of course, we booked him despite my protests. The day of was a little warm. He showed up and gave us some good guidance and we tried several locations. We took over 500 photos, now I realize not all of those were going to be winners, but we were expecting about 20% of those to come back as finished photos. He took a little bit longer than expected but hey its art…you cant rush those things. We looked at the photos together and were completely crushed. We received far less photos than we thought we would for starters. There were legitimately photos we were not in, that made it into the final cut. Additionally we now have another 3 photos of us walking away, but not in any sort of artsy way. It was as we were getting into place. I think there were 10 photos where the light shining through the trees left huge white orbs all over my face. Now I completely understand that he obviously took some shots that weren’t great, hell I bet 80% of them weren’t. But for a terrible to make its way to the final cut is inexcusable. Furthermore what little remained featured us at odd angels and completely off center. We brought our concerns up and he went back and fixed some of them. Now he did fix half of them, but for us to have to ask for him to make obvious corrections for a one hour engagement session……we lost all confidence that he could successfully shoot our wedding day and process all those photos without error. We ended up not being able to use any of the photos at all for anything. We unfortunately had to break contract for one of the most fundamental business reasons that exist….we were not satisfied by any stretch of the imagination with his aforementioned work and his lack of care. As you may have guessed the nonrefundable deposit did not take into consideration his impressive lack of performance. This experience has at least taught me that price is no indication of quality, as I am supremely positive an amateur photographer would have done better work.

My husband and I got married 9/28/19 and both Josh and his second shooter Jess were nothing short of amazing to work with! They were timely, flexible, provided suggestions, and overall were terrific on our wedding day. Planning with Josh from the beginning was simple and enjoyable as he helped guide us on a timeline and package. Not only did he get every shot that we requested on our wedding day but came up with many that we would have never thought of. Jess was in the bridal suite at the church to capture the moments before and she is nothing but sweet, gracious, and kind. They are spectacular to work with and we would highly recommend them!

I can’t recommend Josh Mariana enough for anyone looking for a photographer/videographer on the big day. Josh made the planning process so easy and was always available from the moment we met him. Every time I had a question, he would respond to it super quickly and was always helpful. Josh and his friends were super fun to work with the day of. They took the stress and boringness out of taking photos and had all of our bridal party laughing. I absolutely in love with my photos and I can’t stop looking at them. They recreated the day. One of the nicest things about Josh and his team was that when they were taking photos and videos during the ceremony/reception, we didn’t even know they were there! We got tons of compliments on this (along with how beautiful the photos were). You won’t go wrong choosing Josh Mariana!!

I will first say that our pictures and videos are so perfect, I wouldn't change a thing. I'm not sure how certain pictures could have even been captured, but Josh and his team were able to give us photos I wouldn't have thought possible. We decided to stay at the venue for formals and Josh was able to map out the most beautiful places. The team met up with both the bride and groom for pre ceremony photos at our hotel and then met us at the venue for our first look. We weren't entirely sure where we wanted the first look but, again, he flawlessly chose the most perfect spot. Amazing pictures would be enough for me to recommend working with Josh, however, the atmosphere they bring is on another level. Our photos were fun and filled with laughs. It never felt stiff or forced, which, for a couple that doesn't take very many pictures, was a relief.

Booked Josh and his team for my wedding last weekend and they were beyond amazing!! They ran everything so smoothly and the pictures could not be more beautiful! Very organized and super easy to work with. Had the pictures back to me in five days. I can’t wait to see the video too!!

Our videos from Mariana Filmworks are incredible! They exceeded any expectations I had about videography. The team was punctual, respectful and calm. The crew faded into our day, without notice and captured everything perfectly!! We obtained the most beautiful short video that pieced our day together seamlessly, as well as uncut videos of our ceremony/reception, which was amazing to relive! Thank you Mariana Filmworks!!

Josh is easy to work with and definitely has an eye for photography. He was one of the only photographers I found that could handle the color white without it getting blown out! I would use him again, and absolutely recommend him for anyone's wedding.

We used Mariana Filmworks for our wedding in June. Mariana Filmworks was amazing from beginning to end! They are easy to work with, very responsive and professional. The videographers were excellent and captured the love and beauty of our wedding day! We received our video quickly and love everything about it! We have received sooooo many compliments! I cant say enough about Josh Mariana Photography. Everything from booking, the day of, and receiving our photos went so smoothly. Josh was amazing at knowing what shots would look best, and still making sure it was what we wanted. As someone is who very camera shy he made me feel very relaxed with our more posed shots. He captured our day perfectly and was great to work with. The turn around was also incredible, he emailed us our completed photos before we even finished the honeymoon. I would highly recommend!

We were truly impressed with Josh Mariana and his crew (Dan, Jess and Jim) as they shot pictures and video at my daughter’s wedding on Saturday, 8-18-18. Our house is small; having a bride, parents/family and attendants (and big dresses!) in our home made things a bit tight. Adding 4 more people with cameras and gear - one would think - would have made things totally cramped. But it wasn't. They all just did what they had to do, worked around all of us, and made it very easy for us. Honestly, I hardly knew they were around. They all were extremely professional, and made me and everyone else feel very comfortable. We had such a good time in the bride's room at church. Although we were just introduced to Jess about an hour or two earlier, we all found her to fit in quite nicely; she went with what was happening at the moment -- the excitement, laughter, tears, and fun. I know she got it all! I have been to weddings/services where photographers are all over the place and are quite distracting. It was great not to be distracted at all by Josh and his crew at Mass -- I was able to focus my attention on the ceremony. Once we got to the reception, I lost sight of our photographers altogether (in a good way!). We were so pleased with how things went with Josh and his team; they were all very easy-going, professional, inconspicuous, and great to work with. We can’t wait to see the pictures which are to be available in less than a week from the wedding. Josh did the photography for my July 28th wedding. My photos were up within a matter of days and when I saw them my jaw dropped. They were absolutely amazing! We took staged photos and Josh also took many candid shots. I have never seen such quality of work in both the candid and staged space. His work is impeccable. I’ve gotten so many compliments from family as to the quality of these photos. I chose him based on reviewing the portfolio of work on his site, but you never know if photographers really cherry pick those shots. In his case, I got exactly the high quality photos that I expected. I highly recommend Josh for your photography needs.

my husband and I couldn't be more happy with how our wedding video turned out! it captured each moment of our special day so perfectly and I watch it so frequently! it is so nice to have the 8-10 minute video to music, rather than watching hours and hours of a wedding video. the staff were professional and fun! we could barely even tell they were there. Josh, the owner, was so amazing to work with! He was always there to help and answer emails in record timing! my husband's grandma passed away a month after the wedding, and Josh was nice enough to have his team put together a special video tribute of her. they go above and beyond for their clients and you won't regret choose Mariana Filmworks for your wedding day!

Josh and his team are so professional, courteous and their work is excellent quality! Josh provided timely and personal consulting from the very beginning. He was organized and really knew what he was doing. He provided us great ideas and really listened to what we wanted. During the wedding day, Josh brought an extra assistant even though it was not included in our contract. He wanted to make sure that we had the best coverage during the day. And they stayed longer than we originally agreed as well. The videographer was also wonderful! I couldn't be happier with the results. The photos are absolutely gorgeous! Was both casual and professional the whole night. Even with bad weather we were able to get a fair amount of outdoors shots. Everything felt fluid and not rushed, and the shots came out fantastic. Would definitely recommend them for any wedding or other event.

If you are looking for a photographer who can offer the full package, look no further! From our first skype meeting, Josh was extremely professional and easy to get a long with. His company offers photography, videography, and a photobooth which were all must haves for our wedding! It was convenient to have everything through one company! One of the things I enjoyed the most about Josh was his ability to make us laugh and feel comfortable throughout our engagement shoot and the day of our wedding. Our photos have us laughing instead of forced smiles. You can really tell the difference in the photos. He is prompt with emails and very easy to communicate with. I wouldn't change anything about working with Josh.

Josh Mariana recently photographed my daughters engagement and wedding. Everything turned out absolutely beautiful from the save the date, the engagement photos, to the guest book, to the wedding/reception! After meeting with several photographers we were frustrated as most seemed to have confusing packages and were unwilling to customize & had egos. We booked Josh in our meeting with him because he came across as professional but relaxed, and his packages were so simple and easy to understand. He was also willing to customize one of his packages and was very accommodating with a tricky step-parent situation. Our engagement photos, save the date magnets and guestbook were all amazing, but we were even more thrilled with our wedding photos! Other than the family and bridal party photo time, we barely noticed Josh and Rebekah throughout the day, yet somehow they managed to capture moment after precious moment. The photos really do tell the story of our wedding day! Some of the reception/dancing photos had us laughing out loud, and they were so bright and crisp despite our venue being very dark. We also booked videography through Josh's other company, Mariana Filmworks, and the video team was just as professional and relaxed as Josh and Rebekah were. I highly recommend Josh and his team! I have told everyone I know who's getting married about them, and I can't wait to use Josh again in the future for photos as our family grows!

I was in a wedding last June, and Josh was the photographer. I was just planning my proposal to my now wife (married 9/24/16), was not even engaged yet, but after watching how professional, talented, and fun Josh was, I knew I wanted him for our big day as well. He was our first e-mail when we got engaged -- we just had to have him! Our engagement pictures at the University of Pittsburgh were amazing, Josh made us feel comfortable and even worked in our dog Han. We also did a "Love Story" video through his videography company (Mariana Filmworks), which was something so different and special - our friends and family (and, most importantly, the two of us) loved it. Throughout planning, he was constantly reaching out and made everything so easy -- no question was a dumb question. On the big day, Josh and his entire team did an outstanding job. They were never in the way, kept my bride calm and happy, and made the whole picture process one of the best/most fun parts of our day. I highly recommend Josh and can't wait to work with him again in the future for other big events!

I absolutely cannot say enough good things about Josh and his team. From my first e-mail inquiry, Josh made me feel comfortable and calm. At our engagement shoot (where we also did a "love story" video through Mariana Filmworks with his team -- highly recommend, everyone loved ours!), Josh made sure we felt relaxed and were having fun. He let us include our puppy, Han Solo, and really captured the essence of "us". On the wedding day, Josh's team was again a calming force. While they made sure they captured every moment, they were never "in our faces" which I love -- I hate when all anyone can see during the ceremony/reception is the photographer and/or videographer constantly in the way! The post ceremony pictures, which can often be tedious and boring, was a fun experience for our entire bridal party - we all could not stop smiling and laughing. We left the location for pictures up to Josh, and he nailed it with the Hot Metal Bridge -- close to our venue, and got the gorgeous Pittsburgh skyline in the background. Clearly, I could go on and on and on. I would recommend Josh in a heartbeat and we cannot wait to work with him again in the future!

Josh provided a great service throughout the whole experience. Very flexible with our ideas and provided a lot of input on what would work best on the day. Josh and Rebekah were good sports and very professional on the day and the photos turned out even better than we'd hoped! We chose to work with Josh mostly because of his professionalism and demeanor. We wanted someone who would be enjoyable and pleasant to work with, had the task covered and we wouldn't have to worry about anything, and bring a sense of calm to an otherwise hectic day. We looked at several photographers in the area including Josh and after evaluating it was clear Josh was our best option. He offered at complete package (engagement, wedding, video) at a very fair rate and his style was exactly what we were looking for. After we started working with Josh for our engagement session it was clear we made the correct choice. He worked with us on a short time line as we traveled to Pittsburgh from out of state and took incredible engagement photos. After he was professional and walked us through our save the dates and guest vook. The results were fantastic. At the wedding Josh and his team showed up early and we're accommodating to every photo / set up we wanted, and we're unobtrusive throughout the ceremony. Afterwords there was an incredible turnaround on the photos (6 days) and video (8 days). We were very impressed with all of the photoa and the video was a great way for us to see all of the details and fun that's it's hard to capture on your wedding day. Overall our experience was fantastic. Everything was great price, product, availability, professionalism. I cannot recommend Josh with enough enthusiasm.

Josh did our engagement session, wedding photography and videography for our event on 10/3/15. He did an amazing job getting both formal and candid pictures. He got to know us as a couple at our engagement session and fit our style very well by the wedding. Our package came with a photo guest book with pictures from our engagement session, a photo album with our wedding pictures, a wedding high lights video and a $200 print credit. Everything turned out amazing and he even got our wedding pictures and video back to us within 2 weeks of our wedding. He brings a female assistant with him to the wedding so she can take pictures of the bridal party getting ready without making them uncomfortable, he responds to calls and emails within a day, and had overall great customer service. I couldn't of imagined a better photographer to work with and highly recommend Josh to others.
