We cannot say enough good things about Joe! From the moment we met him, he blended seamlessly into the experience, capturing the most genuine and heartfelt moments of our elopement...
without ever forcing anything or making us feel like we were "posing." It felt like he was part of the natural flow of the day, which made the entire experience so comfortable and laid-back.
Joe’s professionalism truly shone through. He worked around our unique timeline and even managed to photograph at two different locations without a hitch! We never felt pressured, rushed, or uncomfortable. He made the entire process smooth and enjoyable especially for us not being super comfortable in front of a camera.
But the real magic happened when we received our photos. We were completely speechless! It felt like we were reliving every moment again—pinching ourselves that those incredible images were actually of us. Joe captured the essence of our love so beautifully, we couldn’t believe how perfect every shot was. We appreciate his thoughtfulness in the delivery of images with special gift and keeping this secret off social media til we were ready to share.
Without a doubt, we highly recommend Joe to anyone looking for a photographer who can turn your special moments into stunning memories. He has a rare gift of capturing love as it truly is.
Thank you, Joe!
We had the privilege of working with Joe for multiple wedding events as we wanted a fall mountain top elopement & micro party followed by a larger party in the spring. As we starte...
d planning the different events, it was most important to us to have a photographer experienced in mountain top celebrations. We decided to work with Joe and could not have chosen better.
Joe not only ran up a mountain with us but was involved in all the planning details including sharing a list of the best larch hikes, watching the weather and pinpointing exactly when golden hour would be hitting specific peaks. Even as the sun was setting and the light was fading, Joe found all the last bits of alpenglow to make us feel and look like we were the only ones standing on top of the world. He even carried heavy film cameras with him to capture the evening and we're so glad he did as they resulted in some of our favorite photos.
The photos Joe took exceeded all our expectations and we have been excited and proud to share them with all our friends and family.
Joe's skill doesn't stop on a mountain top. For our micro and macro party events, he brought an incredible sense of calm and serenity to all the wedding chaos around us. He was somehow everywhere, capturing incredible candid moments while still taking leadership to direct the posed shots we wanted.
Joe captured the differences and highlighted the uniqueness in each of our events and yet each gallery we received feels cohesive and timeless. It's impossible to choose favorites and it's going to be very difficult to determine which photos to hang on our walls.
What can I say about working with Joe? He is an absolute delight to work with. He's charming and charismatic and knows how to get the absolute best out of his subjects and photos. ...
We hired Joe as the photographer for our wedding and man did he deliver. Approximately a month after our wedding, he sent us all 1,041 photos from the day in an adorable little box containing a USB with all the photos, as well as some hand-selected prints from him, plus a little bonus gift from him that I won't ruin for any future clients. My wife and I spent the evening going through every single one of them. Every single one was absolutely stunning and amazing in its own way. Going through them really made us relive the day, along with every emotion that came with it. Not to mention that he photographed our wedding on a very rainy day. He never complained, never even mentioned the weather, and his willingness to put up with whatever the day threw at him, I believe, speaks volumes to his character and his commitment to his craft. Joe is an astounding photographer and a wonderful person to work with. I cannot recommend him enough for whatever you may need him for.

ocations and planning a post-wedding day shoot for my couple. On the day of the wedding, Joe was flexible, easy to work with and a joy to be around! Wedding days can be stressful, but it makes a world of a difference to have a photographer like Joe with a calming demeanor present. On top of all of that, Joe's work is amazing! I love the photos from the wedding I worked with him and it took me forever to pick only 10 to post on Instagram since I loved them all so much. I hope I get to work with him again soon!
Joe is 100% the photographer anyone would want for thier wedding day. He took breathtaking photos of us and gave us great instruction and feedback for how to stand and where to sta...
nd so we looked natural. Before the wedding Joe did a terrific job communicating how the photo shoot for our wedding day would go, and he took great care making sure we had photos of everything we asked for. He was great to work with and we highly recommend him!

as professional. Plus, we really just liked his style of work.
We got married at Salish Lodge and Spa and he knows all the ins and outs for photos in and around there (the event staff at Salish are on a first name basis with him).
It happened to be pouring down rain on our wedding day and he had all his gear prepared and it wasn't an issue at all. Also, he made sure that we were comfortable and knew spots that we could get to without too much fuss but still have great shots.
The photos turned out beautiful and he was so great to work with. We couldn't have asked for a better photographer.
We completely lucked out having Joe as our photographer! The film and digital pictures were all fantastic and he truly captured the joy we felt and the beauty of the day. He was al...
so very covid safe, reliable, and easy to communicate with throughout the process which makes a reasonably stress filled day less stressful. Every time I look at pictures from our wedding it brings me right back which is the goal right? Thanks for everything, Joe! Highly recommend if you too are lucky enough to find a date that he's available.
A high priority of ours was to have unique yet timeless images from our wedding, and Joe exceeded all of our expectations by delivering a phenomenal set of images. Joe has a though...
tful and creative approach to photography that enables him to capture important moments effortlessly. He included creative and artistic prints in addition to the standard photos that we requested. Joe was a great resource for us throughout the entire wedding planning process, and we are so grateful to have found him to photograph our wedding + engagement! We would highly recommend if you are interested in a photographer with an artistic eye, good communication skills, and great instincts!
Joe is amazing, and knows exactly how to run a wedding day! he is super flexible and was very good with our family members. He truly captured a perfect day.

edding vision. Joe has an eye for capturing beauty - we love our engagement and teaser wedding photos! They really captured moments that we’ll look back on. His pre-photoshoot communication is very clear and he gives good instructions during the photoshoot as well to direct the image without feeling too much like models. Having your photograph taken can easily be awkward but Joe made us laugh and become comfortable quickly. We’re so thankful that Joe was able to be our photographer even with covid postponing our wedding, he was flexible and kept good communication through the long pause.
Joe was amazing from the start and was our first choice of wedding photographers. My husband and I hate our photo taken but Joe made it so much fun and we love every photo. When CO...
VID hit we had to reschedule our wedding once then had to cancel it completely and start all over within a few months. The only thing we kept from our originally planned wedding was Joe. We worked out the best new date so he could make it. We had a small ceremony and reception and the photos turned out amazing. Even with everyone concerned about me walking down to a creek in my dress and up a hill for stunning sunset photos. We easily trusted him and the results dropped everybody's jaw! We don't even have to consider anyone else for any future events!
Joe is one of the best photographers we have ever worked with, easily. And we are incredibly picky about photos. Not only did we get to have him hike with us on an epic 20 mile adv...
enture engagement for photos, but we invited him to come to California in the midst of COVID to be our photographer for our wedding. We wanted the wedding to be a very intimate gathering and we couldn't think of a better photographer to be there with us. And we are so glad we asked him. He has always produced such beautiful images and has a natural talent and eye for composition and just ways to create such creative and awesome shots. We thought it was impossible to love photos more than our engagement photos but Joe certainly outdid himself again. We are already recommending him to everyone we know and are already looking for ways to invite him back!

If you are considering Joe as your wedding (or other life event) photographer, just do it! Joe took us up to Snoqualmie for our engagement photos. The original plan was to do some ...
backcountry skiing and take pictures however, we were unable to due to low snow. My point is that Joe is willing to go to the extremes to capture your relationship how you see it. He is very responsive to email. My husband and I are not accustomed to posing for photos, but Joe made us feel so comfortable. He gave his advice when asked and he was a calm presence on the day of our wedding. Do not hesitate to book this photographer. You will not regret it.
Joe was everything we could have asked for in a wedding photographer, and more! Starting with the engagement session, he literally and figuratively went the extra mile to make our ...
photos exceptional. Joe was always easy to work with and professional, and jumped on the idea of having our engagement photo shoot at the end of a 10 mile hike. The pictures turned out absolutely breath taking and completely captured the personalities of my husband and I. This skill carried forward to our wedding day. I could put my full confidence in the fact that Joe was capturing the beauty of the day, which was one less thing for me to worry about. The photos he captured were just perfect from the emotions of the first look and ceremony, joy of the first dance and a special session toward the end where he was able to fullfill our request to have sunset photos on a mostly cloudy day. I could not be more greatful for Joe and his assistant and would highly recommend him to anyone looking for a wedding photographer, especially if they are interested in incorporating the beauty of the outdoors.

ased with our experience. He had great communication throughout the process, and made us feel very comfortable the entire time. Not to mention the photos themselves turned out fantastic. Couldn't recommend Joe any higher!

e quite striking. I got in touch with her and she gave me Joe's information. He was wonderful to work with. Your engagement photo shoot comes with the price for booking him for your wedding, so he gets to know you and you can be comfortable around him. He makes you feel very at ease and cracks jokes along the way. When we sent out our save the dates, two other couple friends ended up booking him because they loved our engagement photos so much. I think that speaks volumes as to the quality of his work. Working with him on our wedding day was a fantastic experience. Our photos turned out truly special, and will be treasured memories for years to come. I can't begin to say how many people have commented to us about how wonderful the photos turned out.
Joe did an excellent work photographing my wedding! He was attentive and was eager to know what my spouse and I wanted, but also brought his own subtle and sophisticated artistic t...
ouch to the table. The photographs are a mix of intimate, striking, and beautiful. Joe knew just how to represent our vision of our wedding in images. A huge bonus was that Joe cares deeply about the outdoors and helped us integrate that important element of our wedding plan into the photography. You should hire him!
Hiring Joe as our wedding photographer was definitely one of the best wedding vendors we selected. Joe is easy going, knows his stuff, and super responsive. He made the process so ...
great for us every step of the way. It was amazing seeing his passion and skill throughout one of the most important days for us. Everyone around was so impressed of his ability to be ready with one great shot after another, and to somehow be in 5 places at once. He knows his stuff. You spend a majority of your wedding day closely working with your wedding photographer and we are so glad to have Joe by our side throughout the day. We woke up the morning after our wedding with a link to a blog post from Joe with a few preview photos. This by far exceeded our expectations and was the best thing we could have imagined waking up to. The turn around of receiving our photos was also sooner than expected, and just another bonus on top of the photos that we absolutely love. We can't say enough about how happy we are with our wedding photos. We highly recommended Joe to anyone looking for a wedding photographer and can't thank him enough for the great experience we had.
I can not say enough wonderful things about Joe Tobiason! Not only did he have a magnificent, artistic eye to capture all of the details and moments (big and small) of my wedding ...
but he brought such an amazing, calming, go-with-the-flow energy that made the day so enjoyable. Joe kept my husband, my family/bridal party and myself organized and on time in such an efficient way - he is truly a communication fairy. He was so timely and through with all communication and delivered photography for our day that I will truly cherish forever!

ning a professionalism and dedication to making us look amazing! The day of the wedding he was all business— he even had a crochet hook to help button my dress! He was timely, flexible, and helpful throughout the whole process. The photos turned out absolutely gorgeous. I could not believe how well he captured our day, our emotion, and our joy!

ere really impressed with his ability to just appear at the right moment to snap a shot and then let the party resume. He promptly delivered select photos the next day which was an unexpected treat. I highly recommend booking him and taking him up on his offer to do scenic mountain engagement shots.

at he would know exactly how to capture our big day. He was also flexible on pricing and gave us exactly the time and amount of photos we wanted at a very reasonable price! Throughout the whole waterfall hike, pre-ceremony, ceremony, and cake cutting, he knew exactly what to do and he was really cognizant of my idea of what kind of photos I wanted. We received our pictures from him after a only a month (which was awesome!) and they were absolutely breathtaking! I'm so happy with the final result and the overall ease of the process with Joe. If you like his style, I highly recommend him! He's a great person and a great photographer. Thanks again Joe for the amazing day and the amazing photos that we will cherish for the rest of our lives.

o we! We had a beautiful day on the mountain. He made us feel so comfortable behind the camera and really it was just a fun time. Joe is very good at communication, outlining what to expect, and really getting a sense of what you want. By the time our wedding rolled around, Joe felt like an old friend. He captured our day with absolutely stunning photos -that I still cannot stop starting at! We had an unconventional ceremony with many moving parts. Joe knew where to be and when. The end result is a beautiful compilation of our day that we will have for the rest of our lives and will share with our children and grandchildren. I would hands down recommend Joe without reservation. He's just great. His photos are stunning. You will not be disappointed. Hell, we are actively trying to convince him to photograph the christening of our future children, vow renewals, 50th birthday bash and just about all of our big life events! Ahhh...one can only dream.

y. Before we even started planning the wedding, we’d talked about how having good photos to look back on was a big priority; we’re both pretty nostalgic and love looking back over photos. We fell in love with Joe’s portfolio: his attention to detail, eye for light, love of nature, and the way he can capture the sweet moments between a couple. I loved that engagement photos were part of the package; it was a great way to get to know Joe and made my husband and me more relaxed knowing that photos were going to go so well at the wedding. (Also, Joe is an amazing scout of pretty spots for photos in the PNW!) Joe’s communication throughout the process was awesome! We did our wedding without a planner, and were both pretty clueless on quite a lot of details. I’m so thankful to Joe that he let us pick his brain for the “day of” timing! During the wedding, it seemed like he was always everywhere without getting in the way; looking over all of the photos, I can’t believe how much one photographer could capture! So many sweet moments that I know I’ll hold close to my heart. I can’t stop looking at them :) Joe, thank you so much for showing so much care and attention to detail for our wedding. We couldn’t be happier!
From the second we met Joe (serendipitously in NYC where he was visiting and where we currently live) we knew we wanted him as our photographer for our Seattle wedding. Not only is...
he one of the most talented photographers out there (just check out his portfolio!), but he is an all-around great guy; professional, friendly, such a great energy and really knows weddings and how to capture each moment perfectly (and stealthily!). Looking through our photos we get to re-live our day- through both stunning planned shots and the sweetest candids. Joe really captured the feeling of our wedding and we can't say enough praise for this talented guy. We got sooo lucky working with Joe- one of the best parts of our whole wedding experience!

d made the right choice. Joe was always available for questions and went over the day-of plan with us in detail. On our wedding day Joe and his assistant were fantastic, making every moment, from our first look to our reception exit so special. Joe takes impressive candid photos and uses the environment to his advantage in so many ways. We loved working with him and would recommend him to anyone looking for phenomenal photos!

edding planning process is super important, and Joe was always prompt to respond to calls/texts/or emails which meant a lot to us; he always made us feel like his number one priority. Also, about a month before the wedding Joe schedules a one-to-one chat to go over every single detail of the day!
Our engagement photo session was a blast, we were a bit nervous at first, but Joe has a way of making you feel at ease and confident.
The day of the wedding, Joe was a rockstar to say the least. Like most weddings there was a lot of commotion that day, but he never lost focus and was always smiling, my family and friends were very impressed. Bottom line is we couldn't be happier about choosing Joe as our wedding photographer. Our photos are beautiful, he really captured the magic of the day.
