I used JR Owen for boudoir photos as a gift for my groom for our wedding. I was nervous about the whole experience, but Rachel made me so comfortable, and I could not be happier with how the photos turned out. It was so hard to choose from all the photos Rachel had taken but she helped me narrow down to get a good mix and my groom was so surprised and loved how they turned out. I ended up with the 12 photo package and the presentation of everything was absolutely beautiful.

Wow! Where do we even begin?! Our wedding was supposed to be in May of 2020 but due to covid we had to move it to June of 2021. Jeff and Rachel made changing our date smooth and reassured us they would still be photographing our special day! The day comes and we were so lucky to have Jeff, Jerry and Jim!! This trio made our day smooth, flawless, and so much fun!!! Jeff made it his mission to get to know our bridal party, family and friends BY NAME and quickly knew our relationship with each of them! Talk about attention to detail!!! By halfway through the day it was clear to my husband and I that not only did we make the best decision by working with Jeff and Rachel! Jeff's light hearted and fun energy captured not only your traditional wedding pictures but pure happiness of every single involved in our special day!!! I can't say enough good things about J.R. Owen & Co! We definitely found a company that not only cares about capturing the true beauty of your day but truly care about you and we will continue to use them in our future photographs!!!!!

wish i could give 10 stars! the couple meetings we had were, honestly, mostly chit chat. we really clicked, and jeff and rachel understood us so easily. it obviously helped them in capturing the day. our pictures are wonderful!

Rachel took pictures at my friends wedding and they were stunning! So we decided to use the team for our wedding, although we ended up having a really small wedding due to COVID. Jeff was available and took our pictures alone. We could not have been more disappointed. Either my husband or I have our eyes closed in each picture, he made no suggestions to get nice images (as we were on a vista over looking a lake), and the angles are all awful. To top it off, he left an hour early and made a speech to our family that was incredibly uncomfortable. Our photos are basically unusable and I’m continually extremely sad (months later) about the terrible quality - as I’d we needed another wedding disappointment after canceling our celebration due to the pandemic. All said. Absolutely use Rachel, but I’d suggest avoiding working with Jeff.

Rachel and Jeff are absolutely amazing! Rachel did our engagement photos, my boudoir shoot, as well as our wedding and we couldn't be happier with the pictures. She is great at making you feel relaxed and natural while taking the pictures. All of our photos turned out incredible and you can really feel our emotion in them! Jeff and Rachel both were so easy to work with and our friends and family thought they were great! They were so accommodating, understanding and helpful during all of the craziness of Covid too. I could not recommend them enough for your wedding!

Putting into words what Jeff and Rachel did for our wedding day is almost impossible. We had a few key things that we wanted out of our photographers: attention to detail, not in the way, and able to fit in with our group. Well...they BLEW us away with their ability to do ALL of these things better than we could have even imagined. They thought of EVERYTHING! Things we did not even think we needed to plan for! Our images are something that we can treasure forever! Our friends and family are obsessed with the photos and we truly cannot pick our favorites....we love them all!

I found J.R. Owen at a bridal show. I was drawn to them because they are a husband and wife team and they really seem to care about the weddings that they shoot. We had several meetings before the wedding, locking down the timeline and making sure that all the important people were in the notes. Rachel and Jeff both bring their own eye to the wedding photography. Jeff keeps things light, fun, and takes a TON of pictures. Rachel focuses on the artistic photos and sets up beautiful shots. BOTH take beautiful photos. It was a pleasure having them both photograph our wedding because we got the best of both worlds. We got our photos extremely fast and everyone was extremely happy with the results. The other great thing is that Jeff and Rachel want you to be happy with your photos, so if there is a perfect picture but one person's eyes are closed, they are more than happy to fix it. GREAT photographers. HIRE THEM.

They were wonderful to work with! From the first meeting all the way through the wedding they seemed to really want to get to know us and our vision and what we wanted. They were very prompt with all responses and answered questions whenever I asked. They made sure that we felt comfortable and that we got everything we wanted. We were also very impressed with how fast our pictures were completed, they were done in less than two weeks only reason we didn't get them for a little longer is because we were still on our honeymoon! It was a wonderful surprise to come home to have these so quickly and so beautiful. The pictures were all we could have imagined and more, they were beautiful and picking our favorites has proved to be impossible. They worked together wonderfully to give a beautiful mix of creative and traditional photos. I would hire them for our wedding again if we could do it over and would use them for pictures in the future without hesitation! They had many surprises and every single one was wonderful!

Rachel and Jeff are absolutely amazing! Rachel did our engagement photos as well as our wedding and we couldn't be happier with the pictures. She is great at incorporating everyone and making groups feel relaxed which really shines through in the photos. They are both incredibly accommodating and patient, and we loved working with them. I could not recommend them enough for your wedding!

Jeff and Rachel were beyond accommodating for us on our special day. They stayed the entire day (nearly 13 hours) and were professional throughout the day. There was constant communication throughout the entire process from planning the wedding to the actual wedding day. We had a great time taking our engagement photos (Jeff and Rachel drove to Sox Park and the Kenzie Bridge in Chicago for us). Our biggest highlight was the video interview; every wedding guest loved it and it was so unique to other weddings. Jeff and Rachel are incredibly nice and genuine people. You won't be disappointed with them.

Jeff did our wedding he was funny, but professional and just really made the whole experience from booking to the actual day, to reviewing the final product super easy and enjoyable and natural. We love our photos! Jeff and Mike were the photographers for our wedding and we had a wonderful time. Jeff also took our engagement pictures and we got so many compliments from family and friends. JR Owen & Co is very reasonably priced compared to other photographers we researched, and you get an incredible amount of pictures! They were very helpful in editing some pictures for us and they turned around all of our wedding pictures in less than a month. We look forward to having these hang in our home forever!

I AM OBSESSED WITH OUR WEDDING PHOTOS! Honestly, I have never seen such well done wedding photos and I am so happy with our decision! The pictures captured every single emotion of the day and I was not expecting that. Looking at the photos I can remember exactly how I felt in that moment. Nothing was forced or too staged. Friends who have been to many weddings said the pictures turned out amazing and the best dancing shots they have ever seen. There were so many little moments captured that I am so thankful for! Rachel’s creativity and beautiful eye for lighting and staging was absolutely terrific. We were So Blessed to be able to have both Jeff and Rachel as our photographers. We got a link to our photos, over 900 of them, right after we returned from our honeymoon. Jeff and Rachel are AMAZING photographers who will go above and beyond any expectations you have for your wedding photography. Also, if you have the budget for it, hire both of them to shoot your wedding. They are an amazing team when they work together and they bounce so many awesome ideas off each other throughout the day. Jeff and Rachel are fun, personable and will make you feel right at home as soon as you meet them. Be prepared for a day of laughter, fun and damn good photography! My wedding day was absolutely perfect in every way and they documented the day like no other could!

We used J.R. Owen & Co. for our recent wedding! Jeff was our main photographer and Mike was our second photographer. They both did a great job the day of the wedding! Jeff’s personality makes you feel at ease and it is always nice knowing your photographer from previous weddings (Jeff did my husband’s brother and best friend’s wedding too). The pictures turned out great! I also used Rachel for a boudoir photo shoot. She made me feel very comfortable and the pictures turned out great. My husband loved the album! Jeff and mike were our photographers for our wedding day. They did an amazing job! They listened to all the pictures we wanted and were able to capture all the great moments. Jim was our videographer and we can’t wait to see the video! They all did such a great job and made it so much fun. We saw Rachel and Jeff work the wedding of a friend of ours and loved their pictures, so decided to approach them for our wedding. At first from their pricing online we were a little intimidated, but I was absolutely blown away by how great Rachel, Jeff and their staff were from step 1 to 100. Both were extremely pleasant and willing to negotiate in price. For what we paid we had 2 photographers, a videographer and awesome photo booth and when comparing to other photo companies came to a great price total. Rachel was awesome for me- someone who isnt very photogenic and not sure of how to take nice pictures really. She was able to get family and friends who are hard to smile and pose in some great shots and pictures and I cant wait to see how they all turned out :)

He captured the entire day and the quality of the video is outstanding. Jim not only put together a wonderful comprehensive wedding video, but he also put together a very nice highlight video for us that included the key events of the day. Jim did an excellent job of recording our live band which was very important to us. Jeff, Mike and Jim were discrete with the camera and their candid photos and footage are priceless! Despite our cold and damp wedding day, Jeff and Jim were more than willing to once again, pack up their equipment, grab a golf cart and and lead us to the most scenic spots on the golf course for more lasting memories! Jeff and Rachel are the best photographers! From the moment I had my consultation with Rachel I knew I wanted them to be our photographers. Let me start with the engagement photos. Jeff met us in Chicago the Monday before Thanksgiving to take a ton of pictures of us and our pup that we could use for our christmas card and save the date. We had the photos by WEDNESDAY! They were perfect! His photography skills are remarkable. The wedding was perfect. Rachel was so professional and kind and so was Jeff the entire time with our crazy bunch. The way they set up shots you could tell they knew what they were doing. The pictures are STUNNING one actually made me gaps it was so beautiful! They are the best I am so glad we went with them!!!

Rachel and Jeff are absolutely amazing! When we first got engaged we wanted a company that was personal and provided exceptional quality. Rachel and Jeff took the time to get to know us and our wedding style. We spent hours that initial meeting just getting to know each other. After the appointment, my husband and I walked out and didn't even need to have a discussion. We knew right away J.R. Owen and Company was the perfect fit. We actually canceled our other appointments and emailed Rachel that night with our decision. It was the best decision! The day of the wedding Rachel made Michael and I feel so special. At the church we didn't even realize she was there. She is incredible at what she does and her photos are stunning. I am beyond thrilled to have these pictures that we will have for years and years. Jeff and his associate Michael photographed our daughter's wedding September 9,2017. It was extraordinary! The photographs which we had within 2 weeks after the wedding are incredible. It was so easy. We met with Jeff twice before the wedding and he had such a great understanding of what we wanted that everything went smoothly. It was also fun and added to the special day. They were not intrusive but flexible. We could not have asked for a better photographer and can't wait to see the video.

Rachel and Jeff are accommodating and flexible in that they will give you what you ask for and MORE. My husband and I did not have our reception at a wedding venue but we still wanted some pictures outside with beautiful background scenery. Rachel suggested meeting at two different locations on the day of our reception so that we could get pictures with our loved ones at our reception, but also have some pictures of my husband, daughter, and I in a more picture perfect location too. Rachel has a good eye and got beautiful, candid shots quickly so that we could get back to our party as fast as possible! She did a wonderful job editing our photos before getting them back to us as well. Rachel and Jeff are really great about responding to emails and phone calls/texts in a timely manner. They are professional but also made us feel comfortable and cared for throughout the process.

We first met with Rachel & Jeff based on recommendation from multiple family members who had used them for their weddings. Upon meeting with them for the first time, we cancelled all other appointments because we knew they would be perfect to shoot our big day! Rachel & Jeff are extremely personable and so much fun to work with. We used them for an engagement shoot as well as on the wedding day. Both sets of photos are AMAZING! We love how they all turned out. There is a perfect combination of posed and candid pics, as we had discussed when meeting prior to the wedding. On top of that, the turn around time for receiving the wedding photos was so fast! All of our pictures were given to us in under 3 weeks. They even put together a group of highlights that include the best shots. Also, we are so happy that we opted for the photobooth. It is an open booth so everyone is able to see how people are posing, which adds a lot to the fun/hilarity of it. Many of our guests have commented how much they enjoyed it. We even have 1 photobooth pic that has 16 people in it! Overall, choosing JR Owen & Co. was one of the easiest and best decisions we made in all of our planning. We highly recommend them to anyone who is looking for a photography company that is friendly, professional, and knows how to capture and create beautiful moments on their wedding day.

We loved Jeff and Rachel from the first meeting we had with them, they are amazing and so easy to work with! 😀 Our families gave them so many compliments!

If I could post the pictures of my wedding day I wouldn't need to write a review. There were no bad pictures! 889 photos and all of them are usable! Rachel and Jeff work so well together and so well with us it felt like a fun, easy experience. Not stressful or forced whatsoever. They are an incredible team and I would highly recommend for any event but especially a wedding. They captured my day perfectly. As I look at the photos I relive the best day of my life over and over. They truly told a story of my dream day come true

Rachel took our wedding photos and did an amazing job! We got married on NYE, so we didn't have a lot of daylight to work with aside from the "first look" photos. Luckily, she was a pro at getting some amazing shots for us even at night which I have heard can be very tricky. She was also really creative in coming up with ideas for photos and poses, etc. All the photos turned out great! She was very sweet and great to work with. Highly recommend!
