If there was one thing that we did right, it was to hire Jake as our photographer for our wedding. Our photos turned out amazing (https://www.jppstudios.com/blog/chicago-wedding-photographers-the-zephyr-stephanie-luke), but he was also incredibly great to work with. In the months leading up to our wedding, he made sure to regularly check in with us to see if we had any questions or needed anything. He met with us in person to make sure that we were aligned on our most important photos and general plan for the wedding day. His contracting process was incredibly smooth and transparent as well. On the actual day of the wedding, Jake held a perfect balance of directing our wedding party and family into the important shots (while also capturing a ton of candids) without ever seeming bossy. He seemlessly integrated himself into the our itinerary and captured photos throughout our entire day. We had a few last minute changes to our original plans (it rained), and he rolled with them all. Afterwards, Jake was still incredibly great at communication. He got us our sneak peek (which had way more photos than we would've ever anticipated) on our honeymoon. He also gave us our fully edited package of hundreds of photos within a few weeks of our wedding date. Aside from all of his professionalism and artistic touches, we could not be happier with the photos that Jake delivered. He did an amazing job of capturing both the photos that we wanted ahead of time, but also tons of candids that are really special to us. I could not recommend him enough for any wedding photography needs!

Jake was so flexible with our ever changing plans due to the unknown of covid initially. He was very accommodating, even when we changed dates, and then ultimately venues. He was also agreeable to adding a second photographer, and then ultimately removing it when we downsized. He was easy to get along with, and my husband and I got along with him from the start. His candid photos were amazing, and we received the edited photos quicker than he promised (probably due to us being his first wedding since the shut down). Highly recommend!

Jake photographed our wedding in August, 2019. We met with him before the event to be sure we shared the same vision. Jake has a very creative and artistic eye. His style is that of a documentarian. We didn’t do a photo of every table at the wedding. There are probably some people who did not make it into a photo. But the photos he took are beautiful and authentic and capture the true essence of our wedding. And he moves quietly like a cat. I seriously forgot he was there. Even the most camera shy people were so comfortable with him. We made the right choice with our photographer!

We booked Jake for our wedding, and we could not have been happier with our choice! He was extremely responsive to emails, met with us a few times to make sure we shared the same vision, and most importantly did a wonderful job with our photos! On the day of the wedding, he was just a blast to be around as well. And of course the pictures themselves: they were amazing. We've shared with family and friends and have heard from almost everyone that we really lucked out because they were the best wedding pictures they've ever seen! But we know we didn't "luck out' - we just hired Jake who is a truly amazing at what he does. On our wedding day, we had un-forecasted rain and had to change our plan of photography locations, and Jake took actions to make sure our photographs actually somehow looked BETTER with the rain! His photographs are beautiful and we would highly recommend him as a wedding photographer!
