I was blown away with how beautiful the photos from our wedding day were. JP worked very hard to capture lovely pictures. It rained a little on our wedding day, but you couldn't tell it from the pictures. They were fabulous! JP was very nice and a huge help on our wedding day. I took bridal portraits with JP before my wedding, and the photos were just as stunning as our wedding day pictures. JP was prompt in responding to me and a joy to work with. You will not be disappointed if you hire him!

My husband and I made photography one of our biggest priorities for our wedding. We wanted to have spectacular photographs that would take us back to our day and each special moment every time we looked at them. Well... we got our wish and more! From the beginning, JP was a pleasure to work with. He has always been responsive, kind, and down-to-earth. We got to know JP better through an engagement session and a bridal portrait session, and by the time the wedding day rolled around, we felt like we were catching up with a friend! JP and his wife Teresa photographed our wedding day, and they were such warm, calming presences. They worked thoughtfully and efficiently, and the wedding party loved working with them, too! Looking at the photographs, I'm in awe of the attention to details - lighting, colors, and staging. The talent and vision have blown me away! The quick turnaround for photographs also impressed me - our wedding teasers (a whopping 74 photographs) arrived within 48 hours, and our whole wedding collection arrived less than 6 weeks after the big day, even with holidays in between. I am SO impressed, and receiving the collection so soon was a wonderful surprise. My husband and I are so thankful for our beautiful photographs, and we have had such a special experience reliving our best day ever thanks to JP and Teresa.

There are not enough characters in this post to say all the wonderful things about JP Pratt that should be said! From our first conversation with JP, my husband and I felt like we were talking to an old friend. JP went above and beyond to make sure that we felt comfortable and had all our questions answered. He even came up to DC where we live to do our engagement session which was so special and such a great way to get to know him. On our wedding day, his wife, Teresa, was his second photographer and she was just as spectacular. They made us and our entire wedding party so comfortable and really made an effort to let us enjoy our wedding as much as possible while still making time for photos. The photos from JP are outstanding and he has an incredible way of capturing great candid shots, especially of our guests on the dance floor! Not only does JP deliver phenomenal photos, but he is such a pleasure to work with!

JP was amazing from start to finish! We found JP and fell in love with his work before we even found a venue or officially set our date in fact when I found my venue I made sure to pick a date that he would be available . While I knew I loved his work before I reached out to him I also wanted someone who would help my husband and I feel at ease during the process. After our first consultation phone call I knew he would be perfect to work with, and he was! There are no words to express how grateful I am to have worked with JP from engagements to bridals to finally the wedding day JP captured every day perfectly, never seemed stressed and always had an answer or solution to any question I had. Your photographer is one of the most important vendors that you will book on your wedding day - JP Pratt is the best, so if you see this review and are considering him, go ahead and book him! We first found out about JP through our planner and he was the second vendor we booked for our wedding. From our intro / get to know you call to the wedding day, JP has been nothing less than perfection. He is an excellent communicator and was helpful in navigating any questions I had in advance of the wedding (e.g., bridesmaid dress colors that would photograph well, timeline questions, venue scouting, picture locations) and was always prompt and helpful. JP was there for us every step of the way from when we booked, and we are so lucky to have had him. He helped us finalize the timeline in terms of photography and where people needed to be / when. He knew every detail from logistics to family photos to navigating tricky situations with groupings of families. JP spent an hour with us capturing our rehearsal dinner, which was a great way to get to know him and have him capture out closest friends and family and details of that night. On the wedding day, he showed up energized and ready to go. He really helped keep us on track throughout the day, get pictures done quickly and efficiently, and made the day fun. We are not natural in front of the camera, and he helped to direct us and make us feel comfortable. He felt like a friend by the time he left the rehearsal dinner! JP's photos are truly gorgeous and something we will treasure forever. He captured all the moments, big and small, and the pictures are bright, happy, and overall perfection. When I woke up the day after our wedding, we already had a teaser with several photos from our wedding. It was great to share with family, friends, and social media before the rest of the pictures arrived a few weeks later! JP is the gold standard for wedding photography. When we saw his talent, we knew we had to have him as our wedding photographer. In fact, we wouldn’t even book our wedding venue until we knew he was available on our potential date. Looking back, hiring him was the best decision in building our wedding team. JP is professional, an excellent communicator, punctual, creative, and just a kind human. Before meeting JP we had never had any professional photos taken together. JP did such a phenomenal job of helping to guide us in our portraits and his personality truly put us at ease, resulting in gorgeous, effortless photos! We ended up working with JP on four different occasions for photos and every single time he was wonderful and the photos he delivered were beautiful. JP takes the time to get to know you as a couple which makes taking photos with him fun and easy. We had to postpone our wedding two different times because of the pandemic and JP was so flexible and supportive of our changes, which truly meant the world at such a stressful time. At our wedding we met his wife, Teresa (second shooter), and she was amazing! She too has such an artistic eye for photography and detail and is just the sweetest person. JP and Teresa work beautifully together which made our wedding day pictures run so smoothly. I would highly recommend checking their availability before you book your venue. JP and Teresa are truly the best! We had such an amazing experience with them from our engagement shoot to our wedding day. JP did an amazing job at shooting our Biltmore wedding and the photos are STUNNING. The Biltmore is such a large venue, we had 20 people in our wedding party, and almost a 300 person wedding, and JP handled it was such ease!! I am so beyond thankful to have been able to get to know JP and Teresa and have pictures that are perfect in every way. My husband and I first met JP and Teresa over the phone and we clicked instantly. Choosing a wedding photographer was the most important part of wedding planning for me because wedding photos are the one thing that last forever and I wanted to make sure that they were perfect. As soon as we started talking to JP and Teresa I knew it was a match. It was as if we were instantly friends with them--they are so genuine and easy to get along with! I also had a ton of questions and wanted to see several galleries that JP had previously done, and they were both very accommodating and I had zero worries. Our engagement photos were included as part of our wedding package and we had a blast with JP. It was so much fun working with him and again, just so easy to be ourselves! We were genuinely interested in getting to know him better as a person throughout our engagement and felt that the feeling was reciprocated. JP also always made sure that we were happy with our shots. Even in our engagement photos JP made sure to ask us what look we wanted and if there were any shots we absolutely needed to have (which he also did on our wedding). Words can't even begin to explain how amazing of a job JP and Teresa did at capturing our wedding. We had a large bridal party with a ton of energy and they came prepared and matched our enthusiasm. You can see in our photos how happy and how much fun we all had during the getting ready process and the wedding party photos. JP and Teresa did a wonderful job at organizing and setting up our shots. They both are so attentive to details and have a good vision that I didn't have to worry at all. Our wedding day was peak summer in North Carolina so it was hot and humid... add a heavy wedding gown and a suit and we were sweating during our photos. But JP was so helpful in making sure we got all the shots we needed in one location before moving on to help minimize how much we were sweating from walking around. Teresa was an absolute angel because she helped me wipe my sweat and also was the BIGGEST hype woman ever! It can get tiring smiling for pictures over and over again especially when it is hot out, but Teresa had a way of commenting on how great we looked, or that the shot was beautiful that made the process so easy. They both did little things like that on our wedding day that were just so comforting and made it so much fun to be with them! JP sent us a sneak peak to our gallery within 3 (!!) days of our wedding. I was so surprised and happy that he took the time to edit some of the photos so quickly. Our entire wedding gallery is stunning. It is better than I could have ever dreamed of! Our friends and family have not stopped talking about how stunning the photos are and how amazing JP and Teresa are, both professionally and personally. I will forever recommend JP to everyone I know and we will continue to use JP for any future photography that we want. JP Pratt is truly the best photographer you could ever dream of to shoot your wedding day!!!

JP Pratt is absolutely amazing!! There are not enough great things I can say about him as a person and a photographer. He made us feel so comfortable and natural from day 1 and I can truly say he captured us as a couple perfectly. He took the time to get to know us and became a friend. After having to reschedule our wedding 3 times, thanks to the pandemic, he was so kind and flexible in working with us. We also had a rather large wedding party and he was so helpful and efficient when organizing pictures and the whole day of schedule, locations, etc. I am so grateful for JP and all the memories he captured and how I can re live the day through the beautiful pictures forever. My wedding day was beyond amazing- and JP beautifully captured every moment. I cannot thank him enough for the gorgeous… and I mean gorgeous photos!! I’m an awkward turtle who never knows where to look and he directs gently while making sure you are having the time of your life! I had full faith in him and he most certainly delivered. I always felt like he made us feel special! He had two large weddings in one weekend and took care to highlight each one so that there wasn’t a “main wedding” and a “second wedding!” It’s the little things that truly go a long way. Book JP! There aren't enough words to describe how happy and grateful I am that JP was our wedding photographer! The minute I saw his pictures I knew I wanted him at our wedding. I first reached out to JP in October of 2018, and since then he has not only been a wonderful, professional vendor, but an amazing person. He helped us get through our awkwardness of doing our engagement photos and made them look incredible. He was so flexible and kind when we had to reschedule our wedding TWICE due to the pandemic. JP is not only talented but he has this ability to make you feel so comfortable and fun when in the presence of a Camera! I knew JP does light and natural photography which is what I wanted. I wanted classic not necessarily heavily filtered photos! JP does a phenomenal job capturing your day the way it actually is; not just to get good photos, and he does this all while providing you photos that could be published in magazines! He is not only a good photographer but such a good person as well!!

When thinking about how I wanted my wedding day to be captured, I knew I wanted someone who did not over-edit, let natural beauty shine, and was able to capture the serious and candid moments. We met JP for the first time face-to-face for our engagement pictures in the fall of 2019. We felt like we had known JP for much longer! His fun and warm personality made us feel at ease and you can see this in our pictures. His photography knowledge and professionalism were exhibited during my bridal portraits at a venue he had never shot at before. His eye for the proper lighting, background, and angle of the bride are unmatched. When it came to our wedding day, JP and his wife, captured our big day in a way that we can relive it every time we look through our pictures.

After a long search for a photographer, we found JP, and we could not have been more thrilled with our choice. JP was very easy to work with in many senses. He knows how to work with his clients to help them get the best poses and photos. He makes the photoshoot process fun and not stressful. He makes scheduling easy and is very organized in his approach to the wedding day and preparation for it. He made it a priority to get the photos that we wanted , but also used his artistic license to capture some truly beautiful moments. He delivered the photos on time, but also gave some teasers early on in the process to help share our day even earlier. Be sure to have plenty of hard drive space available, because you will want to keep each and every photo. My wife and I would 100% recommend JP to anybody looking for a professional photographer for their wedding.

I can’t even begin to explain how thankful we are that we booked JP as our photographer. His photos are obviously incredible, but what makes JP stand out from other photographers is how genuine he is and how easy he is to connect with. From the first conversation we had with him, he made an effort to learn about us and get to know us. From our engagement session to our wedding day, he felt like a friend. We had to reschedule our engagement session last minute due to weather and JP was so kind, flexible, and helped us find the perfect locations to take photos. He even let us use two different locations for our engagement session so we had a billion amazing photos with incredible backgrounds!! We had a small, intimate wedding, and took our wedding photos at a nearby park. JP made a public park look like a million bucks (he is a true miracle worker!!). Him and his wonderful wife Teresa are an incredible team and have such an eye to make every photo perfect. They are the kind of photographers that you can fully trust to capture your wedding day and give you photos to treasure forever. JP will make an effort to get to know you and your fiancé as people, not just clients for business. That kind of intentionality is rare but makes JP the best photographer you can pick. We cannot recommend JP enough!!

We absolutely LOVE JP's work, personality, photography style, and the way he slips in so many creative shots throughout the day. We couldn't have been more pleased with how everything turned out. We loved how he took time to get to know us and our story before the wedding - showed how much he loves the people he works with. First, let me just say BOOK JP PRATT! Now, I will explain why. We were engaged in December and decided to get married 9 months later in September. Cue the maddening whirlwind of wedding planning. Once we had our date set I knew I wanted to book a photographer first. After meeting JP for coffee we decided it was a no brainer that we wanted him to photograph our engagement pics and wedding and booked him immediately. Then came the pandemic. Of the many vendors that we booked for the wedding, JP was the only one who took the time to reach out to ask how we were doing and asked what he could help us with. During all of the insanity and uncertainty that quarantine had brought us, it meant the absolute world to me. Once we decided that we were going ahead with the wedding, we met for engagement pics (which turned out flawlessly) and we just got married last weekend. From start to finish everything has been such an easy process with JP. He and his wife Teresa, who was our second shooter, have such a calming presence and are so willing to help. In addition to that, every single one of our pictures are to die for. I can't imagine them being any more perfect. They really have a knack for catching us in the moment. If I had to do it all over again, I would book JP over and over again without ever thinking twice.

I absolutely could not have been more impressed with JP from start to finish. As soon as I found JPs photos on his website I knew I needed to have him be a part of our big day! We were planning our wedding in Wake Forest while living in Charlotte, so we set up some time to chat with JP before booking and felt like he understood our vibe immediately. We finally met in person for our engagement photos in Chapel Hill and were so blown away not only by how beautiful the photos were but also how comfortable JP made us feel. We had to postpone our original wedding date due to COVID and JP could not have been more accommodating for both the change in plans for the wedding day but also having to change the plan for my bridal portraits. We got to meet JPs wife Teresa on wedding day and spending the day with them both was just like spending a day catching up with old friends. From start to finish, JP listened and asked what was most important to us. His attention to detail is unparalleled and our photos from every session with him are absolutely phenomenal. We could not be more grateful to have worked with JP and I can say with absolute certainty that our wedding memories would not be the same without him. Photos were one of the most important items to me when planning our wedding, and we hit the ultimate jackpot with JP. It took several weeks to find the perfect photographer, my wedding was held on Long Island, NY. Probably the most friendly, professional and wonderful vendor I have worked with! JP did an amazing job capturing my engagement photo session in Charleston. It was great to have an engagement session before the wedding date to become familiar in front of the camera and how to work with JP. JP came recommended to us for our engagement and wedding pictures from another photographer and we couldn't be happier! Not only are his photos and vision incredible but he is such an amazing person to be around. If you're looking for a laid back, professional, awesome and kickass photographer, I could not recommend JP more highly. He turned our Corona Virus wedding into our dream one. Due to Covid, my husband and I had to change our original plans for a 350+ Chicago wedding and plan a last minute 16 person NC wedding. I had been in contact with JP from the year before because he almost shot our engagement photos. I've always loved his style so I decided to reach out to him about photographing out last minute wedding, just a few months before the date. I cannot describe how great and comfortable he made us feel from the first response we got from him just a few hours after our inquiry. He was so understanding and we planned a phone call right away. In the midst of Corona Virus and all of our plans changing for our dream wedding, I remember feeling like I was going through things a mile a minute. Immediately he made me feel a sense of calm. He is so laid back and flexible and was up for anything. He talked through every detail with excitement and never made my one million questions feel excessive. He was so genuinely interested in learning about Hunter and I, our relationship and our vision for our wedding. On the day of the wedding he arrived right on time, wore a mask and helped create a calmness around a typically stressful atmosphere. He spent a bit of time shooting detail shots and throughout the day somehow never missed any of our favorite interactions. He made a huge impression on my whole family and new exactly what kind of shots he was looking for. It was really helpful when we didn't quite know what to do. Before walking down the aisle we had a bit of time to talk, he is so personable and helped calm family members down when we forgot the veil lol. Hunter and I are definitely planning on using him in the future. He got us our teaser photos back within a week. Just his teaser photos alone were 70+ photos. His style is so beautiful, bright and natural but not washed out. He captures the emotions of the day and makes everything feel timeless. I'm so grateful for him. We received our final photos within the next month of two and we could not be happier! JP is the greatest. He's someone who brings personality, ease and so much fun to your big day!

Leading up to my wedding, there was always one vendor choice that I was very particular about...my photographer. I spent HOURS upon hours researching wedding photographers and somehow (luckily!) stumbled upon JP Pratt. When I came across JP's page, I knew we had found our photographer. I did HOURS of research for the perfect wedding photographer. It was the one thing that I was not willing to compromise on. We found JP on The Knot and knew he would be perfect to capture our big day! JP was an absolute joy to work with! We had our engagement session, bridal portraits, and our wedding photographed by JP! Now, we have so many beautiful pictures, we're going to have to wallpaper our home with them. JP and Teresa are quick and efficient and they make a wonderful team. They quickly got all of the shots that we wanted and got us out of the heat! Teresa was our second shooter and she was constantly making sure that my dress and veil were perfect in every picture. She had an attention to detail that I really appreciated! Besides JP taking gorgeous pictures, he is also so kind and genuine and you feel like you are working with a friend! My wedding party kept saying how comfortable they felt around him and the pictures show it! We loved JP and Teresa and we cannot recommend them enough!

To truly capture JP’s art and work into one Knot review feels a little like I am cheating him because there truly aren’t enough words to express how absolutely amazing he is at what he does. I was that bride who researched for hours on end to find the absolute best wedding photographer. I knew that this was our one big day that could not be redone or recreated and that we had one shot at making sure it was documented to the absolute fullest so when I found JP I knew I had struck gold. Our entire experience from start to finish was seamless. From being flexible with the timing of our engagement shoot, to organizing our wedding day timeline, scouting out our venue so that we had the perfect back drop to every photo, ensuring all of the family and important photos were captured, being timely with edits and albums, and making our entire day a dream come true he went above and beyond to make sure we were taken care of. His wife Teresa was our second shooter and I was blown away by her attention to detail and her kind demeanor that brings a natural calm over you on your wedding day. Coming from a bride’s point of view, she has that female eye that makes sure you look your absolute best. She makes sure your hair is falling correctly over your shoulder, veil and dress edges are lined up perfectly, and flowers are tilted just right for the perfect shot. Having her on the team is a total game changer and I would recommend making sure the two of them be there on the big day. JP has the perfect balance of capturing those in between candid moments and the classic and timeless wedding photos that are an album must have. He somehow finds those natural and sweet times where you have a connection with a bridesmaid, guest, family member, or with your groom and he captures it without you even knowing he did so. Those are the wedding photos you that when you flip through your album you will cherish forever because they instantly transport you back to that exact moment and you remember how you felt and what you were thinking in that split second. Your wedding day goes by quickly and the fact that JP manages to find you in those moments and execute them with such beauty speaks to the highest level of talent and passion for his work. JP Pratt Photography was one of the best decisions we made about our wedding day. From making our engagement shoot fun and exciting in the streets of Winston-Salem to being laser focused and attentive during our big day! JP and his wife Teresa, captured every possible moment we could have hoped and the photos are absolutly stunning! They are truly amazing people and went above and beyond our expectations.

Having JP as our photographer was one of the best decisions we made for our wedding! Photos are such a big deal because of their sentimental value so it was important for me to find a photographer we could trust and who “got” us. JP was that photographer and we could not be any happier with how our photos turned out. He and his team were on time, prepared, and knew what they were doing. They didn’t encourage us to take all of those super posey wedding pictures you see every day. In fact, he was totally open to some ideas I had and made them into incredible photos. I truly consider what he did for us a gift. I will recommend him over and over and over again.

JP was the best we could have asked for. Not just as a photographer but out of all our vendors. From the initial inquiry and throughout the whole process, he was extremely responsive and very accommodating to our schedules, which was a great relief during the high stress times of wedding planning. He traveled all the way to Charleston (while he was living in Florida) to shoot our engagement pictures and scope out our venue for the big day. I was a bit nervous and worried I would look awkward in all the pictures. He assured me that that wouldn’t be the case and he was right. He knows all the tips and tricks to make the shots look natural and most importantly knows how to make you laugh! It was high tide on our wedding night and the dance floor flooded. Everyone took their shoes off, rolled their pants/dresses up and danced all night in the water. JP wasn’t scared to get in on it and did the same and we have some awesome shots because of it! Our wedding day was the most perfect day ever and I’m so thankful JP was there to capture all the beautiful pictures and great memories to look back on!

After my husband and I got engaged, we quickly realized how intimidating planning a wedding can be! We decided that if we were to have the wedding of our dreams, but also avoid getting caught up in the stress, we were going to have to prioritize choosing our vendors based upon the integrity of the business and the genuine connection that we felt with the owner/manager. After speaking with many photographers we were left feeling as though the "production" aspect of the wedding industry was threatening to detract meaning from the intimate day that my husband and I wanted above all else. Y’all I don’t even know where to begin! From the first email, to the actual wedding day, and even to the weeks after the wedding, JP has been amazing! He is so kind and patient and really makes you feel so comfortable throughout the entire process! Not to mention his pictures are to die for :) JP took time to get to know us and listen to what we wanted. We could not have asked for a better person to photograph the happiest day of our lives! JP is amazing at using natural light to capture the perfect shots. Oh where do we begin with JP?! My husband and I had quite the adventure after we got engaged dealing with a lot of personal family stuff making the wedding planning process extra challenging.
