Crave was excellent! The communication in advance was phenomenal. I'm a wedding planner and can't express how grateful I am. Dylan was always quick to respond and thorough. Food was yummy and the family style service was great. No matter how well planned, events can be unpredictable but the Crave team stepped up and rose to the occasion. We loved working with Bo and John Ross Music for our wedding! They are very organized and it was easy to fill out the form they provided for must have music vs. do not play songs. We were able to keep updating it as we thought of new songs we loved. Everyone was so impressed with our music throughout the whole day. Bo played live for our ceremony and even learned some specific songs we requested. It was unforgettable! When it came to the reception, Bo was just as impressive, if not more! He checked in with us throughout the event to make sure we were happy or to see if we thought a specific song would excite the crowd. My parents and relatives commented that the sound level was perfect! They could have conversations and still enjoy the music. We had the best time and Bo made sure everyone else did as well. The John Ross Music team was absolutely amazing from start to finish. Daniel was our DJ/musician and was absolutely incredible. He coordinated with us every step of the way and was super communicative, as was the whole team. My siblings are musicians and he helped us incorporate them into the ceremony and was so open to letting them play. He and the team went so above and beyond. When we couldn't find an arrangement for our processional song with the right instruments, they literally created an arrangement for us. I truly couldn't recommend them enough. My husband and I agree that the music was one of the best parts of our wedding day.

John Ross was the best. He was a dream to work with. He spends time with you before the event to get to know you and understand what you envision for your event. Then, the day of, he knocks it out of the ballpark. He is far more than a DJ. He ran the audio during the event, kindly recorded the speeches so we could have them as keepsakes, and helped keep the event going as scheduled. He can read the crowd to know precisely what to play to keep the event fun and joyous.

We loved working with John Ross Music & Production for our wedding. They came highly recommended from several of our vendors, and we can easily see why. The company as a whole was so easy to work with, and we found just what we were looking for by selecting their unique combination of a live musician and DJ service. Dillon, the artist that we selected, most closely matched our musical tastes, which we were able to determine by listening to a sample of his work directly on the website. Dillon far exceeded our expectations, and we couldn’t be happier that we hired him. He was incredibly accommodating, friendly, and a calming presence, which is rare in the wedding industry. Working with him was so easy. Not only was he a wonderful musician and singer, but also a fantastic DJ. We asked him to perform for our first dance song specifically because we knew his talent would be more impactful than a prerecorded track. What amazed us about Dillon, however, was how he went above and beyond what we asked him to do for us. He not only introduced the speakers at the wedding, but he listened closely to the speeches and actually played one of our favorite bands that was referenced in a story that the best man spoke about! He seamlessly incorporated all the songs we wanted played throughout the evening even if they spanned multiple and significantly different genres. We asked him to only take requests if it fit with the vibe and he did so perfectly! Each song transitioned smoothly into the next. Dillon found a way to play music that kept all generations dancing. We had a packed dance floor all night even in the late summer heat! We strongly recommend Dillon and the John Ross Music & Production Company for your big day.

We can't say enough how happy we were with John. John did live music during dinner and then the DJ/music for the reception. He was very easy to work with throughout the process and tailored his music to our style and requests. We had a specific vibes we wanted throughout the night, changing as the night went on, and he could not have been more on point. He worked with our music preferences and had our guests dancing, having fun and complimenting the music all night. His demeanor is very fun and relaxed and that came through during the night. He also worked with the groom on a surprise for the bride and pulled it off better than we could have imagined. John made the reception a party one for the ages and we are so happy to have been able to work with him.

Had a great experience working with Dillon (DJ) and Jenny (Admin) from the John Ross team for our wedding last month. From booking to final coordination every step of the way felt simple. Their questionnaire was perfect to compile every last detail about song choices and vibe. I had picked what I thought was a semi-obscure song for walking down the aisle and there was never even a question of it being played. I had a last minute song change for one of our parent dances and that was easily fixed. They also compiled our ceremony audio and speeches recorded for us to have. Dillon made the night so much fun and did a great job reading the dance floor. Definitely recommend working with the John Ross team.

We had an absolutely amazing experience with our wedding DJ, Andrew from John Ross Music! Not only did he keep the party going all night long, but he also went above and beyond to make our wedding truly special. Andrew played the guitar and sang our first dance song, which was an unforgettable moment. He also worked with us to include songs from my cultural background into the mix of songs, which was a very thoughtful and appreciated gesture. Michael Blake and Jenny were awesome to work with! We hopped on two Zoom calls with Michael over the course of planning and he patiently answered all of our questions and helped us plan. The form they have you fill out with all of your music picks is also super helpful to help plan the ceremony and reception order. We received many compliments (especially in the dinner music section--Michael picked music that sounded exactly like "us"). Overall, would highly recommend Michael and John Ross Music, it was a great experience. :)

Chaz was perfect! He was on time, set up - everything worked, announcements were perfect, and did a great job with music selections (based on minimal input.) would totally hire again! Thanks for doing such a great job as our DJ!

Chaz Van Queen was our DJ/musician/MC for our wedding & we truly could have not asked for a better person to work with. He is so incredibly talented as a performer & also was SUCH a fun person to work with. He knew his stuff and boy did he keep our party going!! All of our guests still talk about how amazing and fun he was during our reception. John was also so helpful during the entire wedding planning process & made sure that we were very well taken care of. I would recommend using this company 11/10 times. Bo Baskoro was our musician and DJ for our wedding and he really did the most killer job. His live renditions of songs were absolutely beautiful, and his energy as MC and DJ were just what we needed. We felt personally cared for and his warm personality felt like he could have been one of our friends. Before we met Bo, we worked with Jenny at John Ross Music to get organized for the wedding. She provided quick and clear responses to any questions we had. She was a pleasure to work with! I would recommend John Ross Music to anyone planning their wedding in the Portland area!

So happy we chose John Ross for our wedding. It is so unique to have a DJ who can also sing and play an instrument. He performed amazing instrumentals of our favorite songs when we walked down the aisle. He has his own setlist you can choose for him to perform live songs from, or you can pay $50 to have him learn a new song. He sang and played guitar for our first dance and it felt like we were at a private concert! He has a great voice and we got lots of compliments from our guests! He was super professional with the announcements, flexible about last minute changes to the timeline, and did great DJing using our preferred setlist. Highly recommended, his experience definitely shows, couldn’t imagine anyone doing a better job!

John Ross and his team are amazing and so fun to work with! We hired John and some string instrument players for our June wedding and they were phenomenal. The amount of songs they know and the fact they they play live AND DJ was just incredible. I highly recommend!!! Thanks again, John!

John Ross is the best in the biz. We hired John himself to DJ our wedding and could not be happier with that decision! John was so amazing to work with and made the entire process a breeze. He even met with us in person to go over our timeline, playlists, and music choices. 10/10 recommend John Ross for your big day!!

Our experience with John Ross Music, and our DJ/musician, Bo Baskaro, was phenomenal from start to finish. We knew choosing our DJ was much more important than it can initially seem- this person is keeping everything moving, reading the room, setting the tone for the dance party. Bo was truly the perfect choice for us. The man's voice- OMG! We were able to incorporate some really special and unique songs into our ceremony that he learned for us, and for one of our parental dances. It made everything personal on a completely different level, and be an aspect of our wedding day that I will forever treasure. Plus, Bo is just kind and fun- he has such a positive attitude- at one point, it was obvious that I was disappointed that timeline got off and our dance party got started late...Bo came up to me, filled me in on how everyone was mingling and enjoying dessert (while we did sunset photos), and no one was missing a thing. Then we got that party started. It made me feel so much better, and we had such a fun party that I only wish had lasted longer. The packages for John Ross Music were reasonable when compared to others, and I really felt we got everything we wanted out of it without having to add extras. They're pros, you cannot go wrong!

We hired Daniel with John Ross as our DJ/musician and were blown away by his talent!! He was able to play the piano during our ceremony, provide vocals during cocktail hour while continuing to play the piano, and switch to guitar for a live mother/son dance - and in addition to being able to just do all these things he executed all the songs phenomenally. John Ross also provided us with a wonderful cellist for the ceremony. The company was very helpful and professional in the months leading up to the wedding and were able to accommodate a last minute first dance change just days before the ceremony. Cannot thank them enough for being a part of our big day!

John Ross has every music option you could possibly want for your big day. I was worried I would need to hire two separate vendors to get both live music and DJ music, but John Ross was the complete package. We specifically desired a piano for our ceremony and the office manager, Jenny, was so helpful in providing musicians who owned and played the piano. Our musician was Daniel, who was fun, upbeat, and immeasurably talented. Our venue did not have a piano so Daniel brought his own. We also requested a personal instrumental song for our ceremony that was originally played by a stringed orchestra, and Daniel went out of his way to learn it on the piano. This company is truly amazing and their musicians are phenomenal!

Huge thanks to Kelly from John Ross for an amazing performance at our wedding! I was sold on John Ross Music once I saw on their website that these talented musicians can perform live in the ceremony AND DJ during the reception. Kelly was one of my first choices after listening to the audio samples on the website and I was so thrilled that he was available on our wedding day. We love how flexible John Ross Music was - we were able to customize which parts of our wedding we wanted to be performed live. We asked Kelly to learn a new song for the father/daughter dance and it was beyond amazing! So many of our guests commented how awesome the live music was as well as the DJ - we had to tell them that he was one and the same!

Andrew at John Ross Music was FANTASTIC for our ceremony, cocktail hour, reception, AND dessert hour! He sang, and played the guitar beautifully throughout the ceremony, cocktail hour, and dessert hour, and was the perfect MC/DJ for the reception! Andrew kept everyone moving and grooving in a crowd of people who aren't normally dancers! Andrew learned multiple songs for our ceremony and did a perfect job on each of them! He even led a hymn during the ceremony!! Very easy to work with and did not have to worry about a thing day of. We cannot say enough good things about Andrew's work at our September Seattle wedding!

John Ross (owner) did a fabulous job on my daughter’s wedding. He sang both an original song and other chosen music live with guitar for the outdoor ceremony. The sound, timing and talent as an artist were all just wonderful! He then moved inside for the reception and had us dancing the night away. Announcements were spot on based on the timeline we prepared for him. He also did a great job integrating Hispanic music and our country music playlist. Our friends have said it was one of the best weddings ever. John is professional, detailed and caring. We are so happy with the job he did, it is so important to get it right. Kudos to John Ross Productions!

Bo and the entire John Ross team are absolutely amazing! We knew we would be getting a great live music performance when we booked, but Bo went above and beyond to make our night seamless! From helping us bring our musical vision to life to bringing us water and snacks throughout the night.

I wish I could give Bo 10 stars. He was THAT GOOD! Bo Baskoro was my musician and DJ. He played acoustic/live music at the ceremony and during the cocktail hour and he was so very talented! His DJ skills were also amazing - he was able to read the room and sense the best song to play. We were even running 30 minutes behind schedule and he made everything run smoothly regardless with our signature dances, bouquet/garter toss songs, and the final exit song. He also checked on me the same amount of times my wedding coordinator did and asked me if I needed anything (I think it was like 6 times!). The John Ross Music and Production staff were also very helpful. They had me fill out a questionnaire the month before the big day so that we were all on the same page with plenty of time to figure out the finer details. This company is so organized and their musicians are so talented, I am so glad I got to have them be a part of my big day!

If you’re looking to add an extra touch to make your wedding feel even more special, make sure you choose to go with John Ross for your music and DJing. Traditional DJs to be honest can have a high school prom vibe. John Ross has an outstanding approach which includes live music plus traditional DJing. Having Michael Blake play acoustic guitar and sing while we walked up and down the aisle, during our happy hour, and while we had our first dance, was simply unforgettable. Also for anyone considering DJing your own wedding with an ipod, don’t underestimate the value of having a professional MC key parts of the reception. We also love that a recording of the ceremony and toasts was sent to use after the wedding, such a nice piece of history to have. Overall, great to work with. Highly recommended!

John Ross was amazing! The survey was extensive and pushed us to think of really good music suggestions which made our day that much more special. The speakers and speech setup was great and he was very professional, highly recommend!

These guys were amazing! We wanted to meet with them a couple months before the wedding to discuss genres and playlists and they were more than willing to accommodate. Having a good DJ was very important to us as we feel it sets the tone for the evening and Paul was awesome! He made sure to have the night flow seamlessly, played everything we wanted to hear, and was so easy to work with. We couldn't be happier with them. I would HIGHLY recommend John Ross Music and Productions if you're looking for friendly professionalism and a job well done.

What a find! I landed on John Ross Music from the shop I purchased my dress from (The White Dress, Portland, OR). Upon purchasing my dress, a bag of goodies and info was given to me and a sample CD from John Ross (JR) Music was in there. I had to go out of my way to find a CD player in the following week but it was worth it. I was also able to go to their website to find more music and I could have done that in the first place but playing the CD was such a joy (like time travel, LOL). I inquired on the JR website and was promptly responded to. The first gentleman we were interested in meeting with was no longer going to be with JR by the time of our wedding so we got set up to meet with our 2nd (the best) choice, Bo! The JR office is in an old home, set up in a room with a comfy couch and you're served beer or bubbly as you get situated and introduced. We got to spend an hour with Bo and John discussing who we are, what we're looking for, our music choices, and what kind of wedding day we were interested in having - a PARTY! Within a month (after wedding shows and "shopping") we 100% committed to John Ross. Of the 3-4 other DJs and music teams we met with, the level of service, time of response, and price for what you get (live music included with standard package - Bo sang for our cocktail hour!) we're far from matched by anyone else. Can we just say, a lot of DJs are straight creepy?! No creepy vibes with John Ross. Bo showed up on our wedding day dressed professionally, ready to play, and even had a good time WITH our guests. He was easy to talk to, easy to change direction with, and was able to just go with the night as it flowed. He is not a club DJ so if you're looking for thumpin' EDM, 30 seconds of each song played, or the cupid's shuffle, then John Ross isn't likely to be a 100% match for you. We loved the class and support from John Ross and would rebook again + recommend. Thanks, John, Jenny, and Bo!

We decided to use John Ross Music after a glowing recommendation from a friend and I’m so glad that we did! They were so professional and made it so easy on us on the big day. Affordable and they included everything that we needed so we didn’t have to worry about adding extra microphones or speakers, etc. There was an easy to use web portal to choose music/make payments and Jenny, the office admin was a great communicator and always kept us in the loop! We chose Dillon as our DJ after listening to his music on their website and he was incredible! He played acoustic music for our ceremony and his voice is so beautiful- it really made our ceremony so special! He learned a special song to accompany my family singing. He is also an amazing DJ- the dance floor was packed the entire night! I would 100% recommend Dillon and John Ross Music to anyone getting married!

We interviewed a few different DJ’s for our wedding but made the easiest and best decision when we found John Ross Music! It’s rare to have both the option for live music and DJ in one person! Communication was quick, easy and professional throughout the planning process. They sent us a list of available musicians for our wedding date. We were able to narrow down based on our music taste and desired vibe for the wedding. We luckily ended up getting to work with Kelly, who we can’t say enough great things about! We met with him a couple of times over FaceTime (we live out of state) and he really took the time to get to know our musical preferences. For my walk down the aisle, we asked for him to learn a new song and even change it up a little bit. I can’t describe what it is like to walk down the aisle and have it look and sound exactly as you hoped it would! It was just perfect. So many guests told me later that having him play live for the ceremony and cocktail hour was so special! He’s also an amazing DJ and kept the crowd dancing all night long. I can’t recommend Kelli and the John Ross team enough!

We can’t thank Bo Baskoro enough for his amazing contributions to our wedding day. Not only did Bo play beautiful music while our guests arrived, he did an incredible job reading the crowd throughout the evening and striking a balance between our requests and theirs. Bo followed our guidelines for the evening to a tee, and if anyone requested anything off our charted course, he graciously checked in with us and ensured we were comfortable. All in all, my husband and I highly recommend Bo and John Ross Music. Their sound systems were really incredible, and Bo was really nimble and easy to work with. He adjusted mics perfectly for every single speech, communicated well—just a really personalized and pleasant experience. Michael was the perfect choice for our wedding! His style and song list were very similar to our tastes and really made the day feel personal to us. We also hired a bass player and drummer to join him to kick off the first hour of the dance party, which gave us the live band feel we wanted, without having to sacrifice our budget. We could not be happier with how everything turned out, and we got a ton of compliments from our guests. The company was also extremely professional and easy to work with. The DJs at John Ross are also musicians, so not only do they know how to spin the beats, but they also understand and appreciate the finer nuances of all varieties of music. All of their DJs looked fantastic, all strong options with their own unique styles. We went with Bo Baskoro for our wedding since he jived with our style and he was absolutely fantastic! I cannot possibly say enough good things about the man. We gelled straight away at our first meeting; he's knowledgeable, intuitive, funny, cheerful, and passionate. Day of, Bo was calm, professional, and flexible. We were thrilled to have him play live music for the processional. The reception was tons of fun and he struck that perfect balance of charismatic, lively, and humble host. We were very particular on the musical style we wanted and a cohesive vibe to create throughout the evening. Not only did Bo do a superb job balancing our direction while reading the crowd, but he got excited over the same type of music we did (GRiZ, Vulfpeck, Gramatic, Big Wild, etc.) and he was genuinely thrilled to be there, not just a one-more-gig-attitude. On the dance floor Bo knew exactly when to check in with us on guests' requests, and he never pestered. In the end we were even able to dance a little longer than permitted at our venue, and it turns out the support staff was having just as much fun as we were so they were in no rush! They deal with a LOT of weddings, and I received multiple compliments from the staff on specific artists they love but just don't get to hear - it was their favorite venue to work! If you are looking for professional quality custom crafted to your unique tastes, I will immediately recommend Bo and John Ross Music without hesitation! Stop searching, don't waste your time. Our wedding planner recommended John Ross Music to us, so we investigated and listened to samples from them and a handful of other DJs in the Portland area. What distinguishes John Ross from the other vendors is the live music they offer in addition to DJing. We knew we would love to have acoustic music playing during our ceremony and for our first dance, so we decided to move forward with Bo Baskoro from John Ross, a very talented musician / singer and energetic DJ. His voice is unique and has range - so we were confident he would master any song we requested. He had a solid setlist that must grow quickly because he was able to learn the off-setlist music we requested for our first dance and our ceremony in a very short period of time. In addition to being a great musical talent with the education to back it up, Bo was engaging from the first time we met him all the way through the wedding and an absolute pleasure to work with. We communicated closely with Jenny, the administrator, and Bo to develop all details that tied into music and MCing for the wedding. John Ross Music also has a helpful online portal that includes a fairly extensive questionnaire, which allows us to include specific songs and genres of music we want to hear and include links to Spotify playlists that we wanted them to play during cocktail hour and dinner. Bo even shared a sample of him singing and playing our first dance song. On the day of, Bo was on point and his music blended in seamlessly to the ceremony. He was also there throughout the reception / dinner with the venue staff asking if we needed help, anything to drink, etc. He was energetic, fun, and enthusiastic all night and we couldn’t have been happier with the effort and his awesome performances. We would highly recommend Bo & John Ross Music to make your wedding a special, seamless, and unforgettable experience!!

John Ross music was seamless, they were very organized with timelines, needs, suggestions etc which helped a ton. They offer both live play and dj which was such a treat. Our day of DJ, Michael was amazing. He had such a beautiful voice and played during cocktail hour, we received so many compliments on his talent. He also was our MC for the night and was excellent at progressing through the timeline and keeping the vibe up. A sweet surprise about a month after the wedding we got an email of the audio from our ceremony and toasts. It brought me to tears as videography was the one thing we didn't have that I felt was a mistake. We had been talking about how we had no footage of any of the night and then we got the audio clips with amazing audio. We are so very happy with our DJ selection!

We had a great experiencing working with John Ross Music for our wedding. They are organized. Their online portal made everything so easy to track and update. They walked us through the process for selecting our music and the flow for our event so that it felt like we hardly did any work at all. Andrew Serino is a fantastic musician, DJ, and emcee. He even learned a new song to play for our recessional with only a month's notice. Bo with John Ross was great! He made time to meet with us and was very comfortable and easy to spend time with. He was thorough with the pre-wedding set up and determining our preferences. On wedding day, he not only set up his booth quickly and quietly, but he made it a point to check in continually with myself (the bride), the groom, the wedding party, and our families to see if we needed anything. During cocktail hour, he rocked out with our ring bearer, which the family loved to watch. There were some issues with the microphones during speeches, but he worked hard to find alternatives and fix the problems. During the dancing portion of the evening, he had a blast and even danced with us a bit, which was great! The guests loved him and continue to rave about him. We loved Bo!

Kelly was AMAZING! He went above and beyond, communicated with all our other vendors day of, and the live portion sounded amazing. He's really easy to talk to and plan with and has great input. Laid back but professional at the same time. Thank you so so much!!

We had 90% of our guest list flying in from out of state and around the country. Needless to say, we wanted the wedding to be perfect. A DJ is so essential to getting there, and John Ross was incredible as both a DJ and the lead of a wedding band. He did an acoustic version of Hotline Bling! (Nuff said) Holy cow, please book John Ross, and take your wedding to the next level!

My husband and I (and everybody in attendance) were blown away with our musician/DJ for our wedding, Andrew Serino! His talent, professionalism and fun personality was one of the many highlights to our day. Not only did he out perform the original artists in his live set but he gave our guests the best playlist including two of our kids favorites, "What does the fox say?" and "It's Raining Tacos". Our day went so smooth, it was like a dream. We could not have been in better hands! Thank you!

I don’t even know where to begin. John Ross was one of the highlights of our wedding- everyone was raving about his acoustic performance at the ceremony and our cocktail hour (he learned a super obscure song for me to walk down the aisle to and knocked it out of the park). He played a beautiful rendition of “In My Life” for our first dance that had the group in tears, and had one of the best playlists to get our dance party out on the floor for the whole night. On top of being an amazing musician and DJ, he is a super fun guy to be around. We would recommend him to anyone and everyone, our wedding would not have been the same without him!

Wow wow wow. Can't say enough positive things about Michael Blake and the whole John Ross crew. Michael travelled to Seattle for our wedding (for a ridiculously cheap travel fee) and was a dream to work with. The company was extremely easy to work with and responsive to emails. Michael was an amazing live performer, DJ and MC. Our guests were super impressed with his live cocktail hour (although unfortunately I didn't get to hear it-- pictures). He also did an incredible job DJ'ing and kept everyone dancing all night. John Ross and Michael Blake knocked it out of the park and I am SO glad that we were able to book them despite being all the way up in Seattle! THANK YOU!

If you want a great party and your guests to dance all night book John Ross Music and Production! Our Dj was Michael Blake and he really factored in everything we wanted! Our guests had so much fun, and everybody loved our dinner time music. The lighting during the reception was really fun and I had several people ask me if we used a separate rental service for it. After the wedding they even sent me the recording of all the audio from that day! I would recommend them to any family or friend’s needing a DJ!
