Joy's Cake Studio

Joy created the perfect wedding cake for our October wedding. The tasting that she provided remains our favorite part of wedding planning. It was hard to decide on one of the amazing flavors, so we ended up getting two different flavors for our three-tiered cake. We chose the chocolate with buttercream and pumpkin with orange cream cheese. I would also highly recommend the raspberry with lemon. We didn't want a cake with fondant because we don't like the taste and we wanted cascading fall leaves instead of flowers. Joy created a sketch from our ideas that was exactly what I had envisioned, then she created a cake that was more beautiful that I could have imagined. My husband and I both have very opinionated grandmothers, and they both gave the cake their highest compliments. Joy was extremely easy to work with and very reasonably priced. She has a talent for making a cake that not only looks beautiful, but is also delicious. I would highly recommend her to any bride.

Joy is absolutely the best! She was not my first cake tasting, but as soon as I met Joy, I loved her, and as soon as I tasted her samplings, I wanted to sign on the dotted line. She made everything so easy. Her cakes are amazingly tasty and her talent is extraordinary! I tried to describe what I had in mind, and her design turned out even more perfect that I imagined. I cannot say enough about Joy and her wonderful cakes. Our guests are still talking about our wedding cake and grooms cake. I just need to find another reason to order more cakes from Joy!!!

I can't tell you how much I was in love with both of my wedding cakes from Joy's Cake Studio. Joy took my vision and made it come to life. She was so professional and her talent is out of this world. They were more like works of art than cakes. Her cakes were the talk of my reception. The best moment at my wedding was seeing my husband's face when he saw his surprise groom's cake. I can't thank her enough for the beautiful memories she added to our special day. I will definitely be using her for our other family events in the future.

Friends referred us to Joy and we do the same with others. I initially wanted georgetown cupcakes for our wedding, but didn't want to deal with the logistics of getting them to my rural virginia wedding location. I am so glad now that I heard about Joy because she offered so much more. I gave her the theme and ideas for what we were looking for and she artistically presented us with some wonderful taste/decoration combinations that really worked for us! Not only was our tasting experience incredible, but she was such a blessing to meet and work with. The "icing on the cake" was her free delivery within 25 miles. Her staff delivered everything beautifully and coordinated it all (perhaps with my day-of coordinator) in a way that I was never bothered, but instead simply delighted with great wedding cake/cupcakes exactly as we ordered. The only reason that I could not rate the quality a 5 is because the one cupcake I ate at my reception was slightly lacking on moisure (was a tab bit dry), but my guests are still raving about the cupcakes!!! Joy is awesome. I highly recommend her for any of your event needs!

Joy was great to work with. She asked me all the right questions to determine exactly what I wanted and presented several sketches to choose from. She also has a wide variety of yummy flavors for the cakes. She made everything so easy and I didn't have to worry about a thing in the midst of the rest of the wedding planning. She also made an awesome grooms cake of the 17th hole at TPC Sawgrass for my golf loving husband! The cakes arrived in perfect condition and were gorgeous! The guests devoured them and we didn't have a crumb left over. Joy is so talented and I would trust her to make a cake for me for any occasion - she's amazing!

Joy's grooms cake reproduction of my husband's fire helmet on top of a coiled fire hose was a huge hit! Not only did it taste incredible (The bottom was dark chocolate cake with Khalua frosting, and the top was carrot cake with cream cheese frosting) but the firefighters were speechless. People couldn't stop talking about the realistic detail - the texture of the hose, the 'water' on the board, and my husband was actually comparing the wear on his actual helmet to the marks on the cake because they were so realistic. We did not have a traditional wedding cake, but would not have hesitated to order it Joy if we had. Joy was a pleasure to work with - very responsive to emails and helpful in coordinating both the design of the cake and delivery to the rehearsal dinner venue. Her office in Ashburn is a little out of the way, but once we got there the tasting ran incredibly smoothly. Joy brought four flavors to taste, based on my flavor requests and including one of her suggestions that we ultimately chose (the chocolate and khalua!) She also had some suggestions for cake construction to meet the needs of our group (Given the number of people we expected, she made the hose out of Styrofoam instead of cake to save us money) I can't say enough great things about Joy and her cake - excellent taste, incredible decorations and amazing customer service. We will definitely be using her for our cake needs in the future, and I absolutely recommend her services, without any hesitation.

All I can say is Joy is AMAZING!! She was so wonderful to work with and she is very reasonable priced. She came to my house for our cake tasting. She brought good size pieces of cake for us to try. I love that she also makes her own fondant. Another reason why her cakes taste so good! Once we picked out what we wanted for our cake, we worked on the design. I gave her some ideas of what I wanted and she came up with an amazing design! The best part was the groom’s cake she made. My husband is a pro. Boxer and so I wanted her to make a grooms cake that looked like his boxing gloves. She took some pictures of his gloves and went home to draw up a design. When she showed me a picture of what she came up with, I Loved it. But when I saw the cake the day of the rehearsal dinner, I was floored. It was better than I could ever imagine! I could not stop smiling! When he saw it, he couldn't not believe it was a cake. Everyone was taking so many pictures of this totally amazing cake. I had a hard time when it came to cutting the cake, but it was worth it because it also tasted out of this world!! Both cakes Joy made for our wedding were the most amazing looking cakes and tasted so good as well! Everyone was talking about how good the cakes were. I love food so it was important that the cake tasted as good as it looked and she nailed it! I would recommend Joy to anyone looking to have a cake that everyone will talk about for a long time. Next time I need a cake for an event I know who I will be calling!!

I highly recommend Joy to design your personalized cake for any special occassion. I hired her to design my wedding cake and also a unique birthday cake. She was originally recommended to me by a friend, and she definitley lived up to and exceeded expectations. She was very easy to work with, and I was very impressed with how well she sketched up multiple cake design options for me to view so that we could determine the style I liked best. She was very receptive to any feedback I had, and I ended up with a fabulous cake. In total, I have seen and eaten three of her cakes. All three were very different in style, but all three had a great taste. From each of the three events that I have been a part of where her cake has been served, her cake has received numerous compliments from many people, not only for its great taste, but also on its great presentation - Joy set up and provided everything. Her price was very reasonable and I plan to call her for the next cake I need.
